Easy does it

Joseph Campbell realizes that one has to eat to stay alive which means something has to die. He says it is monstrous. However, we need to get over it and realize that is the nature of things.

For the rest of us, there are other reasons for going vegetarian and cornering the poor carrot that can not run from us. This book is dedicated to the attitude that “you are what you eat.”

It is not easy or wise to go cold turkey per-say. And this book helps us both physically and psychologically to become the svelte vegetarian that we all long to be.

The process is divided into three stages including 15 steps. The book includes over 200 recipes.

So you do become a social outcast there are strategies for feeding the archaic meat-eaters at the same time.

All in all, it is a very useful book for treating vegetarianism (much more than just healthy eating) practically and less radically.

There are no pictures of this 297-page book. However, there is a list of recipes and organizations that can help beyond the book.

This is soooo much more than just another cookbook. Author Lisa Tracy fills the first half of the book with reasons some things are good foods and others are bad for you. She explains the basics behind being a vegetarian and how to make the change to your diet gradually.

I've been a vegetarian for about 10 years. I checked this particular book out so many times, I eventually broke down and bought myself a copy. Some of the recipes from this book have become my family's favorites, like the split pea soup, potage a la bonne femme, and carrot-cabbage stir-fry.

The book is in two part : one is theory about traditional nutrtion and phases to approach vegetarianism; the second is about recipes.
A good book for a general backgroung and approach to change your nutrition.

This terrific book sets out an eating plan with three levels: moving towards vegetarianism, mostly vegetarian, and full on vegetarian. Included are simply but tasty recipes for each phase. Tracy's recipes are delicious and easy to make. This is an especially good book for anyone who would like to eat more like a vegetarian but isn't at the point of going all the way.
