Finnian Taro has his daughter trapped inside her own mind, the magic of cleansing erasing all her memories and purging the goodness from her soul. Now the bittersweet curse clings to what remains, fighting to win. Although unsure, what remains of Tabitha can't help but be drawn towards the forbidden magic as the darkness consumes her mind, even when her soul begs her to remember who she once was.
The more she bites, the more she bleeds. In order to return, she must learn how to play house with evil. Can Tabitha ward off cleansing's seductive lure, or will she be enslaved to Taro's magic for all eternity?
Filled with mayhem, bloodshed, and sorcery, The Bones of the Banished is a dark and gritty novel about one girl's quest to know who she truly is. But when it comes down to the final moment, the question remains...
Elena Moriarty is an indie author living in the sunshine state of Australia. She loves to write dark, needy and violent fantasy books as well as soft, salacious and whimsical romance books. Her poetry is full of torturous longing and every word drips with feeling. She lives with her son, two cats, and her best friend who won’t leave. Outside of her writing, Elena enjoys collecting special edition hardcover and indie out of print books, buying glittery and sparkly trinkets off the internet, crafting funky merchandise to sell at farmer’s markets, and drinking copious amounts of iced coffee at room temperature.
I HAVE WAITED SO LONG FOR THIS BOOK TO COME OUT I RESULTED IN HARASSING THE AUTHOR ON INSTA, MAKING HER BE MY FRIEND AND BRIBING HER INTO EDITING AND PUBLISHING THIS.
It was worth every single dollar I spent.
I am so thankful I got to see Tabitha through this journey. There were times where I didn’t know who’d she’d end up being at the end, if she’d be the old her, or someone new. And I think I’m happy with how it ended up.
There was some amazing chemistry, and romance, it was closed door but the build up was lovely and it felt completley natural in the book.
I loved the back and fourth banter she had with one of the characters she met (trying not to spoil) and I love the friendship they had, knowing that at that time you were both what each other needed, and there was no future. There is something so beautiful about that to me.
But also, WHY THE HELL DOES SHE GO INTO A BATTLE IN A DRESS???? Excuse me imma sword fight in a long swishy dress because it doesn’t hinder my ability to walk at all?! Tabitha rethink your lift choices plz and thanks
firstly, a MASSIVE thank you to Elena for providing me with an ARC of the final instalment of this series!!
the bones of the banished is ADDICTIVE. it will have you feeling all the different emotions in rapid succession; love, hate, anger, despair & happiness. the book is filled with magic, fae, secrets, found family, and a sneaky little love triangle!!
after the cliff hanger ending of book two i was so excited to see what would happen to our beloved Tabitha, she has been put through so much and i was so invested to see how she would get herself out of this dire situation. i loved learning more about cleansing and how it has its claws in youngbloods, and all the new characters are the perfect addition to this trilogy.
i really loved this book & i do think it was the perfect way to wrap up this trilogy. i will miss Tabs dearly, and i’m certain i will revisit her again in the future
my favourite quote from the bones of the banished:
“Felix was home. He was a warm, soft bed on a rainy day. He was a cup of cocoa and fresh literature. He was mine.”
I was lucky enough to have an opportunity to read an ARC copy of the third and final book of the Crimson Tales trilogy.
After the cliffhanger ending of book two I was excited to jump back in to the story to find out what was going to happen to Tabitha next.
It was interesting to learn more about the cleansing magic although it was a pity it wasn’t under better circumstances.
I wasn’t sure how I felt about Rylan’s character to begin with, especially after what had happened between Felix and Tabitha, but he did end up growing on me.
I do wish we could have seen more from Felix and the other’s perspectives while they were all apart and the ending did feel a little anticlimactic but I really enjoyed the conclusion to the story overall.
An enjoyable, addictive and perfect end to a great fantasy trilogy!
If you’re a lover of witty banter, broody MMC, magic, battles and travel then you will love the final book in The Crimson Tales series. Book three picks up almost immediately after book two and we see our beloved Tabitha have to traverse a rocky path as she gets used to her new surroundings with a bunch of new friends, a newfound magical ability and a moody blond-haired MMC who will capture hearts from his first sarcastic comment.
If you love a fantasy series full of magic, vampires, werewolves, warlocks, fae, castles, good banter, moody MMC, found family, fierce FMC and adventure then look no further than The Crimson Tales!
The Bones of the Banished is the third & final book in the Crimson Tales series by Elena Moriarty & it is amazing! It is the perfect completion to the series & answers any questions left from the first two books. Loved every second reading this & couldn't put in down till I finished. Even knowing how I wanted it to end the author keeps us guessing & in suspense never quite knowing. If you haven't read the first two books make sure you do asap before The Bones of the Banished is released.
A wonderful Australian author wrote this amazing urban fantasy filled with vampires, fae, warlocks, and werewolves. It’s the third and final installment in the Crimson Tales trilogy.
The story continues following on from the cliffhanger ending of book two (which was amazing BTW) and introduces new and amazing characters to fall in love with. Thankfully I didn’t have my heart crushed this time though. No, the author saved the heart crushing for the end of the story 😭
Don’t get me wrong though, the series does have a happy ending but our dear Tabitha does have to suffer A LOT to get there 😩
The writing was exquisite as usual as was the worldbuilding. The banter between the characters is always my favourite part about this series!
If you enjoy urban fantasy or even just fantasy, this might be right up your alley.
I had no idea where this series was going. It's been SO LONG since I read a fantasy series where I had no idea what was going to happen and it was so refreshing! The ideas and the characters were so wonderful. I recommend this series. 🙌🏼
