What's in STORE for Janie McNiel when she and her childhood friend, Tracey, decide to open their own store TWINKLE TOES? That's scary enough...BUT add into the mix they're opening it in the very same Historic District where the former Love of Her Life...that detestable snake in the grass...has returned from NY City, is helping his mom run HER competition store, and worse, he's a mucky-muck she must work with because HE'S a ranking member of the Historic District's committee?

She'll crush him! Her store will make him turn belly up and weep for mercy. Maybe then he'll pay for all the years of...pain...he caused her back when she was a gullible, head-over-heels-in-love-with-the-snake-fool!

Vicki Batman is a brilliant maestro of short story orchestration.

This is my 4th Vicki Batman read and review, and each one is so well written it's a surprise for me when I reach the end. It seems like I've just been entwined in a full length novel with all the detail and richness such stories allow, not a coyly crafted short delight.

Short story telling is the toughest genré for ANY author to write, and not many can accomplish it with the panache Ms. Batman does.

Another WELL-DONE story and FIVE STARS for STORE WARS.

Ms. Batman you are rapidly building a firm fan base...with me at the front of the pack.

So what do you have in STORE for us next?

This is a charming little story with a setting I identified so much with that I could feel like I was there. I only wish the story had been longer. I wanted to know these people better.

I really enjoyed this book. Janie had a right to be guarded but in the end indecent won out.
