Julian Starcroft fights villains in the hottest action films of the silver screen, vanquishing fictional criminals to win the hearts of millions. Everyone wants a piece of him – everyone, that is, except the mysterious extra lurking around the set. She flirts with every man but him, but Dara Dane can’t ignore him when he chooses her as the lead actress’ body double. He could never imagine the truth…
Dara Dane doesn’t exist.
Undercover detective Cheyenne Kirk is playing the role of Dara, flirtatious and starstruck extra, to catch the criminal recruiting call girls from movie sets. She fights to complete her mission, yet 6’3 of solid muscle stands in her way. Julian usurps her time, attention and senses, foiling her attempts to play bait as he delves ever-closer to the truth. Soon he is pursuing far more than her secrets. He wants her.
He plays a secret agent in the movies…
What happens when he discovers his mysterious extra is the real thing?
Cheyenne is undercover as a police officer to discover how the missing women are disappearing from the set of movies. She is trying to stay out of notice while she gathers information but when she catches the eye of Julian StarCraft the star of the movie where she is an extra. Besides being attracted to her he knows she is up to something and is determined to find out what that is.I thought Cheyenne was acting out of character spending so much time with Julian and letting her investigation go. I also thought there was too much emphasis on Julian’s wealth - it seemed too over the top and detracted from the original story line.
Even though I was disappointed in parts for the story it was a fun read and certainly won’t keep me from reading Melanie Knight books.I suggest you make your own judgement.
Destiny (Cheyenne) and Julian were perfect for each other and I enjoyed their playful banter. He was the actor but she was actually undercover. Although he knew she wasn't being truthful and he didn't know who she truly was, they still managed to build a relationship.
The only thing that bugged me about this story was her being called Dara in the opening and in the Epilogue, she was called in one spot Sarah and he was called Cole in another. Come on, at least keep the names straight throughout the book. I imagine there is another book out there with those names that the author was thinking about.
This story is a very enjoyable read. The characters are strong but still caring. The story is fun to read and a little racy at times. The story is told at a good pace and it is hard to put down once you start. I would highly recommend this book and the others in the series to anyone who enjoys a nice romance novel.
Cheyenne is an undercover police officer trying to track down a ring taking aspiring actresses and trafficking them Julian's is the star of the movie and enthralled by her as Destiny Dane. Funny , romantic, many twists and turns. Great characters and story!! I highly recommend!!!!
Entertainingly humorous! A superstar who can't help but notice the new " extra" and her abhorrence to being in the spotlight and his out of control attraction to her and his curiosity to who she really is!
