Dirty Diana #3

Diana Says Yes: A Dirty Diana Novel

Rate this book
The third book in the sensational Dirty Diana series—based on the #1 fiction podcast.

Secrets threaten to disrupt Diana Wood’s carefully reconstructed life just as she’s begun to put the pieces back together. But how happy we can truly be if we let the past haunt our present?

Diana Wood’s escape to Paris has ended. She’s traded in her international sexual escapades for sharing a couch in therapy with her husband, Oliver. Dedicated to rekindling the spark they lost, Diana and Oliver are determined to follow whatever directives their therapist issues. But then she says, “Absolutely no sex.”

Diana and Oliver are forced to date each other the old-fashioned roller blading and movie nights and making out against parked cars. Much to their surprise, their therapist’s advice seems to be the emotional connection between them deepens, and the physical attraction begins to feel electric and all-consuming. But Diana is worried--she has to tell Oliver that the website she built for women to share their deepest sexual fantasies has attracted major media attention. Before the news can spread across Dallas, to their daughter’s school and to film producers in L.A., Diana must confess to her husband and own up to the ways their lives, and their marriage, will change forever.

As much as Diana wants her newly rekindled marriage to flourish and her quiet life in Dallas to stay that way, she wants her website to be successful--both as a business and in the ways that helping women to connect to their desires can change their lives. She finally has everything she's always wanted; should she risk it all by sharing her story?

As the final installment in the Dirty Diana series, this book felt like both a culmination and an evolution—not only for the characters, but for me as a reader. Much like Diana’s journey, I found myself reflecting, growing, and making new realizations along the way.

This third book boldly challenges conventional ideas of what is considered appropriate, “dirty,” or taboo (pun fully intended), and does so with honesty and nuance. It invites readers to question assumptions while still delivering a compelling, emotionally resonant story.

I highly recommend this series to readers who approach books with curiosity, an open mind, and a willingness to connect deeply with the characters. Experiencing Diana’s journey across all three books is truly worth it.

firstly, thank you to the publisher for an arc!!

this whole series was absolutely fantastic — from the way it was written and the way the conversations and plot flowed, right down to the steamy scenes.

the fact that one of my inklings actually happened had me SHOOK, but i’m so so happy with the way this series ended.

absolutely recommend to those looking for an empowering contemporary romance series that they will read in the blink of an eye!!

Diana Says Yes is the conclusion to the Dirty Diana trilogy (book one = Dirty Diana; book two = Diana In Love). I can’t say that I loved these stories but I’m not sorry I read them either. I’d never heard of the Dirty Diana podcast, upon which this book series is based, but once I heard about the books, I was intrigued and wanted to check them out. Each is pretty short, under 300 pages, so together they equal one fairly long book.

Warning: these books are NOT for the faint-hearted in terms of intimate activities. If you don’t like reading (or listening to) explicit, open door scenes, then there’s a lot you will have to skip to get to the rest of the story.

In book one, we find Diana’s marriage on the rocks; Diana and Oliver are in a rut and have grown apart. We get a lot of flashbacks to Diana’s younger years, to when she was a young artist. She started painting women’s portraits while they told her their intimate fantasies. She has an affair with Jasper, a photographer who figures in all three books. In book two, Diana and Oliver are separated and a lot of the action takes place in Paris with Diana on her own as part of a business trip for her day job. She meets up with Jasper while in Paris and they resume their relationship. Back in the States, Diana and Oliver try couples therapy. And so we get to book three - I really only read it to see whether Diana and Oliver would figure out a way to reignite their love and stay together or not. I can’t say too much without ruining the ending for you, but I enjoyed this one a bit more than the first two books. Why? Perhaps I was already invested in the characters and their lives. Diana’s project/web site has really taken off and she’s getting publicity about it. This is a double-edged sword as it creates some issues for her with the parents at her daughter’s school. It also presents an opportunity to go to California (they live in the Dallas area) to explore a possible film based on her life and her project, so part of the book takes place in and around LA.

Thank you to Dial Press (Penguin Random House) and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a review copy of this book and the Penguin Random House Audio for the opportunity to listen to a review copy of the audiobook, which had multiple narrators. All opinions are my own.

GAHHHDAYUMUTT! I KNEW CATALINA WAS COMIN!! I knew it! And even though I sensed the geometrical formation of the… ehhh, isosceles triangle… early on, I couldn’t quite bring myself to fully trust my newfound clairvoyance and ability to math like a mf’r…💀
What I did NOT see, as a fresh oracle 😌, was Oliver unhooking his freak leash completely and using it as a makeshift lasso to capture the captain and go for the muzzle-lock!😳 Dayummm Oli Boiii, didn’t know ya had it in ya.

Anyway. I’m sure gonna miss my new best book bitches & the beefcakes who dickmatised them...
*sighs*

I may end up being an outlier with this one but this was not the way I wanted the series to end. After reading this, I feel like the 2nd book should have been a tad longer to wrap things up and just avoided this installment all together.

What I loved: Diana working things out with her husband. Her being able to be open about Dirty Diana and embracing her newfound success.

What I didn't like: the premise is very misleading because the issue is a non issue in the book. Meaning that it wraps up pretty quick. The story then goes off down a road that made me cringe. I kept hoping it just wouldn't go there but then it did. I won't give away spoilers but what was the point of it? I'm not a prude but it started to read like fanfiction and just evolved out of nowhere. Then after everyone is just okay and they go on their merry way.

Bottom Line: The story should have stayed on the same path from the beginning that explored more of the Dirty Diana business and her marriage rehabilitation. 1.5 stars rounded up

Diana Says yes is book 3 in Jen Besser’s Dirty Diana series. Diana and Oliver are trying to work on their relationship by going to therapy and reconnecting through dating. As her Dirty Diana secret comes to light, it puts her family in jeopardy.

This last book in the series focused more on Diana’s family but there were still some spicy moments (hey there Jasper, IYKYK). I enjoyed seeing how committed Diana and Oliver were to making their marriage work and getting to watch Diana fulfill her dreams.

Recommend the series overall & the audiobooks are the way to go!

This was a very quick read! Finished in just a few hours. It was the perfect ending to Diana’s story. And I loved what they did with Dirty Diana. The only part I didn’t love was Jasper. But I don’t want to spoil anything. This series is a great read for older 30+ women who have had some life experiences. I related to Diana in so many ways throughout this series.

This is the final installment in this 3 part series. And boy was it an ending. In this book Diana and Oliver are rekindling their romance by dating again. While they are rebuilding their relationship, Dirty Diana is really taking off.

I absolutely loved reading about their romance. It was such an honest and raw story of a couple that has gone through life together and is fighting for their relationship.

I also loved getting to watch Diana grow in her newfound confidence with her role as the head of Dirty Diana. This was such a fun and highly unique story and it went in a direction I didn't expect but also felt so fitting for the storyline. I highly recommend this whole 3 part series.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Coming Into Her Own: The Stunning Conclusion to Diana’s Journey

I’ve officially turned the final page on this trilogy, and I can honestly say I’m so proud to have finished it. Out of the entire series, this final installment is easily my favorite and a solid 4-star read. The reason this book stands out above the rest is Diana’s evolution. It has been such a journey to watch her grow, but here, she finally comes into her own. Seeing her navigate her newfound confidence as the head of Dirty Diana was incredibly empowering.

On the romantic side, the story of Diana and Oliver rekindling their spark felt deeply authentic. It wasn’t a "fairytale" fix; it was a raw, honest look at a couple who has survived life’s challenges and is choosing to fight for one another. The plot took a unique direction that I never saw coming, yet it felt perfectly earned. This series is a massive investment of time and energy, but the payoff in this final book makes every second worth it.

This was the third and final book in the Dirty Diana series. Overall, I would say the series is average. I thought book two was the strongest book of the three. I didn’t love the last 50 pages of book three. I don’t want to spoil anything but I’ll just say I was disappointed in how the love story merged with certain other characters…very sexual book that is supposed to promote communication with intimacy but the whole thing just felt very average to me. One plus—very well written! The authors have talent!

Another fun, steamy read about "Dirty Diana" and her adventures! In this one she and Oliver are in therapy and finding their way back to each other. And then there's the "scandal" of the possible sex-ed class being taught to 5th graders. I laughed and cried at their antics but enjoyed every minute of it!

Diana Says Yes is a satisfying end to the Dirty Diana trilogy, but it felt less fun than the first two books. I might need therapy for thinking so, but I enjoyed the chaos of Books 1 and 2, and Book 3 fell a little flat in comparison.

Catalina. Catalina. CATALINA. Ugh, it's bittersweet to end this series because this was one of the best books I discovered last year. Diana is such a well developed and well written character, practically everyone in this novel is (even the side characters) and that's why it sucks to have to say goodbye. But if it weren't for the insane character growth that occurs within these three books, more importantly this series- I wouldn't feel as satisfied as I do with it ending. Book three did an amazing job on finally illustrating Oliver and Diana's connection and physical chemistry (I was never fully sold on it in the last two books). I loved Alicia's soliloquy on mother and wifehood and her desire to just exist alone at times. Diana finding her voice with the threat of the school moms was well done with the consistent dialogue around womanhood and how sex is presented to women/girls. Jasper's reappearance was a welcome yet impactful surprise that left me speechless for all the right reasons. This last book was a great finale to the series and I can only hope a movie/miniseries is the next step.

It was a fast read and generally entertaining…but MC is still lying/ keeping things from ppl and it’s hard to see this as remotely realistic. And of course, magically, everything just works out and there’s a threesome to boot! So, yeah…this absolutely DID NOT need to be a trilogy??!!!?

I loved the first 2 "Dirty Diana" books and couldn't wait for this one. Now I wish I didn't read it. I would've been perfectly happy with how the story ended in Book 2. And chapter 15... ICK. Sometimes less is more.

4.25 stars. I think it’s really cool that these books were cowritten by two lifelong best friends - you can feel the divine feminine energy pulsing through the pages, centering female pleasure and fantasy. It was great to see Diana come into her own in many different areas of her life. And CATALINA. What an ending to this series!

This book picks up write where the second one ended. The story of Diana and Oliver isn’t over. It’s interesting to see them come back together and grow as a couple. I couldn’t put this one down.

Wow, and just like that I feel complete.

The ending I did not know that I needed.
I am so proud of Diana’s progress in her life and with Dirty Diana. If there was a real Dirty Diana best bet I’d be a big fan.

May her and Oliver flourish in their beautiful house with their new and improved relationship. Also, wish Jasper the best of luck. Haha heck of a way to conclude their relationship.

I fell in love with every character I met along the way, they were perfectly scripted and made Diana’s story that much better.

This novel follows an artist and mother who creates portraits paired with women's erotic fantasy stories for a website, all while attempting to save her marriage after working to reignite passion with her husband. The premise has potential, combining art, sexuality, and the complexities of long term relationships, unfortunately, the execution feels elementary in many places. While Besser manages to get the story across, the writing lacks the sophistication needed to fully explore such themes. The characters never quite come alive, making it difficult to become emotionally invested in their journeys.
I lost interest early on and, honestly, didn't care enough about the characters to continue reading. For a book dealing with intimate relationships and personal awakening, the emotional connection just wasn't there for me. The concept had promise, but the execution didn't deliver the depth or engagement I needed to make this a compelling read.

BOOK REVIEW: Diana Says Yes by Jen Besser and Shana Feste

Diana Says Yes is book 3 in the Dirty Diana series by Jen Besser and Shana Feste and it did not disappoint!

This book begins where the last book left off. Diana and Oliver are in therapy and will do whatever it takes to work on their marriage. What they weren’t expecting was their counselor to tell them “absolutely no sex” and that they needed to start dating again the old fashioned way. This are going great and Diana and Oliver are reconnecting but Diana still hasn’t told him about her website where women are sharing their deepest sexual fantasies. And it’s beginning to attract major attention. When she reveals this secret to Oliver, can their fragile marriage survive?

Diana Says Yes was the perfect ending to this series! It explores female sexuality but the story is also very relatable to women, wives and mothers. Life can get busy and mundane and it can get easy to lose yourself. This book is erotic, spicy and explores desire but at its core, it’s mostly about self discovery and choosing yourself. If you are looking for an escape from reality that you can devour, this series is for you! (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House/Dial Press for the opportunity to read an ARC of Diana Says Yes in exchange for my honest review.
