Can a single mom survive and find love in a new and exciting alien world?
Nancy: One moment, I’m a single mom picking up my four-year-old daughter from daycare, the next, we’re shooting toward an alien planet in a space pod, crashing far from Earth. So much for giving my little girl the Christmas she’s been dreaming of. At this rate, we’ll be lucky to survive the next twenty-four hours.
Then a big, blue-skinned alien scoops us up in his arms and takes us to a lush, tropical paradise where he settles us into his home. If I didn’t keep catching him gazing at me with longing, I’d think this stoic guy was a confirmed loner. When he helps us bring Christmas to this strange new world, all to please me and my daughter, I begin to wonder if life here might not be so bad after all. But I was burned in the past. Do I dare trust my heart to someone new?
Khol: My clan didn’t need to banish me. I did it myself, settling on an uninhabited island where I resigned myself to being alone for the rest of my days. But then a ship crashes near my home. I rush there to salvage what I can, only to rescue a woman and her child. As I help them settle into my home, I start wondering if a male such as me is deserving of a life full of love.
I’m falling for Nancy, but I must atone for my past. If I give her and her daughter the holiday they crave, will I be worthy of a new chance at joy?
Khol is part of the Rescued by the Alien shared world and the Brides of the Zuldrux Warriors Series, and is a cozy/steamy romance with a lonely but determined hero and a woman who hopes to build a new, better life for herself and her young daughter. Expect heat, heart, and holiday fun.
Brides of the Zuldrux Warriors in Craved by the Alien Beast Treasured by the Alien Rogue Claimed by the Alien Barbarian Khol (part of the Rescued by the Alien Holiday Series) Cherished by the Alien Outlaw Adored by the Alien Warlord
AVA ROSS fell for men with unusual features when she first watched Star Wars, where alien creatures have gone mainstream. She lives in New England with her husband (who is sadly not an alien, though he is still cute in his own way), her kids, and assorted pets, including a yorkie pup and three cats.
A human lady and her daughter get abducted from Earth and dropped on a distant planet. Fortunately for them, the tropical island they get dumped on has a protective (and lonely) alien making his home there. While Khol doesn't feel he deserves a mate thanks to some not-so-great events in his past, he's more than willing to do anything he needs to do to make Nancy and Flora feel safe and cared for while on his island.
Oh, that whole "doesn't deserve a mate thing"? Khol has it in his head that Nancy would be better off with the other humans on the planet and is making plans to take her and Flora to them even though a big part of him REALLY doesn't want to let them go.
So, yeah. Holidays in the tropics with a protective alien male who is trying to shove his own wants down because he doesn't feel he's worthy. Nancy might have built a wall or two around her heart, but Khol's kindness and willingness to always put her and Flora first start to chip away at said wall pretty quickly.
A glorious tropical island, a helpful water spirit, a holiday to remember, a male who has to face his past, and a lady who will do whatever she needs to do to keep her daughter safe. As it turns out, Khol can do just that. *thumbs up*
𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖/𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒: I am currently reading the Zuldrux series, so I had to side-step over to this collaboration series to read Khol, which is connected to Ava's Zuldrux series.
This is a bit of a shorter read but not too short. It's honestly a very sweet, relaxing read for the holidays. Featuring a single mom and the Fated Mates trope that is so prevalent in this series.
This was a much more light and fluffy read with a simple straightforward storyline, not much drama if any at all. With just a nice little touch of spice to make it fun.
I really enjoyed this easy fun little read and I think if you're looking for something shorter, and perfect to cozy up with, this is great!
💙 “You’re mine. To love and to adore until our dying day.” ~~~ Nancy is an incredible woman! She’s kind and incredibly caring, understanding and compassionate. Even more, I loved her resilience and strength. And she’s an amazing single mother, too! Nancy is absolutely wonderful and I loved her so, so much!
And Khol is one absolutely spectacular male! He’s kind, selfless, caring and incredibly thoughtful and considerate. He’s a really wonderful male who’s been through so much and I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Nancy and Khol! Days before Christmas, Nancy and her daughter are taken by robocops and end up on a Zuldrux island, where Khol has exiled himself after the loss of his mate. I loved Khol and Nancy together! Both have been through so much and were hesitant to open their hearts to love again, but their attraction was strong right from the start. Even more, they were so sweet and I loved that together they made sure to give Nancy’s daughter a wonderful Christmas. And Khol was so wonderful and nice with little Flora! And the more time Nancy and Khol spent getting to know one another, the more their hearts opened to the new possibilities. And, when they finally gave into their feelings, the passionate moments they shared were both sweet and so hot! Nancy and Khol were truly meant for each other and, after everything they went through, they more than deserved happiness, family and a second chance at love!
Overall, Khol is a cozy, sweet and heartwarming story with really wonderful characters!
Nancy and her four year old daughter, Flora, are drugged and flown to an alien planet. They awaken when their pod lands in an ocean and are immediately set upon by what she refers to as "sharknados.”Khol happens to be fishing from the shore and rescues the two females. He is living in self-isolation due to the shame of falling in love with his best friend’s intended mate and her subsequent death.
Nancy and Khol are marked with fated mate symbols. She can’t accept this and also has a hard time believing in the water gods/spirits that fulfill their every need. She and Flora introduce Khol to the magic of Christmas and he indulges them whole-heartedly. Meanwhile, both he and Nancy are succumbing to the idea of becoming partners. Double dicks! Double your pleasure, double your fun. (You have to be really old to get this reference)
Khol talks about flying on a ryvar that he had to leave behind when he left the Dastalon (Sky) Clan. They later discover his best friend, Nevarn, is now mated to a human woman named Kerry and living in the Indigan clan. Why did Nevarn relocate? Was it voluntary? I assume he too would have had to abandon his ryvar which Khol indicated had caused him some grief.
Mustn’t forget that purple is the dominant color of this planet. I wonder if Khol ever found out what Nancy meant when she spoke of sucking up needles.

I enjoyed this alien–human, size difference single mom holiday romance. It had a wonderful mix of sweet, spicy, humor, and real life issues. The world building was detailed enough to make it believable but also pliable enough to allow details to be fleshed out in later books. Khol is an alien on the planet Zuldrux. He banished himself from his old sky clan and as a result he is now a clan of one on an island. Nancy is a single human mom to 4 yo Flora. They are kidnapped and drugged by one of earth’s robocops. When she wakes up, she and Flora are in a crystal chamber being hurtled through space, ultimately landing in the sea on Zuldrux. After Khol saves her and a mating mark appears on both their arms, he believes the water spirit sent Nancy as his true mate. To get to their HEA, Khol and Amanda need to let go of their past pain and accept the gift of true love. Despite how they meet, this is not a dubcon or noncon situation. Khol and Nancy’s relationship develops organically without forced intimacy as they spend time together including making a Christmas celebration for Flora. The book included characters with depth, good world building and an interesting storyline. 3.5 stars.
This is such a sweet sweet read. Khol is without a doubt a most caring and selfless male, who deserves so much more. Fortunately the water spirit think so too.
Ripped from their world, Nancy and her four year old daughter Flora are rescued by a tall blue handsome male. Khol and Nancy both have baggage to deal with, but with the help from the water spirit they learn to accept the life they now have and make every moment count with Flora and providing the best life possible for her. The instant attraction and connection they both feel makes you all warm and fuzzy inside.
This is such a heartwarming story with truly amazing characters. Their love as unexpected as it may be is a Christmas miracle in the making. 💜💜
Nancy and her daughter are taken by the robo cops and eventually put in a pod that's heading to Zuldrux. The pod crashes and they are swept up by a big blue alien? OMG. Nancy's been hurt in the past- does she dare try to connect? Khol lives alone on the island by choice. When he saves Nancy and her daughter he's confronted with uncertainty. Does he deserve a family and love? And Kohl's desire to give Nancy and her daughter the best Christmas ever is so sweet. Ava gives us an amazing story full of terror, love, fear of opening up the heart again, and steam. Her characters are richly developed and the plot twists will keep those pages turning. And it's part of a great shared world: Brides of the Zuldrux Warriors by various authors.
Khol is the fourth book in the Brides of Zuldrux Series and is a novella in the Rescued by the Alien Series. This is in collaboration with 6 other best selling sci-fi romance authors. The story was a face-paced sweet sci-fi romance between exiled Zuldrux alien Khol and human Nancy. Nancy and her daughter are kidnapped from Earth and are stranded on a new planet just before Christmas. This was an enjoyable second chance at love with a found family cozy read, just in time to put any reader in that Christmas holiday spirit! I can't wait to read the next book in the Bride's of Zuldrux series and I'm definitely going to read the other books in the Rescued by the Aliens series.
I enjoyed that we have a single mom MFC and her four year old daughter. Anytime authors challenge youth and beauty standards, I'm happy.
“Good looks didn’t last forever. A body changed over time. There was no stopping age and with it came wrinkles and gray hair.”
However, it's not that good looks don't last forever. It's just youth that doesn't. Who's to say gray hair and wrinkles aren't good looking? I think the MFC would get there with age.
I appreciated that this story challenged the idea that we can only truly love one person in a lifetime.
I had not read about the Zuldrux before so they're on my list now.
Khol is so unbelievably sweet! Nancy is ripped from Earth by the robocops and taken to Zuldrux to be mate to one of the Warriors and her 4 year old Flora comes along for the ride. Both Khol and Nancy are hurt deeply by things that happened their lives and either think they don't deserve love or afraid to try for it. As they work to give Flora the best Christmas ever their hearts begin to open to the possibilities. This is such a feel good story with wonderful characters. I especially loved Flora, she kept me smiling. I completely enjoyed this sweet Christmas story.
Kohl by Ava Ross is part of the Rescued by the Aliens Holiday Tails series. Nancy and daughter are rounded up by te robocops on earth and sent to the Zuldrux whose women have mostly died off ad who can only produce male heirs. She and Flora wind up on Kohl’s tropical island where he’s separated himself away after having list his mate three years prior. Can he forgive himself for his part in his mate’s death and accept the gift of the water spirits to enjoy a new family? Lovely story that brings Christmas to life for them all.
I was absolutely thrilled to reconnect with Khol from the series "Brides of the Zukdrux Warriors!" I can’t express how delighted I am that he’s finally found his own happily ever after! This book is a captivating holiday tale that beautifully explores the theme of second chances at love, not just for Khol, but also for Nancy and her adorable little girl, Flora.
I was completely swept away by the story, and the ending left me grinning from ear to ear, filled with joy over the happiness they discovered together. It truly turned out to be a Merry Christmas for all of them!
Nancy and her daughter Flora are on their way home from daycare, and ready to have a small but merry Christmas, when robocops abduct them. Next thing they know, they’re on another planet, their space capsule landing in water with a “sharknado” attacking it. Suddenly, there’s a very large blue alien there to save them. He introduces himself as Khol. As Nancy, her daughter Flora, and Kohl get to know on another, they find some similarities in their histories and perhaps some promise of a shared future.
Khol has a bad first love experience. He lost her and so he finds himself on an island with only the water gods as his companion. That is until something falls from the sky and he goes and helps a female and her young daughter to shore. Nancy and her daughter Flora get arrested by robocops and find themselves on an alien planet. In a purple seas with an alien shark coming for them. Until a blue alien male comes to their rescue. As Christmas approaches they will work together to not only make a great Christmas for Flora but to even heal both their past relationship scares.
And touching story of single mother brought to planet to be a mate of Khol. Liked the pairing and how sensitive his character is. Great pairing. Only thing I would have done is edit out the comments about vacation spot and add more of vist and them going back with others to settle with new homes. Oh and possibly honor some requests to bring family and pets to new homes. Bet there the author can write story of women with several siblings, Aunts, uncles, grandparents that would benefit and live new place.
This was such a great addition to the series and I loved how sweet and heartwarming it was. Khol and Nancy have a lot of baggage to deal with but they get help to accept the life they now have. Together, they make every moment count with her daughter, Flora, and I loved seeing them together as a family. Expect to get caught up in the drama, healing, connection and steam as they work their way to a wonderful HEA :D
This read is truly a Christmas holiday treat! Bravo Ava Ross, including in this series a single mother story…add the heroine’s name, Nancy, and my love for this book is complete! (Few authors use the name Nancy❤️) The plot was a solid delightful romance that melted my heart. Grab your blue skinned Santa read and you will get into the holiday spirit immediately. ( This grinch did😁) Download and enjoy❤️❤️❤️
This book was wonderful! Khol, Nancy were both damaged by their pasts. Khol needed redemption, and Nancy needed a trustworthy male to protect her heart. Flora was a sweet addition in need of a daddy to love her. They all got what they needed most from each other. I had not read any of the Zuldrux Warriors Series, but I absolutely will be reading it now! This world was quirky and fun, and who wouldn’t want a water spirit around? This story was the perfect Christmas hug!
Nancy and her daughter Flora find themselves in a pod on an alien planet. Khol, a big blue alien, saves them from a water beast and so begins their romance. Both Nancy and Khol had past romances that had made them protect their hearts. Flora is a sweet little girl who wants a daddy and Christmas so both Nancy and Khol plan a special Christmas for her and fall in love during the process. This is a beautiful and heartwarming story with romance, a child's love of Christmas, and family.
This is a really unique world that Ava Ross has created. Not sure how these spirits or gods actually work, but I wouldn't mind living there. Khol is an amazing character and the fact that Nancy is sent with her daughter makes it even more engaging. Little Flora is so cute. I loved all the various aspects of this world and how sweet there story is. Looking forward to reading the Brides series.
Rescued by the Alien - 7 books in this series, all of them are to be released - November 8, 2024 - ❌ LASHE by Ella Blake - ❌ PYNE (Rescued by the Aien) by Alana Khan - ❌KHOL by Ava Ross - ❌ GYFT : A Sci-Fi Holiday Romance by Rena Marks - ❌ KLAZ : Rescued by the Alien by Ava York - ❌ KRINGL : A Sci-Fi Holiday Romance by Tana Stone - ❌ RUDI : A Sci-Fi Holiday Romance by Honey Phillips -
Khol by Ava Ross is a sweet sci-fi romance with a HEA. This is part of her Zuldrux Warrior series as well as the multiauthor, Rescued by the Alien Holiday series. This is such a lovely story about 2 people who have suffered so much coming together to build something new, showing each that they are worthy of forgiveness and love.
A woman is transported to another planet where she is found by her fated mate. What makes this story standout is that Nancy is not alone, she is with her adorable daughter Flora who adds so much to the story. Great holiday read!!!!
I enjoyed this book. It was a different kind of romantic read. No danger for the couple, just a sweet "getting to know one another" romance. It had me smiling all the while I was reading it. It was also cute when a blue Santa showed up. A cute plotline with a HEA.
I absolutely loved Khol's and Nancy's story. Had me turning the pages. Flora was so cute. Though my favorite part was the ending, when they went to the other clan. I also liked learning more about the 'Gods'. I was correct about them...
I loved the way the characters Kohl and Nancy had overcome old relationships to trust in each other. Flora was an absolute delight. Romantic and lovely story!
Khol and Nancy OMG, this One is just so good I wanted to cry. I just love christmas stories and with kids? Khol is the sweetest male ever and he makes Nancy Change her mind about the male species in general. Such a good storie about redemption, family and love. I just love these warriors.
My favorite part of these “holiday specials” is that it exposes the reader to series that already are written. I cannot wait to start the full series by Ava!!
Poorly written, cheesy lines. Classic MMC I don’t deserve love and martyr syndrome and FMC I can’t trust anybody and will not accept any help. Or rather begrudgingly accept it but be an asshole about it.
