This story started in from the start with seduction and laced it with the mystery of what awaited him in the inherited resort from his deceased father. But being surrounded by stunning men didn't mask the unexplained happening around Mateo. We get taken on a journey of discovery with Mateo as he tries to unravel what really happen to his father, who is pulling the strings and is this just a resort of sexy man. the ending brought quite a twist that closed the thriller side out well. the narration on this story was perfect. Between the pacing and multiple accents the narrator brought the characters to life and made the audio a great listen.

This is a good one. An inheritance that seems like a dream that turns into a mystery of murder. Matteo searches for answers while learning how to run his father’s resort. He finds that his inhibition’s are tossed to the wind and does things he wouldn’t normally do. Then the ending… the ending. 👀

I am not generally the target audience for this book, but I enjoyed reading Matteo's story. La Luce's Legacy is a perfect MM summer romance with just a twist of mystery and intrigue. The combination of the beautiful island and the equally stunning men who inhabit it created a stunning and immersive setting.
The story follows Matteo, a man who inherits a private island resort after the death of his estranged father. As he navigates the complexities of his new life, Matteo discovers a hidden world of privilege and power. The author's exploration of the darker side of wealth and the lengths people will go to protect their investments was thought-provoking.
I was particularly impressed by the author's ability to write intimate scenes with sensitivity and respect. The emotional journey Matteo undergoes as he grapples with grief, change, and newfound wealth was beautifully portrayed.

This is a new author that I wanted to read as it was recommended as a great mystery with suspense and romance!
💘 This was so well written. This is an all male and one female character book. Matteo has been hurt in the past and when he finds out he inherited a resort he has nothing to keep him from leaving. When he arrives he immediately receives messages telling him to be careful. Another message saying his father died under mysterious circumstances! Who can he trust? He feels like he cannot trust anyone.
🥵 Please read those content warnings. Holy moly!! Yes there is spice but there is romance as well. I really wanted Matteo to find his true love!
🖤 There are characters in this book that are the most devious and underhanded as I ever read. You have to pay very particular attention to the characters as you read. Who I thought was the culprit was not.
🧑 There is an instrumental character in the book that I had no clue if he was good or bad. Dirk writes him in such a way that I was literally yelling at Matteo “don’t trust him”! Boy was I wrong!!!

Loved reading about Matteo’s story and his adventures on what sounds like an amazing, idyllic island.
This book is a good murder mystery, and yes it’s an almost all male cast of characters, (and boy do some of these men sound extremely attractive)! It has some spicy scenes, but it was a wonderful look into love and romance from a man’s point of view.
Again, it is a murder mystery with plenty of plot twists to keep you engaged until the very end, or is it the end???
This book promises more to come and I cant wait for the another book in the series.

I got a free copy of this book from the author and absolutely loved it!!
Matteo is an amazing relatable protagonist and I loved all the layered mysteries surrounding all the characters. Two of my favorite characters were Carmello and Lio because I still haven't quite figured out their motivations. Lio and his two ankh necklaces are such an original and powerful statement! There's so much depth in this book and I loved being transported to the island every time I cracked open the book.

Dirk Mourningwood certainly has a way with words!! I don’t have much experience with MM books but there was so much else going on in this book. Secrets, espionage, murder. Every time I had this figured out, another twist popped up and I was back to square one. I can’t wait for the next book as Matty has so much left to learn and figure out!

At first I was a little worried about the amount of smut in the book since I’m not really a big smut reader, I love some spice but not too much. But this book had so much plot and really had you wondering who was behind everything. Who was sending the anonymous texts? How did his father die? Etc. I think the book had a great balance between the two. I would definitely recommend this book to someone who is looking for a thriller, mystery book that will keep you on your toes while also seeing our main character getting to indulge his fantasies with the HOT men around him. I cannot wait for the second book!!

DNF I don't doubt this style would appeal to some readers but it's not for me.
I really tried, but it's chaotic, no romance (just sex), and couldn't finish it, which is very rare for me.
