From bestselling creator Nagabe (The Girl From the Other Side) comes an anthropomorphic Boys' Love manga about dark, unspoken desires and the delicious temptation to give in.
Professor Lufria has a secret: he finds pleasure in watching others eat. As a strict and intimidating law professor, this wolf hides his unusual obsession behind a stern demeanor. But when one of his students dares to bite him, it awakens a hunger deep inside him. This time, it's not just about food--it's about passion, intimacy, and the thrill of being devoured. Will Lufria give in to his primal desires, or will he be left endlessly craving for more?
He studied Fine Arts at Musashino University. At first, he was more interested in illustration, printmaking, and painting than in manga. However, when he considered the best way to make a living from his art, he decided to focus on the world of Japanese comics and trained himself, rather than the usual approach of working for several years as an apprentice to an experienced manga artist.
He was still a student when his first work, The Boss Is an Onee, was published. He soon attracted attention for his distinctive drawing style, his fantastical and melancholic plots, and his use of fantasy characters and anthropomorphic animals.

Look, I went into this knowing it was likely going to be a little weird, and a little weird is exactly what I got.
I love Nagabe's art style, there is something very delicate and slightly haunting about it which fit the vibe of this story perfectly.
Lufria, the strict, straight laced, wolf law professor has a dark secret. Following a childhood attack when he was bitten, Lufria now harbors a dark sexual craving to be bitten, eaten and devoured. Lufria meets his match when he encounters Gulla, the large herbivore with an even larger appetite and his student. Lufria finds himself being drawn to Gulla with increasingly vivid fantasies of being consumed.
I feel like honestly it was a bit too short and surface level for me to get my teeth into it (har har get it) and I had a moment when I side eyed it, wondering if it was too weird to carry on with, but who am I kidding, I don't think I've ever found something that was ACTUALLY too weird so I'll probably still read the next volume.
Not wanting to put a spotlight on anyone..... but Hannigram fans..... Y'all might like this.
Yea I don't think I'm the intended audience for this one. I thought that the idea of it was cool especially when I think about the stigmas that often come with kinks; however, I don't think there was enough discussion about the impact of assault and PTSD on physical intimacy. The ending was really weird and I wasn't a fan of how certain topics were handled.
We're diving deep into cannibalism themes here but with a brilliant twist where the prey becomes the predator and vice versa. The way it explores consumption, power and survival is legitimately mesmerizing. And the ART? Absolutely Stunning!! Perfectly matches the dark, visceral tone of the story.
Don't go in expecting romance, this is more like a psychological horror feast. I've seen plenty of "biting" tropes, but rarely one that commits this fully to the literal and metaphorical act of eating. It's disturbing, thought-provoking, and beautifully executed.
My only complaint? IT'S TOO SHORT! I could've devoured three more volumes of this unsettling masterpiece.
Idk about you guys, but I absolutely DEVOURED this! The writing and artstyle are both delicious as heck. I really wish it had been a full series instead of a oneshot though. (it ended abruptly at the most random ass point) I wanted to read more about these characters and not being able to, made me feel unsatisfied. Also, oh fuck.. Lufria is SO HOT!!
"The feeling of being eaten. The sensation of fear and pain… the sense that my life is in danger. My mind is well aware that this isn’t healthy behavior… but the joy suffusing my body utterly overrides it."
People may not want to admit it but we all have a kink. Some are weirder than others but we listen and we don’t judge. Mine? I’d rather not say…
I’ve been waiting for a new book by Nagabe for too long and they certainly deliver with this one. Not what I was expecting after reading GftOS but I really enjoyed this. It definitely had me smirking. I can’t wait to see what else this series has to offer.
Buddy read! Everyone in this book needs to be put in jail. Liza and Gulla? Jail. Lufria? Seek therapy. My friend read this to me and by the time we finished, we both felt like the author had missed a chance to create a story representing a SA victim dealing with trauma. Neither of us could decide what the intention really was, it seemed like it was just to write something fucking weird, and that is exactly what this is.
Beastars if it was freakier. Lost a few points because he didn't actually get eaten at the end. I did appreciate it was the herbivore doing the devouring, but they didn't really go anywhere with that subversion. I also thought after the initial meeting the plot didn't really go anywhere; it was just them running into each other over and over and the same 'omg I want to be eaten' scene playing out again and again until it ended. With all that said it was a fun read.
This was a really fast read. It has a bit of an odd metaphor for love that may not jive well with people. The "I want to devour my love" trope. I think it's a unique way to tell a romance, personally. It also shows off one's kinks and desires, as well. I think that's rarer to find in romance these days, so I appreciated that. I didn't really like how abruptly it ended, though it did make me think about what it was like to be in the closet. I can't really fault the characters for their feelings. I thought this was a good read, but I have no idea who I'd recommend it to. Nagabe has fantastic art and is writing very unique stories. I fell kind of in the middle on this one, but I enjoyed my time.
Absolutely died of laughter with this one! It's an anthropomorphic boys love, which makes it a fun and interesting read. The law professor and student dynamic had me saying “that's the sound of the police” but like, they're both adults in a sticky tricky situation and any battery or assault instance is acknowledged between parties. Luckily it's fiction or both would see a worser fate. Overall a fun read, definitely recommend it to mature audiences.
This is about a guy that loves to eat and a guy that wants to be eaten. This was a highly anticipated read for me. I really love Nagabe's writing, but there's just something about this one that didn't click with me. I just wanted a little more from the relationship although this isn't really a romance. It's more about like carnal desire and trauma. I just think it could've done more.
(buddy read!!) rating: 3.5… closer to 4 but I had some issues with it.
For the most part of the book I really enjoyed it. It has a very cool concept, but I think it could’ve been executed better! From my own perspective, this manga had potential to be a very good representation of an SA victim dealing with their trauma. Whether or not this was the intentional outcome is unclear, but it seemed to be a big metaphor for that. It had potential but fell short because of Gulla’s character. It was like the author couldn’t make their mind up about whether or not he was supposed to be a romantic interest or some kind of toxic relationship? I don’t know, I really enjoyed this manga but the end was very disappointing. I’d recommend it only for the concept/storyline. (Hannibal x Beastars kind of thing!!! Just wish it was done better!)

Haven't read something so intriguing in a while! I've seen the biting/eating types but rarely the ones about actually eating and the idea of killing. It is best not to expect any romance, but the art and themes are impressive. The way it portrays desire and fetishes, dominance and submission is so GOOD. nagabe does a great job.😍😍😍😍😍
4'5 Homoerotic cannibalism at its peak.
Maybe 2.5-2.75 ⭐️? I didn’t really know what to expect but I love Nagabe’s art. “The Girl from the Other Side” is the most beautiful manga series I’ve encountered. I was excited to see this new one and didn’t really know if this was going to be a series or stand alone. I believe it’s a stand alone but I wasn’t satisfied with the ending. Obviously the topic is a little strange and it is adult content. It was an interesting read but I wasn’t satisfied with how the story was resolved; it felt like there needed to be more.
A not so subtle allegory about navigating kinks that stem from trauma, and finding a partner that not only accepts them but also takes part in it with you. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer, because I felt like there was more to explore and discuss.
•Anthropomorphic animals (Zootopia, Beastars) •Teacher x Student (Not a huge age gap, but there is one) •Carnivore x Herbivore (As it is in most anthropomorphic animal books) •Carnivore has a kink for watching people eat… he also dreams of being devoured.
This definitely gave off furry food porn at times, but what does that say about me that I kinda loved it.
Me gustó bastante, la trama me llamaba mucho y el dibujo es lindo. Sin embargo pensé que iba a agarrar por otro lado y por eso no me enloqueció tanto como esperaba. También rari cómo tratan el tema del trauma
Definitely the darkest thing Nagabe has written although I feel like this says very little by the end of the book. Although as always beautiful world and inspire character design a plenty.
very strange but you can’t say it’s weirder than expected. it delivers what it says on the tin. i just think maybe it ought to have been a little longer…
