It all started with a song.

Roxana Nights was late to another gig, thanks to her first love, and drummer. It’s been years since she left Jordan, but he won’t let her go. Then she hears a voice that pulls her under a spell and changes her whole world.

Trevor Malone just moved to Seattle with his band. Music is his only passion, until he lays eyes on Roxana. He’s never felt anything as strong as the pull to her. Now he needs to find a way to introduce her to his world.

There’s only one problem. A rival clan won’t rest until they’ve taken Trevor’s down. Unwilling to let old grudges die, they target Roxy. Trevor will do anything to keep her safe.

Roxy learns that the world she writes is closer to reality than she ever imagined, and that not all monsters are evil, though some are ruthless.

Will love stay strong when the past comes out? Can they survive the centuries old vendetta?

I've always loved books, especially about monsters and magic, so I started writing. I'm working on a prequel and the next few books in the Others of Edenton series, and I have a head full of stories to share.

I'm a stay at home mother with a wonderful husband who lets me write and write to my hearts content.

WOOT WOOT OH YES SHE DOES IT AGAIN!!! I've been a huge fan of all things Brandy L. Rivers for the longest time! So when Nights Embrace came out I was dying to get my hands on it! As with all her books she bring paranormal to whole new level! What made this book so different and fabulous were the lyrics! Roxi is done with lying cheating musicians but, when she hears Trevor's voice the world simply melts away! When Trevor sees Roxi he can't believe he has finally found her! Then when she sings his whole world melts away! Watching Trevor knows Roxi is his mate but how does he tell her? To top it off a rival clan is out to get Roxi. It's actually Roxi's dead beat "sperm donor" that is out to get her,
I loved everything about this book. The love, fighting, magic, tattoos, and the story! I love forward to readying more of this world. I also enjoyed how the author had some spotlights of my favourite characters from Editon! Recommended to anyone who loves paranormal romance! Bravo!!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review through Lovers of Paranormal.

Nights Embrace tells the story of a young woman, living in Seattle who has her heart stolen by a charming Irishman with a big secret. He's a werewolf and there is a big huge world out there that he is a part of. She falls hard and fast and never looks back.

Overall, this book was very "eh". It was ok. The characters did not have enough flaws for me to actually like them as people and I felt like I had read this book before. Maybe a bit of paranormal burnout? Roxana and Trevor were cute together and the passion was fun and exciting but the insta-love turned me off a little bit. Nobody really seemed to work hard for anything in this book, including each other's affections. Everything comes easy, whether it be singing, writing, taking shots of tequila or accepting a crazy magical world with amazing and slightly unrealistic calm. I know I would be freaking out.

I was craving more conflict and less mooning over each other in this book. I get that it is romance but it never felt like Roxana had a choice of what she wanted in this book, despite her attraction to Trevor and her ready acceptance.

“The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for.”
― Bob Marley

OK, here’s the dealeo. When I first picked up Night’s Embrace (Others of Seattle Book 1) I was underwhelmed. ‘Instalove’ anyone? But, I was in a hot tub, glass of Merlot at hand, rolled towel behind my neck – So, what the heck? And you know something? It wasn’t all that bad, once you got past the typical ‘Boy meets girl. Instant attraction. Sex. Repeat.” scenario. Instead, Brandy L. Rivers has written a tale of hate, betrayal, love, death, and hope all wrapped up in the instalove that so many offer today. Of course, if those books didn’t sell, they wouldn’t be written, right?

Roxy Night, lead singer for Nights Embrace, is a sucker for a sob story, never as well illustrated as by the fact that she has carried her ex-boyfriend, Jordan, for the last five years, babying him out of obsessions, depressions, and maudlin weeping for her to return to him. Bailing him out of fraught situations, ignoring the sex addiction that broke up their relationship in the first place, and generally being a combination mother and babysitter for his whacked-out self. But Roxy is through. Through, I say! And when she meets Trevor, the lead singer of Lunar Storm, she has every intention of standing by her vow to let Jordan deal with his own problems.

So, how’s that workin’ out for you, Roxy?

Wolf shifters aren’t in Roxy’s world view. Nor are succubus, demons, incubus, or any other fae beasties that go bump in the night. But suddenly, she is thrust into that world she never knew, and staying alive through it may be impossible. For while Trevor and his band, as well as their mates, all seem to be good guys, a darkness follows them around – a darkness rooted in jealousy, hate, and an obsessive pair of wolves who will do anything to make sure Trevor suffers. And Roxy is right at the top of the list of ‘make Trevor suffer’ projects. Oh, and let’s not forget the father that Roxy never knew. Her mother may have protected her for most of her life, but mom is dead now, and Daddy Dearest is determined to capture Roxy and make her into the very type of monster he is.

I think I came to like Roxy’s book so well because, while there was that instalove thing that has come to be more than boring for me, there was also a strong thread of how friendships can often weather storms that can crush relationships, and how the vicious struggles of addiction, no matter what type, can destroy everything one holds closest to the heart. Oh, and let’s not forget the important part for me – no matter how evil one (or both!) of your parents are, your friends are the family you make for yourself.

3.5 stars.

Brandy L. Rivers is a Goddess of Paranormal writing!!! I fell in love with her first book in "The Others of Edenton" series and have been hooked ever since! Nights Embrace tells the story of Roxy, a tattooed singer in a band that is drop dead gorgeous and incredibly smart too. She is also a very talented and amazing author for her day job. She shows up late to a gig one night thanks to her ex-boyfriend Jordan with whom has pretty much ruined her dating life and trust in men. Then she hears a sexy voice singing as she enters the building. Trevor is the lead singer in a band and notices Roxy from the get go. They both are entranced by each other and can't stop watching the other. Trevor has to leave after his set but vows to find her....he's just worried about how Roxy will feel about his world. When they finally meet sparks fly but Roxy is worried that he is too good to be true. She is waiting for the other shoe to drop because it always does. Trevor is completely taken by her and knows that she is his mate. They start spending all their time together and unfortunately attract the attention of some bad characters from his past. Trevor thinks their after Roxy due to their hatred for him and past mistakes but little does he know that that isn't the only reason they are after her. They discover along the way that there is more to Roxy than they thought and that she is indeed supernatural herself. She is able to quickly gain control of her powers and is extraordinary! His friends/pack mates all care for her and she fits right in. When their pasts collide will they be able to make it through it or will it be the one thing that destroys them? Find out in this fabulous story!!! A MUST READ!!!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)

Unbelievably my first Brandy Rivers book, it will not however be my last. I have enjoyed this book tremendously read it in a matter of days during a heavy exam period- this is why I’m not a first class student. Oh well!

The main characters Roxy and Trevor are very addictive. I love Roxy’s strong sassy attitude which is great especially when she’s surrounded by alpha males like Trevor, an overprotective wolf shifter who absolutely worships the ground she walks on- as he very well should. These two characters are so absolutely head over heals in love with each other that it kind of makes all the other issues they face seam slightly smaller than they were probably meant to be.

Other characters like the rest of Trevor’s pack and Roxy’s family/ friends also add to this story making me (the reader) completely submerged in this fabulous world the author has made.

The story is well paced allowing the two main characters to be introduced and form feelings before the first complication and then allowing them to begin a relationship before introducing the main threat to their happiness.

The story line is brilliantly different introducing characters and problems at exactly the right time to keep the book flowing nicely.

This book was genuinely a real treat to read and I can’t wait to read more by this author.

Fucking brilliant! Seriously I am now hooked on a new Others world!!!!

Roxy is headstrong, sure of herself and straight forward. I love her. She is the kind of woman who knows what she wants and does what it takes to get it. Being gifted as a musician and author makes her even more amazing. Roxy is the kind of girl I would totally have a drink with and become friends with. Perhaps Brandy put a little of herself in Roxy...=)

Trevor is unbelievably sexy! A man who, the moment I pictured his Irish accent, I nearly orgasmed. Seriously. He is super sweet and so thoughtful, he wants to protect and care for Roxy. He is such a good guy that not only does the lead singer thing make him hot, but the fact that he is such a lovely man makes him ten times hotter!

The whole Others series has always been amazing and vivid. I talk about this in every book review I have done for Brandy Rivers. She makes you see the world through very clear eyes. I could see the surroundings and I could feel the emotions. It is brilliant in every way! The Others of Seattle promises much of the same!

You absolutely have to read this book, especially if you love Brandy's Others of Edentons Series. I give this 5 amazing, brilliant, sexy, vivid lipsticks!

This is my new favorite Brandy Rivers novel, by far. I loved every minute of it! The whole story just exploded off the pages and had me staying up way too late at night because I just couldn't put it down. I loved both Roxy and Trevor, and all the other characters as well. They were all vividly detailed and all seemed to come alive in this story. Ms. Rivers has a unique voice that makes it so easy to immerse yourself in her world and get caught up in her stories. The connection between the two lead characters was so strong it was palpable, and I truly hope we see these characters again in future books. On a side note, I absolutely loved that Roxy was a paranormal romance author who gets to find out her stories are real, that was an awesome touch for me.

Awesome start of a spin-off series. Spinning off from The Others of Edenton Series. Loved Trevor and his accent. I thought Fallon from In Too Deep was tough but WOW Roxy is one feisty firecracker. I truly am enthralled by the Others. I love paranormal and i love romance and this author feeds my addiction to them both. The author sent me this book for an honest review and I'm being totally honest this is a book and series including The Others of Edenton that if you love paranormal romance you should read. The characters and the paranormal situations are so well written it makes you believe they are real. I didn't want this book to end and now I have to wait for the next one in both series. (the agony) :)

Brandy L Rivers gives us yet another great Paranormal story in the “Others” series. This time we meet the Others of Seattle.
Roxanna Nights is the lead singer in a band & a very successful author of Paranormal Romance books. When she is late one night for a gig, she gets to hear & more importantly see Trevor Malone, the lead singer of another band. The attraction is instant & STRONG.
Trevor has to try to bring Roxanna into his world, one that she only writes about.
This is such an exciting story, with rival clans fighting to the death. We are also treated to Demons. We also get to meet up with a few of our favourite Edenton residents.
I could not put this down & Love the Seattle Others as much as the Edenton Clan.

Nights Embrace by Brandy L. Rivers Nights Embrace by Brandy L. Rivers

Overall Rating: 4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆

From the moment Roxy heard Trevor sing she was caught. Trevor could not believe the remarkable woman that just walked in where he was performing. When he heard her sing he knew she was his mate.

“They warned me Roxana Nights was enchanting.” His eyes traveled down her body and back up so damn slowly she had to wonder what he was thinking. “I never imagined they were underestimating your beauty.”

Roxy had one problem her ex-boyfriend is still a part of her band and he refuses to let her go. His constant getting into trouble with women, drugs and alcohol had been the thing that finally broke the relationship. Roxy was not looking for another relationship until she looked into Trevor’s eyes.

“Don’t apologize. I’m sorry for the intrusion but yes, I’m Trevor Malone.” His accent colored his words, but it was faded, as if he ha been in the States for years. He had a strong jaw, full mouth, and sharp cheekbones. Roxy lost herself in his gaze.

Trevor follows Roxy’s scent to a coffee shop the morning after their performances and asks her to spend the day with him. She agrees to be his tour guide for the day and to show him all the sites in Seattle. They spend the day getting to know each other and avoiding everyone else. The question that Roxy keeps asking herself is should I take a chance with Trevor?

Stupid Rox. He could be the world’s best actor, playing you like a fool. He has all the charisma in the world and could easily have any woman he wants. So what the hell makes you think he wants anything more than a little naked fun time?

Trevor knows that there is so many things that he needs to share with Roxy but he also realizes that he must be patient. She is not at the point where she would be able to understand. Her ex will not leave her alone and keeps causing problems and wanting Roxy to make it right. All Trevor wants to do is protect, love and wrap her up in his arms.

“Jordan wasn’t man enough to see his mistakes or to make amends.” “I don’t want him to make them right. I don’t want an apology. I want him to let me go. I guess that require me walking away for good.” She turned away. “I won’t blame you if you turn around and leave. I have so much …to deal with, an you don’t need it”

Our heroine does not know that she is endowed with strong magic from both of her parents and that her new love is a werewolf. Danger is nipping at both of their heels. A very powerful enemy is after Trevor and also wants Roxy. Roxy and Trevor must work together to defeat the evil that wants to claim them and their families.

“I’m scared,” she whimpered. “Don’t be. I’m right here."

Would I recommend this book: Yes! Once again Ms. Rivers weaves a tale of love, adventure, supernatural power and family. I love the way she pulls all the pieces together and leaves the reader wanting the story to continue.

Would I read other books by this author: Yes! Each book is so uniquely different that you can't wait to read the next one.

I was about to start asking what is all this fuss about the musicians, but that would not be fair since I have mine. However, the “musical part” of the book is relevant only to highlight the romantic and sensitive side of the characters and which otherwise are just ... let's say fierce and tough, no matter on what side, good or evil, they are.

Night Embrace will take you in a story whose rhythm corresponds to the general idea that supernatural beings have high senses. The problems and the challenges arise and are resolved one after another, and everything happens in a dizzying pace, that you could get the impression that everything is on fast forward. If it's good or not, whether the solutions come too fast or too easy, it solely depends on each reader individually.

The main characters are to be adored and in the same time their free, sometimes libertine, way to be and act, and the intensity with which they live can make you, the alert reader, to ask yourself (maybe) some questions ... but let’s not forget that we are not dealing with mere human beings but with some supernatural ones for whom the time and manners have totally other coordinates.

The secondary characters are many and they awaken varied feelings. Since Night Embrace is a spinoff of the series Others of Edenton, sometimes it may seem that the author is based on the information and the stories from Others of Edenton series considering that they are already known. Anyway, when I read the book I did not know this detail and I couldn’t tell that something was really missing, the only thing is just that some characters suddenly appeared and their behavior was not fully motivated, but more than likely, they correspond to what happens in the "mother- series".

From the evil characters (there are no half measures here), some you can understand better, even if their decisions endanger the lives of those with you team with and about others you have wanted to know more, but they are almost meteoric. As I said, the speed at which things happen is sometimes... at the legal limit. Regarding these villains I liked the fact that all seem to have something important in common (besides the obvious, of course). From the first fantasy stories I read, I wondered how, to where it goes and what actually is (or should be) this mate -bound. Most of the authors indisputable link it with love, however in the way they present it, the people involved do not stand a chance in front of it, so I will always appreciate the author that "alter" this connection. In Nights Embrace, it is clear that all the bad characters that are more detail presented do not enjoy a fulfilled mate -bound. It exists, binds the two, but the lack of love is what these villains have in common. Only the positive characters share not only the connection, but also the love. Thus, it seems that the mythical mate-bound is not always welcome and that its failure could have repercussions. An extra point here for Night Embrace.

About the characters I could say that Brandy Rivers liked to play a little with the readers’ mind also in what regards the links between them. "Normal" in a "non-normal" world they offer extremely varied and appealing possibilities for the next volumes.

Let's see: two people from different worlds and with different love and life experiences found each other and they have no choice but to fight for their relationship, but also for their lives in the games of evil interests, refusing to obey. This leads to challenges, risks, dangers and to an unknown ending in which the death is very possible not only for them. A pinch of magic, a sense of loyalty and friendship, music, poetry and a lot of passion (even lust) are added. Do you like these ingredients? If yes, you can try the Night Embrace carousel.

Nights Embrace (Others of Seattle, #1) by Brandy L. Rivers Brandy L. Rivers

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP)

Trevor

4.5 stars. Nights Embrace is the first book in The Others of Seattle series.
( however can be read as a standalone book)

*Recommended for 18+ due to sexual content and violence.

"That's me, a beautiful disaster. I've always been told how talented and pretty I am, but in reality, my life is a mess"( Roxana Nights)

Roxy Nights is the beautiful and talented lead singer of Nights embrace. She has one main problem in her life that stops her from actually living or even falling in love, the ex and first love that will never let go.Jordan.He is also her band's drummer. Due to all this drama she has sworn off musicians...period!.

Arriving late one night to perform she becomes infatuated by this tall, dark and smokin hot's enthralling voice. Not only does he captivate her with his looks but also with his rich accented baritone voice. She nearly "melted into a puddle of goo". Will she be able to resist this strong connection?

Trevor Malone , lead singer of Lunar Storm is captivated by Roxy. The feeling is so strong that he knows she is his long awaited mate.

" You do the same, love. I felt lost before you came along, moving through life without direction. Ever since I saw you,I knew you were my direction, my everything."

How can he explain to his mate that he is not what he seems? That she is not what she seems? And that is a far bigger, stranger world out there full of greed, obsession and danger....

This story was really creative and entertaining. I love the fact that unlike most hot passionate romances this one was equally balanced. It didn't have too much passion but the right amount that we can focus on the relationship evolving emotionally rather than just physically. However when it did have those sexy chapters, wow were they smoking! I love how detailed and precise Brandy L Rivers is with her novels.

Roxana

One thing I did not like about the story was that in my opinion, the feelings/relationship started too quick. Yes I understand that Trevor saw this woman and felt this special and protective way about her, but it was all so instantly. Same goes for Roxy, she was sworn off musicians and has avoided relationships because of her ex but she became head over heels for this man. Maybe if there was a little bit more denial it wouldn't have felt so..... Easy.

However I do love the way Roxy didn't completely trust Trevor. She's been hurt in the past countless times so this felt realistic.

" he seemed so damned perfect, but she knew better. No man was perfect"

The story is so compelling and passionate that it will just captivate it's reader to read on. I absolutely love this series. I love the fact that each story is different, each character has it's story and all of these build this imaginable surreal magical world. It all flows so well together that it is believable.

A must read to all you paranormal romance lovers!

Meg's Review:
Brandy has worked her magic again! Every novel she writes in this paranormal world draws me in from the first page. Sometimes it doesn't even take that long. This one took a paragraph. I HAD to know where we were going next and who would be put through the ringer next time.

I was super excited to journey to Seattle. I think  its great that not only do we have our Edenton  family, but now we are venturing out to get the down low on the Seattle others.

Meet Roxana. She's awesome. Maybe even my favorite heroine yet. Not only is she kickbutt, but she's smart. She is a no-nonsense kind of girl and I love it. I have to say though my favorite part about her is that even with taking things in stride, she knew when she needed help and she didn't fight it. It made for a highly entertaining character.

NightsEmbrace

Trevor. Yum. He is ranking up there on my lists. He had a heart of gold and ALWAYS had her bed interest at heart. He was also pure Hot. His demeanor, language, looks. All of it. The moment he saw Roxana that was it. He never strayed for even a moment. My kinda guy.

The story line keeps you on your toes and engaged through the whole novel. You are introduced to a lot of new characters and they draw you right in. I have to say Sorcha is one of my new favorites. I can't wait to see more of her. She is a no limits kinda gal.

"What I do while I'm writing is top secret." She was blushing. "Ooh, a dirty girl," Sorcha snickered, "I knew i loved you for a reason"

I Loved her front he start and the oner characters wiggle their way into your heart as well. I look forward to further journeying into Seattle. If this novel is any indication, it's going to be a wild ride.

Well, Brandy L. Rivers has done it again. She's given me a whole new set of characters to love and obsess over. Nights Embrace was an awesome beginning to a new series, a spin-off of one of my favorite series of all time, Others of Edenton. With Werewolves, Druids and magic galore, it's all kinds of freaking fantastic awesome.

When Roxy, a singer in a band, and an author, shows up late to a gig, she never expects to be completely blindsided by the deliciously sexy singer of another band, Trevor. From the moment they lock eyes it's an instant connection. As they tangle up in each other, they deal with a rival pack out for blood, a past relationship that doesn't want to be in the past, and an undeniable soul mate connection. Add in the whole werewolf thing and it's completely unputdownable.

Roxy is exactly the kind of character that I have come to expect from a book by Brandy. She's tough, smart, and incredibly strong without ever being a ball buster, which is awesome. And Trevor, holy crap, I love him. I'm such a book whore because when it comes to Brandy's book boys, I pretty much love them all. Trevor is all kinds of wonderful, he sings in a band, he's a werewolf, he's sweet, but oh so strong and he's got an accent! But what makes Trevor so wonderful, well, really all of Brandy's book boys wonderful, is how freaking supportive he is of his mate Roxy. I loved their relationship, it's completely sweet and wonderfully written.

Nights Embrace is chock full of awesome characters, I especially loved Trevor's pack. I can't wait to find out more about all of these new characters - it's going to be awesome! One of the things that I really loved about this book though, is the cameo's of characters from Edenton!! I was a squeeing like a crazy person when one of my favorite book couples of all time popped up in the story - Fallon & Brody!! I adore them - big time. Plus, any visit to Edenton is a blast of epic proportions, I crazy love that wacky town and wish that it was real.

Nights Embrace is another knockout from the amazing Brandy L. Rivers. If you are new to her books this is a great one to begin with and if you've been reading her books then you are going to love this one. I adore the way that Brandy writes and the way that she tells a story. She's one of those rare authors that I implicitly trust with my time spent in the pages of a book. She has a way of writing characters that completely rocks my socks off. Her women are incredibly strong and her men are so incredibly sweet but total Alpha's. It's a combustible combination and quite refreshing to read about male characters that support their women to be the best versions of themselves and not hold anything back. Nights Embrace is definitely a book that I will be re-reading. I can't wait to see what happens next. Now go forth and 1-click it!!

I admit it. I have a major weakness for shape shifter stories. What can I say? It's my favorite branch of the paranormal books. Sometimes I indulge in a little daydreaming where I can shift my shape and run in a forest or fly. So when I downloaded my copy of this book, I couldn't resist taking a peak. That peak turned into serious reading. I fell asleep with the book in my lap with only thirty pages left. I went right back to the story first thing the next morning, bypassing everything I usually do in the morning.

Rivers has outdone herself again. Nights Embrace is a perfect stepping stone to enlarge the world she created with her Others of Edenton series. Roxana Nights is the lead singer of her band, Nights Embrace. Arriving late to warm up for their show, she catches the tail end of the previous band's final set. The lead singer's voice wraps her up in everything that pushes all the right buttons. That's okay, because she's caught his attention too. Too bad she's sworn off musicians.

Unfortunately, Roxy comes with baggage. Her ex is the drummer in her band and can't seem to understand it's over with them. She can't seem to help herself. Every time Jordan screws up, she's right there to help pick up the pieces. Mike, her guitar player is caught in the middle between his sister and his long time friend. Still trying to look out for his sister, he's unwilling to turn his back on Jordan.

Trevor Malone, lead signer of Lunar Storm knew he'd found his mate as soon as he saw Roxy. Now he needs to find her again and convince her of that. What follows is a fun tale of cat and mouse as Roxy fights her feelings for Trevor. Of course, there's more going on than even Roxy knows. Trevor suspects Roxy may have a bit of Other in her, but can't seem to figure it out. Something is going on with Jordan besides assorted addictions. If what Trevor suspects is true, he may know someone who can help.

Someone is out to get Roxy. She doesn't know who or why, but things escalate quickly. Trevor has waited just a little too long to share vitally important information and his secret is outed by an old foe. Challenges and surprises for Roxy she never could have imagined.

I absolutely loved this story. I was absorbed from the very first page. She has seamlessly expanded her Others series to a new city, yet has brought characters from Edenton into play. Her characters are so well written. I love that they aren't perfect. Jordan has addictions to deal with as well as a major reality check. Roxy has been hurt so much she doesn't think she'll ever trust again. And waiting in the wings (though not for very long) are people about to bring serious trouble and a world of hurt into Roxy's and Trevor's life.

I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. As much as I want to give this book 5 stars, I am unable to due to a couple of missed errors.

I have been interested in reading this author for a while now and so happy to have finally done so. The paranormal genre has many amazing authors with this one being one also now to my delight. The lure of the title and the expert draws you then you sit down to begin the journey into this night with the characters and the world she has created. Once I started I was like a bee to honey wanting to get my fill. Roxy is one character that she has brought alot of character to with spunk. She is more than meets the eye with her and her brother in a band waiting for their time to perform she spots Lunar Storm she hones on the singer with little does she know things will not be the same from then on. Trevor also is entranced by Roxy not leaving until they are done. The exciting thing going into all this is knowing these are not your average boy meets girl thing that is going to happen because these are not your average people. I really like how the music aspect is mixed in this read bringing some flavor to it. Roxy also has a ex in the wings who also is in the band that does not know how to let go-Jordan. As a reader and I am swept away now being drawn even further into this world I soon learn just how special they all are. The growing relationship that springs up between Roxy and Trevor is also filled with the right level of heat to burn any bed sheets. Of course this story is not filled with only bed of roses there will be trouble from ones from Trevor's past that also has a hand on wanting Roxy. There is different turn of events also whenever they are faced with the enemy with Roxy being the main target then most novels which was very refreshing. She is one lady that can and does handle herself very well and adapts to the consistent changes in her life most excellent. The more she learns about herself the more you are endeared to her also. Trevor also is one fine specimen that compliments her very well. The battles that are waged here also are very intense that will have you on the edge of your seat. All in all a great mix of every thing you would want in a paranormal romance with a special kick from this author. received a arc for a honest review LOP(Lovers of Paranormal)

How do you embrace a whole new world that's been hidden from you your whole life???

Great start to the Others of Edenton spin-off! Good versus evil is at war again... this time with an extremely strong heroine who is just coming into her powers. There are unexpected twists and turns, but she handles everything like a trooper. The hero is at war with himself... trying to tell her all about him without scarring her off and holding back at the same time. His hot and cold behavior almost costs him dearly. And now a bit about the story...

Roxy is the lead singer of Nights Embrace, she is getting ready for their set when she hears the most amazing voice. She is drawn to the man on stage like never before, even though she has sworn off men since she called it quits with Jordan, their drummer. They stare at each other during their performances, but Trevor, the lead singer of Lunar Storm is pulled out of the bar before they can talk. Roxy is disappointed ... but not for long, Trevor literally tracks her down in the morning at her favorite coffee shop. The two are inseparable after that... only one thing pulls them apart and it almost kills Roxy...

I think you'll love her response to that night as much as I did! My favorite scene is still the poker party, maybe from reading it as a teaser...

Favorite passages:
- "I don't think anyone has ever looked at me the way you do. Like you truly see me, all of me."
- "She deserves to be happy, and you proved, time after time, that you are only capable of making her miserable."
- "My notebooks are my worst stuff. Those are completely unedited, just pure thought." His smile was wicked, his voice a purr. "A peek into your wants and dreams."
- "Little old for nocturnal emissions, aren't you, Jordan?"
- "Damn, he got lucky. Hot, talented and smart."
- "Please trust me, Roxy. You need to shift. I can't lose you. I won't survive it."

Series: Others of Seattle #1
Category /Genre: Adult Paranormal Romance
Received from: Brandy L. Rivers (in exchange for an honest review)
Tour by: My Family’s Heart
Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content
Grammar/editing: B – a few small errors/ book received as an unedited ARC

This is the first book in a new series from Ms. Rivers. They do need to be read in order. The Others of Seattle parallels the Others of Edenton series and some characters from Edenton are visited and lend their support to the Seattle Others, but this is not a retelling in another location.

Trevor, lead singer of the band Lunar Storm, is this Irish stud werewolf with a lot of very old baggage he’s carrying along with him. He is also the last of his clan unmated. One scent of Roxy Night, lead singer of Nights Embrace and paranormal romance novelist, and he knows that he has found her. Just because she writes about the things that go bump in the night, doesn’t mean that she believes they are real. Not only will Trevor need to break the news, he will have to protect her from a rival clan intent on harming him by harming her.

From paragraph one this book had me sucked in. Normally, at work, I don’t pay much attention to my break times. Today, I was setting my alarm to be allowed to read another chapter or two.

I love Roxy. She is strong physically, mentally, and emotionally with just the right amount of humility, quirk, and crazy. Do not expect an Others of Edenton story in a different location. These characters and their otherness are different. I look forward to following this series. This is definitely another series on my must-read-it-as-soon-as-it-releases list.

One huge disadvantage in receiving the book as an ARC is that I am unable to highlight favorite lines. One that I loved was, “Friendships as strong as family are a blessing” (Trevor, chapter 3, Night’s Embrace).

Everything is coming up Roxy!
4.5 stars
Hotness factor: Sexy times thy name is Trevor…

Brandy L Rivers is back with a new series The Others of Seattle because Others are people too, they like poetry slams, all sort of coffees, the 90’s grunge movement and garage bands. I’m not going to lie, it felt like I was watching Cameron Crowe’s Singles at the beginning, I love this movie. You know me and blurbs, I read it a long time ago but could only remember that it was about Roxana and Trevor finding each other. And werewolves, and music, and Seattle.
Roxana, singer by night and writer by day heard Trevor’s voice, singer and werewolf by night, dilettante by day, he knew instantly that she was his mate and actively started to seek her out, you know how it goes. Her ex had issues and a zipper problem, which I totally called (I watch too much telly). And he had a Scottish stalker (who doesn’t nowadays), love it!
Brandy L Rivers did what she does best, a fantastic character driven novel. The pace is much slower from what I’m used to but that’s how you expect from a book that values good dialogues, great supporting characters over cut and dry action to be. That being said, it has actions, this author knows how to write action scenes. I also personally appreciate the lack of the ‘p’ word and the ‘c’ word is never used in a conversation. Call me a prude but soul mates shouldn’t refer to their parts as ‘p’ or ‘c’.
The Irish lads and lasses were funny and so well behaved. Yes, I’m talking to you Edenton Others! Take a page from their book! Roxy and Trevor, when they finally got going… and couldn’t stop, were just adorable and sexy. This was a great start to another great series from a fantastic author. Aw… Fallon and Brody were there, double aw… Tremaine was there! Ha!

I received a copy of the book from the Author to give a truthful review.

Brandy L. Rivers is one of my favorite authors. She writes females that are strong and full of spunk and alpha males that are overprotective and in tune with their females. This new series is no different. I enjoyed this series as much as I have her Others of Edenton Series.

Roxana is the singer in her band who has issues with her drummer Jordan and sworn off all guys who are in bands. Until, she hears Trevor sing and it is love at first sight. Trevor locks eye with Roxana and he too is hooked. Before Trevor lets thing go too far with Roxana he needs to find a way to tell her about his world. However, the evil Boyd and Dina from a rival clan want to take down Trevor any way they can even it that means harming Roxana.

Fallon is my favorite Female. However, Roxana is a close second. I loved her kickbutt take no crap attitude but accepts help when she needs it. Trevor is the Alpha male that will protect what is his and I love that he pampers Roxy. One of my favorite things is that the characters from Others of Edenton are also in this book. So we get to see Fallon, Brody and a few others which I loved being able to see them all again. I also enjoyed getting to know Mikey, Joey, Sorcha, Siobhan, Shane, Fiona and Nick and I find myself wanting to know more about them.

The set up and flow of the book was great. I was hooked from the time I opened the book until I closed it. The way Brandy does the world building in her books is amazing she does not lay it all out in the beginning but gives you small pieces as you need it. She also does a fabulous job with the action scenes.

I am waiting for the next one. I cannot get enough of these individuals and need to know more about them.

“Nights Embrace” by Brandy L. Rivers.

This is an action packed romance filled with all the mystery of the paranormal.

Roxana Nights, lead singer of Nights Embrace, is immediately captivated when she meets Trevor Malone, lead singer of Lunar Storm, at a gig in Seattle. Roxy is skeptical at first, having been burned time and time again in the past by her ex, Jordan.

Unable to stay away from Trevor, gorgeous rock star, complete with tattoos and a paranormal flair, she cannot resist. Together, they entwine their worlds, becoming a part in each other’s dreams and realities.

‘“Oh sweetheart, if I start, I won’t stop, and then I won’t ever let you go.” He looked torn. “First I want to make sure you know me, all of me”’

Trevor takes his time, getting to know more of Roxy, discovering, that maybe she is not so different after all.

Brandy L. Rivers is an amazing author, who has such a way of introducing so many characters, which is concise and easy for readers to follow. She has a gift of conveying a wonderful story, complete with romance and action.

So much passion in the pages, I couldn’t put it down. Not really, a paranormal fan, this is a well written story, that I found myself loving every minute of. I can’t wait to continue on with the series. I am definitely a new fan. Sexy, rocker werewolf? Umm, yes please!

Nights Embrace by Author Brandy L. Rivers is the first in her Others in Seattle series, following the story of musician/writer Roxana Nights and werewolf Trevor and how they meet and eventually mate.

All it took was one song for Roxy to fall in love with Trevor, a rapport forming between them at first glance. She’s hesitant to try for him though, as she’s been burned in the past, specifically by her drummer Jordan. But Trevor is not willing to just let her go, because unbeknownst to her he’s a werewolf, and werewolves, once sighting their mate, never let go. But with him comes secrets about herself that she never realized were true and it takes the supernatural force that follows Trevor to help her realize her true identity.

I was attracted instantly to this novel by the cover, me being a sucker for punk chicks with tats and short, dark hair. And then when I discovered it involved werewolves I was hooked.

The story was enthralling, I was captured from the first sentence. The writing was brilliant, flowing seamlessly from page one to the end. The only reason I give this book a four star rating is because I felt it took a while for the actual action to start. In honesty I’d give this book a 4.5 rating, because despite the lull I really did enjoy this book and all of its characters.

I definitely plan on reading more from Author Brandy L. Rivers in the future, and look forward to the next installment in her Others of Seattle series!

We are first introduced to Roxy who is a head strong musician and author, what a combination. As I sat reading about her character, the vision I kept seeing was Brandy Rivers. As Roxy walks into her gig, she is blown away by Irish musician Trever Malone. Boy was this man sex on a stick. Hot werewolf shifter, unbeknownst to her. This book brought in all of the same elements of books past but with new spins that made it stand out from the rest. I absolutely love the Others idea. I have read all three Others of Edenton and was impressed with Brandy starting a whole new cast of characters in Seattle but melding the stories together. I love how all the characters are connected, but each have their own past that makes them unique. In my opinion, this idea of "Others" is written gold and I do not believe I am ever going to tire of any of these characters. They have strength, sass, unrestricted love, and complete loyalty to those they care about. You get the feeling that it is not just your mate you are destined to find, it is the family that comes with it. The emotion wraps around you like a warm blanket in winter making you want to be what ever character is the lead at the time. Oh and the teaser chapter from book four of the Edenton series...talk about leaving me a little breathless, totally unexpected spin for a first chapter. A strong 4.5 stars for my first shifter book....and what an amazing and exciting journey this was for me!
I was sucked into this steamy and thrilling story from the first moment that our heroine Roxy first heard the dashing Trevor sing and when they lock eyes, you just knew they were meant to be together.
I love a story that combines strong female characters, hot alpha males (of the human and NOT so human world) and plenty of action...from the streets to the bedroom.
This is my first book by Brandy Rivers and I haven't really read too many novels dealing with this "other" world...but she perfectly combines romance (which I love), mystery and the supernatural elements to make one awesome and engrossing tale of finding and keeping your perfect mate.
I also loved the family drama surrounding them and the dynamics of their friends who interact with them as they try to get away from both of their troubled pasts (and bitter Exes) to follow their hearts and a future together forever.
Easy to read and follow for those just starting out in the paranormal genre...and I would highly recommend this book to anyone, even if they think werewolves, vampires, witches, faeries and other creatures are not their taste!

**** 4.5 **** "Music straight to the heart" stars

I really enjoyed reading Nights Embrace. It was a quick paced story with very steamy scenes and add in the magic and the wolves. I thought it would be a short read but then it had 38 chapters in it so there's a whole lot going on.

Roxana being immediately infatuated with Lunar Storm's vocalist, Trevor Malone and he her. I liked the part where they couldn't keep their eyes off each other and when they formally met each other. The sparks are there. They instantly have a connection and although it seems pretty fast it was just right. There is more to Roxana and along the way she finds out more than she's willing to. About Trevor and herself.

The characters were really likeable and especially the secondary characters. We were given a short background of the rest of them which made me understood them better. It would be interesting for the other characters to have their own book and to know their story more. It was nice to see some characters from the series "Others of Edenton". I almost forgot about them since its been a while since I've read their books.

Most of all I want to read Mike's story and I'm wondering to whom he'll be coupled with. I may have an inkling if there ever will be a story written about him.

I can't wait to read more about the world of Edenton.

Key Plot Elements: urban fantasy with a generous side of romance; strong and well-developed magic and paranormal content—lycanthropy, druids, demons, and other beings; appropriately scintillating 18+ content; creative arts including music, writing, and poetry; based in and around Seattle, WA.

Life hasn’t been easy for Roxana Nights, full of creative passions her life has been molded by forces only her subconscious recognizes. Author by day, song siren by night, Roxy’s worldview is altered when she meets Trevor Malone, whose rich bass and sexy Irish accent combine in a most distracting way.

Roxana’s (sometimes laugh out loud funny) directness does not deter Trevor’s sincerity. “Nights Embrace” builds on a well-paced crescendo to a satisfying conclusion. Beyond the two rich and very likeable main characters is a colorful supporting cast whom I loved; especially Joey, whose loyalty, humor, and willingness to take a punch is unmatched.

This newest release by author Brandy Rivers is a stand-alone novel but parallels beautifully with her very successful Edenton series. Edenton lovers will appreciate a few familiar faces, and new-to-Brandy readers will be tempted to explore that series after this introduction to her world.

The first few chapters really had me hooked on, Trevor is such a great guy. everything about him seems to be flawless, be it his devotion, protectiveness and his drop dead gorgeous looks.
The attraction between Roxy and Trevor occurred instantly and it was intense since the beginning. I like reading Trevor POV and witnessed his insecurity and his love for Roxy
On the other hand, I don't quite get Roxy. Trevor aside, Her attitude towards her brother, Jordan etc was quite stagnant. The story got a little dragged in the middle and it picked up at the near end. Overall, Roxy is an interesting heroine, and Trevor just made my day.

And although Roxy's brother, Mike wasn't heavily involved in this book, I like his protectiveness for Roxy. Aside from boyfriend's caring, I think brother's ones are the next best thing on earth.

And, I actually felt sorry for Jordan. Even if he was in the wrong and never cherished Roxy well enough, what he did was... well, not in his control. In fact, I crave to see Jordan and Roxy's relationship before everything went downhill. I want to know the guy who would do anything for the smile on Roxy's face.

I loved Trevor, "sneaking a glance, Trevor watched as a man wrapped his arm around the sexy brunette. His need for her was so damned intense he nearly stalked over to stake a claim on the woman who had captivated him." And that is just seeing her for the first time ladies and gents so you know this book is going to be a wild ride. Roxy I loved her, I loved how she would voice her opinions, "he stepped in behind her to brush a light kiss over the nape of her neck where her hair was shorter. She shivered under his touch. "You do that, and I'll forget all about dinner," she whispered." I thought it was cute that Trevor was always hesitant (maybe that's the wrong word) the boy didn't want to leave his woman's side, "reluctant, Trevor pulled a blanket around Roxy's sleeping form. He placed a tender kiss to her temple before climbing from the bed to deal with the condom and make a phone call." I loved how playful Roxy was when with Trevor, "my favorite." She licked her lips and nodded to the floor. "Now move to the carpet. I'll rub your back." This is another series that I know I'm going to love by Brandy.
