When he’s not emotionally abusing his wife, Beth’s husband Joe treats her like she’s invisible. She finds true love with nineteen-year-old Austin, Joe’s son from a former marriage. Austin is a shy college student home for the winter break. He puts Beth high up on a pedestal, worships her.
They have a secret sexual history, and after Austin returns home, their mutual attraction is rekindled. Beth goes through a hellish, emotional roller-coaster because she doesn’t want to hurt Joe. Likewise, she can’t let Austin go.
Beth’s pregnancy complicates matters, adding to the family angst. She hides a heart-breaking secret from Joe while hiding her forbidden love for Austin. Austin doesn’t make it easy for her, either. He tests boundaries, flirts with Beth, gives her the attention she craves, and Beth has a tough time resisting Austin. Then Joe gets dangerously suspicious.
The story escalates on a fateful night when Beth’s secret is discovered. Then a twist is revealed on Joe’s home computer.
A fairly typical love triangle with an atypical conclusion. I hated for the story to end, I loved Ms. Clark’s angsty, witty writing style. It kept me turning the PDF pages! Baby Daddy has an exciting plot with strong characters you love to hate, and brave characters you fall in love with.
Beth is almost invisible to her husband, Joe, and when he does notice her, he belittle's her and tries to control her every move. There's something steamy going on between her Austin, Joe's son from another marriage. It was not all lust, some of it was her desire to be with a younger man.
Beth is holding in a secret that she's dying to get out, and once she does, she doesn't get he reaction she wanted. It involves coming clean, and hurting Joe in the process. Admitting the truth to herself was hard enough, how can she admit it to anyone else.
Things take a turn for the worse when she's caught red handed. At least now she doesn't have to come clean, it's been done for her. Things explode in her face, and her life is changed forever.
This is your typical erotic novel with a very deceiving plot. Which makes for great entertainment, even though it is a little like a typical soap opera. Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed this read, and look forward to the next part.
Imagine that you are married to an emotionally distant, older man, several months pregnant and in love...with your nineteen-year-old stepson. Austin and Beth have a history. Austin has cared for Beth since her marriage to his father, Joe, when Austin was sixteen. During the last year, Austin filled an emotional need Beth had as Joe became more distant until they both succumbed to temptation and their relationship became physical as well as emotional. But, just once. It was only once. Right before Austin left for college. Now he is back, visiting during Christmas break and both are trying to keep their distance from one another. But love and lust are hard to deny and even harder to keep secret. while I did not consider this to be erotica or dark, it did touch on a taboo topic and was a very nice short story. I bet if Ms Clark were to write a longer novel it would be a rocking hot read and really kick some a$$. 3.5 at least.
Following the reading of "Teaching Melody", Emma only is developing as a writer. In "Baby Daddy", sex takes a back seat to a wild love triangle in Beth's life. An overlooked wife, Beth craves more in life. When plot twist after plot twist beautifully comes together in a more than shocking climax, the reader leaves with a sense of completion. While the sex scenes are vivid and perfectly written, the simultaneous story of the four lives intertwining is remarkable.
Beth is pregnant with her stepson’s baby but her husband does not know it in BABY DADDY by Emma Clark. Austin wants to acknowledge the baby as his but Beth does not want to hurt Joe, his dad and her husband. How do they solve this dilemma?
I enjoyed BABY DADDY. It was different and I never expected the ending that occurred. I liked the characters. This is a modern gothic tale. I was creeped out by it.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
A love triangle between a man, his pregnant wife and her baby daddy/stepson. The story unfolds with many twist and a surprising ending. Again the author has an amazing knack for endearing you to the characters within such a small time. I found myself wanting to read more of the happily ever after.
√This book had me on the edge of my seat. It was good all the way through but the last chapter...Holy S**t! My husband walked by while I was reading and said somethink like "you should probably blink soon". I obviously loved it. More light than darkness than her usual reads, but when the dark made an appearance...what an impact!
Sorry to say but this was a waste of time to read, harsh? Perhaps but the story was confusing had no kind of depth to it at all and I'm more confused as to what it's about now then I was at the start 🙁
