This cutting-edge guide not only shows how AI is transforming our careers, lives, businesses, and more, but also provides easy, actionable steps to make AI work for us.
In this groundbreaking book, celebrated professor, entrepreneur, author, and podcaster Marc Beckman explores the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI) and how it’s poised to enhance and transform all aspects of society—revolutionizing our careers, enriching our family lives, and bringing our communities closer together. From business and advertising, to medicine, to warfare, to politics—Beckman meticulously explores the different areas where we’ll soon feel AI’s transformative impact. But that’s only half of it. Throughout this book, he also provides the specific steps readers can take now to make sure these coming changes work for them.
From the workplace to the home, AI is poised to reshape the way we approach our professional and personal lives. Beckman uses this book to make the case that AI will free up valuable time and energy, allowing individuals to focus on more creative and meaningful work, but also that AI will create possibilities for engagement that were unthinkable just a generation ago. He shows that with AI as our co-pilot, we’ll unlock new opportunities for growth, innovation, and collaboration—all of which will lead to more fulfilling and rewarding careers. Beckman illustrates how AI will strengthen family bonds and improve the quality of our home lives too, changing everything from how we educate our kids to how we stay connected on social media. And as AI becomes more integrated into our cities and towns, it will play a crucial role in fostering a sense of community and belonging; through AI-powered platforms, Beckman shows how we will collaborate on projects, share resources, and support one another in times of need.
This thought-provoking and essential book is a definitive guide to the many ways in which AI will transform our lives for the better . . . but also surprise us, delight us, force us to (re)consider how we interact with one another, and make us question what exactly counts as “human.” Join Marc Beckman on this exciting journey as he explores the near-endless possibilities of a world powered and transformed by artificial intelligence. It’s an Age of Imagination . . . where the only limit is your own mind.
I don't take pleasure in writing a review like this as someone who has never written a book. Nevertheless, this book was not very good. And it certainly wasn't "groundbreaking" as advertised. As someone skeptical of AI, I was hoping that this book would change my mind and alleviate my fears about AI. Instead, I am more afraid than ever. The author's pitch is that AI is transformative and positive. He writes about how it will make human lives easier by ushering in an "Age of Imagination." The way this book basically goes is "AI can do X intellectual task" over and over again. It was a broad, surface level overview of all the things that AI is doing now and will do in the future. AI will lead to artistic, medical, social, financial, and other advances. This is all great - AI can do impressive things. The problem is that you do not get much more from this book than you could get if just searched some of these things online. This book is basically an AI puff-piece for $12.99.
The author is an AI-cheerleader. He raised some critical points about AI (mostly in the last chapter), but did not spend enough time on them. The author hardly addressed people's fears about massive lay-offs caused by AI. If AI is as powerful as the author writes, there is little role for humans in non-physical jobs. Saying that there will always be a role for humans as "checkers" for AI only goes so far. When the AI surpasses the intelligence of a human, why not just have AIs check eachother? The author insists that AI will be a boon for creativity - it will aid the independent fashion designed by allowing the designed to easily create and manufacture her designs. But you can design clothes this easily then everyone will design their own clothes and the market will just be oversaturated and there will be no winners. And what about loss of motivation for authors and artists? If AI can do the work so easily -- and do it better -- think about the people that will just give up. It might take years to research a book that AI can write in an instant.
Then there were also the typical cliche rants about things the toxicity of social media and politics in the Trump-era. Anyone who is going to pick up this book knows those things already. There was no need to fill space with this kind of unoriginal analysis. The time would have been better spent addressing the concerns about mass layoffs. It was almost like the author needed to check a box to let people know where he stands politically. Which is fine, I guess, but it added little to the book.
Rant over. I'll end on a positive note. The book was well written and easy to read. I'll admit that it is difficult to write about AI because it is developing so rapidly and so new. I just wish the author took less of a cheerleader approach and gave more of its criticisms the time of day. Unfortunately, after this book I feel only incrementally better at navigating the AI era or "Age of Imagination" if you will.

Some Future Day serves as both a thought-provoking analysis and a practical roadmap, guiding readers and listeners through the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence and its far-reaching implications.
A somewhat interesting look at the supposed steamroller bearing down on us all namely Artificial Intelligence or AI. We see it cropping up here and there, but soon it will be a raging wild fire that will transpose anything and everything if you believe all the hype. Some is hype no doubt but some is reality changing the landscape daily.
This book present numerous topics related to AI and delves into what is coming and how it will affect us to one degree or other. Many implication to consider and the author does a fairly good job in presenting his outlook. He also provides many resources and platforms to look at the beast first hand and thus educational for a look see.
NOPE. Was there even an editor? It honestly reads like AI slop. My notebook is full of quotes that are verifiably false or misleading. At best it was bad propaganda.
