A cursed king running out of time and... an uninteresting heroine.

I feel so bad leaving a negative review for a self-published book, but I literally had to force myself to keep reading this book. I skimmed through most of the pages.

I liked the concept, but I couldn't get into the story. I didn't like the characters, I didn't like the prose, and I didn't like the constant changes between past and present tense.

This was a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, and, while the story had potential, it was badly executed in my opinion. It's hard to say I wasn't the right audience, as I'm a sucker for anything romantasy and fairytale retellings. This one just wasn't it.
