Omega Quadrant #4

Appetite for an Alpha

Rate this book
Pierce Lambeau knows a thing or two about loss. It’s the reason he runs Lambeau’s Restaurant, not his older brother, the acclaimed chef and restauranter. After Pierre’s passing, Pierce is handed the responsibility with little to no experience, yet he and his omega give it their all to turn it back into the shining star it was before his brother’s drinking had taken its toll.

Only fate isn’t done taking. Lambeau’s might’ve been his brother’s dream, but it’s all he has left of the two most important people in his life. The next two decades pass in the blink of an eye, with him unable to move out of the past.

Then enters Brett Boyd. Why he hired the beta, Pierce doesn’t know. Brett is all wrong for his well-oiled, fine-dining machine. With his lack of seriousness, smart mouth, and ability to push everyone’s buttons, Brett’s the wrench in the system, threatening the peace and tranquility of Pierce’s day-to-day life.

But maybe that’s the push Pierce needs to drag himself past his losses and be fully present—and maybe learn to accept the gift of a second chance at love.

I was luckily enough to have an advance copy of this book. So, where do I begin?

I absolutely adore this series that Kelex has, and once again we’ve gone on a lovely journey with the characters Brett and Pierce who we met briefly in previous books. Appetite for an Alpha goes on a journey of second chances and finding out what love really is / can become, we start the story with our loveable but sometimes argumentative Brett who appeared to be a rather rambunctious character who is complexed but mostly misunderstood specially by those around him (specially in his place of work). It’s really hard not to fall in love with Brett when reading, you feel so much for him and his troubles and hardships he’s faced and felt at such a young age at the start. Progressing further along with a time skip we ultimately see Brett as trying to be a headstrong and over confident but deeply inside all he wanted was to feel and experience love, real love.

Pierce the Alpha of his story has also had a hard life, and a very rollercoaster of emotions and experiences over his years. Running the restaurant while having someone like Brett on staff, clearly grinds his gears but in away that definitely made the Alpha question and misguided thoughts about Brett. As the story progresses we get to see how Brett tries getting under Pierce skin to make him see that he’s actually good at what he does. While Pierce instinctively kept biting at any bait Brett dishes out, when something occurs to Brett; Pierce is in a complexing position all he wants to do is to protect and care for Brett while also reminding himself that he’s older, he’s also his boss, there is a line that doesn’t and should be crossed.

But as time goes on and things don’t improve, we see how much Pierce deeply cares and worries about Brett. These worries are often brought to Avery (a much beloved character from previous books among others who appeared in this story), Avery could see the way Pierce (and knew his friend also shared the same feelings) was with Brett and also shared the same concerns.

Along this journey we see how Pierce past is affecting the way he’s acting / behaving in the current situation, its heart breaking discovering why Pierce has inaccuracies and how aspects feel like they’re re happening. Both Brett and Pierce are the most unlikely of pairings on paper, but as their story progresses you truly see no matter how different from one another they maybe, they both fit like a puzzle, searching for that piece for things to fall into place.

Both needed to feel the unconditional love you have from a family, both needed to be able to learn to share their insecurities, and they both took the time the other needed and learned how to work together (eventually). It was such a pleasant read to experience these pair, for me it felt like Ying & Yang by the end, this story is a great read if you’re looking for something that is easily readable (I personally couldn’t stop reading) then I highly recommend this story. The journey of these pair rediscovering, and overcoming the obstacles together was such a pleasure to consume. And once again, I simply cannot wait to see where Kelex takes us too next.

such an unexpected story but not bad. I feel like it should have been more of a short story but I guess this works too. Never really gave af about Brett except when I wanted him to be in a throuple but this was sweet. Introducing the latent omega was so interesting and also like adds lore to the power dynamic between AOB. Blaming the omega once again for something he can't control. Also seeing how shit on Brett gets by his family for having been a Beta. I love the peek into his friendship with Avery, they are so sweet with each other. Gray and Avery literally sitting down with Brett and teaching him how to be an omega with literal instructions and coping mechanisms was cracking me upppp. I don't honestly have a ton of thoughts about this one, it was cute and sweet and normcore. Not my thing but the daddy kink came in clutch to spice things up a damn bit. "Outwardly, the world knew him as a disobedient little asshole. No one needed to know deep down, he yearned to be a good little boy-for the right man." When they were in heat and fucking Maurice sound recorded them I would have literally killed myself. I like how Brett had seen all these sides of the restaurant employees and was able to confront Pierce about promoting people and their worth. With how protective alphas are supposed to be, the couples really handle love differences so well. The whole throuple thing with Gray, Rohan, and Jamie and then the understanding Brett has of Pierce's dead omega, Simon. And even middle naming the baby Simon and Pierre, pierce's dead brother is so beautiful. " 'Pierce,' Brett hissed. 'You loved him and still have him in your heart. I don't want you to hide that part of yourself or feel like you can't talk about him for the rest of your life.' 'I don't want to hurt you.' Brett's smile was small and pitiful. 'This is the man you loved first. He'll always be in your heart, and I know that. I accept that. He's a part of you, which means-if I love you, I need to know him. Maybe in time, I can love him a little bit, too.' " I LOVE UNCONVENTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS!!! I saw the sneak peek for the next book is about Tulla don't piss me tf off actually.

4.5 🌟’s loved this book, wasn’t one you needed to read in order to the series but I have and it was nice having the other characters make an appearance. 🤗
I can’t wait for the next one, I have a feeling I will have to go back and read the 2nd book in this series first before I read this next one.

Appetite for an Alpha is the fourth book in the Omega Quadrant series. This book could be read as a standalone but I think the series is best read in order. This is the story of Pierce an alpha and Brett a beta. I fell in love with both of these guys. Pierce has lost so much and Brett is just misunderstood by everyone. Kelex has such a way with pulling you into a story and making you want to support the characters. This is a story about watching people grow and find out what love really can be. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

⭐️5 stars⭐️

Pierce rubbed his thumb over Brett’s lower lip. “I don’t know what I did to deserve this gift of a second chance. And that’s what you are, Brett. A gift.”

Kelex did it again! Another masterpiece in her Omegaverse world. The story is about Brett who we previously met in Avery’s book (his reluctant omega), the beta best friend. He works for handsome Alpha Pierce who owns his own restaurant.

”Good thing i’ve got an appetite,” Brett murmured. “An appetite.. for my handsome, sexy alpha.” He grinned before pressing a kiss to Pierce’s chest.

The two of them have been fighting feelings for each other for years. Their love language is pushing each others buttons. Brett struggles as a beta, but after a doctor’s visit his world is thrown upside down. Pierce lost his omega many years ago and feels like he doesn’t deserve love anyone. Brett for his part feels like he’s not good enough for an alpha like Pierce.

”I am.” Brett whispered. “Pity me. I’m huge and tired and I pee nonstop. I might even be peeing right now. Who knows? I sure don’t.”

I highly enjoyed their story. It’s definitely a HEA and other beloved characters return in this novel. If you love the Omegaverse world, this is definitely for you!

The fourth book in the Omega Quadrant series features Kelex's most stubborn mains ever. Pierce buries himself in getting his restaurant back up to standards after a poor GM destroyed it's reputation. Brett is distrustful of nearly everyone after being kicked out of his family. The two are attracted to each other, but as Brett is 'only' a beta, Pierce can't possibly be his.
Thank god for heat. The sexual tension was so high. The angst level was as well. They both panic when there's a knot. And when Pierce goes all alpha on him, Brett kicks back.
I love a scrappy omega fighting the alphah0le$ of the world. Where he thinks Pierce is being dictatorial, his alpha thinks it's his urge for overprotection. When He tells Brett about Simon and their apartment plans? Break out the tissues. There might be a sniffle or three. A shared heat doesn't solve all their problems, only communication and confirmation of omega status. And the support and advice of friends.
Kelex never disappoints, but I have to say this was one of my favorites. A quick read. I hope there'll be a lot more.
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my review.

I love this series and by the world-building has been fantastic. This book has more emotional angst, but less societal issues. Pierce, an alpha, owns a successful restaurant which keeps him busy. After losing his beloved omega years ago, he has little interest in pursuing any relationships and basically lives a day-by-day existence.

Brett, a beta, is a young man who has worked at Pierce's restaurant for five year. He's headstrong and snarky. Pierce knows he should fire him, but Brett is actually a good worker most of the time. For some reason, Pierce cannot imagine not seeing Brett anymore. He's attracted to him and it seems mutual, but neither man is willing to go beyond flirting since it doesn't seem that a relationship would be viable for long.

This book has some surprising twist and turns. It also has supportive friends and family, as well as a beautiful love. I really enjoyed this book and am highly anticipating the next book in the series.

Always a good read and love the Omergaverse. Following along and after previous well loved characters Brett gets his debut. The blurb gives you the gist of a great tory and Brett and Pierce do the rest. As the true personalities evolve its getting harder for Brett and Pierce to stay away from each other. So the walls go up, as they also come down. There is pushing at the same time as there is pulling. But after a hospital visit all bets are off and nature take matters into her own hands and neither MC can do a dam thing about it. A story of warmth and letting go. Of trust and compromise. Of joy. Loved it !

Another Great One

Well again Kelex has written another great one. Pierce and Brett, the restaurant owner and a server, finally get their story. And what a story it is. Serious, funny, beautiful, amazing, and perfect. Kelex puts the two characters together in a way that’s only Kelex can do. They have a way of making you feel things in the story, whether it’s good or bad, happy or sad, even funny or serious. This is just a perfect example of their writing ability. It totally deserves 5 stars ⭐️ for their review. A job well done. 💜

I have been waiting for Brett and Pierce and so freaking happy this ended up being a full length novel instead of a novella. This is definitely the most lighthearted out of the series so far and it was just what I needed in my reading journey right now. Brett and Pierce had so much sexual tension from Avery’s book and seeing how that played out warmed my heart. Brett was so lovable even when he didn’t think he was but Pierce was there to take care of him. If you love omegaverse, read this series!!

I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I’ll be honest, I went into thinking it would probably just be ok. Well I was definitely wrong. There is an interesting new aspect of this world the author created that I think will really open the series up to new and exciting story lines. This book was a little different than the others in the series in that there was less angst and turmoil surrounding the society and politics of this world. There was still angst and intrigue within the relationship building though so it was still interesting and enjoyable.

Great addition to the series

Pierce lost his brother and then his cherished omega.
Now he just runs his restaurant and tries to keep their memories alive.
Brett is a beta and works for Pierce.
He's always joking and gets under Pierce's skin.
I love his snarky banter.
These two have been dancing around each other for a few years now because the attraction is mutual.
They were perfect for each other.
Pierce was ready to let someone in again and Brett really just wants to belong.

I absolutely loved everything about this book, set in one of my favorite mpreg worlds.
Kelix really knows how to write realistic emotions, personalities, and life events, while also bringing all the heat.
Plus, I love, love, love that this author has characters from previous books in the series interacting with main characters in the newest book.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series! Highly recommend this entire series!

This was the book I didn’t know I needed. I loved Brett when he showed up in Avery’s book and his story did not disappoint. Pierce was also in Avery’s book and Kelex did a great job setting up this story by introducing them both. I love this entire series from Kelex. Each character makes you love and root for them.

Pierce and Brett

This one was a bit less intense as the last books but filled with a lot more angst. The steam is hot when it is in the book which isn’t a lot but good when it’s there. Here’s hoping to the next book coming not too far from now.
