Baby on a doorstep

The heroine found the baby on the doorstep and thought it was her estranged husband so she called him home. They had been caught in a compromising position and he married her and left her alone on her wedding day. It was 9 months later and he was such an arse! He made decisions for her because he thought he wouldn't be a good husband. And he is stubborn until the end. It was quite annoying. And this brother was a jerk too. Believe me he was far worse. Nice clean romance.

The writing was ok but at one point everything was so cliché, it was almost painful to read. Like its not bad but nothing special.

HER FEAR WAS BEING ALONE-HIS WAS THE OPPOSITE

LADY HARRIET - at twenty three was the youngest of three sisters - both her sisters were happily married, she was quite lonely without them, her mother was constantly at her to marry, wary that her mother may do something to hurry it along.
Attending a ball Harriet saw a friend of her mothers rushing towards her informing that her mother was unwell and in the testing in the conservatory.
Calling for her mother as she opened the door it was quite dark, pushing the door open
which was quite stiff she turned to close it
"DON'T CLOSE THAT DOOR" a deep voice shouted. (It only opens from the outside) he said introducing himself.
SIMON WYLDE -DUKE OF ATHERTON
"You think it can compromise me into marriage"
Just then her mother turned up with some friends.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS - BRILLIANT CHARACTERS - SIMON - LOVED HIM
HARRIET - SO KIND AND GENEROUS -
I RECEIVED AN ARC
A MUST READ

I enjoyed this book, probably not as much as the previous 2, but it was still great! I think Albina, the mother, annoyed me in the previous books, and then in this book I just couldn't stand her, she makes your skin crawl... which I guess is the whole point! Even when she apologises at the end, I can't believe it, people don't change just because they've thought about what they've done, it takes time.
Despite her, I thought Harriet and Simon's story was relatively sweet, there were some very tender moments in there, especially when the brother got involved, I enjoyed his little side-story to redemption.
Like most romance novels, the main characters suffer from a lack of communication where neither express their thoughts, and when one finally does, the other either isn't listening or misinterprets, or just hears what they want to hear to support their own beliefs anyway!
All in all, a good read :)

Great Clean Romance!!!

Caught in a trap that neither of them anticipated Harriet and Simon deal with the fallout. Simon leaves Harriet alone for almost a year and she feels his absence keenly. When a situation happens that brings them back together the real fun begins. As I was reading this story I was filled with curiosity as to how they would find a way to be together. It takes time and many highs and lows but the journey is worth it. I loved how this story worked out not only for Harriet and Simon but also for his brother Tobias. Both men were affected by the way their father treated their mother but it manifested itself in much different way. I also loved the way the situation resolved itself. I highly recommend this story for anyone who likes to read clean Regency romance.

I appreciate how Harriet stood up for herself & was reasonable, trying to be fair without let him walk all over her. I found Simons behavior kinda confusing, I felt he was unreasonable though he was really more misguided. I did really like how honorable he was & the opposite of a rake & he did make sure she was taking care of herself & tried to do what was right. There were some humorous moments. I did appreciate how they for the most part worked together & tried to understand each other. I wish they had been more open with each other earlier in the Book & that they was more of a love story between them, instead of sometimes friends, sometimes acquaintances, until the end. Though the last chapter & both epilogues were great!

Baby Problem

Typical Regency romance but with a plot twist that is actually a distraction. Someone should have paid greater attention to the physical characteristics of a nearly one year old child. At that age the child is a prewalker or walking. Also, what was the point of spending a chapter to hiring a nursemaid who really isn’t a caretaker for the child. In what regency world is the nursemaid a day worker, especially in the employ of a very wealthy duke? Despite these inconsistencies/distractions and a few others I didn’t point out, it was a cute story. After all, romance novels are meant to be entertaining.

Good read!

Duke Simon decided never to marry. He never wanted to become like his father who was a notorious rake. Lady Harriet was the youngest of three daughters. Her sisters were married and their mother would find a way to marry off Harriet as well. She arranged for the Duke and Harriet to be found alone forcing a marriage. The trouble is just beginning when the groom leaves the day after the wedding. This is a delightful love story filled with emotion and surprises. Will Harriet and Simon have a future? Will circumstances keep them apart?

Great story!

Simon was a Duke that swore to never marry because he didn’t want to be like his father. Harriet was the last of three woman in her family to marry. Her mother reminded her of it everyday. At a ball her mother asked her to meet her in the orangery, so Harriet went in and shut the door. She was trapped in with Simon, a Duke. He had to marry her to save her reputation. He left that night for nine months, to return only because a baby was left on their doorstep. Please read to find quite an adventure.

Good story, but...

Repeated editing flubs really jolted me out of the story. What's going on with writers who can't choose the correct homonym? For the record, you *never* "rack" your brain, unless you're a mad scientist with a large collection of them on display... You WRACK your brain to sift through facts and solve a question.

Seriously, is everyone using speech wreck (homonym intentional) and a quick run through spellcheck instead of spelling things our on a proper keyboard?

*sigh*

A baby brings them together. The heroine’s conniving mother traps her and the hero into a marriage. The heroine leaves the day after the wedding. During that first year the heroine becomes a duchess. Then a baby is left in her care. She asks the hero to help her find the parents. As they work through the mystery, they become acquainted with each other. It was a good story as I love stories with babies. The editing could have been better.

Nah.
This was boring. I would not say it’s bad because it was kinda cute at first but the H’s behaviour was too rude. He was too cold and unfeeling.
He just leaves the h, his bride after there wedding. He doesn’t come until she summons him due to emergency. That’s for almost a year.
Also the baby left on the doorstep and the h directly blaming the H that it’s his without any information was stupid.

love heals

Lovely story of how two brothers Simon and Tobias conquered their fears to embrace love. Scared by their father’s rakish attitude they didn’t realise how it affected them. It was hard for them to commit but Harriet and Emma finally managed to break their barriers and won their heart.
I enjoyed how little Cathy brought the family together. A beautiful story not to be missed

Reluctantly wed

Harriet and Simon were tricked into a compromising situation and were forced to marry. Both were reluctant for their own reasons. The arrival of a tiny baby shook up their marriage and made them finally get to know one another. In the process, both learned that the future doesn't have to be a repeat of the past. The characters in this story were creative problem solvers, operating in unexpected ways. A good book.

I do and Goodbye!

This is what happened when Harriet and Simon are caught together, a set up by her mother! He does the honorable thing and they were married, but leaves her at his estate and goes to Bath. When a baby girl is left on her doorstep, she sends him a message to return to the estate. She’s under to impression it is his child, and she is furious! When he arrives and learns of the child, a very interesting story takes place.

The problem was who were this baby,s parents. She was quick to blame her husband and he said no. It was not his child.

A family Complete

This is the story of Harriet and Simon, caught in a compromised situation, not of their doing. They were strangers forced to abide by society rules. So they married . Simon left the day they married, leaving Harriet alone. Then fate stepped in , in the form of an abandoned baby left on their door step. And that one little miracle worked her magic. On a marriage that wasn't complete.
Thank you ♥️

A New Beginning & A Homecoming..

After a year her husband, the Duke, returns home to find a baby that isn’t his …and backlash from his wife. From being so foolish to think it was for the best, the duke has targeted his brother & himself. Will everything work out as planned; or will it all go up in smoke? Only Time & love will tell!!

I just... this is supposed to be an historically accurate regency romance and I didn't feel it was.
I had a hard time believing that the h would be "raised" by her sister and would care for the baby herself. She's a duchess! Surely there are things she has to do?
Anyway, the story is cute and had happy endings for all around.

This was an entertaining novel, but I questioned the logic of the husband not wanting to commit to a marriage because of his father's negative role model. I also saw several errors in the writing or typing-I'm not sure which- but whole words were omitted in the narrative. I did enjoy the story of the duchess and her duke trying to find the mother of a baby left on their doorstep, and I enjoyed seeing the couple find true love for each other in spite of their different views on life.

Wonderful Series!

I really enjoyed this three book series! It’s a joy to see family dynamics woven throughout each story, in a world where a woman marrying and marrying well was all many women of this era could ascribe to. There is little doubt most of these marriages were transactions, but seeing love prevail in some, is a joy. A very good read!

Good story but bad editing.

I liked the story but all of the typos were very distracting. Someone should edit the book before it is published. Words were out of order, were repeated or wrong word was used. Example: recused rather than rescued.

Double Romance

This was a really good finish to the 3 sisters and their various romances. Love ones with children/babies and sweet baby Catherine and the mystery surrounding her made it even better. The added side romance was good and touching too. Really enjoyed this.

love and courage found

Simon was so afraid of becoming like his father That he did not want to laugh. Harriet and maybe Catherine taught him there was another way, And in the process they helped his brother to grow up. A nicely paced and an enjoyable story

A wonderful love story.

It didn't start too well for the star crossed lovers, but the story evolved that saw another couple reunited and a family brought together. It was beautiful and so much more truthful as love can be. It took time but in the end? Read it and see.

Nice romance but not very sexy

Nice and predictable plot. No sensual situations…should be more steamy and exciting … No passion between them and situations/titles references completely out of the ordinary for the period

Harriet

This book was delightful. Harriet and Simon demonstrate the hardships, insecurities and conflicts that challenge many people in life. Harriet is a strong female character which I enjoy in books and has a commanding role. Sweet read with a few twists and surprises.

A sweet ending to the trilogy

It was a painful start, if you get involved in the lives of the characters you read... But it had a satisfying happily ever after that wrapped up several loose ends! I love when that happens 😊

interesting

Interesting review of old topic. Mystery good, psychology interesting. What happened to nursemaid? Ending with parent questionable. Altogether pretty good book, just left me with questions.
