This was an amazing read written by a very talented author. I was hooked to the story as soon as I started reading. It moved along at a great pace, has amazing characters and a story that will grab you and not let go. This must be read, there is no doubt about it.

I'm always sad to see one of Kathi's series end, but I know it's going to be the perfect good-bye. Hawk is no exception. We've seen the other pride members find their mates, now it's Hawk's turn.

First, Awnia, his fated mate, is powerful. Supremely so. She's a Sun goddess (how cool, right?) and has some royal (hint, hint) blood flowing through her veins. But, those same powers also cause to her be hunted. I won't say by who, nanner nanner nanner, because it's a big part of the story. Thankfully, Awnia is able to get through to Vinnie, a dragon and member of the Pride from a previous book in the series. They have a history together and can communicate telepathically when he's in his human form. Vinnie enlists Hawk's help in finding Awnia. His ability to shift into a hawk comes in mighty handy. Awnia is found and taken to a safe place on Pride land.

Meanwhile, we also learn a little more about Hawk. The place he found Awnia in is his hometown. He decides to visit his childhood home, where he is welcomed by Deacon and Margo. They've worked for his parents for years and love him. But we learn he hasn't spoken to his parents in years because they are evil people who don't deserve the title parents. They've always felt Hawk was a monster and tried to have him "fixed." Add in the fact that Hawk is an elite shifter, can shift into numerous animals, and they will go to any lengths to try and get rid of him. Did you catch that? Any lengths.

Hawk and Awnia meet as she's on her way to Hawk's house for a Pride meeting about her situation. Hawk knows right away she's his mate, but Awnia was always told she could never have a mate. She decides to be with him for as long as she can, while trying to keep everyone safe. Of course, Hawk won't let her deny their connection. She's his and he's hers. Psst...Hawk can be very persuasive. ;-)

There's love, danger, sexy times, mysteries are solved, lies are revealed, and a family is reunited. I loved Hawk and Awnia together and it was great catching up with the couples from the previous books. I'm going to miss these characters, so thank goodness for rereads. I highly recommend this book, but do suggest you read the series in order for continuity and full enjoyment of the characters.

Russel Hawkman a sexy shifter in Samuel's pride....a special kind of shifter that can shift into many different animals....plus he can communicate with the dead and talk to inanimate objects.

Awnia, is a sun goddess in hiding from her nasty mother Temptress, who cursed her years ago. Being told she can never have a mate. When she finds herself a prisoner of a crazy bad guy, she calls upon her dear old friend Vinnie, a dragon. Vinnie wants to hide his friend from discovery and when she runs into Hawk......touches his lips to hers he just knows she is his mate. Fearing he will die being her mate, Awnia resists his advances....until she can't hold back any longer. Sparks fly, the angels sing and things really heat up with these two crazy kids inn love!

I swear Kathi S. Barton has some of the very best and dumbest bad guys in paranormal reading. I love how stupid they are, it makes the good guys look all that more amazing!

'Hawk' is the sixth and final book in Kathi S. Barton's "Samuel's Pride" series. If you've read the blurb then you know Awnia is a Sun Goddess who has been cursed and thrown to Earth by her own mother, Temptress. Since the fall didn't kill her, Temptress is doing everything in her power to eradicate her daughter so the prophecy is not fulfilled. She's also hired, who Awnia calls 'The Hatter', to have her daughter killed and this time, he's hurt her worse than she's ever been so far. The only thing she knows to do is contact Vinnie, her old friend, with the hope he can reach her before she dies. Vinnie's dragon fire is the only thing that can help her. Unfortunately, she can't talk to him while he's in his dragon form since he took a mate so Vinnie gets in touch with Hawk and asks for his help in locating Awnia. Hawk has his own despicable parents who have referred to him as a 'monster' his entire life. It's a wonder he's grown into the man he has and probably wouldn't have except for the loving presence of the Hobbs. They went so far as to hire a man claiming he could remove the shifter blood from Hawk but luckily, Hawk escaped. If that weren't bad enough, they had him declared dead so he couldn't tarnish their name or reputation. This is a full-on war between worlds and it makes for a wonderful read.

Oh My Gods!

This was an excellent way (as I believe that this is the last book in this series) to end the Samuel's Pride Series as everyone in this series comes to help a friend of Vincente's & she winds up being Hawk's mate of course. From the moment they met it was instant attraction & they also mated right away though Awnia didn't believe that Hawk was truly her mate but he knew it right away. Awnia was told by her mean old mother that she would never have a mate because if Awnia found her mate then her mom would kill him. Hawk's parents aren't much better than Awnia's in that his parents call him a monster but they get what's coming to them as much as Awnia's mom got what was coming to her. This book is a HEA I would call it a standalone but in order to get the full effect of this book you would have to read all the other books in this series. I did write reviews for all the books in this series however because I hadn't been getting the confirmation in my emails like I had been getting I believe that Amazon didn't post them because I am following Kathi S. Barton on Facebook; I hope that this review does get post as before I submit this I disconnected my Facebook account from Amazon.

We say good by to another series that I am going to miss. I enjoyed the diversified characters and pairings of our favorite characters. Hawk was special so he needed a special mate and Ms. Barton gave him a goddess. Awnia is a powerful being with powerful enemies, when she is hurt she finds herself with Samuel's pride. Never expecting to find a mate she pushes Hawk away to keep him safe. I really like them as a couple, they filled a void that the other was missing. They both needed love , to give love and to trust they were loveable. The story was easy to follow and read fast. The power of love, family, friendship and the magic between all the characters is amazing to read about. They rally to protect their own from any and all threat. Hawk keeping true to his abilities always makes me smile and the necromancer ability adds some fun. My only fault with the story is the confrontation with Temptress, it was built up to be something major enough to frighten a goddess but seemed anticlimactic when it happened. Still a good read and I look forward to moving on to another series by this author.
I was given an ARC for an honest review

Oh again another series comes to an end. I'll be wondering what to do with my life again for a bit and probably end up rereading the series all over again because then it won't feel like it's over completely.

Two people who never thought they would ever find a mate for them meet and instant sparks!

Hawk is an elite shifter with some unique abilities. He doesn't believe he may ever find a mate who will look beyond the weird abilities to the man he is and love him.

Awnia is a goddess that has been cursed by her mother and lives on the Earth realm. Vinnie and her met hundreds of years ago, now she must call upon him again to come help her before she dies at the hands of the Hatter. Awnia knows she's bounds to be alone until her mother finds her and kills her, for if she were to find a mate, Temptress (her mother) would kill him.

Can Hawk convince her they are destine to be together. Will their bond withstand the many obstacles about to be place before them?

A Sun Goddess and a shifter, a powerful combination and not one explored yet. Kathi Barton introduces to yet another powerhouse couple that has no idea what they can do. Cast down to Earth by her mother, Temptress, and cursed to never find a mate to complete her, Awnia feels she may never find a home and family. Hawk was disowned by his parents. He was considered an abomination by them for the things he could do. Unlike Awnia, he does have a family, Samuel's Pride. When the two meet, Hawk knows they are mates and belong together but he can't convince Awnia of that. Temptress is still trying to destroy her child and employs some despicable people to do so. Hawks parents want him gone now more than ever after finding out that their fortune wasn't left to them but to him. Thankfully, cooler heads prevail and love finds its way in.
This is the end of Samuel's Pride, another finished, wonderful series by Kathi Barton. I was given a copy in exchange for a honest review.

Hawk is the last one out of the Pride that has not mated yet .. Hawk is a special type of shape shifterthat pride will learn just what he can do ... Awnia is a Sun Goddess and someone is trying to kill her for her powers.. What does mean , you got it Awina and Hawk are mate and he doesn't get burned when he touches her .. Awina can't believe she has a mate she was cursed to never have a mate .. So she does not believe Hawk .. Kathi can create characters that are unbelievable her books never really have a same super natural in .. Plus this is the final book in series .. I hope you enjoyed as much as I did

Hawk is the last book in Samuel's Pride series. He is a different kind of shifter - he can shift into anything.

Awnia is a Sun Goddess and burns everyone she touches except Hawk. Someone is trying to kill her for her powers. When Hawk meets her he has to have her for she is his mate, but Awnia is afraid because of the curse put upon her.

Will Awnia lose her fear and take Hawk as her mate? Read the final book in this series to find out. Would definitely recommend to everyone as a must read. Congrats Kathi S Barton on another well written book

A fantastic book to end a series. a story of magic and romance where good trumps evil.

Hawk is a shifter with added abilities that can help, understand and a story for any object.
Awnia is a goddess that protect what is hers.

A relationship that started easily but not accepted straight away. As with all Kathie S Barton books love and happiness destroyed evil and has a story that grips your heart and imagination from the start.

I thought Temptress was going to be a hard fight but she was handle so easily. I was glad to catch up with the other couples. I'm going to miss this series it was one of my Favs.
