⚫️The 4Midables: How They Came to Be by Don Young is a thrilling, action-packed read that crosses over into science fiction and mystery and young adult drama. It's the best of high-tech technology and friendship mixed in with great suspense and will have readers on the edge of their seats from beginning to end.

⚫️The novel centers around Madison and Ethan Giller, two teenagers who lead a rather unusual existence due to their genius father, Dr. Gordon Giller, who has created the world's first Human Teleporting machine. Although the notion of teleportation is intriguing in itself, it's how the Giller family employs it to reunite their far-flung family that lends the book its emotional core. The idea of employing the HT for family bonding enabling their mother to "port" back to them instantly gives a personal, poignant touch to the high-tech, jet-setting exploits.

⚫️As the series continues, the stakes are raised even further when Madison and Ethan become friends with Maya and Rafael, two genius young minds from across the globe. Maya's supercomputer skills combined with Rafael's knowledge as a police cadet create the makings of an unlikely, but highly effective team of teen crime solvers. When Maya discovers how to hack the HT to go back in time, the group is plunged into a world of clandestine, high-stakes crime-fighting. The teen team's attempts to correct past wrongs and apprehend criminals from the past provide a new spin on classic detective tales, introducing new intrigue to the genre.

⚫️My favorite part about this book was the way each of the characters was built up to be more than their part in the story. Madison, Ethan, Maya, and Rafael all contribute something priceless to the mix, and working together, they are truly inspiring. Their bonding and development throughout the novel are believable, particularly as they battle not only external demons but also their own inner demons keeping their double life a secret from their parents.

⚫️The science fiction element of teleportation and time travel is done in a manner that seems believable within the universe of the story, and the technology research makes it seem deep. The tension is built up slowly, and by the end of the book, you're left impatiently wanting to know what's next in the teens' exciting adventures. The pacing is perfect, and Don Young keeps the plot moving at a good clip, with enough twists and turns to keep you interested, but never so many that it becomes overwhelming.

⚫️In the end, The 4Midables: How They Came to Be is an entertaining, creative read that will be enjoyed by science fiction, young adult, and mystery fans alike, as well as anyone who likes a good story with a little heart. The combination of advanced technology, global intrigue, and teen characters that readers can root for makes this book not only a page-turner but also a tribute to the strength of friendship and determination.

⚫️Strongly recommended for readers who want a new, thrilling spin on time travel and crime-solving! I look forward to seeing where this adventure leads the 4Midables next.

Happy reading ❤️✨

A wonderful book with very cool technology, I loved the family dynamic between the main characters. The head of the family is a scientist and he's only gone and invented a teleportation device. The family enjoy trips around the world. Three different countries and they are still back home in time for dinner. But then the kids, Ethan and Madison start travelling on their own without their parents knowledge. But these kids aren't reckless. They are smart and caring. So when they witness a crime, they can go back in time and find the culprits! A very interesting read suitable for all ages . I absolutely loved this book! This is original and creative and very engaging. The characters of each of the teens are very well developed and as a reader I feel like I know them and/or would like to know them. How original to go back in time anywhere in the world to stop the criminals from getting away with crime! It's exciting, and creative as well. Bravo for bringing this wonderful story to our teens . A whole good read and very relaxing read

Don Young’s “The 4midables” is a young sci fiction and crime mystery novel which revolves around Madison, Ethan, Rafael and Maya. The characters of all these four kids have been portrayed so perfectly that its brings a warmth while reading their story.

The storyline revolves mainly around how Madison and Ethan’s fathers current creation of a teleporting machine helps the four teens in solving crimes across the globe, however the teleportation comes with its own shortcoming wherein the time reverses by 24 hours. Each character has been developed so well in the narration that they stand unique with their identity. Their teamwork, problem solving skills, their adventures, the mysteries are to read for.

Overall the storyline has enough action, adventure, mystery and a good read for young adults and also for adults. The storyline reflects on friendship, teamwork, and the ability to use one’s abilities at the best. A must read for teenagers.

“The 4Midables” by Don Young is a sci-fi crime thriller adventurous book basically designed for teens. Ethan, Madison, Rafael and Maya are four friends who work on catching criminals from all around the globe.

Ethan and Madison being siblings, their father invents a teleporting machine which takes them to any part of the world. However they have only 24 hours to spend at that place. While travelling to different places, the siblings find the amount of crime happening at different places and are hell bent on catching the criminals. How they team up with Rafael and Maya to nab the criminals is to read for.

The author has done a fantastic job by focussing on all the four teens. The strategy used, the technology, the thrill, the adventure, the action everything has been so well put in the narration that it makes the readers exciting to read. The friendship between the teens, the family moments and picnics, the bind is something which is also to go gaga for. Overall a very nice interesting read especially if you are a sci fi and crime thriller lover.

I read Book #1 in the series thinking it would be a fun teen mystery, and it totally was, but what surprised me was how much heart and depth it had. The four main characters felt real, each with their own talents and struggles. Book #2 takes that to another level, because now their investigations are international, and they have to adapt and grow as a team. The pressures they face, while remaining anonymous, I could only imagine, and it made me root for them even more. Definitely recommend both books to anyone who enjoys character-driven adventures with some real substance behind the suspense. I can see this as a TV series or a film, which is the author’s intention.

Book 2 felt like watching a great teen mystery series unfold on screen. The stakes are definitely higher this time, as the crimes they investigate take the teens as far away as the U.K., Australia, and Thailand. There’s lots of suspense, danger, humor, and a great team dynamic. I loved how each character brings something different to the team. A very cool twist was the media coverage, with the reporter calling them the “Robin Hood Heroes”. How Madison, Ethan, Rafael, and Maya deal with being in the spotlight felt surprisingly real. I recommend this book to any reader looking for a smart, high-energy adventure with heart.

I loved Book 1, and was excited to see where Book 2 would take these teens. The author didn’t disappoint, as they’re tracking a conman in Australia … stolen MI5 files in the U.K. … human traffickers in Mexico! It was very exciting how the media interest increased when the teens anonymously solved another crime. I loved how Madison, Ethan, Maya, and Rafael have grown and how they coped with the pressure of keeping their heroics a secret. Highly recommended for anyone who likes mystery, teamwork, and action. Such an exciting read!

I really enjoyed how Book 2 in the series took the clever mystery-solving with time-travel to Thailand, U.K., Australia, etc. to solve major crimes, and we learn interesting things about the countries, too. Madison, Ethan, Maya, and Rafael all mature before our eyes as they face the challenges of tracking criminals and remaining anonymous. I especially liked how the “Robin Hood Heroes” added a cool moral layer. These books are great for fans of adventure, mystery stories.

I love the clever title and the cover is amazing! It had only a handful of Reviews but one of them said the Author had written for Inspector Gadget and she gave it 5 Stars. So it was worth a look.

I’ve never been a huge fan of weird teleporting, but the synopsis made it clear this was different because the 4 teens can only go back in time up to 24 hours. They do it so they can see crimes when they actually happened, which is cool! And then they call the police anonymously with the evidence they need. And I liked that the teens are very altruistic, requesting that all rewards go to Charity.

I appreciate learning facts about places and customs I was unaware of. On top of being a story that you get "hooked on" immediately (I couldn't put it down!) it's also educational. What a great addition to a fantastic read.

It’s a really fun story that made me laugh out loud, but also had some very emotional moments. I’m excited to read Book #2 - says it’s out early in 2025.

What I loved most about book 2 is that it didn’t just give us more mystery - it gave us more heart. The four teens aren’t just solving crimes, they’re dealing with real emotions, challenges, and decisions that feel very relatable. I really like how the crime-solving led to big media attention, and how people around the world are inspired by anonymous heroism - such a smart addition.

This encouraging novel read very much like a movie plot/outline. I could almost see the action in my head as I read along and it feels very much like a superhero type story without the superhuman abilities (for the most part). The story follows 4 young people with various skill sets and an astounding new piece of technology as they come together and work to altruistically help those in distress. It is wonderful to see young people working for a greater good. After a slower start, the plot picks up and moves right along as the story unfolds. A thing I did not like was keeping secrets from parents. It was not problematical and it understandable in this type of story. The characters are likeable, have depth, and are by and large realistic. Would recommend to those who enjoy the superhero genre, those who like stories comprised of young people, and those who enjoy books that read like movies.

The 4midables is such a thrilling read—it felt like watching an action-packed movie! Four teenagers from different parts of the world can teleport. Instead of just having fun with it they use their powers to catch criminals. I think thats way too much wishful thinking with today’s generation but this is fiction and we can imagine anything we like thats the beauty of it.

This book is a perfect mix of sci-fi, mystery, and adventure. What I loved most was how they still juggle normal life , school, sports, and family while secretly solving crimes. Imagine if this were real if people actually had superpowers. The idea is both fascinating and fun. It even took me back to my childhood, when I’d dream about being a secret detective. This book is a great escape and I enjoyed it a lot.

Mix of Science and Mystery

I really enjoyed this book because I liked the action, teamwork, and clever problem solving. The idea of going back in time but only 24 hours to catch criminals is so unique. I especially liked Maya, the IT genius from Mumbai, because she reminded me of my own love for technology and problem-solving. Also, the 4 characters has their unique identity still they are similar in many aspects and come together to work for a cause that is catching criminals. The mix of science, adventure, and mystery kept me hooked, and I can’t wait for the next book. If you’ve ever wished for superpowers or dreamed of solving mysteries, you’ll love this book like I did.

Set against a backdrop of real-world challenges, the story follows Madison, Ethan, Rafael, and Maya as they navigate their lives while using their unique skills and a special device to help those in need.

The narrative is infused with a sense of optimism and the belief that anyone can make a difference, regardless of their background or experience. Story involves Madison(17), a star soccer player, and her science-whiz brother Ethan(16) . Their father is a scientist in NASA and invents Human Teleportation (HT) device. He shares this secret invention with his family. Pleasantly surprised Madison and Ethan quickly learn the teleportation process. On a family teleportation trip, they meet Rafael(18)- a Spanish police academy trainee, and Maya(17)- a brilliant Indian hacker who unfortunately lost her leg in a car accident in childhood.

Once Rafael tells Madison and Ethan about an incident wherein an 8 year girl got kidnapped from her home. This kidnapping deeply affects Madison, compelling her to share the secret of the HT device with Rafael and Maya. Together, they form a secret crime-solving team, planning to use the device to travel back 24 hours and find the culprits.
Madison's athleticism and leadership, Ethan's scientific insights, Rafael's police training, and Maya's hacking powers combine to make them a formidable force. They use the HT device to jump 24 hours back into the past at the place where crime has happened. They actively watch crime news and decide which case they can work on. Case selection also depends on their time zones as they from different countries so different time zone; plus they have to keep this as a secret from everyone including their families. They work on 4 crimes cases ranging from kidnappings to robberies. Each case tests their teamwork.

Page turner story of teleportation adventure. The characters are so wonderful & passionately driven to solve crimes.
