Rule number one in love, learn from the past, and don’t make the same mistakes twice.
My worst mistake was a secret affair, I have vowed to never, ever to repeat. The fact it was with my brother’s best friend, should have been a red flag to begin with. When it ended in earth-shattering heartbreak, the only way to move forward, was to loathe every single inch of Brandon Johns.
Fast forward three years, and I have rebuilt my life, mending the betrayal that broke me, and my family. Now governor of a basketball team, success filled a void in my heart… until the board demanded that we bring my biggest mistake back!
When hell freezes over.
Brandon Johns, the Australian baller who could easily pass as a model with his golden locks and tanned, muscular body. Not to mention those blue eyes that could melt the hardest of hearts—they want him back?
They conveniently forgot he walked out on the team, demanding to be traded.
He broke our player’s trust.
He broke my trust.
Even if he is the answer to our championship dream, I vowed never to see him again. I promised myself I would never let the man who almost broke me, back into my life.
My only saving grace in this mess is that I have the upper hand—because this time, I’ll be his boss.
THE WRONG TIME is an enemies to lovers, billionaire romance with the added spice of sports. It can be read as a stand alone, or start the series with Book #1. To get the most out of this story I recommend reading The Wrong Move first.
THE HENDRICKS BILLIONAIRES SERIES 1. The Wrong Proposal 2. The Wrong Move 3. The Wrong Promise 4. The Wrong Time
Best selling Australian author, Leesa Bow writes alphas with a fierce determination to win, and the women who will push for them to fight harder. Her love of sports romance came from inspiration from her sporty family. Leesa loves nothing more than to curl up with a good book, and a glass of South Australian wine.
This is a beautifully well written and captivating brother’s best friend second chance romance. This is the fourth book in the series and Charlotte and Brandon’s story. They broke up and now fate has given them chance after three years. Would they take chance at happiness or not. The story was heartbreaking and emotional. It was captivating and kept me hooked. Loved these two characters and was totally invested in their story. Highly recommend this beautiful story.
In this fourth book in the Hendricks Billionaire series, we finally get to know what happened between Charlotte Hendricks and Brandon Johns. Clear your schedule, grab a cuppa, a bikkie (aka cookie) or two and get ready to be hooked into this story.
Charlotte and Brandon Johns have always had such incredible chemistry; they were fools to deny their relationship—well in my opinion. However, I wasn’t under the pressure they felt so I’ll forgive them—I’m generous like that! 😄 Brandon is one super spunky male lead character but the main word in that sentence is—male! I know, I know, I am being sexist but his actions speak louder than my words. Mind you, I am also declaring that I really like Brandon’s character—a lot.
I like Charlotte’s character a lot too and felt for her growing up in a male-dominated household where she truly had to push, shove and launch herself head-first into her career. She is one strong, determined young woman. I also like how much she has embraced her sisters-in-law and could rely on them for advice.
This is a fantastic second chance at love story where it’s not all plain sailing. The reality of life shone through in Charlotte and Brandon’s relationship and I enjoyed that aspect enormously. The emotional connection between the characters is intense but it is also fierce between reader and characters, too.
I also found Charlotte’s friends wonderfully entertaining, what a hoot they were and always reliable when Charlotte needed to be perked up. Likewise, I also enjoyed the family atmosphere in this book so much, to me this fourth book brought out more from the Hendricks family, especially Carson Senior.
I look forward to seeing where this author will go next as her quality writing is always a must read.
I’ve been so looking forward to reading Charlotte’s story as she’s such a strong character in the books through this series and it didn’t disappoint.
Heartbreak is really a pain that’s unbearable to think about especially when it’s from someone who’s you thought was the one. Situations change and circumstances bring in new dynamics into a relationship. So the thought of starting again can be tough. They say time heals and mends a broken heart but sometimes that one that got away, comes back into your life and brings with it a stronger love and connection that sparks everything inside you to come alive again, and this time it’s playing for keeps.
Charlotte and Brandon what a ride that was your story was truly worth every page turn ❤️
This is a second chance romance, book 4 in the hendricks series. Its a basketball romance centred in the nba with brendan being the mmc nba player and charlotte the fmc being the govener of the la sharks team. She's the boss. She still loves him but equally hates him at the same time so you get the enemies to lovers vibes. I was cheering for them even when they had distance between them. They were meant to be, and the happy ending was great.. also loved the aussie vibes all the way through. I also really enjoyed reading about a different sport too.
This was an arc copy and leaving an honest review.
5 Star Review The Wrong Time (The Hendricks Billionaires #4) by Leesa Bow
This is Charlotte Hendricks and Brandon Johns’ story and it was well written and entertaining; a good addition to the Hendricks Billionaires series from Leesa Bow.
The chemistry between our couple is off to charts even though they tried to deny their attraction.
I fell hard for Brandon, totally swoon worthy and Charlotte is my idea of a leading lady, feisty and determined.
The Wrong Time is a second chance at love story that will draw you on and keep you hooked from the first chapter.
Although this is the first book in the series I have read, I was able to follow the couples from the previous stories. I thoroughly enjoyed Brandon (BJ) and Lottie's story. Will Lottie give Brandon a second chance 3 years after he completely shattered her heart?? BJ will do absolutely anything to win back the love of his life, including winning the championship!! Brilliant storyline with wonderful characters and loved the HEA. I received an ARC copy of this book from the author, and I'm willingly leaving an honest review.
As an ARC reader of this author I was so happy to get this book and below is my honest review of Book no 4 in the Hendricks family series and it was excellent! So good once I started I didn’t want to put it down except work got in the way!!!
We’re back in LA and the Hendricks family. This time the story is Charlotte’s.
Governor of a basketball team is a huge responsibility. One that she’s taken in her stride and dived into, particularly more after Brandon Johns (BJ) left the team, and her shattering her heart.
Three years later her world is thrown into chaos when her club has to bring BJ back to LA to help them win the championship. What was she going to do??? She is still affected by this man, she loves him and hates him in equal measure.
If you love an enemies to lovers, brothers best friend, second chance romance then this is the book for you.
This book took me on a rollercoaster ride. The emotions you felt in this book were way more intense than in previous books. You were like Charlotte… you hated BJ so much you wanted to slap him but then the Aussie charm comes out and you are reminded of how much they loved each other and fit together.
It was interesting watching how Byron reacted to BJs return, especially after the accident. They definitely had the ultimate friendship/enemy thing happening and no one was gonna hurt his sister again, especially not BJ.
Of course the rest of the family is there surrounding Lottie and I absolutely loved how the SILs were with each other, showing a real sisterhood. We also got to meet some of Lottie’s friends who were so cute and funny and the thing Lottie needed while trying to figure out what’s what.
Leesa never fails to take you on a heartfelt journey with her characters and this was no different. You felt every emotion…. Hate, love, heartache, longing, sadness and more.
Bravo and what an ending to a great series 💙🏀
**** I was given this book as an ARC for a fair and honest review****
Simply fabulous!! This is book four in what has been a delightful series about The Hendricks family. This is Charlotte and Brandon’s story and I knew it was going to be an emotional journey. A enemies to lovers story about forgiveness and reconciliation. Charlotte and Brandon were perfect for each other despite their differences and I devoured this well written book. Leesa is a wonderful storyteller and I look forward to reading more from her. I received this book as an arc for my honest opinion but you need to do yourself a favour and read this series as it’s just that good!
Second Chance Best Friends Boyfriend Sports Romance
So glad Charlotte and Brandon get their HEA. After being traded back to the LA Sharks, Brandon vows to win Charlottes friendship back and his ex best friend Byron. Nothing comes easy. My favourite line from Brandon: You can stop drinking your pain away, because we’re no longer stuck in reverse. I enjoyed the book and loved the series
The wrong Time is the final book in the series and is Charlotte and BJ’s story: 3 years have passed since BJ quit the team and moved away. Charlotte has tried to move on but her heart still remains with BJ. When he comes back to town, he does all he can to make it up to Charlotte and to prove that it’s the right time to get back together. charlotte’s protective brothers are not convinced however. Charlotte must figure out to follow her head or her heart. The Wrong Time is a terrific book which is the perfect end to a perfect series. I love all the characters and the story does not disappoint. There’s so many laugh out loud moments along with some very steamy ones. Highly recommended
I have been hanging out for charlotte and Brandon story since the beginning of this series and I was not disappointed.
I was quite shocked to see my name in the story as Charlotte assistant as I have a friendship with the author so was a nice surprise to see my name there.
I absolutely love the world that Ms Bow has created. These characters, their lives, this family, it’s all so well constructed. Spoiler, I have been secretly waiting for Lottie and BJ to get their act together since book 1 of the series. Because I have been waiting so long, I have noticed every little bread crumb left along the way pointing them along their path. I loved how their story developed, I loved that they took their time. I love their love.
This story is truly captivating and I cannot recommend it enough.
Great to read a story that starts in the USA and eventually gets to end in Australia. The antics of the Hendricks family are very heartwarming, and a fitting ending for all.
From first meeting his character in WINNING THE PLAYER, Author Leesa Bow introduced her readers to Brandon (BJ) Johns, an up-and-coming Basketballer, and now in THE WRONG MOVE, she has given this very gorgeous man a beautifully written book. Through the Hendricks Billionaires series we came to know him as Byron Hendrick's teammate and best friend, and honourary Hendrick's family member. He has to be one of the most sensitive male characters I've read about who was so in touch with his feelings that he readily cried when it came to his Lottie, yet was still very much extremely male. I just loved him.
I also really enjoyed seeing Charlotte move from college student in book one through to Chief Governor of the LA Sharks, her brother's team. I’d seen her fight to be recognised as a force in her own right, fall in love with Brandon through the series and have a secret affair before it all turned bad at the end of Byron’s book. Throughout THE WRONG MOVE she was still so in touch with her feelings for him that she could read his expressions and behaviour noting that while he'd traded to and played with his new team for three years, he was still very much apart from them.
Forced to accept the practicality of his trade back onto the team, she did not make things easy for him, and Ms Bow’s own cheeky humour showed through in Lottie's actions in making things difficult for him. I had to laugh. Lottie also had some amazing friends in her corner and these ladies made for some humorous happenings that lightened the sometimes-heart-breaking tone from both POV of our main characters. Yep, Ms Bow made me both laugh and cry.
Second-chances are an absolute favourite trope but the best friend’s/teammate's-sister not so much, so Byron's character was already on the back foot from two chapters in. I was determined to dislike him because his behaviour towards Brandon was abysmal and key in driving him away, determined to be traded. But, I re-read THE WRONG MOVE and rediscovered my love for his character and the Hendricks Family in general. Thus, I continued my read of THE WRONG TIME and better appreciated the heartbreak between Brandon and Lottie, along with their recovery of love and friendship.
Having said this, THE WRONG TIME can be read as a stand-a-lone, but I recommend you do yourself a solid and just read the preceding three books first, if only to discover the talent of Ms Bow's writing, or even better, become completely immersed into the world of the Hendricks Family Billionaires. The series is amazing and you'll love the characters as they grow and develop through each book.
As I mentioned earlier, BJ was first featured in Ms Bow's early sports series book, WINNING THE PLAYER. They're set in Australia, BJ's home country and I'm sure you'll love them as much as I did.
Back to THE WRONG MOVE though, it’s a beautifully written sports romance that has top notch characters, was full of the feels and was impossible to put down. 5-I-completely-loved-it-Stars!🏀❤ღ
It's a sports romance but swims on heavy emotions riding in like waves. A found family torn apart due to an accident that rips away the facade of brotherhood as LA Sharks's Byron and BJ aka Brandon John's are faced with truth. You don't rewrite family rules. BJ is in love with Byron's sister Charlotte and it's not A-OK. So to make amends BJ asks for a trade with Chicago Stingers leaving the cushioned existence and give Lottie a way out of her dilemma of choosing loyalties. A pure sacrifice, if you please, but in battle of tugs between men, nobody asks for Lottie opinion and that bugs me. Why are women not consulted in their own fate? Anyhoo, BJ misses her and wants back in.......
“Bez muke nema nauke.” Without pain, there is no science.
Or love...or lust...or life. The whole story is about second chance at fated love, that belongs to one and only one. It's endearing, hopeful story. Gives us a chance to be happy by the end
The Hendricks brothers once again have been a pleasure to read. The characters are flawed in the best ways. I have also enjoyed reading about the other characters and how they have developed.
Charlotte "Lottie" and Brandon have been through troubled times due to Brandon doing (what he thought was the right thing to do) Time passes and the position of power changes. Charlotte is determined not to let Brandon back in or to know much he hurt her.
It was a well written storyline about love and life.
Oh Leesa out of the Henricks Billionaires this one certainly is my favourite. Charlotte and Brandon's enemies to lovers second chance romance blew my little world up. This is one of my favourite genres. I love the whole hate love thing that pulls the characters in. Always makes for an intense passionate read. Completely hooked from the start and was super excited to see how this one would play out. Leesa never disappoints. The chemistry between these two will blow up the pages of your kindle. Leesa you are a legend and a gorgeous friend. Can't wait for more.
The Wrong Time is Charlotte Hendricks and Brandon John’s second chance love story and it’s book four in the Hendricks Billionaires Series. From the moment I picked this book up I was captivated and there was no putting down until the final word was read. I fell hard and fast for Brandon and Charlotte is the woman I want in my corner, the chemistry is scorching hot, the characters easy to become invested in and the story is well written and entertaining.
The Wrong Time is book 4 and the final story in the Hendricks Billionaires Series by Leesa Bow.
It is an incredible second chance, brothers ex-best friend, sports, billionaire story filled with so much l hurt, love and healing. This review has taken me a few weeks to write cause honestly I was left with the worst book hangover from the emotions. There were times where I could only read small parts, a chapter here and there cause it was just too much. I feel like the characters from this series and especially this book are like friends or family so when they were hurting, so was I.
We first learn of BJ (MMC) and Lottie’s (FMC) relationship in book 2 of this series and while you can read each book as a standalone and there is a bit of a recap at the beginning, I recommend reading them in order to fully understand and feel everything these two go through and how they have ended up where they are now.
BJ and Lottie fell hard, love hard, which means the heartbreak was hard too. Their path back into each other’s lives at the right time, and the healing with each other and the Hendricks family is a beautiful journey.
This is my favourite book in the series, only just taking out Byron and Giana who are a close second. This series has a very special place in my heart. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
