Anarys Avries knows her life will end on her 19th birthday.
She’s the weapon the Eternal Ruler has waited a thousand years for. Unfortunately for him, that weapon refuses to become a killer…
In war-torn Alnavara, a rare few possess unique Gifts, making them coveted treasures for those seeking control. Anarys is one of the Gifted, and when her freedom is taken and her existence reduced to a mere asset, she chooses defiance over surrender, knowing her life will end in just three months' time.
She will die, but others will live.
But when her Gift evolves, allowing her to transcend realms, a chance encounter with a dangerously handsome enemy—a member of the Voiden—shatters everything she thought she knew. Faced with information that could change more than just her own fate, Anarys must guard both her secrets and her heart, all while reconsidering her role in the war that’s spanned centuries.
For all this time she’s been worried about those she’d be forced to kill, but what if instead she focused on those she could save?
A YA slow-burn romantasy with high stakes, forbidden romance, found family, magic that comes at a cost, and a library full of books that only tell half the story. In this enthralling tale of love, sacrifice, and self-discovery, the ultimate battle for freedom and a better world awaits.
I'm most active on TikTok and love responding to any and all DMs. I'm a high school history teacher by day and writer of Romantasy books by night. Thanks for being here <3
Very wonderfully written. Ash and Rys are really phenomenal characters. I loved that there was no spice! Sometimes it’s nice to be able to focus on the plot and characters. Rys doesn’t want to be a weapon wielded by a corrupt ruler. Ash only wants peace and safety for his people. I’m really excited to keep reading this story in book 2!
Total rating: 4.5 stars. Wow, I adored every second of this book. First, I want to say how amazing of a writer I believe Olivia is. The world building in this was phenomenal, I don’t ever think I was missing a piece of information (besides the crazy plot twists of course). I loved the idea of this book and learning about the world was so fun. It was nice that this world felt very evolved and complex yet this was a quick and fun read. It’s nice to not have to commit to 800 pages in a fantasy book and still feel like all the bases were covered.
I found myself not wanting to put this down. I loved the pacing and how many reveals there were. It was like learning and coming to revelations at the same time as our main character and it was so fun.
Anarys was such a fun main character. She is so strong and I loved seeing her come into herself and learning more about her past and everything. I loved Ash as well. He was so cute and sweet and yes a little different from the normal morally grey MMC we are used to seeing, but I think something new was refreshing and I loved him.
And that ending! I have to admit I predicted half of the main reveal as the story progressed but the very last reveal???? I did not see it coming at all, my jaw dropped completely.
I cannot believe how well written this was!!! And that ENDING!!! I need the next book right now!!! This book had me stressed, currently stressed, and will continue to be stressed until the next book comes out. This is a YA Romantasy but the world building is immaculate and the plot is so unique. The twists and turns were so thoughtfully placed. There was no dull moment in this story. I’m in so much awe I can’t event form proper thoughts right now. You HAVE to read this book. Put it on your TBR and show this author some love. I was giving her live updates over TikTok and she is so sweet too! I can’t believe this is her debut novel, her writing is exquisite!
4.5 ⭐️ absolutely incredible! I was seeing so much about this book on tik tok & decided to take a chance on it, as being someone who doesn’t read a lot of fantasy. This world was so much fun to be in! The world building was very complex but easy to follow at the same time. The magic system was SO cool and felt super unique! In this book we have two kingdoms against each other with an enemies/lovers trope. I fell completely in love with these characters. Anarys was such a badass FMC, who showed a lot of character development and self discovery. I loved Ash from the start, his character is so genuine and truly just wants to do good by his people. This book had it all. Romance, a creative & fun magic system, amazing characters, plot twists, and a plot that sucks you in from the beginning. This book grabbed my attention so fast & i cannot WAITTTT to read the next book bc that ending?!?? WTFFFF
I was very excited about this book, but one of my biggest issues is that the book is marketed as “enemies to lovers” and I feel like forbidden love is a better way to market this book. It is a very cute read, I liked the magical system, easy to understand, and ending on a cliff hanger. So I will definitely pick up book 2. But I was really underwhelmed overall and I would have loved to get to know our characters a bit more, esp before they start falling for each other. The potential is there so I’m curious to see how it all plays out!
I found this a very entertaining read. It definitely doesn’t read like straight up YA, which I appreciated. I thought the main characters were well-rounded, although some of the side character names had me going back a time or two to a previous page to check for just who they were, but that’s on me not the author. The story moved at a nice pace and there were a few unexpected turns along the way, which kept me wanting to keep turning pages. Would absolutely recommend!
If you are looking for possibly the best YA Romantasy of the year, then you have found it in this book…Transcendent: Into the Void by Olivia Patrizzi.
Woah, what a ride. I am a fantasy girl through and through. I’ve read so many published traditionally and independently. I have such high expectations when going into a new fantasy read. This book exceeded ALL expectations I had.
Tropes: •Found family •Enemies to lovers •Forbidden love
These are just a few I’ve included so there’s no spoilers.
I’m not giving a summary. Everyone can read that for themselves, but I will tell you how this book made me feel. From the first chapter, the author drew me in. I was attached to more than just the MC’s. Some of the side characters also held my attention, and I can’t wait to learn more about their stories as this series continues. The plot, the plot moved forward at a steady pace that felt natural and interesting. I was fully immersed in the world of Alvanara quickly. So much so, that it didn’t feel like reading, it felt like watching a story unfold in real life.
Into the Void is beautifully written, and if fantasy is your genre, it would honestly be a crime if you didn’t read this.
I cannot wait for Book 2 of this series, especially after the cliffhanger it ended on. One of my top Fantasy reads of the year.
I don't normally write reviews because honestly, I'm not very good at it. This book though... It needs a review. I happened across this book through a video by the author on Tiktok. The kindle version is very affordable (and also currently on kindle unlimited) so I snagged myself a copy.
Once I picked it up, it was almost impossible to put down. This one had me in the verge of tears. That does not happen to me very often with books. Especially fictional books. I truly fell in love with the characters and the world that is built in and out of the void! It was a pretty quick read at 330 pages and the story stays interesting from chapter to chapter. The story is well thought out and beautifully executed. It ends making you want more. I NEED more! I truly hope this book gains traction because this is a story that I believe needs to continue. I already purchased copies for my mom and my sister to read too!
I was sucked into this book and the story from the very beginning because of Olivia’s writing. The pacing was perfect and there wasn’t a moment that I wanted to put the book down!
This story was the perfect balance of romance, action, and politics. She gave us little breadcrumbs the whole way through and they all came together so beautifully in the end. There were so many plot twists and I did guess a few of them, but that didn’t change how they affected me!
This is classified as YA so there is no spice, but honestly the story was so good that I didn’t miss it! And it reads more NA so don’t let that YA classification deter you! The ending was absolute perfection. The only complaint I have is that book 2 isn’t available yet, I absolutely can’t wait to jump back into this story!
Olivia, you have delivered quite a good book! The writing is swift and sure. The scenes are imaginable without being bogged down by excessive detail. And the characters are relatable, believable, and enjoyable. Bravo!
One of the best books I have read this year. For this being Olivia's debut Bravo!! This is such a unique world and magic system. The characters all have great storylines and development.
HOLY. CRAP! I won’t lie, when I first started this book I wasn’t sure it was going to be for me. I usually read a lot of dark books and not a lot of YA, BUT! Oh. My. Goodness! Olivia Patrizzi! Who gave you the right?! Who gave you the right to write such a great book? World building? Check! Unique magic system? CHECK! PLOT TWISTS?! DOUBLE CHECK! (I did suspect one of the plot twists but it was still amazing when it all played out!) I am genuinely in AWE of this book! All I can say is, I GOT QUESTIONS! But in a good way! lol this book needs WAY more hype! I can’t wait to start book 2!
Side note: THE END?! How dare you do that Olivia! 😂 how. Dare. You. And you know what you did lol ripping hearts out with that ending!
First I just want to say well done to the Author, Olivia Patrizzi. You did such a phenomenal job with your very first book! I truly loved the vibes of this story! I was trying to guess things the entire time and some were right while other times I was wrong! I do think this is more forbidden love than enemies to lovers and I felt like it was young love where they really didn’t get to know each other but easily fell in love. Which leaves me as the reader slightly unattached. (If that makes sense lol I’m not a writer) however I loved the characters and the atmosphere. I cannot wait to dive into book 2!
I have no words. It’s 3am and I’m up to finish this book because I couldn’t put it down. It was so good! The magic system. The twists and turns. The ENDING! The plot was amazing. I was constantly on the edge of my seat. Each chapter leaves you wondering what’s going to happen?! I’ll be going to book two as soon as I get it in the mail!
First of all. I wasn’t expecting that elaborate storyline and world building. I thought i was about to read a romantasy with more romance than fantasy. But not at all.
Anarys is not just a gifted but she’s a voiden and KARDEN IS HER FATHER!?! What…..
I love ash. I love Rys. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead!

The magic system of this young adult novel was fun to read. I like the "matrix" vibe of the void itself and the abilities the voiden had in the story. The book's last section engaged my interest, and I believe the targeted reading audience will enjoy this series.
Really enjoyed this book. I was lucky enough to be selected as an ARC for book two (From the Shadows We Rise) and wanted to read this one first. So glad that I did.
This book involves a bit of fantasy and in my eyes a bit of SciFi (with the ability to transport or transcend) set in a well-crafted world set in the mid-evil backdrop. Anarys, the FMC, has a gift that is sought after by the eternal ruler who collects people with special gifts to protect his kingdom.
The MMC is considered an enemy of the eternal ruler because him and his people can transcend into the void, or so we were informed by the thoughts of the eternal ruler. But the real reason that the transcendents are the enemy goes much deeper than that (not going to give it away).
The action is well orchestrated, the interaction between the characters is real, the feelings felt by the characters are believable. Overall, a great read.

A rare handful in war-torn Alnavara are endowed with special Gifts, making them sought-after for those in positions of power. Knowing that her life is set to end in three months, Anarys, one of the Gifted, chooses rebellion over surrender when her freedom is taken away and her existence is reduced to a mere asset.
Just wow! Can I start by saying that Anarys is that girl!!! I’ve never loved a FMC so darn much!! She’s brave and witty and just beyond amazing!
And don’t get me started on Ash!! Can we normalize having a MMC with no red flags? He was seriously a breath of fresh air. Officially my new favorite book boyfriend!!
Olivia Patrizzi did an amazing job with making you fall in love with or loathe specific characters. I really loved how much depth that Patrizzi put into her characters and the world building!
The slow burn and build of the love story was just phenomenal and I cannot get over the ending!! I was not ready. I cannot wait for book 2!!
ARE YOU SERIOUS? This book. I waited 2 days to review it because I couldn’t formulate actual words that were good enough for this story. When I say that Olivia Patrizzi is unique, I am not lying. Hands down one of the most - if not the most- CREATIVE books I have EVER read! You’ve got people with powers, people without powers, a king dead set on ruling no matter the cost, friendships, heartache, and a love interest that keeps you swooning.. Every single aspect of the perfect fantasy novel, in my opinion. In this fast- paced, action- packed YA fantasy, you get a dual POV with a kind- hearted FMC character who has remained hidden and “silenced” so to speak, and a “cinnamon roll” MMC who has been portrayed a villain. It’s a fight to the death, literally, to the very last page, ending in a HUGE cliffhanger that literally left my jaw on the floor. I am begging everyone to read this book. Support this author. You will not be disappointed! Olivia, I need book 2 NOW!
“It must have been hard,” she says softly, “for your people to live a life being hunted because of something that happened before you were even born.”
I really enjoyed the book, I thought it was a very interesting story and really liked the world building. There were a lot of twists and turns and it was dual POV and I had a really fun reading experience. The book touches on grief and the choices we make and I thought it had a really good message about how one choice can change the course of your life and sometimes it’s about forgiving and learning from your choices. Also, not believing everything you’re told and making sure you discover the truth before making a choice that could have tragic ends. Now it’s just waiting for book 2, I’m very excited to read the next one and see how the story continues to unravel.
Call me thoroughly impressed. I started this book yesterday and could not put it down. I am typically hesitant with YA books as they have been hit or miss with me, but this is a hit. The unique plot of the Gifted, versus the Voiden, versus the Regs and how it all came together I really enjoyed. The perfect amount of world building for me personally, the connection of all the characters, and throw in a bit of romance, you have me hooked. I'm starting to find that although I love a good romance heavy book, the 'romantasys' that I enjoy the most are those I find if the romance wasn't written into the book, it'd still stand up without it, as the story line is written well enough, I'd still be interested in it either way, and this does that for me. Fantastic debut novel and CANNOT WAIT for book 2 because that ending left me wanting more and more! 😊
I thought this was a good YA romantasy! I enjoyed the storyline and the world building didn't feel like too much at all. Very easy to understand, and the cliffhanger made me feral for the next book. It did take about 50% of the book for me to get excited to keep reading. I do have issues with the way the 2 main characters were talking to each other even though they are 16-18. It felt weird and too deep for 2 teenagers who don't really know each other at all in the beginning. (From what I understand, Olivia is changing their ages to be a little older like she wanted them to be from the beginning.) I usually do a good job of aging characters up in my head, but it is mentioned quite often that this is all leading up to Anarys' 17 birthday. I do recommend this book if you want an easy romantasy to add to your TBR!
No, that’s not all. Olivia really just captured everything in this book. The romance is amazing, the world building really sucks you in, she wasn’t kidding about the stakes being high. I loved every second of reading it and I’d have finished it in one sitting if it weren’t for like… life and work. I really encourage everyone to read it if you’re a fan of fantasy and romance. The dual POV was really well done as well and even without the names on the chapter titles, the characters were diverse enough that I could tell immediately who was talking/speaking/acting. Great job Olivia I can’t wait for the next one! (And that’s saying a lot coming from someone who typically will only read adult aka explicit romance lol)
Alrighty I am excited for this review. I purchased this book from Olivia a few months ago, and have been going through some weird reading slumps so I wanted to wait until the proper time to give this book the attention it deserved. Let me tell you it was WORTH IT. Olivia this was actually phenomenal. The world building alone was fantastic. The story was paced really well, and the character development was wonderful. The plot twists were at wonderful times and I cannot WAIT until book 2 now. That ending. Loved it, and hated it at the same time (but in a good way).
As a side note Olivia you are doing amazing and I am so glad I found you! I am excited to see more from you. And I'm already getting pumped for book #2!
Oh, how I loved this book! I couldn't put it down once I started. The plot was twisty, enemies to lovers, forbidden love, crazed maniacal eternal ruler waging war on innocent peoples, love, found family, grief, betrayal and a holy cow ending! The magic system was fantastic, and the story was easy to follow. Full of relatable, loveable characters that you root for. The world building was excellent and easy to digest. I cannot wait until book 2 is released! It will be an immediate read for me! Excellent job, Olivia. Looking forward to entering the void again with book 2 🖤
Rating: 4.5/5 stars (unfortunately goodreads doesn't allow half stars to be given)
Overall, the book was extremely well written. The author wrote this book in such a way that you are captivated and transported into the story and reading it felt like I was inside the story watching everything unfold right i front of me. (spoilers ahead).
I immediately fell in love with the main characters Anarys and Ash as they were so easily relatable. Anarys dealing with her own inner demons of pain, loss, feeling stuck in such a place working for someone who has proven to only care about themselves, she was just overall easy to relate to and love. Ash being a genuine man, standing up for what was right, being protective of those he loves, caring for those he loves, and putting everyone before himself, he is the true knight in shining armor that every little girl dreams of falling in love with.
The beginning of the book was a little hard to get into as I felt thrown immediately into the story with no background information (almost feeling like if you turn on a movie for the first time and you start watching about 20min in and then you decide to rewind and watch from the beginning) thats how the first three chapters felt, but then we were given some background information with flashbacks of X amount of years ago in learning what happened to Anarys and how she ended up where she was at the beginning of the story. Once that information was given, everything that was happening in the book began to make sense and click in such a way that the book became unmovable from my hands, I simply couldn't put it down.
I also truly loved the character development. Anarys being an obediant person, much to her dismay, following orders she didn't believe in and living under the roof of and working for someone she hated and didn't believe in and then being able to see her grow into the fierce warrior and protector that she is, and seeing her step into her strength and power was truly incredible. and we can't forget the PLOT TWIST EITHER...like uhmm WHAT?!? my mind, is simply blown. I absolutely cannot wait to see how Anarys and Ash's story continues in the next book!

4.25 ⭐️ You all know I love my indie authors and here is another one to add to this list! Olivia has done a wonderful job of creating a world that you want to immerse yourself in. The world building is fairly easy to follow so this is a perfect read for someone just diving into reading fantasy. It is not intimidating at all and even though there are quite a few characters, it's not difficult to keep them straight which I love!
I will say I am a very detail oriented individual so I did find myself wanting a bit more in places, especially in the interactions between Ash and Rys in the Void. I wanted there to be a bit more to the development of their relationship and their characters overall to understand them and their motives a bit more. I am optimistic we will be able to get to know these characters on a deeper level in the upcoming books.
The plot though!! The storyline of this book had me hooked from the beginning and I loved to see multiple characters have their eyes opened to the way people can be easily manipulated and blind to things that are really occurring. Unfortunately, having blinders on based on information you have been fed by someone in power who you believe has your best interest in mind is a true reality many face. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey of the characters (pleasantly surprised by Malary) as they come to terms with lies they have been told.
All in all, this was a wonderful read and I am looking forward to book 2 in less than a month to see what happens with that cliffhanger we were left on! Keep writing Olivia, I look forward to seeing where this journey takes you.
Where to even start?! I went into this book completely blind. Aside from a friend recommending it to me several months ago, I finally decided to pick it up. And holy hell at the surprise I had in store in doing so! With absolutely no clue what to expect, I can say with absolute certainty this is one of the best books I’ve read in a while. When trying to figure out if there was anything I’ve read in the past similar to this story, to help me explain it , nothing compares.
Not only is the story full of magic and mystery; it slam packed with plot twists and excitement. The wide range of emotions I felt while reading this book was everything. There were some points in the story when I could figure out the direction things were going, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience and there were things I never foresaw.
The writing in this book is phenomenal. The author draws you into this story from the very beginning & holds you captive, even after you finish the last page. The characters were so well written. I found myself connecting to not only the main characters, but supporting characters as well.
This is not a spicy romantasy book, but the chemistry between the two main characters does not need it to keep you invested. The story is more than enough.
Tropes in this book include:
