Halo Hendrix was all set to party at twenty-five, but thoughts of his loving late mom threw a wrench in his celebration plans. In a whirlwind surprise bash in Las Vegas, Halo crosses paths with Khloe Nichole, a savvy money-maker with a dash of sass. Trouble is, Khloe's heart supposedly belongs to another, yet she's not too thrilled about it.
A tipsy adventure lands Khloe and Halo in a wedding chapel, kicking off as a joke but turning serious when Halo realizes he can't picture life without her.
Will Khloe break free from her preset path and choose happiness with Halo, or will she stick to her parents' unorthodox wishes instead?
A Hood Millionaire’s Obsession With His Virgin Bride is an Epic Hood Romance that you won’t forget.
The characters were interesting. There is one plot line that has my attention. The parents folded much too quickly for them to be okay with the situation. Also, the mother mentioned that things changed and she wanted to be a part of her grandchild’s life, yet the daughter was hesitant to tell the, she was pregnant as if she didn’t hear her address it. I will have to read that section again for clarity. Also, again I may need to read a section again, but when the adulterer is officially caught, he states he doesn’t know the person despite having told his spouse she was someone he took some “smoke” too. While the type of ending chosen is frustrating, I can see the appeal as to why a writer would choose it.
This was the making of a great insta love match, however it was a bit too much! I know smoking weed is a norm but the amount of smoking by everyone in this book was dysfunctional and irresponsible. The only thing that was consistent was the smoking. Even pregnant women! Past this I found myself skipping through much of the irresponsible drunk drinking, and get high to focus on Halo and Kholoe’s instant attraction to each other, as they risk it for biscuit and get married the same day they meet. Alicia and Harlem, have a more common than not, life situation. They need a marriage counselor to save what they had. She was wrong for the nagging and always accusing him and he was wrong for his actions and hurting her. But marriage isn’t easy and mistakes will happen. You need to decide weather you are strong enough to weather the storms that will come and if you have enough love in you to fight for solutions. If not stay single!
When I first seen the cover of this book I thought it was going to go a totally different way but happy it didn't, I enjoyed how Chole' finally got the courage to stand up to her parents to be her own independent woman and the fact that her husband went to Miami to get her was some real man moves. Happy she didn't allow his past to interfere she stood on what was hers. Now her cousin and Harlem needed help, she was dealing with her past as well as what he did in the beginning of their relationship if you tell your spouse that you forgive them and Halle going to be together you can't keep accusing because some people may feel " well since I'm being accused I might as well do it" it doesn't make it right but it happens, that's why communication is key, I really enjoyed reading about these characters, maybe in the future we can hear from them again
Halo had the most depth to him, I did like him the most. Khloe was just okay, parents seemed to be malfunctioning though.
Harlem was pushed too far and caved in to someone else's insecurities because they started off wrong. Alicia was just a whole garbage can of confusion.
The story was redundant with so many backing ups, rolling blunts, and other pot holes I think I sprained my ankles running to finish the book. And then it just opened up to a sinkhole...abrupt ending. Maybe the author got tired of telling this story as much as I was tired of reading it.
The way Halo & Khloe started out I thought Vegas was going to be it. They both seemed to take the marriage as something to do and not put in the work. I'm happy they did. Mercedes was trying to make herself irrelevant when Halo told what it was. She was irking my nerves I'm hoping she was their when Halo got down on that knee again to Khloe?? Harlem acted like he didn't want to be married in my opinion. Alicia knew her heart ♥ didn't lie. I would like to read more about Harlem & Alicia to see if they got back together!!!!
This book was really good but it was all over the place. Kept jumping from one subject to another ,although usually enjoy tbis author work tbis book jus seemed rushed. Halo was the man, Harlem was confused as all get out him and his wife really needed couples therapy. I know that she was hurt as anyone would be but she was very annoying. The ending left you hanging like it really should of been more to the story. There are a bunch of unanswerd questions of ŵhats next, etc .
I liked the characters, but some needed more development. Like Harlem and Alicia, they really didn't need to be in this story other than to be supporting characters' roles. The way you put it in there mad it seem irrelevant and and sort a like a place filler. So, other than that, it was a great story and I would have given 5 stars instead of 4.
This was my first time reading this author, would read another book, to get a better feel. This story was very much all over the place, and also ended with a lot of open questions. I found my self slipping some chapters because it got stale fast and was all over and didn’t make sense.
This was truly a sweet hood romance, worthy of "Lifetime!" Our couple had a whirlwind Vegas wedding, but decided make a go of the marriage. I thought Khloe's parents were on some other stuff and planned to kidnap her and force her to marry Mason. Nope! Sweet hood romance, Vee Bryant!
I'm happy for Khloe and Halo. I knew Harlem was gonna loose his wife. What pissed me off with him is when she first told him about the text he didn't even check Jaida but went and slept with her. Now he feeling salty. Serves him right.💝💝
Good read until the end. Felt it was rushed. Would have liked to know if Mercedes finally got the picture. Wondering if Halo and Khloe had a baby boy or girl ? Wondering if Alicia and Harlem got a divorce
I liked the storyline a lot but felt like there should have been more to the end. I want to know what happened to Mercedes and what happened with Harlem and his wife. Not sure if there will be a spinoff or something but I hope so.
We want to see the outcome of both relationships especially since we had advisory conflict in one marriage with a self sabotager. Then we have the eloped couple that showed so much love and end result of a blended family with the new couple.
I was action Harlems side until he cheated. Its true that women have those intuitions and she felt that. I feel like he was kinda selfish even after she had the miscarriage. Halo was that deal I loved his honesty.
Harlem was dead wrong for cheating while his wife was pregnant. But if you keep accusing someone of cheating eventually they gonna go out and do it. Its not right on both ends. However I'm glad there was some some happiness between Halo and klohie.
The book was good but I wanted more about Harlem and Alicia. They was bought in as the married couple and quickly turned toxic. It should have been more background story on all of them.
That was a sweet little love story. Khloe and Halo story was so backwards but so cute because it gave them time to learn each other in the relationship. Great read
This was so good thank you for the adventure. I love this book. I just wish we found out what happened to Harlem and his wife but thank you for the adventure.
