After moving to the United States with my aunt when I was 5 years old, my love for horror and writing itself began to blossom with the Goosebumps series. Well, I've come a long way, with 3 novels under my belt and a bad case of can't-finish-a-manuscript syndrome. When I'm not writing or pulling my hair out, I'm enjoying art, video games, and my aquariums are my pride and joy.
I LOVED this anthology! Especially the Spirit of The Desert! I found that story so balanced and the ending so satisfying. The concept of fighting over resources is something that is at the forefront of our culture currently. I found it to be really relevant and well written.
Another fantastic and richly developed collection of short stories. The detail and dynamic atmosphere the authors cultivated in their stories helped bring these worlds to life. The range of each story and the level of the survival these characters had to endure not only showcased a wide range of writing talent from these authors but explored various facets of ways in which the world could end and survive, from biological contaminants to environmental impacts and more.
The stories, particularly The Spirit of the Desert by Aaron Webber Jr., perfectly highlighted the human condition. Questions of morality, right and wrong, even in the face of dire survival odds, played so well across these stories. The grand mythology developed in such a short amount of time for each story and the engaging character development will easily keep readers enthralled with each story.
