In this fourth in the series of the Agate Path, Adela lets Finn think he is whisking Adela away on another of his rescues but she has her own agenda and receives her own special gift. Finn's conversation skills as well as his own special abilities have improved but these abilities will be again tested not as much by Adela's own secrets as by the truth kept from them both and the grotesque opposition that appears equal to the powers given them. Sometimes it is a physical challenge that must be overcome, sometimes it can be monsters, occasionally the obstacle lies in the mind of the challenger. This time it is all three.
Ronald H. Reynolds, a former cave guide, lecturer on birds, jungle dweller, and zoologist, changed his life in order to support eight sons and a daughter. After decades of writing for judge and jury as a lawyer, he is back at his old habits of daydreaming now that his children have taken their own paths.
During 2013 and 2014, Reynolds released all six books of his The Agate Path book series.
