Tinaye's world is turned upside down when her parents are unexpectedly deported, leaving her alone and struggling to keep her family's life in balance. In a desperate attempt to secure her future, Tinaye is pressured into an arranged marriage with Hunter, a man she's never met and one who seems to embody everything she's been taught to resist. Initially, Tinaye is fiercely opposed to the union, seeing it as a betrayal of her autonomy and dreams.
As the marriage unfolds, Tinaye and Hunter navigate the challenges of their unconventional partnership. Their initial animosity gradually gives way to a deeper understanding and respect for each other. Through shared experiences and intimate moments, they discover an unexpected connection and genuine affection. In the process, they must confront their own preconceptions about love, duty, and personal happiness.
Their "Love Against the Odds" is a compelling tale of personal growth and the transformative power of love, highlighting how even the most unlikely of circumstances can lead to profound and unexpected joy.
I'm always brutally honest in my review's and It was just something about this book that was just ok to me. It wasn't bad. It just really was hard to keep my interest. Nothing really stood out to me except Jackie being a damn stalker after Hunter told her a few times that he didn't want her but she refused to get the picture. Tinaye being mad at her parents for making a decision without giving her a choice was to be expected. Yes she acted bratty during some part's but she's young and never been on her own and away from her parents. Hunter was against the arranged marriage when his father first brought it to him. He was living his life and making money. He didn't want to be tied down until he finally met Tinaye and got to know her.
This was the cutest little love story. Although unfortunate circumstances I love how they took the time to get to know each other and fell in love 🥹
This was a really good read but so many grammatical errors. I have noticed that about a few of the books in this series and I blame the editor or lack there of.
Sometimes you have to really listen to your parents when they try to encourage certain things maybe they are seeing things by oh can't, not saying they will always be right but majority of the time things will work out, that's what happened between Tinaye and Hunter they both fought against it but once getting to know each other better a bond was form. Didn't care for the way Tinaye was handling the situation but Hunter understood and handled her accordingly. Her parents should have communicated with her better. Now when a man tells you from the very beginning you need to keep yourself in check because in the end you will only end up hurting yourself. That darn Gotti moving like a ghost from the look of things only one.house so far wasn't easy to get into he needs to send his people to update all his houses security systems😂😂
I truly enjoyed this book!!!…I love the fact that although this was supposed to be an arranged marriage, Hunter and Tinaye set the course of how it would happen!!!…The fact that they took their time to get to know each other to make sure they would be comfortable with each other!!!… I was disappointed with the way Tinaye’s mother left her, despite her knowing the family she left her with!!!…This poor girl just wanted to be surrounded by family!!!…I get the point of what they were trying to do, but I’m sure she felt abandoned to say the least!!!…
This standalone is lit. My girl TiTi know she likes to run from stuff then tryna stay and figure it out. She is so spoiled and wanted things her way instead of what her parents knew what was best for her. They didn’t want her back in Jamaica they wanted her to stay I. The US cause he was better for her. U did good on yet another book and I’m looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi while eating popcorn and while waiting on the next book to read
This was an okay read for me. It was well written but it was missing action in my opinion. I’m not understanding how Tinaye went to college and graduated if they were in the country illegal without the proper documentation to even register her for school. Tinaye was very immature at times which is expected because she’s a young adult barely 21 years old. Hunter was a boss but his biggest flex was riding out to unalive Jackie??
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Tinaye started off in pure misery due to the news that her parents dropped on her. She felt like a prisoner and was angry with everyone. Hunter was not trying to have an arranged marriage to anyone. He ignored his family for days behind the situation. Once he saw Tinaye and spoke with her, he wanted her. Their chemistry was undeniable. It wasn't easy, but they made it work. They fell fast and hard! Nobody would harm his Bunny. This was a great read!
Sometimes in life doesn't go the way you planned it...
But for Tinye and Hunter both didn't know they actually both needed each...
I'm glad they got the chance to know each other Her parents went about this situation wrong should've told her what was going on but also understand they want a better life for her...
Mia and Kaleb both found each other as well hopefully we get the chance to look at there love story....
Started out good, when I say started out I mean the very first part when the dad got busted. The rest of the story was super predictable and lot didn’t make sense. And what did this story have to do with the Gotti organization? This whole thing was about their predictable relationship.
Tinaye was being so childish. Hunter was so patient with her. I understand her parents left her in a crazy situation but she shouldn't be acting the way she was towards Hunter. Her parents should have told her about the situation sooner than they had
This author never disappoints this was such a cute story. The love that they found was so magical and beautiful. I love that the authors are not making the stories all about killing and they have love in the mix beautiful series.
How you got mad when this man tells you he doesn’t want you like that and you go and put his tires on flat and you riding another man make it make sense he told you to stay away karma is real
This one had me guessing a lot. I wasn't sure if they were gonna make it or she was gonna run away again. Then, their friends ended up creeping. The PI was a total mess. I almost didn't feel sorry for her.
I really couldn’t get into the book because there were so many errors. In the beginning of the book his sister’s name started with an H. Midway it changed to Raven. Poor editing.
This was a good book, but Tinaye really got on my nerves lol. In the end, it all worked out, and that's what matters. Also, when will someone's security be up to Gotti’s standards 😂😂
This book brought me to tears. I love how Hunter and Tinaye's love grew for each other. Their future is going to be marvelous and filled with so much love. Great Read!
I truly love reading this book of the series I hope and enjoyed this fantastic love story . I kook forward to reading more storylines from this author.
