Raised by the Cheyenne, the silver-haired beauty named Starfire knows nothing of her past life, her childhood as Elizabeth Pennington Richmond. The Cheyenne are her people and their ways are hers. So when the tall blond stranger steps out of the darkness and carries her off into the night, she fights him with all of her strength. Terrified, she has no idea that he has been sent to rescue her after all these years. In the darkness of night, Logan Cord has not gotten a good look at the young woman he has been sent to rescue. As he watches her sleeping in the slowly brightening light of the dawn, his breath catches at the sight of her beauty. Then, her eyes open to reveal their startling violet fury, and she turns on him with teeth bared. Not realizing the adventure ahead of them, Starfire and Logan embark on a journey of self-discovery, danger, . . . and love.

Just ok.

Logan Cord is a bored rich man from Missouri and Colerado who enjoys taking time out and assuming the identity of Tracker, a friend of the Indians.

He is hired to retrieve Elizabeth Richmond from a Cheyenne tribe that had kidnapped her when she was 3 .

He kidnaps WildStar on her wedding night and carries her away. They spend a month an a cave hiding out. She is initially hostile and seeks to escape. he wants her from the first moment he sees her and almost rapes her on one occasion. When a Cheyenne war party come into sight, he ties her hands behind her back and attaches the rope to her neck, threatening that it will throttle her if she struggles too hard. WildStar is left in the dark with a rattle snake and can not move. When he returns he kills the snake and tries to comfort her. One thing leads to another and Tracker finds this the perfect moment for a seduction. From then on they are in love ( I wanted to vomit)

He takes her to Denver to meet up with the lawyer who hired him. The whole thing is a set up organised by Brent Holloway, villain.

WildStar is kidnapped again and Tracker/ Logan spends endless months searching for her unsuccessfully.

He gets news that he has been married by proxy to the granddaughter of Pennington a wealthy citizen of St Louis. Logan is furious and for 3 months refuses to meet her ( oh, who could she be!?!)

Elizabeth has spent the last 3 months being mesmerised into forgetting her past and her time with the Cheyenne. She is unaware of Brent's villainy and thinks she is in love with him. She wants her marriage to Logan to be annulled.

Anyway, they finally meet and Logan turns Cave Man and starts snogging her in the drawing room in front of everyone. She doesn't remember him from Adam and is somewhat put out. We have a couple of weeks of the will she/ won't she start to care for him and after Brent is once more sent on his way with short shrift, the marriage is consummated and all is well.

That is, until Two Bears comes to visit and our heroine gets her memory back. Then we have more angst as she refuses to stay with the White man and wants to return to her tribe. This goes on for ages and given how well she had previously adapted just seemed OTT and annoying.

Logan gives in in the end and they go to meet up with the Cheyenne, where there is an inevitable confrontation with the Brave whom she was to have married ( this came as a big shock to our heroine - I suppose she's not exactly the brightest?)
Afterwards she agrees to return to civilisation but there is a further confrontation with Brent and the Brave and the bad guys eventually get what they deserve.

It was hard to care.

The writing was fine but the whole thing was a bit of a struggle.

Not at keeper.

Entertaining but too many eye rolling moments. Hero was besotted, obsessed, crazy in love….my favourite trope, hence the high rating.

If you like sex on every other page then book is for you!!

The story line sounded pretty good so as I got in to it I stayed with it for awhile . But it turns out the protagonist is a kidnapper and a sex feaned.
I stopped reading it a quarter of the way thru it.

Too dramatic. Elizabeth is immature and painfully naive. Logan is an arrogant, wealthy jerk. Treats woman like trash. He grew up privileged and resents his father. Not a lot to admire here. I ended up skimming to the end at the halfway point.
