Deception is a coming-of-age story of a young psychiatrist trying to sort out the truth from the many lies he encounters, starting from early adolescence through early career. He writes about his life in a journal but one of his patients steals it and decides to self publish it in his name. The novel brings up common traumatic life experiences as well as the bizarre unexpected twists and turns a psychiatrist encounters in a practice. The many forms of deception are revealed through a variety of colorful characters. While our good psychiatrist is trusting of his patients, not all would agree since a serial killer is at large, killing members of the psychiatrist’s old college roommate's fraternity. Can it be someone the psychiatrist knows or one of his patients? How can we find the truth? Contains LGBTQ charaters.
Five star Can the real author give a review of their novel if their manuscript was stolen and published by one of its characters? Is this just another example of the many forms of deception they have written about? I say yes. Verified Author
