🤦🏾♀️ I DNF @ 92%!!!
92% y’all!!!! As soon as they introduced Klarity’s long lost sister I was done. Because WTF?! I made myself finish this book. I was already pissed because (steps on soapbox) WHY EVERY BBW BOOK THE FMC HAS TO BE INSECURE ABOUT HER WEIGHT?! That mess just grinds my gears. Smh…
Trench and Klarity got on my nerves. I was only trying to finish to see how Ciera and Terror ended up. Then, I needed to know if Klarity took Trench back, but it was too much. The story was just all over the place.
I did love how Trench catered to klarity and Terror stepped in to ensure Ciera’s safety because clearly her husband Travis was a POS. Other than that…I wish I could get my time back. 😒🤦🏾♀️

Nonsense. Utter nonsense. Fiction, I get it...but this book, was borderline ridiculous. The title alone of this book should have hinder me from reading it, because Trench was not grumpy. He was an assassin who obviously didn't break bread with others. Level of character descriptions was non existent. Trench/Tymel owned a weed farm, a studio with tattoos and a grill and Klarity was a big girl. This book was not cohesive and the way that Trench and Klarity got together made zero sense. Definitely not satisfied with this read, I'm definitely irritated. Won't probably read another book by this author.

The love story between Klarity and Trench was passionate and he was very complimentary of her looks and curvy figure, an insecurity of hers that she held to be the reason behind her not making it big as a singer/songwriter. This, his encouragement, and his protectiveness of Klarity, had a strong redeeming quality to his morally-gray character and I rooted for both him and Klarity equally. While I liked Ciera, Klarity’s best friend, and her story with Terror but at times it would become confusing because their stories were similar (as were their names). The couple could easily have their own book, and it was hard to keep up with both couples.
The witty banter and dialogue between characters was a huge plus for me. Minus the tragic occurrences, this novel could pass as a rom-com. Many times I laughed out loud! It was enjoyable to read and the non-stop action made this a page-turner. I breezed through this read.
Drama abounds, including a hilarious epic geriatric home group beat-down reminiscent of a reality show reunion, oxygen tanks flying through the air and all; betrayal; love; loss and tragedy, ending on a beautiful HEA.
There were a few scenes that felt badly timed where ultimate joy was hit by crushing sorrow within one page. This book is dramatic, yes, but some of the scenes are unrealistically so. Even so, I really enjoyed this urban romance, finding it similar to other organized crime/Mafia romances I read. I would recommend this book and would definitely read more stories by the Author.

Must Read
Klarity shouldn't have shedded one damn tear over Tony. He had just packed his bags and was breaking up with her 5 minutes before a bullet struck him. Tony was verbally and physically abusive, gave her multiple STD'S, lied to her and on her, cheated, had two children outside of their relationship, didn't work, belittle her about her weight, etc. Tony was a piece of s**t. Klarity didn't understand how a man of Trench stature was smitten and interested in her. Her insecurities about her weight had her feeling undeserving of fulfilling her dreams of being a singer, being love properly, and happy. Trench applying pressure boosted Klarity self esteem and I loved that for her. Trench was grumpy. He dealt with a lot of trauma behind the death of his father because he almost lost his life as well. However Klarity was able to melt the ice around Trench heart. Although Trench had a hidden agenda getting with Klarity. I understand why she was angry at Trench after finding out the truth, as well as feeling being used as a pawn but using her ex Tony as one of excuses for being been mad me looking at her side way's. When Ciera had a feeling her husband Travis was cheating. I thought his ass might've been cheating with a man because of how he was acting like a little bitty b***h. He knew Ciera biggest dreams was to have children. Travis was making excuses and using condom's with his wife was a huge red flag. After being in her feelings over her marriage and going to Terror after party almost getting raped. Ciera learned a hard lesson. For weeks Terror had nursed her back to health and not one time while she was missing did Travis acted like he was concerned of her where abouts. Terror became smitten with Ciera and staked his claim. When Ciera went back home and Terror showed up at her and Travis house. I was laughing. Travis walked in and didn't do a damn thing when Terror checked him. I wasn't even surprised when Terror found out not only was Travis cheating on Ciera. The fool had a football team of children. That's why he was always broke, couldn't help Ciera pay bills, and didn't want children with her

great read
Umm Mr trench. Oh wheee I like klarity cause don’t let them play with u like this. Sus gotta let Tony lie where he may 😂😂 Travis either 8y or a serial cheater not the grill in the mouth had it smelling like Pooh 😂 I’m so weak and tickled. Awe I hope someone get to cici before stinky mouth do something to her. I hope kj and ci gets together. It’s definitely time for her and ci to let them lame exs go. Kj and tj is so funny. Now they both pregnant by them crazy brothers. 😂😂 I believe they daddy just passed his craziness on to them. I’m starting to get iffy about trench them honestly cause why u keep lying and hiding stuff. These females is weak and ion like that. At the beginning of the book u gave him another name his name is tymel instead of Tremaine and again with the lil boy name but definitely a great read. Can’t wait for them to make an appearance again.

For a second I didn’t see Klarity breaking Trench but she really woke him up and broke that grumpiness right out of him! I loved that she found someone that was willing to do anything and everything to make sure that she felt loved and cherished! I was confused about the way Tony made up that lie to leave her but when the explanation came about it kind of made sense until that flashback came about! I was happy to see Klarity had a good support system and they backed her in everything she did. As for Ciera I was happy to see her find a real love too her husband was trash! Once he never asked for anyone to put out a search warrant for get I knew are made the right decision in picking Keron. Keron came through and played no games about Ciera! I loved this story!

I personally don't like when an author doesn't describe in detail how characters look, especially the main ones. All I remember about Klarity was that she was a big girl. Trench had tattoos. But Terror and Ciera???? NOTHING! How tall were they? Skin tone? Chocolate, caramel, sienna golden, almond,chestnut???? What size clothes did she wear? What color were their eyes? Did she/he have dimples? How long was her hair? Did he have locs, a low cut Ceasar, a high top fade??
Things moved quickly but not in a realistic way for both couples. Trench wasn't grumpy to me, he was possessive, and pushy. The story itself had few grammatical errors. I didn't understand what happened with the momma being an assassin?? I thought he killed all of the people who killed his father. Did his mom kill some too? Of was she just killing random people far money?

Grumpy Hood Boss
This was a pretty good read. The only thing that seemed to bother me was how fast the relationship happened between Trench & Klarity. It seemed like something was missing, like some info was left out. But I guess when you are a boss and as unstable as Trench, you definitely get your way. From the beginning I felt like Trench was hiding something and initially thought Klarity was a job. And what was really up with the uncle? I feel like he had some ulterior motive with the brothers. Trench and Terror mom totally caught me off guard. There seemed to be a name switch during the book but it really wasnt too many grammar errors that took away from the story overall.

Great Read
I really enjoyed this read. Tony did deserve Klarity to begin with if he allowed Trench to make him agree to that dumb plan only to be taken out cause he got reckless with his hands by the same man he made a deal with. Even though Trench went about it all the way wrong I love them together but my favorite is Terror. He saved Ciera and made her his. I knew Travis was on some other shyt but never would have guessed he had all that going on and didn't want to sign the divorce papers Terror sent him for Ciera. This was a great read and I look forward to more from Talehia.💞💞

Trench!!
It was a great read. I like how Trench went about getting Klarity. Because he upgraded her life from the struggle all because he fell in love with her voice. Klarity was standing on business because it was wrong for killing Tony in front of her, but he did put his hands on her. Terror was the truth he came and claimed Ciera off the muscle, and im glad he did what he did because she would have never found out about Travis second family. I loved all the mothers they was on all of them. I was sad when the boys mother passed. She didn't get a chance to hold her first grandchild. I love this book and will recommend that everybody read it.

This book was good from the beginning to the end. Klarity was going through it throughout this whole book in the beginning. I felt so sorry for her. From the ex boyfriend til eviction. But she definitely made it work no matter what situation came up in her life. I wanted to hurt Trench so bad for that deal he had to make. I’m glad his mother showed up when she did and told him to tell her about it because she was going to find out one way or another. His mother was a g for real. Ciera’s whole marriage had me looking sideways. But I’m glad she found Terror in the process.

What Happens When The Game Turned Around
Talehia, lawd have mercy. I loved these characters, from the momma' s to the siblings to the friends, and each of them had so much strength in their parts. Klarity showed her strength by keeping it together until she couldn't. Ciera thought she knew what her world was, but baby, oh baby. I love how crazy Keron and Trench were.
They really showed their hearts. Maybe it may have been unconventional, but done oh so well. Good read 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

This review is based on the book and not the audio. However, I listened to this. I will say the narrators of the audiobook version almost made this book unreadable, but I kept going.
This was one of the funniest books I have listened to or read in the last year. It is something about unhinged men that keeps me entertained, but the book was just pure comedy. I was listening on Hoopla and loved it so much I brought it on Amazon (the ebook). I highly recommend this, and this will be one of my comfort reads!

This book was terrible. Author has no knowledge of descriptive writing....not correctly. One moment they are sitting on the couch, and then the next paragraph, they are walking through field.
Also the character development was non-existent. They meet, hook up, and within 12 hours he is acting as if he knows everything about her and been in her life forever. There was no relationship development. It just was....

started off good
Ghis in s was my first read by Talehia it started off good but then it was all over the place…the MMC didn’t give grumpy but manipulative I didn’t get that Ciera’s husband was a cheater if FMC knew she existed why not come find her and when did BDSM come into play and the ending seemed rushed too many an ok read but not for me maybe be for someone else I will try something else from her library

i’m gonna be honest and say that this book was absolutely ridiculous and definitely nonsense. nothing that happened in this book was cohesive. things were kind of just thrown in there and you just had to be like okay well, not really sure how we got here but okay and then we move on. the time jumps alone had me like ???? the random jumpscare/trauma dump that was her mom’s background to the random long lost sister that was introduced in the last 10 minutes of the story.

Wow! I loved this book! Klarity and Trench are so very good together. I love Terror and Ciara together bcuz her husband didn't deserve her. I don't know who was worst Terror or Trench, they both are some crazy brothers. Tony just got what he deserved. Trench and Terror mama was a gangster sorry she had to die.I'm happy everything worked out for everyone!

This book started out slow. I’m glad I didn’t put it down like I was going to.
Trench—he went after what he wanted and didn’t let no one stand in his way. Klarity was a prime example. I don’t see how she stayed with his grouchy self, but she did.
Terror saved Ciara in more ways than one. She even got what she couldn’t get from Trevor out of Terror.

I really enjoyed this book Klarity was done dirty all her life and Trench walks in and changes things in one day what a Grumpy Hood Boss but an amazing man. Ciera is the best friend to Klarity and she is placed in a very dangerous situation that Terror saves her from and their love story begins. This book was a page Turner definitely a must read.

Trench and Terror met their match when they met and fell in love with BFF’s Klarity and Ciera. Trench and Terror upgraded Klarity and Ciera lives. Klarity was just what Trench needed to come out of his shell and stop being grumpy. Both relationships had bumps in the roads but everything worked out. This was definitely a good read

Great read!! Although things didn’t start off all the way right, the love that grew was amazing. All of the couples needed each other and made whole 🩷 Trench and Terror was definitely unhinged lol, and I can’t believe Travis ugly, triflin self made mad. Happy that Ciera was freed from him. Amazing job Talehia !!!

Good read. I’m glad Klarity found a man to really love her. Trench may have been a little unorthodox about the way he went about pursuing her but it was all love. Terror was not playing about Ciera. Travis was a whole trip living a double life. Ciera glowed up on him once she got with Terror. Glad these couples got their happy ending.

I loved it from beginning to end. These characters were top tier crazy. Talehia has always written good books but this one here no different. It’s not rushed the storyline flows well. She takes on a high and gives you lows . We will send a prayer for Trenches cause baby he know he different type of special. If you’re looking for a good book this is the one good job

I really enjoyed reading this book. Trench was such a hilarious character with a surprisingly tender side. His journey from falling in love with a voice to meeting someone special in Klarity was captivating. And despite Terror's slightly wild nature, his unwavering love and loyalty for Cierra were truly touching. Overall, it was a story that I found very enjoyable.

I see where the story was trying to go but the execution was not there. This read more like an outline of how the story would go and not the actual story, everything was brought up and rushed through making not a lick of sense. I'm sorry but this was horrible, seriously. Way to rushed, to the point it fell very flat.

It wasn’t bad it was kind of good it had potential but it was kind of rushed then it didn’t go together but it was exciting to me it really just didn’t make a whole lot of sense but it was entertaining and I was invested so I finished it but it really was all over the place and just not believable at all.

I’m making myself finish what I started. This book is ridiculously thrown together.There is nothing but cliches throughout. Some of everything that has happened in other books poured into this one and it makes no sense at all. Waste of my dog gone time. Bunch of liars giving this book good reviews!!!
