It's really annoying how people complain how long the series has gotten. Just shut up, because you don't have to read the damn books. If you don't like it, don't read it. It's as simple as that.

We’re finally here. This is it. The promised land. The dream realised. The actual end of the PLL series. Please let it be so. I don’t think I can take another series extension.

We start with an epigraph from Orson Welles, a man who in all honesty would have been very unlikely to appreciate the PLL series. Then it’s on to the prologue, wherein Ali gloats over having somehow managed against all sense to frame the PLLs for her murder. We also find out that she has yet another secret helper. Who is it this time? I’m honestly beyond caring.

In the book proper we return to the girls and their lawyer (yep, one between the four of them), Seth Rubens, who has “gotten mafia bosses out of mass-killing charges”, but who isn’t confident of winning the case of 4 rich white girls accused of a murder that makes no sense and which has no visible victim. Although admittedly this is somehow the second time the girls have been tried for murder, even though they’re not legally adults yet, which doesn’t make them look great. We jump straight into stupidity, as Spencer preps for her time in prison by visiting Angela, a prison expert whose book she has read. After willingly parting with $300 just to get through the woman’s front door, Spencer suddenly realises that despite all her research she never actually found out what crime Angela committed. Guess what? It turns out that she’s a specialist in setting up fake identities for people so that they can avoid prison! What a coincidence! However Spencer doesn’t have the $100,000 fee spare at the moment, so she decides instead to ask her lawyer father to circumvent the law and get her and her friends access to the prosecution’s currently gaoled star witness, Nick.

Nick gives them some cryptic clue about his Grandma Betty in Cape May, and the girls rush off in hot pursuit of a resident named Barbara Maxwell, since apparently Betty is short for Barbara now? The trip naturally a dead end and the PLLs learn nothing other than that Mrs DiLaurentis isn’t coming to the murder trial, information which is currently irrelevant but will be important later for very obvious and silly reasons. Much like Emily, who suddenly takes it into her head to walk into the sea and drown herself, and promptly disappears. Don’t worry, I’m sure she’ll be back. Although her parents obviously don’t think so, as they hold her funeral the very next day, despite it being pretty much impossible to organise an event of that sort so quickly, practically and legally. I guess they really want to see the back of her.

The remaining PLLs promptly fall out with each other, since they are a bunch of babies. In other news Wren Kim suddenly turns back up, presumably to fill in the “happy-ever-after” space left vacant in Spencer’s story. Admittedly she hasn’t seen him for years and he is a bastard, but unlike all her other exes and the rest of the Rosewood boys he is alive and not currently affiliated with Ali, so he’ll have to do. Meanwhile Aria sensibly decides to run away to Paris to escape the trial. In an even stupider move, Hanna agrees to marry Mike even though he proposes with a lacrosse bracelet rather than an engagement ring, and more significantly is a pathetic child and has no business getting married. Why couldn’t it have been Hanna who drowned? Instead we have to endure pages of gushing over bridal gowns and wedding-cake tastings, which seems to me to be taking focus away from the ongoing murder trial somewhat. Why would all the involved parents sign paperwork agreeing that two 17-year-olds who have been dating for a matter of months can get married just before one of them potentially goes to gaol for life? Why aren’t Mike’s parents more concerned about finding their missing daughter Aria, rather than picking wedding venues? The whole thing is beyond a joke. Hanna actually agrees to have Hooters waitresses serving the food,, since after all it is Mike’s wedding too. There are no words… She also calls her father specifically to tell him that he’s not invited. Does no-one think that these two people aren’t quite mature enough for marriage?

Yet more stupidity, as Aria inconspicuously takes a taxi from Paris to Amsterdam to continue lying low, before checking into a hostel using her own ID. It then turns out that Noel has magically predicted exactly where Aria will be, just outside the only Amsterdam tourist attraction Shepard has bothered to look up, and times things perfectly to bump into her. In other irrelevant love-life news, Melissa and Darren are engaged and going to have a baby? Why the hell should I care about that? It’s even less relevant that the three PLL romances I have to hear about endlessly, as though there isn’t a murder trail going on. Even the lawyer seems to have better things to do, judging by how ill-informed he is on the case.

Aria and Noel continue to swan around Europe as though they aren’t fugitives, making patronising remarks about how quaint everything is and how the euro looks like Monopoly money, even though it doesn’t. They also immediately “find” someone who makes fake American documents, although we aren’t treated to the details of how they actually accomplish this. Spencer decides to steal a handful of her mother’s jewellery and hand it over to Angela in exchange for a promise that she will help Spencer escape the law. This proves that Spencer has learnt absolutely nothing from the whole surrogate-mother-con-artist debacle. On the other hand, Mrs Hastings is a spectacular bitch even for this series, so it’s hard to feel too sorry for her loss.

Aria and Noel are swiftly captured by Interpol due to the fact that they are moronic. We also find out that Hanna is being married by a rabbi. Are the Marins Jewish? When did this happen? I guess they must be, since Hanna has all of a sudden taken to using the expression ”nebbishy”. The wedding itself is tasteless, sentimental crap which takes up far too many pages. Spencer’s decision not to run away forever because of all the wonderful things she has going for her at home is equally nauseating. I’m beginning to think Shepard is actually playing a joke on her readers with this supposed “dramatic series finale”. Now that Emily has opted out of the book the three storylines are Hanna getting married, Spencer’s sister’s pregnancy and Aria’s sightseeing, plus everyone’s childish love-lives. It would be literally impossible to pick a more banal series of subjects. The whole bizarre multiple-murder-fake-identity-secret-twin-trial-of-the-century thing seems to be barely on the radar of either the characters or the author. What’s going on?

Eventually Shepard gets bored of soppy crap and we rush to the courthouse for the verdict, which the jury have suddenly reached on a Sunday morning. Since the jury are as ridiculous as everyone else in Shepard-World, plus there’s a quarter of the book left to go, the girls are all found guilty despite a total lack of evidence and sentenced to life imprisonment. I wonder why the lawyer didn’t suggest pinning the whole thing on “dead Emily” and getting the other 3 off on minor charges of aiding and abetting. She seems to be the only one they have anything on, even if it is only a video of her looking a bit shouty and smashing stuff. Anyway, he didn’t and the PLLs are off to prison, where everyone is fat, ugly and masculine with body odour problems, plentiful scars and tattoos (and even an eye-patch!) and a love of hip-hop. You know, because they’re poor.

Naturally amongst the stereotypical prison inmates there are several Ali Cats, because apparently they absolutely fucking everywhere. They immediately begin to torment the girls via such heinous acts as making faces at them and laughing at Hanna’s nipples. Fortunately the girls are rescued from this hell less than 24 hours after they enter it by an exciting and totally unforeseen new development. Guess who’s back from the dead? Yep, Emily. We then go back in time to the night of Emily’s disappearance, although this seems to be an alternate reality where Emily is thinking completely different things from when we were inside her head during the same time-period in Chapter 5. It turns out that Emily went back to Grandma Betty’s house and found a clue: an envelope with an address, directed to someone called…Day. Yep, Ali’s secret extra surname her family dropped for some reason. How best to follow up this clue? Obviously by faking her own suicide in a dangerous manner, like a completely selfish bitch. Although admittedly it is impressive that she was thorough enough to provide fake chapter narration in an attempt to fool the reader as well as her friends.

It turns out that Ali has cunningly been hiding with her mother this whole time, as has been hinted throughout the book. She is also plain and fat now, as evil manifests itself in such a form. Let that be a lesson to you, teen girl readers. After some unnecessary fat-shaming which I’m sure will in no way effect Ms Shepard’s teen readership, Ali is arrested with disappointing ease (presumably fat neutralises her evil powers?) and dragged back to Rosewood, where she, Emily and the convict PLLs are reunited without warning in a courtroom, for some reason. A judge then immediately frees everyone except Ali and tells them all to go home, because who cares how the law works? So that’s that. Everyone heads off home, to have the love-lives and careers they’ve always wanted, whilst Ali rots on a psych ward. Everything is perfect, and even Emily gets a random new girlfriend thrown in at the last minute, since Shepard forgot to write one into the actual story. Everyone lives happily ever after. But wait…a horror still lurks. Somewhere Ali lays strapped to a hospital bed, plotting and scheming and biding her time, knowing that one day Sara Shepard will need a new pool house, or a luxury holiday in Jamaica, or some other little treat she can’t quite find the ready cash to pay for. And when that day comes she will unstrap Alison DiLaurentis, and let her loose on the world once more. And when the horror returns, who will save us?

Most Unfounded and Childish Statement Regarding the Penal System

“Prisons didn’t serve pastries.”

Most Inane Text
Hailey to accused-murderer Hanna:
“I just saw another report about you on CNN. Your hair looked REALLY GOOD.”

Priorities! Although Hanna does proudly consider herself “probably the best-looking almostcriminal in the history of girls who were about to go to prison.” , so I’m sure she’s delighted with the compliment.

Worst Display of Deductive Abilities
Spencer on Wren:
“He still smelled the same, too—like cigarettes. She wondered if he still smoked.”

All signs point to yes, Spence.

Most Helpful Advice Regarding the Trial
Mike to Hanna:
“Personally, I’d like you to show off your legs.”

He’s certainly consistent, I’ll give him that.

Most Vilely Self-Pitying Thought
Aria outside the Anne Frank museum
“No one would take her in and hide her, Anne Frank–style.”

Right, that’s a reasonable comparison Aria, you insensitive bitch.

Most Unreasonable Complaint When “On the Run”
Noel:
“I thought this was sort of going to be . . . fun.”

Does anyone think Noel isn’t taking the situation seriously enough?

Most Exciting Brand-Mention
Finally, after 16 books, the PLL series mentions a brand I have both heard of and actually used: Weetabix! How thrilling! I feel like I’m one of the gang now :-)

Most Hypocritical Remark
“Aria looked at her brother. “Your wedding’s today. I forgot.”
Mike sniffed. “Yeah, I guess you’ve been too wrapped up in yourself.””

Too right Mike. Aria needs to get over the whole murder-trial thing. Okay, it was big news. And okay she’s still waiting for the verdict. But seriously, you’ve decided to get married now. Surely that should pull the limelight right back to you?

Most Accurate First-Impression Character Assessment
Random Inmate of the PLLS:
“They look like bitches”

Uncannily accurate.

Well, that was a massive anti-climax. Alison is arrested, everyone gets everything they’ve ever wanted, the end. No questions whatsoever are answered. Mrs DiLaurentis is punished for being Ali’s mother. Both fathers, Mr DiLaurentis & Mr Hastings, get off scot-free. Everyone forgets that Jason ever existed. Alison, the most Machiavellian human being to have ever existed, is caught because she leaves her address lying around and hides with her own mother using her own surname. Still, at least it’s all finally over. Freedom!

Vicious by Sara Shepard
book 16 in the Pretty Little Liars series

Actual Rating: 3.5/5 stars

Oh my gosh, it's over... how bittersweet!
I can't believe this series is over, after 16 books (I don't think i'll ever read a series bigger than this in my whole life) haha
It's honestly so strange to be sitting here writing my last ever review for the PLL books, unless more are added of course. We all know what Sara Shepard is capable of, hahaha, but really, I don't think I'd be opposed to more books...

Let's get into the juicy stuff
This book was a lot less creepy and suspenseful than all the others, which kind of sucked, but oh well.
I feel like this book wasn't quite as good as it could've been, yet I still really enjoyed it nonetheless. It was definitely not the bets book in the series, but just because it's the last, I guess I automatically had semi-high kind of expectations, especially since the final book in Sara Shepard other series, The Lying Game was so amazing.

The with Hanna and Mike was the sweetest thing ever, and I'm so happy that it was incorporated into the novel, as these two have been my favourite couple throughout the entire series.

I loved how all the character arcs were wrapped up in the end, they all left me with a big smile on my face, and I'm so happy for the girls, and that they can now move on with their lives.

Overall thoughts on the Pretty Little Liars:
Spencer: For me, Spence was one of my favourites out of the liars, if not my favourite throughout the first half of the series, up until I started to lose interest in her story, as it became increasingly less interesting throughout the course of the series. I'm so happy that she and Melissa turned out to be so close towards the end. The only thing I'm a little iffy on is who Spencer ended up with, I don't actually remember if I liked him or not, seeing as he's been absent from the series since the early books.

Emily: Oh Em, she was my least favourite character for so long, up until the second half-ish of the series, when she just went through some incredible character development. She became so interesting to read about, and I actually found myself wanting more and more of her chapters. I'm so sad that she , because I loved them together so much. However, I love how her story wrapped up, she become so strong, and totally shut down Ali, whenever she tried to torture her about Em's 'love' for her.

Aria: She is a character that I found not to have much change throughout the series, and I enjoyed her stories throughout pretty much the whole series. I love her with , and I'm so happy they ended up together, even through all their difficulties.

Hanna: Ahh, she is my favourite character. I love Hanna so much, and will miss her the most. I'm SO happy that her story ended the way it did, I couldn't have asked for anything better. Hanna constantly had the most interesting storylines, and kept me on my toes all the time. I just love Hanna's character!

Alison: is just so different from the TV-show, and I really have no sympathy for her whatsoever in the books...gosh, she's horrible. I'm glad she got what was coming for her, and I would love to see another book about Ali sometime in the future, as I loved the Ali's Pretty Little Lies prequel novel.

This was a satisfying ending to this amazing series, however I do feel like it was left a little open ended, even though it was sworn to be the last book in the series.

I'll miss these characters, and these books so much, and this series will forever hold a special, very large the size of 16 books place in my heart... Thank you, Ms Shepard, for another incredible series, I can't thank you enough...

Alright Sara Shepard, let's end this! You can do it! There will seriously be a riot if you don't. I think the Internet might explode...

EDIT: what happened to the candy coloured covers??? Because this is the last one, it's going to be randomly emo now??? At least the title hasn't changed to something weird... Has everyone seen the new book Shepard is writing? It's called Perfectionists and I'm thinking the new characters are descendants of the PLL crew. You know, just to screw with us more. The cover looks almost the same too, except no Barbie dolls. I think it is agreed that this time around I'll b reading her series via the library. Because if it carries out to 16 books I might scream...

After Reading: Well, you'll love this book if you're a fan. Seriously, it has the highest stakes, some stupid moves done by the girls, and some happy endings you'll absolutely love. I love how some of the characters from the first few books came back and you get to see their new lives. I was a little annoyed that the last few pages insinuated the possibility of more books because Ali is an evil mastermind. It was an entertaining and easy read, so if you haven't gotten to this book yet, maybe reconsider? But no one will hate you if you didn't finish this series.

I get why a lot of people hate this series. 14 books out and not much has happened. But they're still pretty great, I mean... They're easy to read, and the story is still entertaining.

CAN WE TALK AOUT THAT COVER, THOUGH? A BLACK COVER OH MY GOD YESSS SARA.

5 PLL stars

I am legitimately sad to see this series end. And for reals this time, this book is the end of the road for these ladies. At least that's what the author says. But who knows?

Seriously, I could read about 50 more books in this series. I'm having a hard time letting go :(

This book had me all over the place. There was murder, intrigue, a court hearing, jail, suicide, fleeing the law and aiding and abetting. I know that's nothing new to the PLL series, but usually not all in the same book. I was in PLL Heaven and so freaking juiced to see how it would all end.

It may have taken 16 books, but the pretty little liars finally get some closure and some happiness. There are new people introduced, and some old characters coming back to make things interesting.

Aria has always been my favorite PLL, and she made some major moves this final book. As for Hanna, Spencer and Emily... they all had tons of growth this book. They made choices that they would never have thought about in previous books.

Bah! This has been a hell of a journey, but I'm so glad I made it through to the other side! And just because I love the books and show so much, I'll leave some of my fave PLL gifs :)

It's so crazy to think I've been reading this series since I was fourteen! :O (I'm now 23).

I thought over all this book was a good ending to the series although I did have issues with a few things.

If this ends with all of them dead or in jail I'm going to be a very unhappy reader

Update: finished this book and read it in one night because I needed to know what happened and now I'm laying in bed at 1 o'clock in the morning crying because the series is over. I'm glad to finally have closure on the never ending questions these books led me to have but some questions are still unanswered. I'm relieved that the girls were able to finally conquer Ali and they out of Rosewood. So long Pretty Little Liars it's been a great journey and I'll miss you.

Good riddance to these characters and this series! I AM DONE!! It amazes me that the author managed to write a 16 book series with characters who aren't really likable.

And OMG that ending. I just...I think I'm just speechless at the ridiculousness at this point.

Ok quick recap - at the end of the last book the girls were arrested for killing Ali based on police finding blood, Ali's tooth, and a journal written by Ali at the pool house the girls were stalking. Now the girls are about to go to trial but not before some more hi-jinks ensue!

Emily: drowns herself in the ocean early on in the book and I wasn't sad to see her go. But is she really dead? Pretty sure you can figure out the answer to that

Spencer: hooks up with Wren again, because he was such a stand up guy in the beginning. And also meets with a sketchy ex-inmate in an attempt to learn how to adjust to prison life. Ultimately, this ends with her stealing her mothers jewelry in an effort to buy a new identity from said ex-inmate.

Aria: flees the country and heads to Europe. Puppy dog Noel follows and finds her in Amsterdam and then they are soon caught by Interpol and dragged back to Rosewood for the trial.

Hanna: decides to marry Mike and manages to plan a wedding and go to trial all in the same week.

Ali: just being crazy Ali like normal.

This book could have been combined with the previous book and would have been fine. There was a lot of filler information that I just didn't care about. And the epilogue of sorts was over the top. The author said in her acknowledgements that this is the end, but we've heard that before so who knows. Maybe Ali will escape and terrorize the girls all the way to old age.

But for me, I am done. Should have just stuck to the TV show.

Yes! She wrote another one! And don't judge me for being happy that the series is never-ending. At least I can admit it. C'mon people. No matter how many times you post how much it "sucks" that Sara Shepard wrote another book, we all know that if you see the latest book in a library or bookstore, you will pick it up, sit down, and read it

It's finally over. Holy fuck.

*Possible spoiler ahead*

This series is precious to me. Maybe as precious as Harry Potter is to me, well maybe not THAT precious, but pretty damn close.

I can't believe I have been reading these since they first came out when I was 14. I still remember reading the first book within two hours on a family road trip to Boston. I remember finishing the last page and thinking 'holy fuck! This better be a series! It can't end like this!' I bought every book the day it was released. And then when it became a tv show I thought I was going to have a heart attack. Five seasons later I still love the show, I love the show more than the books. I like the route the show is going and plus I like that the four liars are actually good friends in the show. In the books it took seven books for them to start trusting eachother....

I've come to the conclusion that I am not going to rate this book. It's not a horrible ending, but it's also not the brilliant ending I was hoping for. In reality this would get a 2 star from.me, but my feelings are so over the place that I'd probably end up giving this 5 stars just because I'm happy that these girls are finally having a happy ending....for now. The last chapter indicates another possible book in the future when they are older. Am i happy about that? No. I rather just imagine them living their lives happy and Ali rotting in jail. Do I think that will happen? Again no. It's Sara Shepard. She dragged this series even though it was supposed to stop at 8 books. Hopefully she will finally let this amazing series go and start on newer projects.

I just can't believe its all done. No more Aria, Hanna, Spencer, or Emily. I've come to love these girls even though they are liars and idiots.

Finally its done. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tackling this series in January. Hope the big ending doesn't suck. ><
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This series is dear to me, but seriously....16 books is way too long. Books 1-11 were awesome, but now they are basically the same: the girls lie and fuck up some more. We hardly get any answers anymore. How much longer will this fucking last? -____-

I CAN'T BELIEVE AFTER 16 BOOKS PRETTY LITTLE LIARS IS OVER

It feels so, so wrong to say goodbye to this series. PLL is an institution! But no matter, the story had well and truly ran it's course and it's nice to see it end positively.

I felt like this book was kind of disappointing because I was expecting so much more from it. The whole book centres around the trial of Hanna, Aria, Spencer and Emily - who've been charged with the murder of Alison DiLaurentis

The extra events that occur made it more interesting, but even so I wish this book had followed more closely the style of the last few - the girls trying to find Ali and bring her to justice was much more interesting.

Even though I would have preferred that, what I got was still interesting, good, and GREAT in parts. It just felt like it felt flat - like the whole story was just anti-climatic. It was like this book was the anti-climax from the last few even though it should have been THE climax. I loved the storylines - Aria's and Hanna's especially. I liked the ending and how things wrapped up for the girls, liked that Ali's still at it no matter what. I felt maybe things ended up a little too nicely, but then this is pretty little liars and that happens.

As a politics and law student, I also couldn't help noticing the small things that just would never happen in a real court I don't know why these unrealistic things annoyed me when this series is so incredibly unrealistic in general, but they did.

But overrall, I did enjoy this. I'm happy to let this series go, it truly was cming to it's end. While many people give this series a hella lot of shit, I enjoy it. They're quick, entertaining reads and I freakin care about Hanna and Mike (BLESS THEIR MARRIAGE BTW) and I just, I'm happy. I am at peace with this.

So long, pretty little liars. It was a good time. (jks there will be like 12 seasons of the show im convinced I can still get my drama if I need it)

SPOILERS AHEAD

I really hope this is the last book in the series, because I am so done here.

I am done with all the stupid mistakes that these four girls make. Honestly, they're got to learn from their lessons, as I don't see how people could make so many mistakes.

I am done with the stupid and unrealistic plot and I am done with all these first world problems.

In the last book is the PLL series, Hanna, Emily, Aria, and Spencer find themselves in jail, because everyone believes that they killed Ali, as there was planted evidence. Speaking of, I'm pretty sure that in real life, such evidence wouldn't incriminate people.

But instead of staying and NOT incriminating themselves further, the girls decide to go and try to find Ali.

And then there's a fake suicide and a secret flight to Europe and a wedding and a blast from the past. Just because.

Now about this suicide thing-Emily just decides to go swimming in stormy waters, and the rest of the girls go out to see her, it looks like she's drowning. And supposedly, Emily died.

But it actually turns out that she swam all the way to Florida (?) and found Ali's mom and Ali living in a house there and then everything ended up being peachy (?)

I'm just so glad things are over and I leave you with this quote as an example of the stupidity of the girls:

Whenever Hanna thought about her almost-shot at stardom, she burst into tears and couldn't breathe. It hurt more than when she had realized Mona, her old bestie, was the first A and had tried to kill her. It hurt more than when she had found out Ali had a twin and had never told her. It even hurt more than when her father, who she'd once loved more than anyone in the world, had dropped Hanna cold, saying she "wasn't good enough for his political campaign."

After 5 years of reading this series, I've finally finished! I know all the things. I know who A is and if after 16 (technically 18) books the ending was worth it.

After being so thoroughly impressed with how Shepard wrapped up her Lying Game series, Vicious was kind of a let down as far as finales go. The climax and big reveal didn't happen until the very end of this book, which made the rest of the book feel too dragged out and slow. I suppose an argument in defense of the pacing could be that this was the last leg of a reveal that had been happening since book 14, but in that case I could have done without book 15 honestly. For an 18 book long series (over 5,500 pages!), I wanted more falling action, more resolution.

One thing that really did not work in this finale was the attempted plot twist having to do with the big reveal at the end. It was SO OBVIOUS. This could have worked far better if the reader had been kept in the loop and seen that part of the mystery unfold and get really invested in it instead of it all coming to light in the end.

So overall, I was disappointed in the pacing of the finale and underwhelmed by the "twist".

BUT. But. I do feel fulfilled with the ending. (Except for the epilogue that attempted to keep the threat alive which I could have done without because really that just made it feel like this story wasn't over and would go on forever.) But as satisfying as it felt to see how things wrapped up finally, the series was just too long. The first 2 arcs in the series were definitely the best. I think if this conclusion had happened like 2-4 books after the events in book 8 it would have felt more exciting.

Love it!!!

I was mad, I was confused, I was frustrated and at the very end ...I was in happy tears.

I couldn't have ask more of this book for an ending story, It got me through so many emotions because at this point, I was so in love with every single character and especially with the 4 pretty little liars, that what ever happened to them was hurtful.

I hated Ali with all my heart and I couldn't get to imagine a fair punishment for this crazy girl, and at the same time I wanted to understand her (crazy I know!) to justify every single thing she's done... Couldn't do it of course, but sure she needed I harder ending than "that"...

...although I did needed a happy ending for the girls, I would've expected a tragic "something", I don't even know what exactly, but they been through so much already that I got used to the idea of something going off every single time. I kind of needed that at the end.

"She made us stronger."

so, this is it. It really is. the Author even says so:
"So this really and truly is the end of the PLL saga"

I'm sticking with it. It's the end. And I'm okay with this end. I'm glad that this is where we leave everyone. We didn't get into their adult years, although they are definitely not the little cute freshman kids we got to know. The girls have grown, matured, been through hell and lived through it to tell. And I'm okay with who and what they've become. Their choice along the way were always tough to swallow but, at the end, they've been true to who Sara Shepard always wrote them to be.
This is a great conclusion. It just better stay as the final book..I honestly. I can't take another one.

Oh my! I have such a love/hate relationship with these books! I truly enjoyed the characters and the storyline. In the middle it kind of drug on and I was like oh no another A, but I felt like it wrapped up nicely and everyone’s story ended happily. I have heard the tv show was completely different so I probably won’t watch. Sara’s books are so much fun!

I feel like that was seriously the perfect ending to this series - but at the same time I feel like it would be easy to Sara to write more. That would be nice. Overall I liked this series. Some character's annoyed me at time. I loved to see the ending on what happened with our lovely liars. Great ending. Everything was wrapped up pretty perfectly.

Aaaaaand scene. I cannot believe the PLL book series is finally finished. I think I bought the first eleven or twelve books a couple years ago. It's sort of like sending a kid off to college... bittersweet. I truly love these characters and I'm so happy the show is so successful so I don't lose these girls all at once.

I think this was a great end to the series, even though, true to Sara fashion, she ended it ambiguously. Ali is one crazy bitch and I could see her getting out of prison. I hope if Sara does end up writing another PLL book, which I am hoping she doesn't because that's just cruel, playing with my emotions like that, she only writes one and it ends with Ali being killed. So then it will be TRULY over.

Anyway, I loved the ending and how the girls ended up successful and with their true loves, which I want to happen on the show: Aria and Noel, Spencer and Wren, Hanna and Mike, and Emily with her new beach hottie.

The story was just as dramatic and crazy as you'd expect.

Thank you, Sara, for sixteen wonderful books.
