At the end of my rope and out of options, I’m on my way to Dry Valley, Nevada. To attend the funeral of a father I’ve never met and into a world I could have never imagined.

A world where I’d do anything to survive.

I’d expected the outlaw bikers, the drugs, and even the violence. What I hadn’t expected was the six feet of leather clad bad boy, Cam Savage, pinning me to a mattress.

Now I can’t think of anything else…

What a read. I was so engrossed that when the book ended, I was not happy to learn I had to wait till November for the conclusion! This MX romance read was so well written that I felt the emotions of the characters. I can't wait for the next book, Vicious Hearts!

It’s been way too long since I dove into an MC romance, and Savage Lust reminded me exactly what I’ve been missing..danger, desire, and dirty-talking bikers who don’t play by the rules. The plot had me hooked, the tension was delicious, and there were just enough twists to keep me turning the pages.

Cam? Whew. He’s sexy, protective, and completely addictive. I loved him, but I wouldn’t have minded a little more darkness in his character, like just enough to really push the edge. Still, the chemistry was 🔥 and the connection was undeniable.

Would I recommend this book to you? Yes

This was a fast read.
It’s easy and the writing flows...

I loved his pov a lot more than hers.

*disclaimer: I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.*

But I would have loved less repetition and more feelings. Sometimes descriptions were lacking. I needed more depth in the story. It didn’t bring out any major feelings about the situations or the characters or their stories.

But it was still enjoyable.
Not as dark as I would think. 🙂

This is a MC Romantic Suspense, and this is the first book in the Desert Kings MC series. I really got pulled into this story, and I loved getting to know the characters in this book. There is a ton of stuff going on in this book, but it is done really well. The ending leaves you hanging on. so this book does not wrap anything up. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

This is the first time I am reading something by this author and I like how she writes. This story was interesting and intense at the beginning, towards the end I lost focus because some things started to repeat themselves. I hope that the second part will be more interesting.

This book kept me hooked from page one! Very quick read, I loved the suspense and the relationship! Onto book 2!

3.75 stars 。⋆୨୧˚

Tropes:
🏍️Motorcycle club
🏍️Found family
🏍️Forced proximity
🏍️Cliffhanger ending
🏍️Open-door romance

“I’d seen guys be so twisted from drugs or alcohol that they couldn’t focus, lost control of their lives, and ended up in jail or worse—losing their patches. But none of that had ever been a problem for me. Hell, the only thing in life I could get addicted to was Riley Bowman.”

It’s safe to say I was hooked within reading the first few chapters! I’ve only read a handful of MMC books, but after this one, I will be adding about twenty more to my TBR—thank you very much!!

“How could I want anyone else when I have you? I can’t stop thinking about you, I can’t picture anything else but you. Riley—it’s you.”

Our FMC, Riley, heads east to Dry Valley, Nevada to attend the funeral of a man she’s never met—her father. With a promise of his entire estate and a chance to understand the dad she never got to know, she gets pushed head-first into a world she has no clue about.

Or, in this case…a mattress works, too.

“I wanted things I’d never let myself think about. Because I’d never met Cam.”

Cam, our MMC, has been part of the Desert Kings Motorcycle Club for as long as he can remember, and honestly, he owes his life to the club. It’s not just a brotherhood to him; it’s everything he knows and trusts.

Grieving the loss of a man he’s come to see as a pseudo-father, Cam feels conflicted about Archer’s death, especially with the nagging feeling that his death isn’t what it seems.

One of the key things a book needs (in my opinion) is flow, and this one absolutely crushed it. It was so engaging that I couldn’t help but obsess over it, flipping through the pages like a mad woman and devouring it all in just two hours.

Savage Lust does end off on a cliffhanger (although, I’m sure the sequel is releasing soon!!), so consider that if that’s not your thing!!!

Thank you for the ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own :)

Riley who lost her mam a few short months ago has now found out her estranged biker father has passed. The lawyer has informed her she needs to attend Archer's funeral and then the reading of the will which would happen within a few weeks of the funeral taking place. Riley is destitute and been living out of her car, since all of their funds had gone on looking after her mam through her illness.

Preacher has replaced Archer as the Prez at the club. Cam is the VP and lives over the garage at Archer's home. He is surprised when he finds Riley at the house. Why would Archer want Riley to attend his funeral when he spent his life keeping her as far away as possible?

Cam knows there is something not right. He will keep Riley close to him, to make sure she is ok, but he soon finds he he likes having her close far too much, which could put her in more danger. He tries his best to keep his distance but there is just something about her that has him so drawn in.

Riley who originally wanted to be done and gone from the club, finds that she is finding a place within the club. But, they are still certain members that she is very wary of.

Both Cam and Riley have fallen hard for each other. They both know that they are things which aren't sitting right within the club. Is the club going to be split apart with deceit and betrayal? Is Cam and Riley both in danger?

A great storyline which has finished on a cliffhanger . Can't wait until the next book is released to get some answers! Or will that throw up more questions????

This fast-paced book hooks you from the start. It is the perfect palette cleanser if you want a quick, fun, and engaging read or trying to get out of a book slump. It ends with you wanting to know more and wanting to read the sequel ASAP.

*Disclaimer: I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.*

I enjoyed the characters, the plot, and the found family within the story. I love Riley and Cam together and like them as individuals. This is my first time reading an MC romance, and I loved it! Definitely started a new obsession for me. I'm glad it was this book that initiated it. Will be on the search for other MC romances!

The reason the rating isn't higher is because it is a short book and ended quite abruptly. It doesn't have a lot of depth story-wise compared to other works, but still enjoyable nevertheless.

🌶 🌶 🌶

It's probably been over a year since I last read a motor cycle club (MC) book, for no other reason than there are just so many tropes to read and dive into, and Savage Lust is a fantastic MC book to dip your toe into if you're interested in reading an MC book for the first time. Candi takes her time to explain certain terms that come up pretty often in MC books that most authors don't explain, which can leave those of us unfamiliar with that world wondering what the fvck they are talking about (but it's not explained in an infantile way, so even if you ARE familiar with MC books you won't feel like it's being dumbed down). Also I find most motor cycle club books to be strangely pro-military and it almost comes across as nationalist propaganda, but thankfully neither of the main characters are military or former military so I didn't find that to be the case with Savage Lust (if in case that's a reason you've not read MC books before)

In Savage Lust we are introduced to Cam, the Vice President of the Desert Kings MC, and Riley, the estranged daughter of the former president. Her father dipped when she was a kid leaving her to be raised by only her mom who told her how terrible her dad was and how dangerous motor cycle clubs are.

Riley is told by a lawyer that her father has died and he's left her a substantial sum of money, all she has to do is show up to the funeral and stay until the reading of the will and the money is hers. This deal is appealing to Riley for a number of reasons, so she does exactly that.

The night before the funeral she meets Cam, who her dad helped raise and sponsored to get into the MC. Riley can't help but feel like an outsider, encroaching on the very real grief that Cam and the other Desert Kings experience while she herself didn't know the man...

Overall the story sucks you in, especially reading it from the perspective of someone who doesn't know much about motor cycle clubs. I grew up with family who live just outside of Sturgis, which hosts the largest motor cycle rally in the world every year, and I actually heard a lot of the same things that Riley's mom told her while I was growing up, so that aspect is absolutely relatable and believable. I also never watched Sons of Anarchy, so it was very easy to read this from a perspective of Riley the outsider and I felt like I understood where she was coming from in a lot of her discomfort.

I gave the 🌶 rating a three because the scenes are there, but it's a little bit of a slow burn, and the positions are a bit basic but understandably so (when you read the book you understand why). No BDSM.

Over all I loved it and I can't wait to read the sequel!

We meet Riley when she is on the way to Dry Valley, to attend the funeral of a man she heard all her life was bad and dangerous, a man she never met, her Father. Riley had received a letter from her fathers lawyer stating that she has to attend the funeral to be entitled to anything from his estate.
Her father, Archer, was president of the desert kings motorcycle club. Riley is about to be thrown into a life that she knows nothing about. A life full of people that she was taught to stay away from, to be scared of.
Riley is staying at her father house in Dry Valley, there she meets Cam, the very sexy and intriguing Vice president of the MC. Cam met Archer when he was just a troubled 16 year old kid. Archer took him under his wing and introduced him to the life, saving Cam, becoming the father he never had.

Cam owes Archer everything, so when his estranged daughter shows up he vows to protect her and let nothing and no one touch her. Cam wasn't expecting to be so drawn to Riley that she is all he thinks about day and night. Riley has eyes on her all the time, the only way to keep her safe is for Cam to claim her, put her under his protection so everyone knows she belongs to him.

Loved this book. I was looking for a MC book to just knock me back and this did that. It was such a good quick read. I will say i didn't know that it ended on a cliffhanger, i would have waited for book two to be released before i started it, as i have no patience and November is far away.
Loved Cam, he is everything, hard and tough on the outside but is soft for Riley.
10/10 would recommend.

3.75☆ This was a pretty good start to the series, meaning It ended on a cliffhanger. Both characters had their pros and cons, but I liked them more than they annoyed me so that was a plus for me. Riley kept talking about wanting family, wanting to know her father and being jealous of the ones that were close to them, but never asked anyone much of anything even when multiple people like his best friend and ex offered and she's in a club full of people that knew him. I would have liked to see her try to understand her father as a person and his decisions to not be in her life especially after seeing the correspondence from her mom. She was just a bit too wrapped up in Cam from first sight, I wanted to see a bit of individuality so she doesn't come off as a doormat. Especially because I understood what he was doing and why, but I wasn't a fan of the push and pull and then pulling her in just to be a jerk even if he thought it was to protect her, also it was clear he along with other members know something weird is up, it felt like they could have been doing more and it seemed obvious who to look into, but it felt like a afterthought. But I'm invested and want to know how this will play out so I'll definitely be planning to read the next addition

She is in town for her father's funeral, having been summoned by an attorney with the notice that the father she never knew left her his house. She is down on her luck, her mother having already passed she feels alone in the world, and having a house, a place to call home is appealing after struggling to just get by. He was in the MC with her father, and has his suspicions about his death. He is worried about her being near, worried the threat could extend to her and he can't have that. This is the first in a new series. It has started out with a bang and these characters are instantly ones that you want to invest in. The chemistry between Riley and Cam is instant and palpable. He helps her know the man who was like a father to him, as they navigate the MC drama at the core of the story. The character development was good with this one, but it does end on an unexpected cliffhanger which I was not prepared for. I read so many books that I do not typically read duets or at least wait until they are both out so I can read them together without losing part of the story. I wish that had been clear from the beginning.

So many MC stories out there, lots of them seem like they just put the billionaire on a bike or something. This story is great, I think it really does a great job of portraying a club and the guys that are part of it. Riley finds out who her Dad is, after he unalives. After years of her Mom telling her bad things, she had no desire to every meet him. Alone and homeless, she gets a letter from a lawyer along with some money, basically telling her there's more where that came from. Curiosity about her Dad and his life, along with the possiblity of not having to live in her car has her deciding to go deal with his final affairs. She meets Savage/Cam and sparks fly. Lots of character building and drama, mystery, violence and smexy time. End in a cliffy, can't wait for the next book!!! I got an advanced review copy of this book for free, but whatever, I would have downloaded in on KU for free anyway, so I promise my review is honest! LOL

Give me book two and give it to me now!

I didn’t want to put this book down when daily life tried to interrupt, pesky thing that it is.

Savage Lust should have been called Savage Ride because this book takes you on a roller coaster. One you don’t want to get off.

The push and pull between Cam and Riley was palpable. The danger and unknowns in the club was page turning. I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2.

You can’t help but to fall in love with Cam. Heck even Merc, Jester and AP. The hatred for Preacher is real. Man gives me the creeps.

Usually I have some issue with the FMC. Nothing major but something always irks me. With Riley.. I want to say it was her innocence but honestly it was written so well.. the part just fit. She had to be.

Fantastic read and can’t wait for more.

I was given this book for my honest opinion.

Savage and Perfect!!!

I've never read a book from this author but I'm glad I chose to because Savage Lust was amazing.

The mysterious daughter of the recently killed president shows up and rocks the VP's world.
Riley was always told her dad was a monster but after a lawyer called her to the reading of his will, she wondered if it was more of a smoke screen her mom had been spewing.

Cam loved Riley's father, his president. Seeing her, he is instantly captivated by her and wonders about the pain hidden in her eyes.
Riley is immediately attracted to him as well and can't get him out of her head.

This book is well-written and intriguing and I need more. It has spicy times, motorcycle club, and some twists and turns.
It ends in a cliffhanger and I'm dying to know the rest of the story!!!!

Every once and a while you read a book that just strikes a cord. This book was well thought out and very well written. From the beginning the story just flowed smoothly and I truly hated to have it end. Cam and Riley were together in my mind from the start. You knew that he had been around but that she was going to be the end of his games right from the start. The characters are rich with depth and color. There will always be problems to deal with but over all the club comes across as a family and that is something Riley has never truly had and feels the need for deeply. Im hoping the next book comes out soon.

Riley is made known of her father’s passing and without any options, she finds herself at the home of the Desert Kings MC. The MC that her father belonged to and was president of. This puts her in the direct path of Cam Savage, her father’s friend. Riley did not expect to get the welcoming she received and she didn’t expect to find Cam.

🖤 MC Romance
🖤 Found Family
🖤 Forced Proximity
🖤 Estranged Dad’s Friend

This was an easy read with drama, action and spice. I loved the relationship between Cam and Riley. I always love a sassy FMC that will keep the MMC on their toes. I also loved the introduction of some of the other characters who I am hoping will get their own stories. The storyline definitely kept you reading, especially with a cliffhanger. I am so looking forward to the conclusion to their story. I have my thoughts on what will happen and want to see if I am right!

Cam is my new favorite bad biker H. His OTTA attitude is hot. Riley is a tougher than she looks badass h. This story intrigued me from page one. Cam and Riley are fire and gunpowder and at times explosive. I don't read cliffhangers often because I don't like the torture of wondering what happens next. The side characters are one I find myself hoping they get their own books so I can read their stories. Now I'm counting down the days until the next book is released so I can find out what happens with all of them. I was lucky to receive an ARC of this book which in no way biased my thoughts or opinions of this book. Now I'm going to search for other books by this author since I think this is the first of hers I've read. Hopefully she has more I can add to my TBR.

Overall I have enjoyed this MC Romance. I have only discovered this genre so I am a bit new to it. The book also gives good spice for anyone interested specifically in that. I liked the reading flow and the tension between the characters, this gave the reading experience an edgy feel.

Cam is mysterious, keeps his cards close to the vest and does not express his feelings much. Riley has been raised to fear the MC life, she knows she should stay away but finds she can’t quite resist Cam. She’s also discovering that her deceased father was not what she expected and starts healing that side of herself. I liked how Riley become stronger and more confident throughout the book.

Cam’s struggles between the rules and restrictions of the MC life (that saved him when he was young) and his protective instincts towards Riley also made for a good read.

I was left looking forward for the second part of this duet.

Savage Lust: Desert Kings MC Book 1 by Candi Scott is a fiery, action-packed ride that blends dark romance with gritty motorcycle club drama. The chemistry between Cam and Reilly is intense, and the tension sizzles right off the pages. The story dives deep into the complex lives of its characters, offering a mix of danger, desire, and betrayal. While the plot may not be for the faint of heart, those who love spicy, high-stakes romance with a side of grit will find it hard to put down. The strong, brooding alpha male and the vulnerable yet fierce heroine make for an engaging pairing that keeps you hooked until the very end. It’s definitely a page-turner for fans of MC romances with a dark edge. 5 ⭐️ 4.4 🌶️

Not Your Average Biker Romance

NOTHING Average about this at all! This book has genuine actual PLOT!

Riley is currently homeless living out of her car, her mother died recently after a long illness and all disposable income went towards medical bills. She’s lived a quiet life, always trying to colour within the lines of her life. Now after being contacted by a lawyer she’s dragging herself to Las Vegas for her father’s funeral. A father she’s never met.

By the time she gets to his home and looks around it’s dark and suddenly a man grapples with her. He is Cam Savage VP of the Desert Kings MC, the club her father apparently founded.

Such a brilliant book! Very well written, it’s dark and gritty. Full of mystery, suspicions, betrayals and a scorching hot sense of attraction between Riley and Savage.

I received an advance review copy to read and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.

This is my first from this author. The story was engrossing. The characters were interesting and not flat. The overall plot had me reading through. So to sum it up I will be back. Savage Lust does end on a cliffhanger. The plot has me twisted enough I must find out what happens. I find the chemistry between Riley and Cam smexy. Overall I find the book one I would recommend to MC romance readers. It isn't as gritty as some MCs but it is good nonetheless.

I really enjoyed this book and it was a great introduction to biker romance. The FMC bothered me in the beginning but she really grew into her own and I enjoyed her at the end. The MMC was protective from the beginning, however he did do somethings to the FMC to protect her that were pretty shady instead of having a conversation with her. She did not hold back any punches when she figured out what he was doing.

If you are looking for a quick intoduction to biker romance, then this would be a great read.

Thank you booksirens for the advance copy for my honest review. I look forward to reading the next one.

I loved this, I was genuinely surprised it was just under 200 pages! The story was so engaging and each character was so well fleshed out. I loved Cam and Riley, their connection was so intense it felt real. Cam was dark, sexy and so caring and Riley was such a badass. I always appreciate a strong MC with a good head on her shoulders. I absolutely devoured this book in one sitting. It was spicy but had an amazing storyline which kept it interesting and engaging. I can't wait to read the next one because I just know I'll gobble that one up in one sitting too !

First book by Candi Scott and I loved it!! Loved watching Riley find her place in this world with a family that cares about her. She never treated the people in the MC like they were horrible monsters even though her mother raised her to think like that her whole life and it showed how strong she is as an FMC to not let her mother's prejudices cloud her own judgement. Cam🔥 is a protective, possessive, strong MMC that you can't help but love! He's a little rough around the edges, but he's had a hard life. The writing style, the plot, and definitely that spice kept me hooked the whole time! Can't wait for all of the suspicions Cam holds to be possibly proven correct and the twists Candi probably has in store! It's going to be so hard to wait for book 2, but I can feel it will be worth it!!

Thank you to Candi Scott and Booksirens for the ARC!

This is my first book by this author and I have to say I’m very pleased. This is a slow burn MC between Cam and Riley. Riley is the daughter of the late president, Archer and Cam is like a son to the late president. Riley has shown up for the funeral and reading of her dad’s will. For Cam this is a really bad time to have her in town due to the questionable death of her father. He will do everything in his power to keep her safe. Looking forward to the conclusion of their story and see other members stories unfold.
