Love love love! Book three in Witchlore series and my favourite by far, Truly Madly Magically picks up seamlessly where book two finished.
We're straight back to St. Cyprian and this time the focus is on Ellowyn Good and Zander. Their relationship has never been straightforward or easy but there is that undeniable connection, the bond they'll have to rely on if they want to survive the war with the Joywood convent and maybe possibly build future together for themselves but also their friends and family.
Hazel Back created a truly magical world, world with characters I felt and rooted for but also shouted and laughed at. World where magic and human emotion blend seamlessly. I fell in love with that world and hope there will be more Witchlore stories to come.

The Witchlore series is getting better and better!

This series is cozy, warm, fun, light… and this newest addition to the series is all of those things. Ellowyn was such a fun FMC to follow and her story felt incredibly emotional and tender. Her family of Zander, her friends (real and ghost!), and her sisters being developed while she was pregnant felt really poignant and delicate. I also found this book to have a really empowering message. So far, all of the Hazel Beck books in the Witchlore series have a great focus of women finding themselves and coming into their own. Ellowyn’s growth and her discovery of what it means to be powerful was really nice to read… it just makes you all warm and fuzzy by the end.

If you’re looking for something light, sweet, easy, entertaining, and thoughtful… read this book and the rest of the Witchlore series!

Truly Madly Magically is the third book in the Witchlore series and focuses on Ellowyn and Zander's story. While this book could be read as a standalone, there are many references to the first two books that I think really help connect the overarching story told throughout this series.

In this book, we follow Ellowyn and Zander as they put aside their differences in order to confront a major life change. For the last decade, they have spent each day hating each other after a fall out in high school--except on Beltane, the one night of the year when they give into their passionate desires for one romantic night. This second chance romance was so sweet and I just loved the two of them together. I also really enjoyed the ghosty elements in this book as they added a layer of depth and background that helped add to the history behind members in the coven.

Overall, I really love the cozy, witchy vibes to these books and cannot wait for book 4! I highly recommend picking up this series if you are looking for a witchy, seasonal read!

Thank you so much to the publisher and to NetGalley for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Book Review 📖🍂✨

Truly Madly Magically
by Hazel Beck

About the book 👇🏽

A witch cursed to tell the truth, and the man who won’t let her lie to herself anymore…

Cursed by her own mother to always tell the truth and one of the only half-witches around, Ellowyn Good has never considered herself an equal part of the Riverwood coven. But when the Joywood, the evil rulers of the witching world, target her directly, she begins to wonder why they want her gone.

With their fates in the balance, Ellowyn will have to learn to trust Zander again—or be doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. Assuming they all survive the Joywood’s latest bid for absolute power over the witching world…

✨ My thoughts:

I love that the books I’ve read in this series have all been quick reads! I won’t lie, I was hesitant to read this one because ANY pregnancy trope gives me the hives. BUT I also can’t skip a book if I’m planning on reading the rest of the series so here we are! Although it is not my favorite one in the series it was still enjoyable and I didn’t have any problem happily reading on. Plus it helped that this was a second chance romance… which we all know is my favorite. I found the romance to be sweet and really enjoyed Ellowyn and Zander together. With equal pining (even though it’s labeled as hate), history, and an emotional rollercoaster of feelings, I couldn’t help but feel charmed by this story. I cannot wait to read the conclusion to the Witchlore series, Dragon Fires Everywhere. If you enjoy second chances, found family, and witchy reads, I think you’ll need to read this series!

Happy reading 📖 ✨🍂

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing. I had not previously read any of Hazel Beck's books, but after reading Truly Madly Magically, I definitely will be going back to read books 1 and 2 in the Witchlore series! I really enjoyed this book, and, even though I wish I had read the first two books in the series before this, I didn't feel completely lost in where the story picked up since all of the important information was recapped in a way that fit in the current storyline. I love a fantasy/magical read, so this was a fun one. The character development of Ellowyn and Zander in this book was really well done and appreciated, in my opinion. I also just love the relationship of the coven as a whole. Overall, this book kept me hooked and emotionally invested in the story. It was a quick read that I read through in just two days.

This series has a consistently fun, casual magic energy. There's not a lot of complicated world building, just the most common witchy elements. I think this one is my favourite. These characters were a lot more enjoyable than the last book.

The overall arc from book 1 was a lot less dramatic than I expected. The ascension seemed like it should've been a lot more complicated. Overall, a fun, witchy, Halloween season read.

4.5 stars...first off thank you to Netgalley and the publishers of this book for the eARC. I am so loving this series and it sounds like there is going to be another book which I am equally excited for. I now have an emotional connection with all these characters so I must find out the rest of the story. This book was just as cute/cozy/witchy as the last two and I loved it. Would definitely recommend it to be read when it comes out in a few months!

Ahhhhh I loved this one yall! It was so good! The Witchlore series is just so good and is so cozy and fun with amazing characters.

I loved Ellowyn as a FMC and she was so much fun to follow. I really loved her journey in this book and seeing her find herself was so empowering.

Not gonna lie, I read this book when it was a crisp 67 degrees outside with my windows open and my favorite tea in hand. 10000% scratched my itch for a cozy fall inspired romantic fantasy. This whole series reads like Gilmore Girls and Halloween Town had a baby in the best possible way.

This is the third book in this series and the MCs, Ellowyn and Zander, are my favorite so far. I really liked the play on the classic grumpy/sunshine trope with the grumpy/ grumpy dynamic. The story continues the series plot line nicely and doesn’t have a major cliffhanger at the end which we love.

Overall, 10/10 would recommend for a cozy fall read.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of this book! This cozy series continues to delight. As we follow Ellowynn’s journey, we get to see more behind this closed book of a character, and I really loved her POV. There were quite a few nights I had to tell myself “just one more chapter” before I’d eventually succumb to sleep haha. But it’s a real page turner that I had trouble putting down! I look forward to the next book in the series (because there has to be, right?? Especially for Georgie!) and recommend this book to anyone looking for a witchy romance that’s heavy on themes of inner strength and found family.

I loved this book so much I finished it in one day. I have been flying through this series and really enjoying it. Big thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the eARC of this book!!! I binged the first two books after I received the ARC and man they did not disappoint. I absolutely love the overarching plot line that continues from book to book as well as the smaller couple romance plot that features a different couple each book. These books give a small town Gilmore girls vibe combined with the witchy political upheaval of A discovery of witches vibes. I absolutely LOVE it. Any sort of ousting of not so great leaders with questionable morals is right up my alley. I love that I loved these books but I am now sooooo sad I have to wait so long for book 4 haha.

This is book 3 in the Witchlore series. This book has the same setting at the 1st two books following the Riverwood Coven in St. Cyprian. You do not necessarily need to read to first two books to enjoy this book. Hazel Beck writes each book in this series with enough detail that you can focus on the book at hand. There are references to things that have happened previously that you would not otherwise understand. Each book in the series focuses on a different set of characters, this book follows Ellowyn and Zander and their tumultuous relationship. The book begins with the coven preparing for the ascension. Pretty immediately Ellowyn reveals a secret that will affect their lives indefinitely. Attacks from the Joywood are frequently occurring. The book did have a bit of a slow start, for me it was Ellowyn’s actions and behaviors that had in dragging on. She reminded me of a sullen teenager that kept changing her mind on what she wanted. Eventually Ellowyn snapped out of it and realized Zander was with her all the way. The author had me so engrossed in this book that I didn’t want it to end! I was wishing half of the time I was part of Riverwood so I Could help them fight. I CAN NOT WAIT for the next book! I highly recommend reading this series in its entirety, This book does not release until August so go read the 1st two books now!!

Thank you NetGalley & Harlequin Trade Publishing for allowing me to read this ARC.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me a digital ARC.
Truly, Madly, Magically follows Ellowyn, a half human half witch, as she navigates her coven attempts to overthrow the evil ruling coven , all while being pregnant and rekindling a relationship with her high school ex/baby daddy.
I may not have disliked this as much as the first book, but it is definitely still one of my least favorite books this year. The book is far to long and repetitive. You would think Hazel Beck assumes we have short term memory loss, so she has to reiterate things three pages later the whole book. I obviously understand that Ellowyn being a half human is basically the center of the book, but my god is she so annoying about it. To the have her magic block disappear the second she “accepts herself” was the dumbest reveal ever. Also, the final trial with the opposing coven was so lackluster and underwhelming.
This whole series is supposed to be about how love conquers all and I genuinely have not hated characters more. Also, don’t forget Ellowyn now has violet AND sapphire eyes or that she wants to turn her owl into stew.
Zander is a fine MMC, but I can’t get over how the two of them would just have hate sex once every year and it resulted in a child. Accidental pregnancy is my least favorite troupe, so having that be the immediate plot out a major damper on the whole book.
It took me way too long to finish this book and I would not recommend it or the series.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

This book is awful. I read the first in the series and liked it and then I found out there was a second so I read that and it has just gotten progressively worse. This book is so slow. I have been struggling to get through it for a month because the characters are just anger-inducing. The focus in this third book is El and Zander and I don’t know how to describe how exhausting they are. It’s basically like two 15 year olds decide to never grow up, have a baby anyways, and continue dabbling in their toxic relationship. One thing I’ve always loved about humans is their capacity to love and love again and put themselves out there after the broken hearts - but this woman goes against that completely and is so bitter about a breakup that happened a decade earlier even AFTER she’s finally given a perfectly valid explanation for it. Really all is forgiven with the explanation we get so I can’t wrap my mind around her cop-out bologna when she is supposed to be an adult. Also the whole friend group is annoying and El’s alleged best friend (who disappeared for how long) being mad that El didn’t tell her she was pregnant - like she hadn’t even told the father of her child yet - relax, girl, boundaries? She doesn’t owe someone every detail of her life immediately. Just a slow story, starring a woman who is stuck as a stubborn teenager in the body of an adult who is about to give birth. I really don’t like this.

4!!! I was so excited when I got this ARC!! Thank you NetGalley & Harlequin Trade Publishing for the chance to read this and write a review. I also needed a win for me because my first ARC was not great. This was a series I knew and loved.

I read the first two books which focused on Emerson and Rebekah while this book was all about Ellowyn (& Zander). El is half witch half human and her whole life she’s felt less than. Whether it be from other people or something she’s put on herself. This books was big on her kind of coming into her own and I absolutely loved that for her!! Her and Zander were together in high school so that comes back around…do they really hate each other??? Read and find out! Each book before this has also been big into the girls really finding out something about their powers, standing up for themselves and for their coven. I really love these ladies and constantly find myself rooting for them. This book was no different. Here they are working towards ascension and fighting the Joywood (again). Great stuff! Lots of twists and turns. Second chance love, ghosts, a statue that comes to life, evil trying to kill her and so much more!!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me this digital ARC to review.

When I was sent this ARC and realized it was the third book in a series, I immediately read the other two books featuring Emerson (Book 1) and Rebekah (Book 2). I love this series! This book features Ellowyn (and Zander). At first Ellowyn was a bit unlikable in my opinion but I grew to really love her once I understood her. I think so far out of the three stories, she has had the most growth.

The story in Truly Madly Magically delves deeper into Ellowyn's history. It explores her relationship with her father's family, Zander, and her own witch-ness. She is forced to understand and accept her half-human status and focus on the strengths from it, rather than her imagined weakness from it. Ellowyn and Zander must also deal with the decade-long resentment spawned from a misunderstanding of what she wanted and Zander's intentions. Through it all, Ellowyn begins to understand that her powers are stronger than she ever imagined and that she and her friends are a threat to the current corrupt ruling coven.

Truly Madly Magically also follows the Riverwood Coven's bid for ascension. They along with the Joywood Coven are called to begin the steps toward the vote which is to take place on Samhein. The Joywood try very hard to weaken the Riverwood through Ellowyn and her self-doubt due to her half-human status. They show their true (dark) colors and witchkind begins to see them for who they really are.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I am looking forward to the next books and mysteries that were alluded to in this and the previous books, such as Georgie's relationship, the "silly little fairy tale," and the significance of newel post.

Full disclosure, when I requested this book, I did not realize it was book 3 in a series. That being said, I loved it anyway. Was I slightly confused about what was going on at the beginning? Absolutely. Regardless, the storyline and characters were intriguing, and I was quickly wrapped up in the main character Ellowyn’s story. Ellowyn, a half-witch who doubts her powers must help her coven as they fight dark magic and attempt to win the support of their fellow witches during the ascension, the process by which a coven is chosen to govern the witch community. This was a page turner with themes of friendship and self-belief woven in. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey and immediately went back to read books 1 and 2 (which were equally as satisfying). I can’t wait to read book 4!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Graydon House for the ARC!

Back to the town of St. Cyprian and the group of witches known collectively as the Riverwood Coven. This is book #3 in the Witchlore series - centering on Ellowyn and Zander and their unfinished business, with the Joywood Coven and their on again off again relationship. The Riverwoods are gearing up for the Ascension while Ellowyn does what she can to protect herself from the onslaught of attacks from the Joywood. There's more than Ellowyn's life in the balance and Jacob works up a ritual that may help all of the Summoners overcome the recent illness that can not be cured. Zander is there, right by Ellowyn, the whole time - undeterred by her attempts to push him away. Could this be like it was when their love was less complicated or will this end badly, again. As the Riverwood make their stand against the evil Joywood Coven truths will be heard and justice is within reach.

I love this series and I was so excited to get to read the ARC on NetGalley! I adore these characters and their quirky personalities. I want to be a part of this story!!

**4.5 stars rounded up to 5**

I absolutely loved the first two books in this series, so when I saw the ARC available on NetGalley, I immediately applied. When I got the e-mail I had been approved, I may have scared my husband by yelling, and then immediately started reading.

This book started off much slower for me than the first two, and I have to admit that I was concerned I wasn't going to like it as much. The beginning of the book felt like Ellowyn was super angsty, and there was so much talk about the drama between her and Zander to the point where it felt like that was all we were talking about. Thankfully, that didn't last the entire book, and about 33% of the way in, it got much, much better.

While this is not my favorite in the series, I did still absolutely love it. I felt like I was there fighting alongside the characters; I found myself talking to them like they could hear me; I was rooting for them and booing the bad guys. The ending has me praying that there will be a fourth book because I need more. What really stinks is that this book doesn't come out until the end of August, so who knows how long I'll have to wait for a 4th book (assuming there is one...please let there be one!)...and patience isn't one of my strong suits.

Do not wait to buy this book - go ahead and pre-order it like I have because you will thank me later. Actually - just buy all 3 books, because you'll want to read them again and again.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for letting me read this ARC, and to Hazel Beck for writing this amazing series.

If you’ve been on the journey through this cozy, witchy romance series with me, you know this is the third instalment and introduces us to the next of the Riverwood Coven; Ellowyn Good.

Ellowyn is only half witch….and has been cursed by her mother to tell the truth. She has never considered herself good enough or as strong as the rest of the coven. So why is the evil ruling coven targeting her?

Told from Ellowyn’s point of View, Truly, Madly, Magically, walks us through the next stage of the Riverwood Coven’s bid to unseat the ruling (evil) coven and save their town…and all witches everywhere. As Ellowyn is targeted, she draws closer to her coven, including Zander, her ex. Now there’s a relationship with baggage. Of course, with everything they hold dear in the balance, Ellowyn is drawn to him i n new ways and will have to learn to trust him again.

I just love these stories. I can’t even put my finger on why. The deep friendship of the Coven, the good versus evil, the romance, the world Beck has created…it’s cozy and hopeful and even in the challenges makes me smile.

Oh my gosh! This series is absolutely one of my favorites of all time! I can’t get enough of it & this is the first time an arc has left me with such a feeling of despair because I have to wait that much longer for the 4th book in the series 😩 The cover is quite stunning. I could stare at it all day. The fomo I have for this fictional town is very very real. And hey it’s in the Midwest 👋🏻 This book is part of the Witchlore series & focuses on Ellowyn, a half-witch cursed to never tell a lie, who is part of the Riverwood coven. Once again they’re up against the Joywood, the ruling coven of witches, & it seems they have their sights set on Ellowyn this time. Forced to face many battles & work together alongside her ex, who is also part of the Riverwood, Ellowyn has her hands full juggling her own feelings of self doubt as well as facing her past & a great deal more.

This book helped me get out of a book slump! Cue the confetti.

Quick Review:
♦︎ Paranormal romance
♦︎ Witches and magic
♦︎ Villains you’ll love to hate (but don't expect any justice)
♦︎ Romance is supposed to be haters to lovers?
🌶/5 Spice (More like half a pepper)
📚 Kinda standalone

Fun, magical, and slightly over-the-top—perfect for paranormal romance fans who don’t mind a little cringe with their spellwork. ✨🧹

Now, let's talk about the "standalone" aspect. This book is technically a standalone, but I’d say it’s 40% standalone, 60% "you might want to read the other books first, but hey, you do you." Which I did do me because I started with this book lol.

One thing I really appreciated? The villains. They were written so well that I actually felt my blood pressure rise in hatred toward them. That’s some good writing right there, so hats off to Hazel Beck. BUT at the end? With the conclusion with the villains? There was literally no justice???? Like the amount of attempted murder, kidnapping, and actual murders and they just poof'd away????? Put the hats back on. SMH.

I have a lot to say about the romance so buckle in:

NOW the romance. Look, I love a good love story as much as the next person, but this one felt… rushed. Apparently the characters spent years saying, "You’re the worst, I hate you," and then suddenly went, "JK, were together now." Where was the buildup? Where was the tension? It was like watching a rom-com on 2x speed— I needed more time to savor the slow burn.

And oh, the descriptions of love. Sweet Hecate, it was like sitting through a college lecture on the Philosophy of Love 101. The author kept trying to define love in every possible way, using metaphors that ranged from poetic to "okay, we get it, love is complicated." By the end, I felt like I’d written a dissertation on the subject. Love is a many-splendored thing, Hazel, but we don’t need a thesaurus to understand it.

Next, let’s talk about the female lead’s supernatural ability to detect the male lead’s presence. And by supernatural, I mean super cringe. This girl could walk into a room and immediately know where he was, like she had some kind of internal GPS specifically tuned to his location. Saw a finger? Oh, that’s definitely his hand. Felt a breeze? That’s his aura, obviously. At one point, I was waiting for her to say, “I smelt the air and I know that breath from anywhere.” Like, be so for real right now.

It got to the point where I half-expected her to start monologuing about how she could sense his heartbeat from three towns over or identify his shadow in a pitch-black room which we borderline got. The constant reminders of how she just knew him were so over-the-top. We get it, you’re connected. You’re soulmates. You’re basically two halves of a magical whole. But do we need to hear about it every five pages?

It’s like the author was trying to hammer home their ~cosmic connection~, but instead of feeling romantic, it just felt repetitive and, dare I say, a little desperate. By the end, I was half-convinced the female lead had a secret side hustle as a bloodhound.

All in all, Truly Madly Magically was a delightful escape into a world of witches, romance, and villainous drama. Despite its flaws, it kept me hooked from start to finish. If you’re a fan of paranormal romances then I suggest this one. Just maybe skip the love lectures and focus on the magic.

Book number 3 in the Witchlore series tells the story of Ellowyn and Zander (finally!!!). Those who have tuned in to the first two books will already know these two have a ~rocky~ past to say the least so I was very curious and excited to dig into that history. But why don’t we throw in a pregnancy too?

That is how the novel starts, Ellowyn contemplating if and how she should tell Zander, her parents, and her coven/best friends. All of this gives her anxiety but especially Zander, who is the dad despite the fact that the two have hated each other for the better part of ten years. But each Beltane night they get together and I guess their magic didn’t stop this oopsie!

Zander and Ellowyn as a couple always intrigued me bc u just KNOW they are going to end up together from book one. But why do they hate each other? We do learn pretty early it has to do with how Zander broke up with her, but it takes us awhile to learn the why. And the why was a bit odd to me but there is a part where I guess he CANT talk about it so that explains why it’s been a mystery for 10 years. Still don’t know if I like it.

But still why the intense animosity? Their arguing (IN PUBLIC) and insults and tension all seemed too over the top for me. Especially after… let me say it again… 10 YEARS. however if you like a good enemies to lover (or lovers to enemies to soon-to-be parents to lovers again?) story this is for you!

I can’t lie aside from the dramatics I did like them as a couple. They have all this history! Maybe that makes their love seem more believable rather than the other two books as everything happens so fast.

The best part though was the witchy drama. What will the Joy Wood do next?? Many many evil things of course. How will the River Wood coven stop them? With teamwork!!! (Sorry I’m cheesy) AND help from a couple ghosts (maybe my favorite characters).

Those who enjoyed the first two, I don’t think you will be disappointed. Those who didn’t enjoy the first two, maybe you found the main characters annoying. While Ellowyn can certainly be annoying in her own way, I found her to be way less obnoxious than Emerson and Rebecca. Give this a chance!

The lil nerd in me is really hoping for a Georgie story next!!!
