THAT CLIFFHANGER?!?! You're telling me I have to wait until April to get answers?! I'm dying here. Literally dying. I'm really liking every character in this series. Especially the dog.

I loved it!! I read the 1st one right before this and was happy I didn't have to wait to read the 2nd book. I couldn't put it down. 100% recommend!

Adrian hired Brynn for an administration position. She was shocked to learn his name after she had been a sub for him at. As weeks passed Brynn had made some social connections at work. She felt she was doing well with work, but still wasn't completely comfortable around Adrian. One evening, Brynn was reading one of Blair's journals that detailed more about her activities at the Lotus. There was a list of subs names, server names, phone numbers, and the date they were last seen. Was this why Blair was dead? Was she working undercover? Then she read an entry about EREBUS69. She was shocked that her sister had been in love with Adrian.
Adrian breaking his self-imposed rules. Brynn even convinced Adrian to decorate his home for Christmas. She invited Adrian to dinner. While Brynn was cleaning up, Adrian perused her decor. He was actually feeling relaxed until he saw Blair in a picture. Brynn had never told him about her relationship with Blair. It became obvious that they were sisters. He felt betrayed by Brynn and Adrian became enraged. Brynn was frightened by Adrian's sudden aggression; if not for her devoted pit bull, would Adrian have hurt her?
Why couldn't Adrian let anyone close to him? Adrian felt guilty for Aria and Blair's deaths. He believes he murdered people without remembering any of it. His mixed signals were difficult to understand, and I felt empathy for Brynn's unease at work. One minute Adrian would make it seem as though he wanted her, then he would act as though she didn't exist. I found her optimism during the holidays, despite Adrian's lack of participation, was a bright moment throughout the story. Adrian's sleepwalking seems to coincide with not properly grieving his sister's death. The suspense in this book kept me fully immersed in the unpredictable plot. I liked seeing the alternating point of view between Adrian and Brynn. Adrian's obsession and Brynn's necessity to find what could have led to her sister's death were heavy focal points in the book. The ending left me eager to read the sequel. I have to find out if Adrian was a killer or if he was a victim of circumstance. I can't decide which one because there are so many factors that have been added to this story. There is no denying the rating of five stars for this romance novel.

After leaving us hanging at the end of book one, I dove headfirst into this sequel, eager to unravel the mystery of who murdered Brynn’s sister, Blair, and to see the sizzling, forbidden affair between Brynn and Adrian unfold further. But just when you think you’ve got a handle on the chaos, Anise and Taylor turn the tables again, delivering twist after shocking twist that left me breathless. With Brynn now working as Adrian’s administrative assistant, the stakes couldn’t be higher. The conflict of interest is palpable, and it doesn’t take long for the tension between them to crackle to life. Adrian’s struggle to separate Brynn from her alter ego, Karma, creates a whirlwind of confusion, not just for Brynn. One moment, he’s the aloof, professional boss, and the next, he’s all-consuming passion, throwing Brynn into a maddening cycle of second-guessing his every move. The truth is that Adrian doesn’t seem to know what he wants either, as his carefully constructed rules crumble whenever Brynn is near. Watching Adrian wrestle with his inner demons and the dark secret he’s been hiding was utterly captivating. His ordered life slowly spirals out of control, and every interaction with Brynn pushes him closer to the edge. But Brynn isn’t entirely innocent—she’s guarding an explosive secret of her own. The way their relationship teeters on the brink of disaster kept me glued to every page. Though the mystery of Blair’s murder took a back seat to the fiery, tumultuous relationship between Adrian and Brynn in this installment, it simmered quietly in the background, waiting to pounce. When it finally resurfaced in the climax, it delivered yet another gasp-worthy twist, setting the stage for another nail-biting cliffhanger until all is revealed. If you’re ready for a story packed with passion, secrets, and surprises, this one will leave you hungry for more!

The second installment in the Dark Lotus Trilogy was just as intense, dark, and deeply entrenched in the BDSM lifestyle. To fully appreciate the story, it's essential to read the first book, Shadows in The Dark, beforehand. I devoured the first book and did the same with this one, but the twists and turns in this installment were unparalleled. Brynn Davis's new job at Benedict Technologies took an unexpected turn when she discovered her boss was Adrian, the man she had been involved with at LOTUS. As Brynn navigated her new role as Adrian's executive assistant, she also sought to uncover the truth about her sister's murder and Adrian's secretive past. Adrian, however, found himself breaking his own rules and risking his carefully controlled lifestyle for Brynn. As their relationship evolved, secrets threatened to tear them apart, and just when things seemed to be settling, a shocking turn of events changed everything. I'm eagerly anticipating the third book, Promises in the Dark. This trilogy has been a favorite of mine so far. The story continues to follow Brynn and Adrian as their relationship deepens, but their secrets risk destroying everything. Adrian's rules, which he once adhered to so strictly, are now being broken for Brynn, who wants more than just a submissive role. I found myself racing through the pages to see if my theories about the deaths at Karma, Adrian's past, and Brynn's sister's murder were correct, only to be left with a cliffhanger. I thoroughly enjoyed the continued storyline from the first book, learning more about the characters and becoming increasingly invested in the mystery and drama. The authors' ability to craft a trilogy that flows seamlessly is impressive, making it easy to forget that two different authors are behind the work.

I waited too long for this book! I’m also loving this Dark Lotus Series. Book 2 Whispers in the Dark brings the reader back to the world they loved in Book 1. And I have to give credit where credit is due, these two authors writing this book together have done a phenomenal job. The reader gets pulled in, while their character development speaks for itself.
Brynn and Adrian are back and things are getting weird. Adrian reveals his true identity to Brynn. He brings her in as one of his employees. Which is totally against his rules when it comes to the Lotus club. Will they be able to stay away from each other and be professional during the day?
She was furious with him when he said he had alternative motives when hiring her, beside keeping her safe, yet he has kept his distance and remained cold towards her. However when he broke that distance he couldn’t take it any longer. He took what he needed and decided he needed to keep professional space. They haven’t even been to the club to scene.
Will Adrian be able to restrain himself?
Or does he take what he wants?
Outside of all that Brynn is still trying to figure out who got her sister killed. Digging deep into her diaries and seeing if she can piece it all together. She knows her sister was undercover, but why?
She knows her sister was catching feelings but will she find the answer.
These questions and so many more related questions will keep rolling through as you read their story.
The biggest two being, is Brynn truly safe?
And will Adrian finally figure out who Brynn really is?

Brynn is still thinking about EREBUS but when she is interviewed for a job she is shocked to come face to face with Adrian Aka EREBUS. With both trying to come to terms with this Brynn works her way and creates contacts with his world of work, she feels she is achieving a lot within work but is still unsure what the relationship between her and Adrian will be like.
One night while reading her sister’s journals she discovers a list of Clients within the pages with some information, surely this information would not have got her killed and what was she collecting it for. As she reads on, she comes across a passage which her sister writes about EURBUS69 and how much she wanted him. Was her sister in love with Adrian?
As Brynn discovers more and more about the club, she is weary about who to trust, but when Adrian discovers that she is Blair’s sister his world is thrown into turmoil and Brynn is worried and should fear this man who seems to have been involved more than she thought with her sister.
This is the second book in this series and to be honest you really need to start with the first book before reading this one. Brynee was still dealing with the murder of her sister and putting her life back together after her encounter with Randell, her old boss. Starting her new job at Benedict Technologies Brynee could never imagine her new boss would be the same man who she had been having sex with at the adult club Lotus. As the weeks pass, Brynee shows Adrian that she is meant to have the job as his administrative assistant. At night Brynee was still diving deep into her sister Blair’s journals, still learning the side of her sister she had no clue about. As the weeks pass Brynee gets under Adrian’s skin. Getting him to do things no other woman has ever been able to do. No one at Lotus knew his real name, he had never taken a woman on a date, no woman had ever stepped foot into his penthouse, and certainly, no woman had ever made him fall in love with them. But love had no place in his life. Not after what he has done in his life. After Brynee and Adrian were still on shaky ground after a misunderstanding, Adrian felt the two needed a night at Lotus, especially after Brynee had been distant all day at work. Brynee had been distant because one of the other girls from Lotus had hinted that Adrain had enjoyed himself at Lotus with someone other than Brynee. After Brynee and Adrian's encounter at Lotus, Brynee overheard a disturbing conversation.
All I can say is OH MY GOD!! I thought the first book in this series was dark, twisted, and steamy, this book is next level!! Ending on a cliff hanger, the author leaves you on the edge of your seat desperately needing the next book in the series. I can’t wait to read Promises in the Dark!

Whispers in the Dark is Book Two in the Dark Lotus Trilogy. If you have not yet read book one, I highly recommend that you do because it introduces you to the characters and gives you the back story. This second book picks up where the first book left off and ends with a cliff hanger. It is necessary to read the third book in the series to get the full story because the books are part of a trilogy and are not meant to be read as a standalone. It is a dark romance with mystery, suspense, secrets, drama, love, loss, angst, passion, chemistry, romance and intrigue.
In the first book, Brynn lost her sister and after her loss she started to uncover secrets that her sister was keeping. Adrian has demons that are haunting him and that he is attempting to deal with. There is chemistry between Adrian and Brynn that nearly explodes off the pages. The two have a push pull relationship which complicates the chemistry. As much as Adrian wants Brynn, he also tends to push her away because he fears letting her get too close to him. His biggest fear is that she might leave because of the secrets he is hiding. Brynn is very attracted to him, but he makes it increasingly difficult for her to get close to him. In the second instalment even more secrets are revealed making things a bit more complicated. The authors have meticulously weaved a story that will leave you wanting more. This is a beautifully crafted story with a very complex storyline that is full of darkness, pain, secrets, passion, chemistry danger, angst, drama, and dark desires. If you haven't read book one (Shadows in the Dark) yet then do not read this one! Please get the first book and read it before this one! You will not regret it and you don't be lost when certain names or events are mentioned. Just trust me!! Lol. Okay onto the book! Like I mentioned before, this is book two in this series. And it is so good!! I was worried how these would tie together as the first was left in a really good spot. Boy oh boy was I not disappointed! I can't wait to read book three in April (2025)! In this book you are still following Adrian's and Brynn's story. He has broken some many of his own rules that the lines are blurred so much that they might as well not exist! But he can't help it. He is drawn to Brynn. She comforts him. Sees him. But she doesn't see all (yet). He is still keeping some HUGE secrets and when she finds out, all hell is going to break loose. She craves him. She even loves him. But she can't figure out why he won't let her in more. Oh is she about too, and then she'll wish she didn't know! Can he save what he has destroyed? And will she give him a chance to explain, let alone forgive him?! Secrets in the dark always come to light! Problem is, she's keeping a secret too!! When their betrayals are outed, what will become of them? This is a billionaire romance, steamy, mystery, drama, erotic suspense. And it is so good!!!! This book ends on a cliffhanger and yes you will be mad, but it will have you reaching for book 3 quick! I know I can't wait!

The excitement to dive into this book was unmatched, I flew through book one of this trilogy and did the same with this! However, the loops this book takes you through are unmatched!
Brynn Davis was excited to be starting a new job with Benedict Technologies only to find out her Boss was non other than the man she had been subbing with at LOTUS! Despite the shock she took on the role of Adrian’s executive assistant and proceeded to ensure her performance at work was perfect. Brynn, while still trying to figure out who murdered her sister, also wanted to find out more about the ever so secretive Adrian.
Adrian broke all the rules that HE set in place to ensure not only his safety but the safety of others as well. Struggling to understand why he continued to break the rules when it came to Brynn, he still proceeds to pursue her despite all the uncharted waters he was getting himself into. He was slowly losing his very controlled lifestyle, and that unnerved him.
The trajectory changes of their relationship uncovered some truths that caused a lot of feelings and tension in both their work and after-hours life. Things were starting to level out when things took a turn in the wrong direction!

The trajectory changes of their relationship uncovered some truths that caused a lot of feelings and tension in both their work and after-hours life. Things were starting to level out when things took a turn in the wrong direction!
I AM DYING to read book 3, Promises in the Dark. This has been one of my favorite trilogies so far!

Brynn has Adrian breaking almost every rule he has set for himself. He allowed her to discover his name and who he is. Adrian takes her in his office. Adrian kisses her. Everyday it gets harder to keep his secrets from her. Brynn wants to tell him who she is but doesn’t want to lose this opportunity to work for Adrian and to be this close.
When Adrian finds out Brynn’s secret, it rocks his world. He works hard to keep his monster at bay. To keep Brynn safe, Adrian runs away on business. When Adrian returns, his monster slips and shows itself to Brynn, only she doesn’t realize what it was. When tragedy happens, Brynn receives a phone call that she has been waiting on. There is news about her sister’s murder.
This was a fabulous middle to this trilogy. The angst between Adrian and Brynn only builds. I know I am going to be wrong but all I keep thinking while Adrian talks about the incidents is that he didn’t do it. That someone is taking advantage of his sleepwalking. But I guess I will have to read the 3rd book to find out. Can’t wait. If the writing is as good as this one, it is going to be one heck of a ride!

This is the second book in the Dark Lotus Trilogy. As this is a trilogy I do recommend reading these books in order so you get the full and complete story. This is a steamy contemporary romance with elements of BDSM lifestyle, secrets, mystery, and a complex storyline. The story is so captivating that I couldn't help getting lost in it. The characters are so different but work so well together.
Brynn is still coming to terms with losing her sister, as she deals with her grief she starts to embrace the life of a submissive just as her sister had done. Things start to change when she realises her new boss is also her new dom. How will their relationship change? Can they keep it professional in the workplace?
There is also a secret on the horizon and secret that could blow everything apart for Brynn and Adrian.
Adrian has took a big step by allowing Brynn to enter his company. Now she knows who he is beyond the Dom she knows him as. He has never revealed his true identity to a sub before so why has he with her? Adrian is also a man haunted by his demons, demons which means he keeps his guard up and never breaks his own rules, so the puzzling thing is why is he for Brynn? And what will happen when he finds out the connection between Blair and Brynn.
Omg the cliffhanger. I am so exited to read the next book to find out what happens and how it will all unfold.

Park of the Dark Lotus series get comfortable you put it down until the last page has been turned. Brynn was hired as an administrator lived an average life, doing everyday things, until her sister passed, and she started reading her dairy one night subbing in the lotus under the very man who is her boss. Adrian sexy as all get out man with a lot of secrets lives a controlled life, craves the control, he suffers with sleepwalking not dealing with his own sister’s death keeping everything all bottled up inside hint all the needed control, and the lotus helps keep everything in perspective. Until one beautiful women started fulfilling that need Brynn was everything he needed but they were both hurting from losing someone dear to them but he didn’t realize that she was related to Blair until he was invited over for the holidays and saw a picture of the two of them together and it set him off scaring her setting a very tense setting for them but where are they headed, will he redeem himself, will he be able to explain why he reacted so strongly to a picture of her sister, will she understand, did he kill her sister or know who killed her sister, will they find out who killed both their sister’s, and is there some form of happiness for the two of them somewhere alone the way?

Lord my heart, my heart. The skill of both Anise Storm and Taylor L. Ray to make not just a single book but a trilogy of books that flow so easily you forget it’s written by two different authors is astonishing. With that if you have not read book one, Shadows in the Dark, STOP NOW. This book is a continuation of book one and ends in a cliffhanger that will continue in the final book. Dual perspective of Adrian and Brynn.
This one we continue to see who Adrian and Brynn are. Adrian confessed but things aren’t adding up and Brynn is determined to find the answers. To discover the truth of who killed her sister and why. This is a trilogy and includes cliffhangers. You need to read book 1 first.
In the second book, Brynn and Adrian become more involved. She is working as his personal assistant and their sexual relationship continues. They both have secrets they are keeping. Adrian discovers who Brynn is.
This is a real page turner with the suspense. It could do with a little less brooding and self-castigation by Adrian but he IS a tortured soul who feels he doesn’t deserve anything good.
In this book they both reveal their own secret, but their problems still need to be resolved.
This is an well written story with a good plot. I had to wonder why Brynn wouldn’t start reading her sister’s diaries backwards from the date of her death hoping they would give her a clue to what could have happened to her. For such a bright, capable admin this just wasn’t logical. I look forward to the final book to wrap this up and see if my suspicions are right.
If you are looking for a strong steamy romantic suspense with a twist, I encourage you to read this trilogy.

This hot and steamy romance continues the story of Brynn and Adrian. As their relationship continues to progress, their secrets risk tearing them apart. When Adrian was in previous dom/sub situationships, he stuck to his “rules”…but with Brynn, those rules fly out the window. She craves to be more than just a sub from Karma to him. This book had me flipping through the pages so fast to see if my predictions with the deaths at Karma, Adrian and who killed Brynn’s sister were right….and then I hit the cliffhanger and BAM to be continued!!
I really enjoyed the continued storyline from book one, learning more about Brynn, Adrian and those around them. The twists, turns and mystery really sucks you in, leaving a craving to find out everything! I love how every emotion is triggered by the mystery and drama, the love and steamy parts, the anger and happiness and sadness all in one story….that is what keeps my wheels turning and I love it. This one definitely has me on the edge of my seat and I cannot wait for book three!.

Note to myself: Must NOT read trilogies or such before all books are published. Cliffhangers are painful and waiting for the next book will be torture!
I'm pretty sure I had the very same thought after reading the first book in the Dark Lotus series. And yet, here I am.
What can I say? The story of Brynn and Adrian is just utterly inescapable and after Shadows in the Dark I was hooked.
Whispers in the Dark was a big surprise since the setting and feeling of this entire storyline are so different to the first book. My two words to describe this one are 'routine' and 'conflict'. Shadows in the Dark was sensual und full of suspense whereas Whispers in the Dark shows more of an everyday life between Brynn and Adrian. But don't fear. There is still plenty of spice withing the book. Because how 'everyday' can it really get between those two?! ;)
Even though book number two seems a lot tamer I still enjoyed every single page. I absolutely adore these two complex characters and this story with its many unanswered questions.
I've marked my calendar for April, when all will be revealed... Hopefully.

Whispers In The Dark is the second book in the Dark Lotus Series and Holy Cow what a hot and steamy Dark Romance. Just when I thought this series couldn’t get any better than the first book boy was I freaking wrong. This author sure knows how pull you in and get you all tied up to where you have no choice but to devour the whole book in one sitting. I highly recommend reading this series in order and if you haven’t already started book one go now and grab it. This story picks up from the first book . My goodness I don’t even know where to start. Adrian and Brynn my oh my these two have explosive chemistry and the scenes are detailed and steamy. There are secrets, drama, betrayal, danger, and suspense with a dash of hot and sexy. What will happen when secrets come to surface? Can Adrian get what he wants but don’t realize it yet? In fear ill give to much away I’m going to stop. I can’t recommend reading this book enough especially if you want to know what happens next. I’m ready for book three right now. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

All I can say is, OH WOW! I can't wait until the next book is published to see how the cliffhanger from this book plays out between Brynn and Adrian.

This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the first book. It is a series that keeps getting better and better with each book. I highly suggest reading all the previous books in this series as well to help with the enjoyment of this author’s creative writing skills. I enjoy how this author has the ability to pull me into the story from the start. Their attention to details brings the story to life as well as keeping it engaging. This is a story of secrets and betrayals. A story about two people who have wanted to be with each other and now that they are, their secrets could just be what keeps them apart. I enjoyed Adrian and Brynn. They are strong characters that have great growth and chemistry. Their attraction is off the charts which made their story easy to read. Their story is a little darker and it is one that is hard to put down. It is a fast paced, engaging story that you don’t want to miss. It kept me turning pages fast to the end. I really enjoyed their story and I highly recommend it.

Whispers In The Dark continues from the cliffhanger in Book One. Brynn walks into the CEO's office at her new job at BT Tech and, to her horror, finds Adrian, her Dom from the Lotus Club, behind the desk. They seem to make things work, and Adrian finds himself liking Brynn more and more, which has never happened before. Then, he finds a link between Brynn and someone from his past. Will this break them apart now she's been lying to him in his eyes? The authors keep you turning the pages and on the edge of your seat with all the twists and turns that come along.

It's a twisted ride....
The book is written very well. This was the second book to the series. Adrian and Blair's relationship has gone through many ups and downs... This is a mystery read and this second book delves into the mystery of Adrian's struggle with his issues. Blair is proving to be a proficient assistant and this becomes the focus of this part of the story. I felt the story is drawn out in this second book however. Although the spice is there it's just not fitting into the story and this effects the flow of those scenes. It ends on another cliffy that I thought could have been avoided by adding it to the second story and making some of the events less drawn out. However the few negative things I feel certainly does not effect my overall positive experience with this story. This couple is hot for each other are meant to be together. I am hoping that the next book isn't drawn out and gives them and us the HEA I love in a dark romance. I'm very happy to give this book 5 stars! Whispers in the Dark is an effortless read that is filled with sex, mystery, and suspense. This is the second book in the series about Adrian and Brynn. Adrian is a successful CEO who loves control and executes that in all areas of his life. In the beginning, he is hiring a new secretary, Brynn, who he has a history with, from a BDSM club they have frequented. This complicates the relationship and lines get crossed. However, each one of them also has secrets that are being kept. The relationship is going deeper than each of them has ever expected, but the secrets are making honesty and future perspectives difficult. What truly sets this book apart is its depth of character development. Each character is complex and relatable (feeling of want, guilt, etc), which makes it easy to be invested in their story and build the relationship. The dynamics between characters were filled with chemistry, angst, and pure emotion. I am truly invested in this story, and the fact that it ends with many unanswered questions, I can’t wait for the next read.

Every moment of his day and aspect of his life is controlled. This keeps the darkness contained. He lets it out to play at Club Lotus. Since Brynn has entered his life, things have changed. She’s the light in the dark. He’s attracted like a moth to a flame. For the first time, he is making exceptions to his rules for her. She has brought chaos and thrown him so far out of his comfort zone. Try as he might, he cannot stay away. Skeletons in the closet will always be found.
This was an amazing book. I love Brynn as the main character. I think she is brave, honest and strong. She has an inner strength that many people don’t have. As confusing as it was for Adrian, it was nice to see him stepping out of his box. As a warning, the book does end on a cliffhanger. Can I just say, OMG what an ending! Can’t wait to read the next book.

I was hooked from start to finish by this contemporary romance with a BDSM theme. Having met at BDSM club Dark Lotus, Adrian and Brynn are in a complex relationship as not only is Adrian her Dom but he’s also her boss. Adrian has broken his number one rule regarding submissive by employing Brynn as his PA, as she now knows his real identity. However, they are both keeping secrets which when they are discovered will change everything between them. The chemistry between Brynn and Adrian sizzles off the page and leads to some rather steamy scenes. I love how their relationship develops throughout the story and how their Dom/sub dynamic plays out both at the club and at work. I wish I had realised that this is the second book in a trilogy, as I feel they do need to be read in order for a better understanding of the characters backstory. However, I was gripped from page one and was kept happily turning the pages. I am now impatiently waiting for the third book in the series after THAT cliffhanger ending!!!
