Troy Osgood

Born and raised in the granite state of New Hampshire, Troy is a lifelong and avid reader of comic books and novels (mostly in the fantasy, sci-fi and adventure/thriller genres). The ongoing serial storytelling methods of comic books and television has always fascinated him and provided inspiration for his writing. He’s always had a love of creating and world building and dreams of someday seeing his creations expressed across all media: books, comic books, movies, TV and even toys.

When not writing, Troy can be found outside hiking, kayaking or out back at the bonfire with beer in hand. Don’t expect to bother him during football season, especially when the Patriots are playing.

There are too many threats to the clan and not enough forward movement. I do not want to wait until book ten when they finally discover fire.

I don't know if it is a lack of skill or experience, but the author is writing far beyond his ken.

Frustratingly slow paced.

After 4 books we're at the point where I'd expected us to be around book 2. We're in exactly the same location, with exactly the same characters and exactly the same powers. The main "Silverbark" story arc of this book doesn't even get finished. For some reason there just seem to be 2 chapters missing to wrap that up. No cliffhanger, just gone.

I like what this story is trying to do, but the pacing just kills it.

I read the first three books of the Connected System via audiobooks and I think they work a little better in that format (with a 1.5 or higher speed), rather than ebooks. I found myself frustrated at the slow pace of the book and it seemed that barely anything actually transpired during the course of the book.
I probably would have given this a four-star rating, but the editing was just not there. Again, maybe I wouldn't have noticed it so much with audio, but there were many simple proofreading errors that popped up throughout the book and it seemed that the author and publisher rushed the production process to get it out.

Not perfect but still a decent read

This entire series is a much slower build up than most series of this genre. It’s not necessarily a bad thing but it is frustratingly slow. The MC finally reunited with his wife almost at the end of the 4th book. Having said all that, the world building is incredible. So many story perspectives to read about.

Solid continuation of the series

We finally start to see some progression from the clan, instead of problems mounting. I understand the author was trying to portray a difficult time rebuilding, but he may have overdone that part.

Still an excellent series, and I love the family dynamics, which add a great element to this otherwise typical story in this genre.

Good story, poor editing

The premise is still good, the editing not so much. There are a LOT of typos or the wrong words used, continuity errors, even a few lines apart. At points it feels like it's maybe a last draft waiting for a final edit that just never happened.
Would have got fewer stars if it wasn't free.

Doing the part

This is easily one of my favorite series, every aspect from the characters to the plot and setting makes for a riveting read! I couldn't put it down! I cannot rec comment it enough and I cannot wait for the next in the series!

Awesome!! But.... Editing needed.

Great story progression, characters, world building. Really needs more editing. Lots of missed words, spelling errors, much more than usual. Can't wait for the next, especially as there's a mild cliffhanger. Great series.

Good series

Needs some more editing as there are still some errors but the overall story is great. Plot lines are not just left open forever and the characters are believable. And having lived in the NorthEast it's great to recognize landmarks.

War in the apocalypse!

I liked that this book tied some of the loose ends together. Didn't like all the interference from the gods, but the plot thickens and expands. Looking forward to more resolution in the next book!

Clan Brady for the Win

It's just another whirlwind adventure of fun, fighting, and family. I mean, what can go wrong, but also what can go right? I love this series, and I'm ready for book 5. Hopefully, there’ll be either more books or a continuation of some of the key characters.

Less is more

The series is interesting and enjoyable. Yet, it seems long winded in various descriptions. More is not always better.
I feel like the editor told the author, it felt light, add 20%.

Very good book

This is a fine fantasy gamelit adventure novel. It is well written and edited. I especially like the Larry. I anxiously await the sequel.

Only one problem prevents 5 stars

Lack of editing. There are some jarring word replacements. Still, I am looking forward to reading more of this story.

editing

Aetheon puts out good books, but they really need a better editing system. They should hire us. Good story though.
