Caught in a deadly game between power players and killers-for-hire masquerading as police and FBI agents, Logan’s only ally is Daniel Briggs, a former Marine with his own dark past. About the author

C.G. Cooper

C. G. Cooper is the USA TODAY and AMAZON BESTSELLING author of the CORPS JUSTICE novels, several spinoffs and a growing number of stand-alone novels.

One of his novels, CHAIN OF COMMAND, won the 2020 James Webb Award presented by the Marine Heritage Foundation for its portrayal of the United States Marine Corps in fiction. Cooper doesn't chase awards, but this one was special.

Cooper grew up on a steady diet of Dungeons & Dragons and the travels of a Navy family.

Upon graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in Foreign Affairs, Cooper was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps and went on to serve six years as an infantry officer. C. G. Cooper's final Marine duty station was in Nashville, Tennessee, where he fell in love with the laid-back lifestyle of Music City.

His first published novel, BACK TO WAR, came out of a desire to link back to his time in the Marine Corps. That novel, written as a side project, spawned many follow-on novels, several exciting spinoffs, and catapulted Cooper's career.

Cooper lives just south of Nashville with his wife, three children, and their German shorthaired pointer, Liberty, who's become a popular character in the Corps Justice novels.

Cooper presents the enviable job of tossing real humans amongst socio- and psycho-paths? Welcome to this latest. Remember Wilcox? Daniel? Remember them together? I surely don’t! But we are given such a scenario and you won’t be disappointed. The book moves fast. A young news writer is introduced. And off we go. It gets strange and stays that way. We watched the young writer grow, as he “Cooper-dances” his role beautifully. Daniel is Daniel. And Wilcox? Wilcox is consistently weird. I loved it. It held my interest. And I wanted more, but when the book ended, I was OK with it. I think you’ll like it too. Jump in get your feet wet and have fun. Thanks Coop for a great read.

This is another great book in this series. The story starts fast and only slows momentarily throughout the book. The characters are all great even the new ones that are introduced in this book. The book could be read as a standalone book but, the main characters would be better understood by reading the series in order. The ending let’s the reader know that more will follow this book and I can’t wait. Excellent job Mr. Cooper.

good stuff

I really enjoyed this book. I was glad to see Daniel back and on a mission. A great read that takes you on a different journey because Matthew Wilcox is also on a mission. And we know what that means! They help a young, who’s gotten pulled into an unexpected situation and now his life is on the line. Who shows up to help, why Briggs of course. A twisted path that will keep you guessing what the end game is and who’s in charge. Def read!

Continued excellence

Daniel Briggs is back and in NYC when his senses tell him to watch a man. Matthew Wilcox joins in, and the massacre begins. The newspaper industry is going through a major change in source procurement, and Snake eyes is in the middle. Fast paced action packed

Fast paced adventures

I enjoyed the wacky silly antics of Matthew Wilcox, the friendly assassin, in contrast to the Zenlike level-headed and protecting former Marine sniper, Daniel Briggs. They assist a journalist seeking truth and justice caught in a very dangerous game of cat and mouse.

I’ve read all of C. G. Coopers’ Corps Justice books and generally enjoy them a lot… unfortunately not this one. The descriptions of both Daniel and Wilcox were too contrived, repetitive even boring… as well as all the other characters in the story. I almost gave up halfway through the book but pushed on to the end hoping it would get better, which it didn’t.

Back with the Family

Here’s the thing, after reading two sentences in a CG Cooper book and I am totally engrossed with these familiar characters and their ideals. He captures the reader with every single word he writes.

Another great Corps Justice book!

This book is the first one that I have read without Cal, Gaucho, and Willie Trent. It is mainly Daniel Briggs and Mathew Wilcox getting tied up in another adventure and killing bad guys.
