First Line: It all started with a note and a piece of candy when we were seven years old.
I'm going to be a little brutally honest and say those baby blues didn't do it for me. Sorry Rhett! The cover with such an eye candy was a plus, but it wasn't enough when there were so many typos and with that less than original storyline. Besides, as much as I love reading friends-to-lovers themed books, this wasn't the one for me. Their relationship was kind of creepy.
Rhett was pretty hot, but boy, could he be any cockier? When he talked about his handsome face and his baby blue eyes, I rolled my eyes because he did it one too many times. Well, reading about how other people saw him as smoking hot was okay, but it's another story when he did it himself. He was too full of himself. On top of that, he treated women like crap. I don't think it made him charming or desirable. More like a douche in fact.
I liked Clementine just fine. But the girl was too pathetic. I liked that she was funny and sweet. Still, she cared too much about what other people think of her, and let her decisions influenced by others.
I thought this book okay , a little boring and extremely predictable, but okay nonetheless, until . I couldn't help but laughed. Not because it was funny, but because it was really weird, awkward and cringe-worthy. Like who would do that?!
Overall, I didn't like the storyline and the characters. It might make someone happy with all those cheesy scenes, but not me.

The dialogue in this book was cringe worthy. I really wanted to like this book because I enjoyed Clemmie and Rhett's friendship but it took a nose dive half the time Rhett opened his mouth. The blurb also makes it seem as though he comes to his senses when she decides she wants to move away with another guy. That's not what happened so I'm confused why it's even written like that. Rhett made a lot of mistakes and he could be really insensitive towards her feelings, which left me confused as to why she put up with it so long.
I stared at my handsome face and frowned. Sometimes I wondered what life would be like if I wasn't so handsome. Would girls react differently if my eyes weren't so blue and sparkly? Would they still want to tousle my silky hair if it was ginger and coarse? Would they still longingly stare at me if I was average-looking? I took a deep breath and walked out of the room and wondered how much I took for granted in my life.

I'm just glad we never got Clemmie's POV because I'm sure it would have been a shit ton of whining and pining over a guy who took her for granted.
This book had a lot of potential but some of the cringe worthy dialogue and Rhett's insensitive behavior ruined it for me. I also couldn't stop laughing at his act of redemption. Seriously. It was so bad I couldn't stop laughing.
" Clementine O’Hara, you’re the anchor to my ship, the fire in my sun, the water in my ocean. You’re the love in my heart , the breath in my air, the voice in my dream. You’re my everything and I didn’t even know. I messed up and I almost walked away, but you never gave up on me and I’m not going to give up on you and your love.”
Not our love but her love. Please someone tell me I'm not the only one who would have laughed in his face and punched him in the nuts for sounding like such a loser?

I was pissed reading the first half of this book because Rhett was being an oblivious ass and not to mention he was stubborn as hell I just wanted to slap some sense into his brain!
But the way Rhett and Clemmie acted around each other like a sweet old married couple, yet they refused to acknowledge something more than friendship was happening between them, they simply made me grin like an idiot...
And that epic... let me shout it for you, EPIC ending... I've had my fair share of HEAs before, but holy shit. Ms. Cooper had it good, my friends!
Definitely recommended! Rhett, once again, ladies!

Based on reviews I read and its high Amazon ranking, I expected this to be a really good read. I'd heard it started slow and Rhett was an ass, but that it picked up and he was redeemed in the end. Those were lies.
Rhett is cocky and conceited. He's gorgeous and the ladies fall for him left and right. He is constantly offered, and accepts, blowjobs from random women, though he never bothers to reciprocate. He's selfish and immature. It's quite all right for him to get a BJ in an IHOP from a chick he just met, two minutes after they arrive, but his female best friend, Clemmie, can't kiss on the first date because "it gives the guy the wrong impression".
The double standards and hypocrisy are so prevalent I almost became immune to them. Add into it the continual use of "titty fuck" and the slut shaming and I was almost convinced this was a parody of a real romance novel.
I actually liked Clemmie and her refusal to take any shit from Rhett, but her quick capitulation at the end ruined her for me. What I really wanted was for her to kick him in the junk and move on to greener, and less chauvinistic, pastures.
The writing is terrible and it's clear the book wasn't copy edited.
I have no idea why the book is so popular or why it has such a high rating. I didn't find much to recommend it

This book sounds like... Tangled (book) guy swapping role with hero ( Patrick Dempsey) of the movie.. "Made OF Honor". This story immediately got these two things to my mind. I love that book and the movie so am guessing the book should be awesome too. Can't wait.
I couldn't really wait to read this book. So i got it and started reading almost immediately. And i was so sure about like this book. But i found it highly irritating and stupid to no end. The guy Rhett is whiney, irritating, self obsessed, insulting. The writing was also not very impressive. I felt as if they were lauging for no reason and all the time. Like for example. They are lying down and they laughed aloud. They saw some one actually they laugh for everything. And the man himself admires himself so much that i felt my self frowning and later felt like kicking him in his shins. There is whole lot of difference between being confident about one's looks and being douchey about it. In the beginning of the book i thought the girl was sensible enough for not falling for this ass. Anyways i wish the book was better than this. I was hoping for it. But As Stones (Rolling) ones said.. "you cant always get what you want".

Il peggio del peggio. Mai un libro mi è sembrato così banale, contorto e pieno di clicheoni.
Una brutta lettura, che non lascia niente, che non emoziona e che, anzi, mi ha irritato non poco. Merito soprattutto dei protagonisti superipermega stereotipati.
Rhett che dovrebbe essere un latin lover almeno brillante e, invece è un donnaiolo incallito e arrapato. Non vuole limiti, non vuole legami, non vuole l’amore e il matrimonio e tanti bambini perché NO… è stato ferito, ha sofferto e quindi per tutto il libro si sfracella le meningi perché proprio non ce la fa, non c’arriva proprio a capire che forse il legame che unisce lui e la sua migliore amica è qualcosa che va oltre l’amicizia…
Parliamo di Clementine. Tipica ragazza del Sud, bella, perfetta, dolce, vergine e… arrapata come non mai, aspetta solo che Rhett abbassi le difese per saltargli addosso e fargli vedere quanto anche lei se ne intenda. Che altro dire? Nonna che cerca di dispensare buoni consigli, c’è. Madre alcolizzata che cerca di recuperare il rapporto col figlio, c’è. Amica bastarda che mette i bastoni tra le ruote ai due piccioncini, c’è.
Ovviamente, non poteva mancare il tira e molla finale che spaccherà il cuore ad entrambi i protagonisti e che li condurrà però al finale tutto pucci pucci (irreale all’ennesima potenza, tra l’altro).
Insomma, se volete farvi due risate potete sempre provare a leggere questo libro!

Full Review on my blog!
I’ve wanted to read this for soooo long and finally got the chance! I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I loved watching a player brought to his knees and losing his heart. Those are the best ones to fall.
Rhett has always had everything he ever wanted. He’s good looking, smart, rich, a ladies man, and a best friend that has been by his side no matter what. That best friend is Clemmie. But Rhett is the ultimate player, and can be a real jerk! But he’s the sweetest ever towards Clemmie. Rhett knows he can depend on Clemmie and he expects her to be. This expectation isn’t of selfishness or because he can be a real dick. It’s because she lets him step all over her. She’s been his best friend, since they were young, and calls out all his BS every time. She understands him and his conceited ways. Even though they are complete opposites, they truly do have a great friendship.
But now, she realizes that she has always put him first and her needs lasts. Now she is going to put herself first. She is going to put herself out there, start dating, and start moving towards her future life. A new life that might not have room for Rhett. But when Clementine starts dating other men and looking into moving, Rhett’s attitude towards her changes. He suddenly sees a woman instead of a girl. A woman that he wants more than anything. Everything he does reminded him of Clementine, even hook ups weren’t working without thinking about Clementine.
I really felt for Clem in this book and what she wanted and the direction she wanted her life to go in. She was really relatable and loveable from the start and as the story went on we realize she isn’t as naïve as Rhett portrays her to be. The end, is just romantically cute how he tries to get Clementine back, and in the back is his Mother who left Rhett when he was young and he hurt because he didn’t know why she left him alone with his dad. This book is terrific insight to boy/girl best friend issues. It sets a high bar for any future reads like this. I highly recommend it!

I did not like Rhett one bit, he didn't grow on me at all. He was a friggin child.
Rhett and Clemmie have been best friends since forever, Rhett is the cocky male ho where Clemmie is saving herself for marriage. Rhett is all about girls and getting laid and his best friend is all about studying.. Then all of a sudden Clemmie starts dating and Rhett is getting jealous, but he is confused, he act like a child, a total douche and he still hasn't figured it out.... I just wanted to take a rock hit him in the head with it, while screaming Wake the eff up on top of my lungs!
And the end? Rhett stayed a douche!
There you have my reason for disliking Rhett, he puts the "I" in idiot!

The prologue was cute and that's about it (it was less than half a page). Reading Rhett's inner monologues was almost painful - this guy thinks like a damn girl. From the blurb we know Rhett is a cocky SOB, I have no problem with this but when he's staring at himself in the mirror asking himself why he's so handsome and lamenting his baby blue eyes (which he does several times throughout the book) - umm no! And this is just the first chapter smh. The smexy bits were cringe-worthy rather than steamy, not much character development and the plot was predictable and boring. I kept hoping it would get better and before I knew it I've finished the book. The whole book was...awkward :-/ Standalone.

2.5 - 3 stelline stiracchiate

Pensate a due amici d'infanzia con un rapporto speciale, un ragazzo e una ragazza che scherzano su tutto in maniera spontanea, che contano sempre l'uno sull'altra e che sembrano vivere in un mondo tutto loro, ma totalmente ciechi riguardo ai loro veri sentimenti... Questi sono Rhett e Clementine, i due protagonisti di questo libro.
Una storia di amicizia e amore quindi, nulla di nuovo ed originale, ma se ben sviluppata avrebbe anche potuto rivelarsi una bella lettura, invece ho trovato questo romanzo alquanto superficiale e piatto.
Mai avrei pensato di ripiangere i punti di vista alternati o addirittura un pov tutto al femminile finché non ho terminato questo libro!
Sia chiaro, io adoro i POV maschili, solitamente sono i miei preferiti, ma Rhett è stato davvero troppo ridicolo e superficiale per il 90% della storia.
Di sicuro il ragazzo mi ha fatto sorridere, con i suoi modi di fare spavaldi e menefreghisti da “sono figo e tutte mi vogliono”, un classico cliché del genere insomma, che per un po' ci può anche stare (alla fine è di un 21enne che stiamo parlando), ma non per quasi un libro intero! Se ci fosse stato anche qualche capitolo in prima persona di Clementine, probabilmente questo libro mi sarebbe piaciuto di più, soprattutto perché scritto così pure lei non fa un'ottima figura.
Clemmie viene descritta come la classica brava ragazza impegnata negli studi, una romantica che sogna l'amore e decisa a conservarsi fino al matrimonio, poi in due secondi diventa una piccola assatanata!
Non ci siamo proprio, i due protagonisti sono troppo contraddittori e frivoli per i miei gusti.
In ogni caso il romanzo è scritto in maniera molto semplice e scorrevole, così fortunatamente l'ho finito velocemente, ma di sicuro non è stato nulla di entusiasmante.
Mi aspettavo decisamente qualcosa di molto più emozionante!

Ya afedersiniz ama DEX kitabın ağzına etmiş yani. Çeviri korkunç, yazım yanlışı dolu kitap. Sonraki kitabını serinin ya orijinal okurum ya da hiç okumam net yani.
Edit: O kadar atıp tutmuşum orijinal okurum diye ama gittim Türkçe okudum ikinci kitabı da. :D Neyse ki bunun kadar kötü değildi. :D

Avete presente tutti i comuni, noiosi e insopportabili cliché che si incontrano nei libri romance? Ecco,metteteli insieme aggiungendo un pizzico di atmosfera, frasi fatte e stupidi convenevoli e avete sfornato "Quella notte tutto è cambiato"
Lui: bello, stra bello, incredibilmente bello, una faccia d'angelo e un incallito rubacuori ( Ovviamente!), che per tutto il libro, e dico tutto il libro (ma stiamo scherzando?!) non fa altro che vantarsi e vantarsi, come se uno girando pagina si fosse dimenticato di quanto è bello.

Ripetitivo, noioso, stucchevole, troppo sopra le righe. Non ha neanche una storia che nell'insieme spicchi di chissà che originalità. Banale e già sentita, si sa come va a finire già dalla prima pagina.
La nota intonata in questa grandissima stonatura è solo la prospettiva con la quale viene raccontata la storia, che è quella maschile, e che ci da quindi una visione diversa di tipici romance.
In conclusione, sono felice solo del fatto che il libro l'ho preso in Mobi, risparmiando altrimenti sarei tornata di corsa il libreria chiedendo il rimborso.
Lui: bello, stra bello, incredibilmente bello, una faccia d'angelo e un incallito rubacuori ( Ovviamente!), che per tutto il libro, e dico tutto il libro (ma stiamo scherzando?!) non fa altro che vantarsi e vantarsi, come se uno girando pagina si fosse dimenticato di quanto è bello.

Appena ho letto la trama ho capito che questo libro doveva essere mio.
Due sono le parole che lo semplificano: stupendo e bastardo.
Rhett sa di essere bello, che le donne gli cadono ai piedi come mosche e che basta un suo sguardo per farle sciogliere.
Tutte tranne una.
Tutte tranne la sua migliore amica.
L'unica che non si fa fregare da quegli occhi azzurri magnetici: Clementine.
Non è un bravo ragazzo, ma non lo ha mai nascosto.
Gli piace divertirsi, le donne e non gli frega far sapere cosa pensa.
L'unica cosa alla quale tiene più di ogni altra è la sua amicizia con Clementine O'Hara.
L'unica che non ha mai cercato di portarsi a letto, troppo timoroso di perderla.
Da sempre si capiscono al volo, il loro rapporto è unico e quasi sempre non compreso.
Clementine ascolta tutte le cavolate che combina, tranne i dettagli delle sue avventure che non le interessano.
Sin da piccoli sono stati un duo inseparabile.
Dove c'era l'uno, state pur sicuri che c'era anche l'altra, quindi non c'è da meravigliarsi che più di una volta Rhett affermi che l'unica cosa certa sia Clementine.
" Clemmie riusciva a capirmi al volo semplicemente guardandomi negli occhi o osservando la mia postura. Mi infastidiva moltissimo. A volte, un uomo deve comportarsi da uomo. Era quello il problema, ad avere una ragazza come migliore amico. Le ragazze vogliono sempre parlare di tutto, e lei non lasciava mai correre..."
Sa che non può sopravvivere senza la sua migliore amica o il suo mondo intero cadrebbe in pezzi.
Egoista? Forse, ma fatto sta che questa ragazza è la sua roccia.
Tutto sembra andare per il verso giusto.
Un lavoro che gli piace, un'amica con la quale parlare e vedere film e uno stormo di ragazze sempre pronte a corrergli dietro.
Ma i problemi non tardano ad arrivare e sarà proprio Clemmie la principale causa.
E' cresciuta.
E' una ragazza fantastica e solare, oltre che ad essere bellissima, e la parte della migliore amica inizia a starle stretta.
Rhett non capisce perchè lei voglia cambiare il loro rapporto, ma soprattutto non comprende perchè abbia deciso di iniziare a pensare ai ragazzi.
Il solo pensiero lo far star male.
Dopo anni sotto la sua ala protettrice, Clementine vuole avere un ragazzo, incontrare il Principe Azzurro e perchè no.... avere il suo lieto fine.
E' stufa di sprecare anni ad aspettare che il ragazzo dei suoi sogni si decida ad aprire gli occhi, di vivere all'ombra di un ruolo che le è scivolato indosso e si getta a capofitto nella mischia, gettando così il suo migliore amico nello sconforto.
Il loro legame sembra incrinarsi irrimediabilmente.
Gelosia a parte verso tutti quelli che fanno anche il più futile degli apprezzamenti su lei, Rhett cade nel baratro quando Clemmie, inizia a volere di più.
Cosa inconcepibile questa, visto che per lui, avere un relazione, è sinonimo di falsità.
L'amore non esiste, o per lo meno non nel suo mondo.
Inizia a porsi delle domande, le quali risposte creano scompiglio nel suo mondo perfetto fino a fargli rivalutare quella che è sempre stata la sua visione del futuro.
" Posso aspettare per tutta l'eternità, Clementine.
Tu sei la mia casa. E io non vado da nessuna parte".
Il personaggio maschile rende benissimo soprattutto grazie alla fluidità dei discorsi.
E ringrazio la scrittrice per averci regalato finalmente un libro raccontato interamente da un punto di vista maschile.
Il suo rendersi conto della vita e di cosa può perdere o cosa può succedere se l'amore non ne fa parte, lo rendono un personaggio dalle mille e più sfumature.
L'unica nota stonata?
La copertina.

Maloox, ragazze!
Tanto Maloox, è ciò di cui dovrete attrezzarvi per la lettura di questo libro! Vi dico subito, però, che tutto si risolverà per il meglio e che Quella Notte tutto è cambiato è assolutamente autoconclusivo: quindi se è vero che ci farà soffrire un po', in particolare nella prima metà c'è da dire che verremo ripagate da un finale super - di quelli che mettono tutto al giusto posto nel migliore dei modi.
La prima cosa da dire su Quella notte tutte è cambiato è che si tratta di un romanzo raccontato completamente dal punto di vista maschile: tutti i personaggi e le situazioni sono dunque filtrate dalla prospettiva di Rhett. E l'espediente narrativo è così ben riuscito che se non sapessi che J.S. Cooper è una donna, vi avrei detto che questo è davvero un libro scritto da un uomo!
Abbiamo un precedente italiano in questo senso: parlo di Drew Evans e di Non cercarmi mai più, ma vi dico subito che lo schema narrativo dei due libri è completamente diverso; Non c'è quel collegamento diretto che Drew instaura con lettore, rivolgendosi direttamente a lui. Rhett racconta la sua storia mantenendo la virtuale separazione fra narrazione e lettore, e sta a noi, dunque, farci un'idea sulle situazioni e i personaggi a partire da quanto racconta Rhett.
Proprio a tal proposito vi dico che Quella notte tutto è cambiato è un libro sui generis perché fondamentalmente ci fa conoscere un donna, Clementine, completamente dal punto di vista di un uomo: come lettrici ci accorgiamo subito che Rhett, con la sua mentalità da uomo, non sta cogliendo tutta la verità - che ci sono sentimenti che Clementine nasconde - e sta a noi ipotizzarli e sondali interpretando il suo comportamento. Rhett, dal canto suo, rimane per buona parte del libro, cieco di fronte ad una verità abbagliante: da qui, il mio consiglio sul Maloox.
Il nodo centrale di Quella notte tutto è cambiato è l'amicizia fortissima tra Rhett Madison e Clementine O'Hara: lui è ricco, strabiliantemente bello e molto sicuro di se; lei è una studentessa modello, disinteressata ai ragazzi e alle storie di una notte, ancora ingenua. Non si potrebbero immaginare due persone più diverse eppure, Clementine e Rhett sono inseparabili sin dall' infanzia, dei veri e propri Best Friends Forever. Ma cosa succede quando l'amicizia comincia lentamente a trasformarsi in amore? O, ancora meglio, quando ci si accorge finalmente che quello che si prova non è amicizia? Non sarà facile, non sarà indolore e, quindi, è giusto che Quella Notte tutto è cambiato sia un libro a tratti combattuto, che ci fa un po' arrabbiare. Tutto comincia quando Clementine, dolce e innocente, decide che è il momento di fare esperienza con i ragazzi: il suo migliore amico Rhett, che di esperienza con l'altro sesso ne fa tanta ogni sera, non vede per niente di buon occhio la cosa. Clementine è la sua ancora, l'unica donna, nella sua vita, di cui si fidi e vederla tra le braccia di un altro uomo significherebbe inevitabilmente vederla allontanarsi dall'amicizia - quasi simbiotica- che li unisce. Best friend turned stories? Love them! Aaaaand, this is how you ruin it for me.
First off...Love me some jerkish guys. If you add a little bass in their voice and some attitide, it's even better. But Rhett was just....an asshole. He treats every woman like garbage. He basically talks to them like dogs (not even, people treat dogs with affection and respect) and they still throw panties at him.
Oh, yeah. Plus, all of the secondary female characters in the book are whores or stupid or a combination of both. Look, I'm not here to take up women's cause but holy shit.
Have I read books where the guys are less than chivalrous.
But those authors managed to pull it off. Unreachable bad boys with the attitude to match. Rhett just came across like an all around douche.
But of course, not to Clementine.
And here is my second problem. Clementine. All their conversations are like this:
C: What did you do last night?
R: Tit fucked (some girl whose name I can't remember)
C: Oh, Rhett!
R: What? That's how I roll.
C: *giggles*
Every conversation between those two was all the same. By the end of this book, I was cringing and praying my kindle would run out of batteries.

So ... a little disappointed over here! At first when I saw the author, the COVER, and the description I was like H*LL YEAH *clicks want to read*. It was NOT what I was expecting at points I just wanted to give it up and stop reading but i'm like NO ... pull yourself together and finish the damn novel. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't ALL that bad ... their friendship was cute and all. A lot was just lacking from this novel compared to other amazing books by J.S. Cooper like Crazy Beautiful Love! I don't even know what else to write except that I'm not sure if I want to read the next one ...

What a story!! I love the characters, the flow of the story, the writing style, all of it!
The story's exciting from the very start and there was never really a down time.
At first, I was kind of wary coz I might be expecting too much coz even though I love the plot, there's a chance that I might not like the writing style coz when I read FINDING MY PRINCE, I skipped a few times, and I'm thankful that the writing style on this one is way better than FMP.
I didn't get bored considering it's Rhett's and only Rhett's POV! Shocking!
I'm not gonna go on and on and say what happened in the novel. It's worth my time and hopefully there's book 2, coz the ending ain't enough for me. Should have made the story longer and I might have given it a 5 stars.

This was a quick fun read. It's been awhile since I've read a book from the male's POV so this was refreshing. Rhett's a jerk but at least he knows he's one or else I would've hated him more. Self-awareness is an attractive quality in jerks apparently. I'm a sucker for the best friend trope so this hit that spot. I really did enjoy the friendship and developing romantic relationship between Rhett and Clementine so most likely going to check out the next book.

I won this book in a give-away and wanted to give it a shot because the book blurb was so intriguing and well...just look at the cover. Need I say more?
If you would have asked me 50% of the way through the book what the rating was, I'd have given it 5 stars without blinking. But the story really fell short for me in the second half.
What I loved:
- This story is told 100% from Rhett's perspective, which is fresh and different and entertaining - especially when the author does a nice job of actually making it sound like it is coming from a guy.
- The story is also told in first person, past tense which really works in this situation because we're experiencing all of Rhett's emotions along with him as he goes through his discovery of his real feelings for Clementine.
- The friendship between Rhett and Clementine is so sweet and wonderful. Their interaction made me laugh and I love how clever Clementine is throughout the story.
- And although Rhett is a real pig towards most women - and I mean P*I*G - he's so loving and protective of Clementine which is entertaining to experience.
- Clementine's family is great and I loved how they essentially 'adopted' Rhett and gave the two kids free range to be best friends despite their opposite sex. There was no judgment. Just love.
- They get their HEA which always makes me happy.
What bothered me:
- When I got to the part of the book that was the huge climatic moment, I felt like if the story telling had been superb, then I should have been balling my eyes out. But I didn't. Because quite frankly, some of the things Rhett did were downright thoughtless and selfish moves. So I really struggled to feel sympathy for him. The author was walking a really fine line here when she chose to write this story from Rhett's perspective and, unfortunately, I think she crossed the line. By giving me access to his EVERY thought, and let me tell you - he doesn't give a crap about anyone (except Clementine and her family), I kind of didn't like him the more the story went on and the more I fell in love with Clementine. She deserved better than Rhett. However, just a few changes and I think Rhett could have been that bad boy you can't help but love.
- If Rhett had shown how much he REALLY cared about Clementine by facing her and telling her the truth himself about what happened **SPOILER** with her best friend, it would have made a world of difference to me and how I viewed Rhett. Clemmie was his best friend. He claimed to love her as a friend and respect her. But his actions showed otherwise. Instead of manning up, he chickens out, being selfish again, even though he knows there is a high likelihood Clementine will find out from her best friend. So Clemmie finds out this horrible news second hand. Sorry folks - but that's not love. And so I was completely on Clementine's side and felt absolutely zero sympathy for Rhett when he was devastated. However, the story is told from his perspective...shouldn't I have felt sorry for the hero and wanted to cry along with him?
- He does eventually grovel but in a way that was pretty cheesy if you ask me. I think that scene could have worked if the author had cut down Rhett's dialog to focus on the key message. He just went on and on and on so the impact was lost on me. The intention was beautiful but the execution of that scene needed work for it to resonate with me.
- There were more than a handful of grammatical errors in this book - mostly words that were misplaced or wrong.
- I know this is a nit - but I hate it when the book cover doesn't match my vision of the character. Rhett is supposed to be BLOND. The cover is fabulous...don't get me wrong. That guy is HOT. But if you want to use that cover, then for crying out loud go change the hair color of your character in the book to match!
Would I recommend reading this book? Absolutely. The friendship that Clementine offers is so pure and beautiful that it's worth reading for that reason alone and I did giggle in several places.
I won this book in a give-away and wanted to give it a shot because the book blurb was so intriguing and well...just look at the cover. Need I say more?
If you would have asked me 50% of the way through the book what the rating was, I'd have given it 5 stars without blinking. But the story really fell short for me in the second half.
What I loved:
- This story is told 100% from Rhett's perspective, which is fresh and different and entertaining - especially when the author does a nice job of actually making it sound like it is coming from a guy.
- The story is also told in first person, past tense which really works in this situation because we're experiencing all of Rhett's emotions along with him as he goes through his discovery of his real feelings for Clementine.
- The friendship between Rhett and Clementine is so sweet and wonderful. Their interaction made me laugh and I love how clever Clementine is throughout the story.
- And although Rhett is a real pig towards most women - and I mean P*I*G - he's so loving and protective of Clementine which is entertaining to experience.
- Clementine's family is great and I loved how they essentially 'adopted' Rhett and gave the two kids free range to be best friends despite their opposite sex. There was no judgment. Just love.

La trama di Quella notte tutto è cambiato prometteva abbastanza bene. D'accordo, ha in sé parecchi cliché, ma non sono quel tipo di lettrice che ci pensa troppo. Se il cliché è usato bene, allora ben venga. D'altronde, con tutti i libri che ci sono in commercio, non cadere nella retorica è abbastanza difficile. E quando leggo qualcosa di decisamente innovativo, impazzisco dalla gioia. Non è questo il caso, purtroppo.
Rhett è il classico cattivo ragazzo di ogni normale romanzo: non ha una relazione stabile (non vuole averla), gli piace divertirsi e andare a letto con ragazze che puntualmente si innamorano e puntualmente lui non richiama. La sua solo stabilità in una vita così sgretolata è Clementine. Clemmie - come la chiama lui - è il suo opposto. Vergine convinta, perché vuole conservarsi per il matrimonio, studiosa e seria. Sono amici da quando hanno undici anni e questo non è mai cambiato nel corso degli anni. Non starò qui a dirvi tutto, ma diciamo che la base classica di questa situazione c'è. Rhett iperprotettivo nei riguardi di Clemmie? C'è. Rhett ipergeloso quando entra in scena un ragazzo che potrebbe diventare il suo ragazzo? C'è. E così via. Cliché del genere che, se usati meglio, sarebbero potuti anche essere interessanti, ma purtroppo...
Il romanzo è raccontato interamente da Rhett. Ci troviamo perciò con punto di vista maschile che narra tutta la storia. E questo, secondo me, è stata una bella idea. La pecca grossa riguarda la trama. Penso che le idee della Cooper non fossero brutte, ma che non le abbia sapute sfruttare. E questo spiega le due stelline e mezza al posto dello zero spaccato. Lo consiglio, non lo consiglio? In tutta onestà, non lo so. Io forse no, non lo consiglio, ma mi sono imbattuta in recensioni ultrapositive. Lettori e blogger che hanno amato questo libro, quindi magari è solo il mio parere. Il mio consiglio, perciò, è: spulciate sul web altre recensioni, cercate altri pareri, leggete la trama e scaricatevi l'estratto magari. E se proprio vi piace, compratevi l'ebook. E' sicuramente un risparmio, nel caso ne rimaneste deluse anche voi.
