I personally found this book to be a fantastic read. I may be biased because I found it so relatable & comforting considering my Mormon background, but it still has great information in it for anyone interested in Mormonism & Christianity and the major differences between the two. Brandi Bronson does a great job sharing her testimony of how she left Mormonism and found Christ. She recounts the questions she had and the research she did to find answers. She reflects on the thoughts, beliefs, and judgements she had as an LDS member and contrasts them with what she now thinks & believes as a Christian. Her story was unique to me as it was so evidence & researched based rather than feelings based. In the book she explains why that was - as she relied so much on her feelings as a Mormon & when leaving that faith had a distrust with her emotions & feelings. As she mentions in the book, feelings don’t make good leaders but they can be good followers once evidence has convinced us of the truth!
I would recommend this book to a Mormon who is questioning their faith or who has already left Mormonism and is searching for the truth. It would also be a great read for any “ex-mo’s” who are now Christians and want to learn more solid reasons the LDS church is false as well as read another “ex-mo” to Christian testimony. Christians who are interested in learning more about Mormonism or how to better share the gospel with Mormons should definitely check this book out too. And lastly, I’d recommend this book to any Mormon who would be willing & open to reading it. It contains the uncomfortable truth that the LDS church is not the true church it claims to be with undeniable evidence & facts.
To end, here’s a great quote that Brandi quoted towards the end of her book.
“If you’ve already decided to believe the Gospels, take a second step and decide to defend them. Become a case-making Christian; work in your profession, live your life faithfully, devote yourself to the truth, and steadily prepare yourself to make a defense for what you believe…” - J. Warner Wallace
