Prior to his first professional work, Tynion was a student of Scott Snyder's at Sarah Lawrence College. A few years later, he worked as for Vertigo as Fables editor Shelly Bond's intern. In late 2011, with DC deciding to give Batman (written by Snyder) a back up feature, Tynion was brought in by request of Snyder to script the back ups he had plotted. Tynion would later do the same with the Batman Annual #1, which was also co-plotted by Snyder. Beginning in September 2012, with DC's 0 issue month for the New 52, Tynion will be writing Talon, with art by Guillem March. In early 2013 it was announced that he'd take over writing duties for Red Hood and the Outlaws in April.

Tynion is also currently one of the writers in a rotating team in the weekly Batman Eternal series.

An excellent volume.

Volume 2, like the previous volume has great characters, world, and plot. The art style is amazing and is a visual treat.

A particular high point in this volume was Clements issue, it had me tearing up! I also loved the Halloween special, in particular the 'Halloween' story.

This was a great conclusion to the first arc of this story, and I'm so happy that there's not too long of a wait for the start of the next arc: "Children of the Night"!

4.5 ⭐️ A seriously fun, action packed fantasy series with MLM MCs.

I enjoyed volume one of this and volume two didn’t let me down either. I absolutely love the classic horror connections in this and how they’re worked into the plot.

All in all a great series if you love comics like Wynd.

I can’t fault the art or storyline at all, other than the fact at points there are a whole lot of plot lines going on.

Rep// White MLM MC, Black MLM MC, BIPOC Woman MC, MLM SCs, WLW SC. Central romances are MLM/achillian.

TWs listed below, please skip if you don’t want vague spoilers.

TW// Burns, fire, self harm, religion as a guise for harm, killing of innocents en masse due to being non human, blood, injury, bodies, death, death of a loved one, murder.

Six months after defeating the Helwing Corps, Christopher and friends are trying to figure out what’s next. Christopher mostly wants to figure out where he himself came from and what type of monster he is really. But all is not safe. Something is happening with the werewolves in town, and the Helwing Corps haven’t gone away completely. What will the Monster Club do next?

An excellent continuation of this graphic novel with classic monsters re-imagined for the modern age. It’s interesting to see our characters try to figure out what they want to do next. Curious to see what happens next.

I like the characters and oddball adventures of Tynion's colorful, creative mind. I enjoyed this second volume more than the first volume. I can't wait to read volume three.

In the aftermath of the first arc (and skipping the Adam Frankenstein backstory arc for a later collection, presumably), Christopher Chaos and the rest of the Monster Club try to put the Monster Underground back together after Hellwing and his hunters tried to destroy it. But some Russian werewolves arrive looking for revenge, and a much bigger problem grows on the horizon.

I love this book a lot. It's cute, Isaac Goodhart's is gorgeous, and the characters are a lot of fun. There's a big, wide world to be explored, and it feels like Tynion IV and Tate Brombal are peeling back the layers little by little here as things escalate. This volume ends at the end of this first series, but there's definitely a lot more to dig into going forward as we relaunch as Children Of Night.

Love this series and have hard copies of the physical volumes. The art, story and characters continue to entertain. I bought and reviewed each of the individual issues prior to this release so I won't focus on any of that. Instead, I'll focus on why I love having the collections. It makes it so much easier to revisit issues or moments in the story and you often get extras. Collected volumes is where you can find alternate covers, pinup art, rough drafts or black and white sketches plus some behind the scenes from the creators. It's all the fun special features we used to get when buying a DVD or Blu-ray of a favorite movie or show. I'm hopeful they'll keep compiling and printing volumes like this for the fans.

Volume 2 loses steam as it struggles to find a direction. Some of Tynion's recent stuff is just looking to get to a point. This is one of those. Thankfully, the characters are still interesting and Goodheart's art is very good.
