Livia Jamerlan is the author of Divided. She is also a hopeless romantic who is always looking for her next love story to pop in her head. Though Livia kept a journal throughout her early life, she never thought about pursuing a career in writing. She always used it as form of therapy, pouring her heart out into words. It wasn’t until a story developed in her head that she decided maybe she could write a book. At first it was just an escape from reality, but now she uses it as a power to put all her feelings, hopes, and fears on paper. Deciding it was time to tell her story, she began to write. With each passing day the story grew, characters were formed, and what seemed like a hobby at first has now become a passion for Livia.

She is a New Jersey Native who loves spending time with her husband and two dogs Buddy and Daisy. When she is not writing or hiding behind her Kindle, you can find her with outside, gardening, at a local shopping center enjoying some retail therapy, or enjoy a pepperoni pizza.

Afraid this was a DNF. This just didn't work for me and as my blog buddy Gitte put it:
"Sometimes sexy talk from the first meeting with the male lead is just creepy and less is more."

Example...this, all in the first 6%

"Your pussy needs to be licked and sucked. Maybe then you would learn how to say thank you when a man buys you a drink."

~

"Your c**t smells delicious, love."

~

"And I'm doing just fine in the sex departments."

"You must have your departments confused, doll. I bet you your pussy is dripping wet for me right now."

WOW... erotica at it's best!! Sexy, steamy, and oh so riveting!

I loved Divided (Livia's debut book) so I was excited to start Consensual and read a different genre from her. She nailed it!! There was so much emotion starting right from the prologue and you really get a feel for what main character Braelynn had to endure growing up.

Don't even get me started on Haas... Oh-MY-God, the mouth on this man! He could met the panties off of anyone, just by opening his mouth and he knows it too! As much as Braelynn tries to stay away from him, their paths keep crossing and he seems to be everywhere she goes- which leads to some explosive chemistry!

This is a series, so it does end with some unresolved issues, but it is NOT a cliffy! I can't wait for book two!

SPOILER ALERT***** THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW MAY REVEAL THINGS ABOUT THE PLOT****

It looks like I'm the only one who had an issue with the emotional back story that conflicts with the sexual one. I wish I didn't feel so strongly, but I want to give my honest opinion even if it's completely different from the others.

It starts out with a gripping prologue that I was completely sucked into. It made me feel for the main character Braelynn right away and that emotional momentum continued until our hero hot stranger Haas, or Peyton Haas arrives for a meet cute that includes sliding his hand up to remove her panties in the middle of a club. It was hot, don't get me wrong, but after just building up a sensitive sexual history and getting me into her emotional baggage it was difficult to watch her fizzle in his asshole hands.

To be fair Braelynn does try to stand her ground with his actions, for a minute, but it's because she thinks he's married, and then it's because she doesn't want to ruin her new legal career, but it never seems to connect to her sexual history. The problem for me? Throughout the book the issue of rape sparks a protective vibe from Braelynn's friend's that foreshadows there's even more to her past then the prologue revealed. It ruined it for me. I could tell she was a victim. Rape is a tricky thing to use as an emotional scar when you've brought in the alpha of all alphas.

Peyton has a hot mouth on him for sure, and is a very sexy, rich man who gets what he wants. He makes it known over and over that he "will" get what he wants even though she's trying to resist. I just couldn't connect with her when this guy was the one. Without the rape and incest in her past I could have devoured their chemistry in bliss. Their small world of Manhattan was way too connected as they run into each other everywhere, everyday all of the sudden, but I'm really glad I continued the book because Peyton does end up revealing other sides to him that makes him a very interesting man. Their emotional love story started to grip me about 3/4 of the way in so by the end I was wanting more.

The sex scenes are creative and REALLY sticky steamy and eventually a real emotional connection forms between Peyton and Braelynn that I loved. The main story line revolves around her new law internship right before she's due to take her bar exam. The first case she wants to make her mark on had me engaged the whole time, giving twists and turns to keep the pages turning. It was the main reason I kept reading because I had to know how it ends, and since it's a series, I'll just have to wait to find out more. I am looking forward to the next book despite my struggle because now the love story and drama have grown into a good place. There are lots of twists and turns ahead for these two and I can't wait to read them.

This book was such a pleasant surprise! I had never heard of the author before, hadn't really heard much about the book and only really glanced at the blurb, so when I read the book and fell in love with it, I was delighted.

After being in a big book funk, this was a real treat. The book starts you off with a bang. Going back to her past, Braelynn describes horrific scenes that would greet her night after night. Her sister being raped by their uncle. I don't feel like this is a spoiler as it happens in the prologue. The scene is horrible and really clues you in to how the rest of the book will go.

Fast forward to the present and Braelynn is in the final stages of her lawyer training, trying to put the past behind her. Whilst on the job, she meets another hot shot lawyer, Peyton, a self confessed playboy and hot as hell. Neither of them are looking for anything serious, but neither of them can deny each other either. I loved their relationship. It was almost comical to watch them keep denying themselves, all the while knowing they could never really stay away from each other.
"He was out of my league. He smelled like forbidden fruit- the kind you bite into and then let the succulent juices slide down the side of your mouth.”

I did really like the characters, but at times I had real issues with Braelynn. Whilst I understood her reservations completely, given the life she has lead, I couldn't help but want to shake her on occasion. Peyton was always there for her, always willing to go at her speed and take it as slow as she likes, but sometimes that still wasn't good enough for her. It occasionally got to the point where she was childish with it. Like I said it got slightly irritating, but not to the point where I wanted to give up.
"When he was near, I couldn't make my body move in any other direction but toward him. Even so, I knew that if I didn't stop playing with fire, he would be my downfall."

The real kicker for me was the end. There was a cliffhanger! The story really kicked in towards the end, I saw where it was going but thought I would get a lot of the story.. nope! It ended and I have to wait for the next book. That's fine with me though, I love to get stuck in to a series and I can't wait to see where the book goes next.

Excellent read. Could not put it down. Peyton Haas is a dirty, dirty and might I say again dirty boy.

My favorite line? "You came to the gala last night with another guy. I got to fuck you at the gala in the conference room upstairs. Is HE who you're going to take home to meet your mother?" DAMN. The mouth on that boy. Nope, Peyton Haas did not share, FORTUNATELY.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat, as a good book should do. It had dirty sex, mystery, suspense. WOW! Peyton even had split personalities: Peyton, the sweet, loving, tender guy, but in the playroom he was Haas. Haas screwed you until you were sore and passed out from exhaustion, tied your wrists and ankles tight until you couldn't feel them anymore. Peyton was the one who brought the washcloth and tenderly cleaned you up and tucked you into bed. WHOA. And let me tell you Hass did anything, everything and then some in between! Made my toes tingle just reading this book.

What stranger in a club says, "You need to be licked and sucked to appreciate a drink from a man?" OH - that must have been his alter ego, Haas. My bad.

I am eagerly anticipating the 2nd book. Should be a mind blower. The mystery awaits!

OMG what a incredibly hot, sexy read. This story has completely blown me away.

I loved Livia Jamerlan debut novel, Divided. I have been eagerly waiting her next book and couldn't wait to read Consensual. Luckily I wasn't let down. The book was amazing. Livia's writing style is great. She writes things in a that you can get engage in the book and with the characters easily. It was a privilege to read this story.
Braelynn Wolf is only focused on 2 things - work and law school. She believes this is her only way to survive and the only way she can make a difference. That is until she meets Peyton Haas. He is the defence attorney that is working on Braelynn's first legal case. Braelynn feels a connection with Peyton instantly. She has never felt this way about anyone before and she is struggling to stay away from Him. She finds herself lying to those around her on a regular basis just so she can be close to Peyton.
Braelynn is a very surprising character. I didn't connect with her instantly. It did take me a few chapters to understand her a little and see where she was coming from in the way she was acting. I did eventually love Braelynn . She had a lot of sides to her personality and it takes awhile for you to see her clearly. I loved how witty she was and admired her for going after what she wanted.
Peyton is OMG hot!!!!! He's sexy, forbidden and dangerous. I wasn't sure how his character was going to play out ....is he good or bad for Braelynn?? I loved the suspense of not knowing where the author was going to take his character and the suspense of not knowing how the story would end. He's powerful, interesting and someone I can defiantly picture as my new Book Boyfriend.
The sex scenes were incredibly hot. They will leave you very hot under the collar. I loved that even though there were a few sex scenes in the story, the author didn't let them takeover the book or takeaway from the story like sometimes sex scenes do.
Livia Jamerlan has created great characters that you can enjoy reading about . She manages to easily pull you in to the book and their lives and make you feel like your living your live along side Peyton and Braelynn.
I read the whole book in one sitting and I couldn't read it fast enough.
The only down side is that I felt I was left with a few unanswered questions at the end if the book. I'd if lived a few more chapters just to tie if all up nicely.
Over all a great book, that has blown all over books in its genre out the window.

Consensual by Livia Jamerlan

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Braelynn Wolf has fought hard for everything she has, at an early age she and her sister lost her parents, her sister was victim of abuse, only to spare her sister the same pain. Once her older sister turned 18 the two fled and started their lives over. After college Braelynn secured an internship at of the top firms in New York. Everything was planned, everything was laid out for her, until she met him, Peyton Haas.

Peyton Haas, has been given nearly everything. Coming from one of the wealthiest family he has worked hard to build a life for himself and not just an heir to the family throne. There was no time for love, just quick one night stands. That is exactly what he wanted with Braelynn once he spotted her, but she would prove to be more complicated that just a one time conquest. Once the two realized that he was a the opposing counsel on a case she was helping with any encounters were taboo.

This novel contains sexual content, and abuse and is not meant for anyone under 18. I would best characterize this book as an erotic/suspense novel, and a good one! This is not for the faint of heart again, so if you say that the sexual language made you cringe, then don't read erotica! For me this was an original novel, the drama and criminal case involved added that much more to the story and left me turning the pages. Braelynn isn't the damsel in distress, she is intelligent, and independent, and doesn't want to rely on Peyton to save her, and yet she is terrified to fall for him in fear of getting hurt. The two are steamy, and you really long for them to find a balance so they can be together. Once I was about 3/4's of the way finished with the book, the story really started to amp up and just when you are ready for answers and are wanting more...boom it's over. I had that feeling of "what just happened?? I need more now!"

This is the first novel that I have read by Livia Jamerlan and it will not be the last, I can't wait to read the next book in this series. If you loved the Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day, I urge you to check this one out! Thank you very much to the author for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Braelynn Wolf is a survivor. She survived a rough childhood, and worked her way to the top of her law school class. She was determined to make herself a success not only for herself, but for her older sister who protected her all those years. She accepts a prestigious law internship, has friends that adore her, and resolves to focus on her career rather than looking for any kind of love.

One night, Braelynn meets a man who infuriates her as much as he turns her on. The fact that he oozes sex as much as he pisses her off frustrates the hell out of her. Braelynn walks away, only to run into him on the opposite side of the case that will set the tone for her entire career. Now, you would think that she would keep her distance, as this man has the potential to ruin everything she’s worked so hard for.

Nope.

Peyton Haas is THAT hot. With only a few sexy words, he can get her to do all kinds of things, even in public places. The man pretty much dripped sex with everything he did and said, and he totally got me as hot and bothered as Braelynn. Haas also saw Braelynn as the challenge he never had. The rich alpha who could have any woman with the simple crook of his finger had to actually work for Braelynn’s affection. They both show each other new worlds that they didn’t think existed, and that neither of them want to leave.

I kept waiting for the inevitable other shoe to drop, as fraternizing with the defending attorney on a case you’re helping to try can’t possibly work out in the end. Plus, Braelynn gets ambitious when this case becomes personal to her, and may end up losing a lot more than just her job.

As frustrated as I got with her, Braelynn was a character to admire. A tough as nails chick with a huge heart – I was scared for how much she may be hurt in the end both professionally and emotionally.
This was a fantastic hot as hell book, and I am on the edge of my seat for book 2!

I was contacted by Livia to read this book in exchange for review. I remember reading the synopsis and thinking, 'yea, it sounds good.' WAS IT EVER!

This book totally caught my attention and kept it! From page 1, I was hooked. Braelynn has had a hard life. Her sister raised her and made sure she stayed on the straight and narrow. Braelynn's dream is to become a lawyer and give victims a voice. She's very focused and has two people in her life that she trusts besides her sister.

Peyton Haas is a hot-shot defense attorney. He's known for his love 'em and leave 'em policy. He doesn't chase women. He doesn't have to. Until he meets her.

Their chance encounter in a bar leaves them both hot and bothered.

The chemistry between them is scorching. The buildup is the ultimate foreplay, and the culmination - when they finally get together - is explosive.

Livia does a great job combining the sex, feelings and a bit of suspense, which I love. I will say, this book ends on a cliffhanger, and book 2 won't be out until October. So if you're going to read it - and YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY READ THIS BOOK - then don't say I didn't warn you!

Wow! What an ending...I need book 2! I've had the privilege of reading this author's work from early on. While her debut was definitely a great story, Livia Jamerlan has raised the bar with Consensual. Warning: this is not your typical hot and steamy read. For one the sex scenes far surpass hot and steamy...how about scolding and blazing. And her main character, Braelynn, surprises you at every turn with her witty intelligence and strive to succeed in her career and her passion to punish the "bad guy."

I cannot wait for the continuation of this series!!!! Hurry up Liv. I want more!

There is no one word to describe this book that would accurately express my feelings on it.
This is one of those books that just gets to you, gets under you skin and into your brain, throwing you into a tailspin. Yes it's that good.

So much so I actually read 70% of the book in one go and it kept me awake until 3am in the morning- yes it's one of those that urges you to keep reading and while your thinking "just one more chapter" you've been lured into connecting with the characters so much you can't put it down. Hence the 3am mark on my clock rolling around before I knew it.

This story grabs you right from the prologue. Now some people have mixed feelings about prologues but personally I like them, I feel I get more insight into the characters. This prologue had my heart strangled and my emotions on high alert from the first paragraph!!
By the time I got to chapter one I was already hooked. The actual story takes place sixteen years after the dates of the prologue and I felt drawn into the books world instantly.

I don't like to give spoilers when leaving reviews as I don't wish to taint the experience of another person reading the same book but I do like to explain how the story affects me and made me feel.

This story really pulled every emotion possible out of me. I felt sorrow, excitement, worry, elation, anger and happiness all in one huge knotted up ball that was heavy within my belly !! A total mired of emotions to deal with. The author really did a number on me emotionally, to the point I felt drained after finishing reading but immensely hungry for more in book 2.

The story explores the no strings attached relationship between Braelynn Wolf and the sexy alpha male lawyer that is Peyton Haas.

I've read a lot of books about alpha males and trust me Peyton Haas is up there with the best of them, he's the sexy alpha "no nonsense" male all us girls swoon for. I mean who doesn't love a sexy hot alpha male? ;)
With His character he's almost like two for the price of one, he has the dominance side, called Haas. Yet author Livia Jamerlan also brought out his softer side in Peyton, his internal struggle with how he usually is with women to how he wants to be with Braelynn is fascinating to see, and see the turmoil he goes through. Kind of like he's two personalities.

But Peyton is the forbidden fruit that Braelynn can't and should not have, however she can't seem to help falling under his spell and consenting to him in his dominant pursuit of her.

Braelynn is just another hot conquest that Peyton wants for the night ......just one night right? He doesn't do the relationship card, he loves them and leaves them, so why can't he seem to do that with Braelynn! ?

This is a new author to me and I have to say in my opinion she nailed this story. It's not your typical alpha meets female and demands her submission, this has depth and a power struggle that keeps you intrigued with this couple. Both Peyton and Braelynn as characters are multi dimensional they both have issues and the both have a realness about them. Add in the mystery and suspense of a court case and it's an explosion of a fantastic book.

Bravo Ms Jamerlan you can be sure I'm heading straight into book two.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Consensual by Livia Jamerlan. The synopsis grabbed my attention and I thought... sure… I’ll take a crack at this one. Wooza… I was not expecting the hotness factor to be off the charts! Like I need a cigarette and I don’t smoke hot! Ms. Jamerlan just drew me into the story and never released me. There were times I thought the story would get a bit cliché but overall I really enjoyed it. I did not know this was a series going in so when I got the ending I was like, ummmm… excuse me…. I think I’m missing pages!! But the ending was a bad cliffy. You just know their story isn’t over. The story is told in dual POV.

Braelynn is a hardworking law student doing housekeeping jobs on the side to get her way through school. Her parents passed away when she was young, she was raised by her older sister how has sacrificed so much to get them where they are now. She just accepted her dream internship at her professor’s law firm and given her first case to brief. Little did she know the opposing lawyer would be the uber hot and sexy Peyton Haas who she had met a couple of nights prior at a club.

“He was out of my league. He smelled like forbidden fruit- the kind you bite into and then let the succulent juices slide down the side of your mouth.”

Haas knew he wanted her but Braelynn doesn’t do one night stands. The chemistry between them is off the charts! She is torn between her heart and her responsibility. She is drawn to him and him to her. Even though they know being together is a huge conflict of interest and can cause Braelynn her internship, they cannot fight the feeling of when they are together.

“When he was near, I couldn’t make my body move in any other direction but toward him. Even so, I knew that if I didn’t stop playing with fire, he could be my downfall. But God, do I yearn to get burned.”

When Braelynn starts to uncover the past of the defendant in the lawsuit, she doesn’t realize how dangerous this man is and works harder to try to piece together his past discretions. When a woman comes forward and agrees to testify against him, Braelynn life is put in danger. What happens next had me turning the pages of my kindle and I needed to get to the end. What will happen with Braelynn and Haas relationship? Will the case break the apart or bring them closer together. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out in the 2nd book. Without the hotness factor I probably would have rated the story at 3.5 stars, but the hot hot hot scenes bumps it up to a 4 star.

Braelynne had one tough upbringing. After her parents died in a car accident, she and her sister Loren went to live with her aunt and uncle. This started a cycle of abuse; sexual for her sister and a life of fear for her. But when Loren turned 18, they got out and made their own way. Loren is ten years older than her and is more like a mother figure than a older sister.

She stressed that Braelynne's education would be the key to her future. She was right and Brae is about to take the bar and is doing an internship that others would kill to have.

In the meantime, Brae cleans houses for extra money. When she's out partying with her best friends Kennedy (who is doing her medical internship) and Gus ( a gorgeous model who has yet to come out of the closet) she meets a hot, very pushy, alpha at the bar. He makes no bones about wanting her. She is attracted in spite of herself and ends up going home with him. Unfortunetly, his home turns out to be one of her cleaning job locations and this guy must be her client's husband. She flees before they get on the elevator.

A few days later, she starts her internship. She and her professor attend a deposition with the defending attorney-who is none other than the guy from the other night. Turns out he is Peyton Haas McAllister, heir to a fortune. He follows her, finds out he is the owner, and no he's far from married. It's only a matter of time until they hook up and things develop between them.

Brae is fact finding for the case they are both working on. Peyton is defending Drew Seymour, who is accused of fraud. Turns out he was charged in four different rape cases, all of which were dropped. Rape is a trigger for Brae and she starts to investigate the older cases.

Things become very dangerous for her and something awful happens to her. The problem is no one believes her. Her job is gone, her own family and friends, most importantly- Haas doubt her story and she is made to look like a danger to herself.

What is the truth? Will anyone find out before it's too late for Brae?

Oh how I love finding new authors to read. One of my favorite things about being a blogger is picking up a book I know nothing about, have no preconceived notions about and just falling into my kindle and getting lost in the storytelling of an author I have yet to read. Sometimes these little risks pay off, sometimes they don’t, but with Livia Jamerlan….this gamble had a huge return. I was engrossed in the pages of Consensual from the very start and it carried through to the end.

Consensual is Braelynn and Peyton’s story. The synopsis does a great job in setting up the story for you and from the moment these two meet it is balls to the walls intense. I love a guy who is confident, sexy, a bit spoiled but yet can’t have the woman he wants. Let him work for it girls! In this case it would be Braelynn. And it is not that these two don’t want each other, it is really that their job won’t allow them to be together. But as we all know rules are meant to be broken and secrets can be hidden under the rug and when these two merge together, hold on because Livia Jamerlan can write some extremely erotic scenes. ( FYI Peyton has a filthy, filthy mouth!)

As the story unfolds and we get to know more about the case Peyton and Braelynn are working on opposing sides of, Ms. Jamerlan hooks you. The legal side of this story was so well developed that for me, the erotic lover, the sex was more the icing on the cake. The plot was strong and captivating and I was on pins and needles waiting to see how it would explode and explode it did.

I am so looking forward to book two. I was left with a few of my questions answered, but I must say I have many more questions that I am looking forward to getting the answers to. I encourage you to read Consensual….I hope you are as consumed with it as much as I was!

I have to let you guys in on a little secret. I don’t like alpha males. Maybe it’s the stubborn, hard-headed part of me, but 90 percent of the time I want to punch alpha males in the face because I personally hate being told what to do. Mind you, this shouldn’t really prejudice me against stories—but sometimes, it does. But shockingly, shockingly this… didn’t happen. Consensual stars a delicious alpha male named Haas, and I am totally rating this book four stars!
I don’t know what it was—Haas seems like a complete jerk for a solid chunk of the book. But I just couldn’t bring myself to want to hit him in the face. And that’s incredibly well-done on Jamerlan’s part. Somehow, she created this character who could have been immensely horrific, but wasn’t. Haas’ and Braelynn’s story was exactly what I expected—a young, enterprising law student gets caught up with a delicious bad-boy attorney and possibly puts her job on the line. But this novel was so much better than that. Both characters grow with one another and make mistakes, but try to do their best to fix things and change for the better, and it’s absolutely wonderful.
My only complaint was that the big twist came in near the end, and when things were getting really good the story ended on a cliffhanger—I almost wish the story was just longer, and everything was resolved in one book. But you can bet your pretty floral bonnet that I will be reading the next in the series so I can find out what happened next!
Read Consensual as soon as possible, Fallers. You won’t be disappointed.

3.5 stars!! Consensual tackles some very sensitive subjects served up with a side of some very, very steamy sex scenes. Braelynn is a very hard working law student who lands a prestigious internship and finds herself working on a major case. Push past the very dirty talk that occurs very early on in the story and you will actually get to an interesting storyline with two very engaging characters.

Peyton Haas is the opposing counsel on the case that Braelynn is working on. I had to take a step back here from the legal part of storyline involving the case, but the plot is very interesting and filled with lots of twists and turns. The chemistry between Peyton and Braelynn is fantastic and he actually has a soft and sweet side to him, to balance out his very strong, sexy and overpowering ways. It could be extremely detrimental to Braelynn’s future legal career to become involved with him, but she finds him irresistible and he is very relentless in his pursuit of her.

There are LOTS of hot scenes in this book and it ends with a twist. The book is surprisingly enjoyable as it unfolds and I would recommend it to others. Peyton Haas really grew on me and I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

So, i have a Friend to thank for the recommendation of this book. Yes I usually trust her word on books, but now im not so sure, this book had me in knots, i dont a 4/5 hour sitting and read from start to finish. YES i was up until 3 in the morning, My intentions were to read a chapter or 2. THAT did not happen ASHLEY HEATHER. But i will thank her for this amazing book.

I gave it 4.5 stars, the 0.5 is because it wasnt long enough, I am not sure what character i LOVE more, Peyton or Braelynn. They are both full of Angst, witt, saddness and full of love with no one to share it with.

A rough start in life for Braelynn sets her on the path of one feisty lady, no one will stand in her way, she works for what she wants and has earned her place to be where she gets and who she is. With the love of friends and her sister she has one thing on her mind, her career, that is until one night celebrating, Peyton spins her head on its Axcel.

Peyton, wants what he can't have, will get what he can't have. And no one will stand in his way... Braelynn is the challenge he wants to take... With troubled pasts on both sides, they take a leap down a rocky slope and hope being with each other will 'mend' them both.

Until one fateful night for Braelynn...

The book was a good read. It didn’t blow me away, but it was an enjoyable book and I did like the main characters and some of the minor ones as well.

Braelynn Wolf doesn’t have time for relationships. There are only two things she needs to focus on: law school and her work. Those are the only things that have brought her comfort in the past. She didn’t expect to fall for Payton Haas, the defense attorney on her first legal case.

Peyton is the defense attorney of Braelynn’s first case. He’s handsome, charming and forbidden and he wants the beautiful Braelynn, who consumes his thoughts. He knows he should stay away from her. Things can get ugly quick, but he can’t stay away from her and their strong connection.

Soon, they’re both risking everything and lying to everyone around them about their relationship. But can Braelynn risk losing Peyton if she chooses her job over their relationship? Or what they have together is enough to keep them together—no matter what their future awaits for them?

I do recommend this book. The plot was interesting and I enjoyed reading about the main characters.

My favorite quotes:

“Holding her felt great. I felt like…like I was f**king screwed.”

“And the award for the person with the worst luck goes to…me!”

Braelynn is working hard to secure her future as a soon-to-be lawyer, but she might have met her match in the defense attorney, Peyton Haas. They first meet in a bar, only to discover that they are opponents on a case later on. Although Peyton turned me off initially because he came on way too strong, he grew on me as the story progressed. Braelynn has her walls up pretty high and Peyton is determined to break through them. Braelynn has been through some rough and traumatizing experiences, all of which fuel her to go above and beyond to fight for justice and to defend innocent victims.

Peyton is very ambitious and independent, he is used to getting what he wants and winning cases. While he comes off incredibly arrogant and confident, he doesn't act like he's above the law or wants to defend criminals. Although Braelynn is inexperienced in many ways compared to Peyton, she has a spark to her that matches Peyton and their chemistry is pretty steamy. They are literally playing with fire, though, as their relationship develops and the lines become more blurred with work, personal affairs and the secrets that they share with one another. The ending opens up a whole new set of questions that will likely be answered in the next book.

Wooo, that ending leaves you wanting to know so much!

Braelynn is smart, beautiful, witty, and hard working. Peyton is intense, says exactly what he’s thinking, and He. Is. Hot! He goes after what he wants, and he wants Braelynn. And OMG his words had my iPad melting. But uh, oh...Peyton is the defense attorney for Braelynn's first legal case at her internship.

This was a good start to this new series. The prologue is emotional and grips you from the start. The story starts out strong and exciting. I would have liked a little more from this story though. There were a lot of coincidences and clichés that really weren't necessary with such a strong storyline. With the prologue so emotional and the way it ties into the current case and Braelynn's life, there is so much potential for this story that I was expecting more. There were some great turns of events that kept you enticed and wanting to know what was going to happen and some very emotional scenes that grip at your heart. The ending was fantastic and will leave you wanting more.

Wow, wow, wow...

My heart is beating so fast. This book is such a complete and utter thrill ride. SO sexy, so fast past, and dying to find out what happened.

This book is fantastic. It has a mix of everything I really enjoy. Braelynn is this determined, smart girl, who plays it safe doesn't let many people in. Her past has really shaped who she is. Until she meets Peyton. Peyton is smart, successful and rich, and he has completely knocked Braelynn off her feet. These to are HOT HOT HOT.. I can see their chemistry just flying of the sheets of this book.

I love watching these to fall in love.... I can not wait for them to come out in the open with their relationship, cause I think it is amazing. But, I totally get why it is hush hush for now.

I don;t like to spoil the book, but I'm at the WTH happens next point, I am so excited to read book number two I cannot stand it. Such a great book, great thrill ride.. Come on book #2

Consensual - Livia Jamerlan 5 big big stars!

Whoa what a book!

After the death of their parents, Loren and her younger sister Braelynn escape an abusive childhood and move to Rhode Island. Loren pushes Brae to study and do well for herself. Brae is studying law and has now landed an amazing internship. On a night out she meets the incredibly sexy, demanding, swoonworthy 'Peyton Haas', who turns out to be the defense lawyer on the case she's working on.

Wow, I really wasn't expecting such a good read I couldn't put this book down, it grabbed me and sucked me in right from the beginning, there was never a dull moment, lots of very unexpected twist and turns and I felt completely transported into the book. I loved how the story unfolded and the hot, irresistible chemistry between them both. I really connected with Brae's friends too and loved them as much as the main characters. This book does finish on a big cliffhanger, I can't wait to get started on book 2 !

There seemed to be a lot of different directions that this book was tying to go towards and sometimes didnt feel like they connect very well. This book went in a completely different direction, for me, after reading the prologue. It wasnt a bad thing, it just took over half way through the book to refer back to what happened. There was a lot of back and fourth between Haas and Braelynn that got old after awhile. This book had a Fifty Shades feel for me, rich man who is into kink and there was certainly a lot of kink through out the book. There were a few choice words used while describing some of the sex scenes that just didn't work for me...ie: "vaginal walls" And this books ends in a big cliffhanger! I would recommend this book to someone.

Peyton is very direct and doesn't mince his words which explains a lot since his chosen profession is a lawyer.

Braelynn is smart, hard-working and funny.

This book is full of coincidences - girl cleans the lawyer's apartment, is an intern on the opposite side of the case, they've never formally met, and then they run into each other at a bar and are instantly attracted to each other.

The writing is phenomenal and flows well. The characters are well written and you connect with them all. Watch out for the mini cliffhanger though - you'll have to wait for the second one to find out what happens! I couldn't put it down!

Wow!! Livia, where is book 2 now??? LOLYou rocked!!!

I LOVED everything about Consensual...It hooked me from page one and I loved how so much happened to the story, but it didn't get flat or boring not even once! I love those kinds of stories, that has an actual story going on and make you live it alongside the characters!

I couldn't get enough and I hated those numbers in the right corner of my kindle telling me I was reaching 90%...
Thank you so much for the ARC and for contacting me!!!

Eu odeio cliffhangers.

Braelynn Wolf is scarred and driven. Peyton Haas is sexy and forbidden. When their worlds collide we have an oh my god, can't put it down emotionally charged sheet scorcher. I was given an ARC in return for an honest opinion, and here it is: Consensual is a not-to-be-missed experience!

Excellent writing, holy hell sexy AF, and with a story that pulled me in from chapter one. Main character had me screaming no! Don't do that! A few times :-)
I don't like cliffhangers and this definitely ends on one, luckily the next book is already published so I'm good!
