*As of launch day, a corrected, properly edited version has been uploaded, so if your version has errors, please manually update your copy. This should only affect the pre-orders, but if you download a copy and it's not correct, please update your copy. I'm so sorry for the trouble, I'm still learning a lot as I figure this out. Thank you for being here, and I hope you love Chasing Jamie!
A single mom, blue collar, "why choose" romance with a curvy single mom and two tattooed biker brothers. Elements of found family, overcoming their pasts, learning to love and be loved, and two big, growly, cinnamon-roll centered alphas who'll do anything for their family and girl. Guaranteed HEA.
Jamie - I've spent the last ten years trying to figure out who I am and trying to escape the strict, uptight, sheltered religion I was raised with. For my 30th birthday, my ex-husband made me promise I'd start going on dates and putting myself out there, but it hasn't been going well. No matter what I do, I just can't seem to figure out how to find the right man until I literally crash my cart into a big, strong, tattooed Viking god of a man at the grocery store. I didn't know men like him existed, that they only existed in romance books but he's oh so very real. Well, I thought he was real anyway, but when he disappears, I meet another man at the same grocery store. Apparently, I'll give my number to all the hot, bearded, biker men this grocery store churns out and just hope I eventually find one that's willing to stick around. When I find out my new man is the brother of the one that disappeared...well, I can't come between brothers. Now they're saying I don't need to choose between them but that just seems too good to be true...isn't it?
Ryder - At 40, you'd think I had it all figured out, but when a beautiful, curvy, innocent little blonde bombshell smashes into me at the grocery store I start to question everything I thought I knew about myself. Jamie makes me want things I've never wanted before but I'm not cut out to be a husband, let alone a father. She needs someone a lot better than a rough, gruff, growly mechanic and biker. Even though I know she deserves better, I can't stay away. I need my angel.
Rafe - I've always wanted a love and marriage like my parents have, but I could never found the right girl. When I stop to get beer and chips at the grocery store and come across a cute, curvy, blonde sweetheart sobbing in the parking lot over a flat tire and car that won't start I know I've met the girl of my dreams. She's determined that no one's willing to stick around for a single mom but I'm going to prove her wrong. My brother passed on the girl of his dreams, and I want to show him that love is worth it when you find the right girl. I want him to find someone like my Jamie, but when he shows up at my girl's house with a bouquet of flowers and an apology for ghosting his girl...things are suddenly a lot more complicated.
Chasing Jamie is a blue collar, biker-lite, MFM romance with a sweet, curvy, innocent-but-not heroine, and two brothers that are determined to show her what it means to be worshipped by the right man...or men.
Content parental verbal, mental, physical mistreatment to Jamie; intimacy trauma and issues from her marriage, single mom, religious trauma/programming; abandonment by parent (to one of the MMC's when he was an infant); swearing, steamy on-page scenes, no MM. Most of the potential content issues are memories and not on-page, but if you'd like more information or have questions, please reach out to me on social media and I'll be happy to answer any questions. This book is intended for mature, 18+ readers, as it has lots of steam, swearing, and adult situations.
Oof this book should have been called "Run as Far Away From Jamie as you Can".
This FMC was so whiney and pathetic. If this wasn't a why choose I may have been able to tolerate her better, but I can't fathom how 2 perfect men would want her. Listen...I know she's been through hell. She was basically raised in a cult, abused, and forced to be married to a man who turned out to be gay... but at some point I wanted her to just stop being so "boo hoo". She just needed a backbone. Honestly, I didnt even read the last chapter or the epilogue.
Also the book was incredibly wordy. Could have been about 150 pages shorter. There were so many pages on wasted words (long descriptions of outfits, items, food, locations, etc). There was also a lot of repetition. I ended up skimming a lot after 50%.
I will say, this book had a lot of potential and because of that I would probably read other books from this author. I did love both of the MMCs and how differently they cared for her.... I just couldn't stand her.
This was, by far, one of my top 3 favorite books I’ve read this year. Everything about it just drew me in. It was just the right amount of descriptive, without being overly wordy, and the characters were well thought out with how they were brought to life. I connected to Jamie, Ryder & Rafe on so many levels, and it didn’t take long for me to be pulled into their lives & their hope of a HEA. I don’t know how Ellie made this story so light & fluffy, yet also touched on so many serious subjects & deep emotions. I found myself in tears quite a few times because I was just that invested in the characters & their feelings. The whole story just had a very realistic & authentic way of being told, and the emotions & situations felt believable. It made Jamie & her guys feel like real friends, or family, that were simply telling the story of how they got together, but you just so happen to be close enough that you get ALLLL the spicy details (and there were some absolutely delicious ones to read about 😉👀🫣🥵🔥😈). With so many amazing (and not so amazing 😤) secondary characters to round out the story (including an adorable 10 year old & a lovably crazy dog), everything just flowed & moved at a pace that felt true to the characters & their situations. I already had Restoring Raven on my TBR list, but it is now getting bumped to the top lol. Ellie will now be a one-click author for me, and I feel confident in that assessment, even if this is the 1st & only story of hers that I’ve read so far. I’m so excited for what Ellie has in store for us next, especially Rainey’s story ❤️ ✨There are some things that could be hard for some people to read, so be sure to check the TWs before reading ✨
This was one of the more authentic feeling books I've read in forever. Jamie's reactions and emotions are exactly what you'd expect from someone dealing with the same trauma in real life. She felt real and genuine which allowed me to feel sympathy for her rather than classifying her as a doormat. I really liked the guys although I had some trouble with Ryder's abandonment issues being so in the forefront of his life still at age 40. But I got over it and really liked the relationship between him and Rafe and him and their parents.
Hurt/Comfort is not a trope I read often, I prefer a lot less realism in my fiction. This is very feelings/emotions centered. Quite a bit of personal growth happens. I was bored at times but that's a me thing. Give me the option of watching Chick lit or an adventure movie and I'll choose car chases or dinosaurs or superheroes every time. I kept waiting for something to happen that would interject some excitement into the story but that's simply not the plot. I felt the book was longer than it needed to be but again, it's a my preference thing. There are spelling errors so I probably didn't get an updated copy but it wasn't anything that took me out of the story.
I definitely recommend this for people that enjoy deeper more emotional reads.
I couldn't put it down! I love a good book where the FMC comes from a traumatic background and has to heal to be able to accept being loved for the first time in her life.
Rafe and Ryder are both swoon-worthy cinnamon rolls. I love that the whole situation with her ex is completely different from anything I've ever read before, showing that not every relationship is black and white.
Honorably mentions go to Gus, because who doesn't adore a lovable crazy dog??
I love Ryder and Rafe so much, and the way they love Jamie is a dream come true. I love big, bearded, tattooed, alpha types that secretly are sweet and tender…
I really liked the way Jamie grew, the way she and her ex grew but remained friends, and mom and dad Montgomery are parent/in law goals. Everyone should have Rayford and Lisa in their lives. And I just loved Gus the dog. Such a lovable goofball.
-Multi pov -MFM - the H’s are brothers -Single mom with a super traumatic background, she is draining to read about tbh -h30, H’s 40 -Zero owd/omd -Inexperienced fmc, experienced mmcs- they’ve shared before when they were in their 20s 🙄 -No third act breakup -HEA married (legally to 1 mmc but they’re all committed) and pregnant

There are a couple of spelling type errors, but the book is well worth lo9king past those.
Please read trigger warnings as it does cover some topics that might trigger or upset some readers - however it is a positive book with great characters, I loved it.
I really enjoyed this, it was sweet with a few darker elements. Enough tension to keep the interest but ultimately 2 of the sweetest golden retriever men you could find.
