I loved reading this book presented by a dear friend - I loved it from the start, I felt I was transported best in time and I could clearly see hear and smell those islands and South Africa and somehow related to being a subject in a British colony.
The quest to learn more about one’s forefathers is a real one and easy to relate to - I always wonder what mine did and how they survived all those invasions etc. and how they would’ve contributed to Indian independence and to their surroundings in general and made sure the line stayed alive to have us.
All in all a goodread!
