Lexxie’s not a deviant. She just has a deviant’s imagination and a desire to entertain readers with her words. Add the two together and you get darkly erotic romances with a twist of horror, sci-fi and the paranormal.

When she’s not submerged in the worlds she creates, Lexxie’s life revolves around her family, a husband who thinks she’s insane, a indoor cat who likes to stalk shadows, two yabbies hell-bent on destroying their tank and her daughters, who both utterly captured her heart and changed her life forever.

Having no idea how old she really is, Lexxie decided to go with 27 and has been that age for quite some time now. It's the best of both worlds - old enough to act mature, young enough to be silly.

And silly she can be. Just ask her husband who frequently has to endure her bursting into song whenever the mood strikes her, feeling him up in public (one of her favorite pastimes), or rolling around in the sand with their dog - a large mutt of dubious origins who causes almost as much havoc around the neighborhood as Lexxie herself. Or squealing her way down the slide at the local park with her daughter!

Lexxie lives by two simple rules - measure your success not by how much money you have, but by how often you laugh, and always try everything at least once. As a consequence, she's laughed her way through many an eyebrow raising adventure.

3 'Boxhead' stars

A laugh out loud contemporary read.

Meet Jaxon Campbell, womanizing, self absorbed, playboy, keyboardist and cocky as hell Rock Star. Jax's band, Synergy, is looking for a lead singer and the only person that can help him out of this bind is non other than, ex-girlfriend, Natalie Thorton.

Natalie Thorton, Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, former lover and frequent participant in Jax's exhibitionist sexual tendencies. A strong willed woman of sophistication that knows when to say enough is enough. She ended their relationship at twenty-one, after a tabloid exposed not only Nat and Jax's exhibitionism on a hotel roof-top, but also his sexual prowess and exploits with various other women.

Twenty-one years later, both into their forties, there first encounter leads them into a tailspin of expected and deviant sexual pleasures.

Nat, remembers it all. All her past sexual exploits. The only man to ever give her multiple orgasms. The only man she has ever loved and broken her heart. Not to mention he stole her AC/DC Back in Black Album. Unforgivable!

Wanting to get back at Jax and getting a chance to re-live and fulfill her own baser needs. Nat devises a plan of sexual challenges, to gain control over a situation she actually has no control over.Nat tries hard to pretend this is just a simple pleasurable no strings attached game, but her games, turns the tables on them both.

Not only does Nat and Jax experience the best sex of both their lives, they have fun whilst socializing among the masses.

I truly enjoyed all the pent up frustration and the verbal sparring and the childish banter that Jax, kept spewing in an attempt to persuade Natalie to go along with whatever hair brained idea he has at the spur of the moment.

"Say yes, Boxhead," he said
"If I don't?"
"I'll turn up at your office tomorrow with an aerosol can of whipped cream while wearing nothing but a pair of leather pants. I can do that. I'm a rock star."

*******
" Back off, buddy, before I break your face."
"You thought I was going to lick your boobs, didn't you?"
"Take me home, Campbell."
"Gladly. There's fucking against my window to be done. Naked fucking."

*******
It was refreshing watching two strong and self assured individuals both indulge in each other and still trying to figure out where they both fit into each others lives.

"Three things are about to happen, Boxhead,"
"You're going to strip yourself naked of your clothes, I'm going to retrieve a condom from the bathroom and then I'm going to fuck your brains out."

This was an enjoyable read, it however, lacked the appeal of the Rock Star lifestyle and I barely got an emotional connection with the characters.

My thoughts on Jax's entry into the story was

Right so let me put my cards well and truly on the table….if anyone touched my signed copy of AC/DC’s Back in Black, I’d want revenge too!!! That album is sacred! But I digress lol.

Jax is looking for a new singer for his band and goes to Nat, as that’s her line of work. Nat a.k.a Boxhead comes up with a devious plan of letting Jax have sex with her in return for names of singers!! Sounds a bit of a dubious plot and plan but you have to understand, Jax hurt Nat badly. Firstly he dumped her all of a sudden years ago and to top of that humiliation, he stole her prized vinyl!! But also, it’s not just sex Nat wants from him, it’s the mind-blowing, toe-curling, multiple orgasm, probably one in a lifetime sex that she used to have with Jax. You know the kind of sex that ruins sex with anyone else!

If anyone gave me that kind of deal, I’d dive straight in and that’s exactly what Jax does. There was a bit of role reversal that made me piss myself laughing, when a naked Jax was under a desk!! Usually in most books, it’s the girl under the desk lol.

Nat is treating the whole arrangement as a business deal but Jax has other ideas. His heart belongs to Nat and he aims to take her heart and make her his again.

The inner dialogue was quite funny at times, particularly with Nat. As much as her brain is saying one thing, her heart is saying another and her body is totally betraying her!

I can’t fault this book. The characters are brilliantly written, the sex is off the scale hot, the editing is top notch. The author has managed to turn a very simple rekindled love story into a book that I couldn’t put down. She writes a very fluid story that moves you along with the story at a nice pace.

I would definitely recommend this book.

Lexxie Couper sure knows how to write sexy rockstar stories that has you reaching for something to cool down with and this is the case with her latest Heart of Fame book, Getting Played. Jaxon Campbell is the notorious player who has sex on the brain and is literally caught naked in the first scene. I was laughing so hard and it was the perfect way for the author to begin Jax's story. Apparently this remained the theme as he ended up diving naked under his ex-girlfriend, Natalie Thornton's desk and what followed was smokin' hot. Jax and Nat walked away from each other 21 years ago but the sexual chemistry and passion has never diminished. Jax approaches her asking for help to find a replacement singer for Nick Blackthorne and this time, Nat decides to be in control when it comes to Jax and sex. She is determined not to fall in love with him this time around. I really liked how strong and feisty she was and that she was able to get under Jax's skin. I loved seeing the transformation Jax went through as he realizes his feelings for Nat and that his relationship with her is more than just the amazing sex they share. OMG! The sex scenes in this book was hot, hot, hot. The author did a great job writing these scenes and I loved the humor she instilled this story. Another winner in the Heart of Fame series.

Love this series and this was an amazing addition to it. The reason for only four versus five? 26 times the heroine had to bitch about her stolen AC/DC record...honestly! I was ready to board a plane and give her mine just to shut her up about it. Other than that...brilliant!

Jason finally gets his love

One more excellent and fun read in the Heart of Fame series. Jax is on a mission back home in Sidney, looking for a replacement for Nick Blackthorne, former lead singer of the world famous band of the same name. The rest of the band has struck out, now it's his turn to search. To accomplish that he tracks down his former lover, Natalie, who sent him on his way many years ago. When he walks into Nat's office at Sidney's music conservatory, the years fall away and he wants her all over again. When he tells her he needs her help, she makes a deal with him she will come to regret, names of possible replacements for orgasms. She promises herself she will not fall in love with him again, because rock star Jax is a love 'em and leave 'em kind of guy and she refuses to be hurt again. Obviously neither was expecting to feel so much for the other and Jax, even though he's found his next band mate, prolongs the search just to spend more time with Nat. I loved this story and am sure you will too!

Lexxie Couper writes wonderfully believable romance stories, even her second chance stories are realistic enough for my inner bitch. If there is one thing I hate is too quick forgiveness, because honestly it's not real.

I never get tired of reading and re-reading this series and Getting Played is absolutely one of my favorites in this series. This couple has a volatile past and while Jax loves to play the happy go lucky, all swagger and sex rock star the minute he walks through Natalie's office door a very different Jax appears and it become evident that she meant more to him than even he realized at the time. These two sizzled off the page, like could not keep their hands off one another and I was so there for it, but underneath it all were two people who quite possibly weren't ready for one another the first time around but being back together realized there wasn't anyone else they wanted to share the rest of their life with. I flat out adored this book!

Nick Blackthorne has some serious competition for my heart now that Jaxon Campbell is on the scene. I only thought Nick and for that matter Samuel were outrageous but that was before I met Jax…the man who thinks nothing of exhibitionist sex, the man who steals an autographed copy of AC/DC’s Back in Black just because he can, the man who tattoos a woman with a box on her head so the woman who means so much to him is always with him, the man who thinks nothing of giving a woman oral pleasure while she’s talking to someone very important in her office, the man who after years of living a rocker’s lifestyle comes to realize that the only woman who gets him is the one he let push him out of her life 21 years ago. Jax needs Natalie Thorton’s help to find a new lead singer for Synergy and she agrees to help him as long as he agrees to give her “mind-blowing” sex. Two people with a very volatile past brought together by circumstance embark on a sexual fling guaranteed to melt your panties all while trying to not engage their hearts; they think they are so smart but in reality they are Getting Played by what fate has in store for them.
I swear Jaxon has always made me crack up; he just doesn’t take life seriously, he’s always after the next conquest, always trying to outdo some outrageous act he’s done before, and apparently always trying to pretend he doesn’t need anyone special in his life. It’s hard to see the real Jax because he doesn’t let anyone in except Natalie. Oh man, from the minute he walked into her office I began to see a totally different side of him even though he tried to mask it with his come-ons, his swagger and his charm there was something “real” beneath all of that and apparently only Natalie can bring it out in him. It is so evident even though he doesn’t want it to be that Natalie means more to him than he wants to admit.
I love heroines like Natalie; smart, sophisticated, a prestigious career and underneath she craves raunchy, out of control, no holds barred sex. Yes, there’s just something about someone who has to very distinct personalities but rolled together is one tough woman. However, it’s so easy to see that despite not wanting to she cares for Jax way more than she thinks she should and there is no doubt that while she questions letting him go 21 years ago it was what she needed to do at that time. She needed it for her, to find herself, to make something of her life, and to realize that her life isn’t the same without him in it.
Straight up there is a lot and I do mean a lot of sex in this story because that’s the way these two deal with one another so they don’t have to talk. They knew each other in the past, even lived together a short while, and while they both admit they enjoy spending sexy time together they don’t want to admit it’s more than that possibly because regardless of what they’ll say they both felt a loss when they split up before and don’t want to feel that again. I give Jax a lot of credit for wanting to spend time talking and acting like a real couple with Natalie and even though she claims she doesn’t want that deep down she does. Honestly it was hard watching these two try and not fall in love when in reality it’s been there all along.
Getting Played has it all; two extremely loveable characters that you might possibly want to hit over the head on occasion, funny hijinks and dialog, supremely sexy times with a couple who doesn’t mind being watched, Synergy finally finds their front man, and best of all two extremely hard headed people finally admit they’ve been in love with each other forever. I can’t believe we only have one book left in this series; I have loved it from the start and know that the next book is going to tear me apart!

5 Stars!!!
5 Flames for Hotness!!

Jaxon is the king of Sexy and Nat is his Queen.

This Series remains one of my favorite series of all time and this installment just proves why it is. This is Jaxon’s book. We have had a privlige to see him throughout the Heart of Fame series so we are not stranger to how he loves his women and lots of sex. What we did not know is he had a long lost relationship that he was very smitten on a gal named Natalie. Jaxon has to rely on Nat’s expert in the music field to find the replacement for their band. When a challenge is thrown into the mix we have one explosive beginning to a solid relationship.

Jax character is vunerable yet willing to hold his ground to get what he wants. We did not have the emotional baggage as we have seen in other books but the trust in this relationship has been damaged. They’re both characters that do not want to surrender their hearts. Nat is the hold out Iin this story. She was hurt by Jaxon’s philandering ways years ago and is scared to try again. Jaxon is scared as well and this is the emotional turmoil that we experience in this book. The angst was crazy good between our characters creating a roller coater ride of sexual escapades. Those escapades are red hot!

Lexxie is one of my favorite authors and I have read many of her books. Her writing is steamy and flows perfectly to the end.

I highly recommend this book as well as the other books in this series. I am going to miss these characters with the last installment Blackthorne coming out soon. Each book can be read as a stand-alone.

My Favorite Quotes:

She was going to maintain control. She had to. Otherwise Jaxon Campbell would walk away when it was done, not only with her AC/DC album this times, gut her heart. And she wasn’t letting him anywhere near that.

For the first time in Jax’s life the idea of making love to Nat seemed wrong. Because at that point in time, all he really wanted to do was – God help him – have a conversation with her. A conversation.

Wild hear poured through him. Pooled in his groin, his soul.

He knew she fought what was happening between them. Knew she wanted only sex. Bit it was so much more. His soul told him so, and he always listened to his soul.

When he was with her, truly with her in every sense, he’d never ever been lost. Ever.

Could all of his family and friends be right? Twenty years ago he had walked out on the one woman that he could never forget no matter how many times he tried with other women. The only thing that he had taken with him was her autograph AC/DC album and the only thing he left was his heart. Jaxon had it all fame, success and as many women as he wanted. But something essential was missing. All of his friends had found their mates only Jaxon was still living the wild rock star lifestyle. When it came time to find a new lead singer for the band he knew there was only one person that could help him. The woman that he had left behind and he didn’t know how to approach after twenty years.

Natalie had spent the last twenty years completing her schooling, furthering her education and becoming the Dean of a prestigious school of music. She had never completely left behind her first love, Jaxon. Even though at the time neither had spoken of love and forever the feelings were there. Jaxon had slept his way through every city that he had toured with the band. He was continually in trouble with paternity suits, being pursued by the paparazzi and irate fathers. When the need to see Natalie again Jaxon realizes that what has been missing in his life has been direction.

The last thing that Jaxon expected Natalie to ask in return for her help was organisms for names. For each organism he gives her, she will give him a name of a possible new lead singer. Natalie’s rational is this will finally get him out of her system and at the same time give her revenge for him taken the album. What can possibly go wrong with this plan? Read the book and find out how these two settle the past and look toward the future.

Hero –Jaxon Campbell: 4 stars
Heroine –Natalie Thorton: 4 stars

Cliffhanger: No

Would I recommend this book: Yes! This is book is funny, sexy and incredibly hot! It is about a sexy rock star and the woman that he left behind.

Where have I been and why have I just now heard The Heart Of Fame series when book 7 has been released?

I have been missing out on an awesome rock star series (one of my fave kinds of romance). Luckily Getting Played was easy to read as a standalone and I am totally going to go back and read the other stories. One thing I loved is that with not having read the rest of the series, I wasn’t lost at all. There was just enough info that I got a taste of what the other books will be like when I read them, but not so much that I feel like I have already read the other six stories and don’t need to read them now.

As Getting Played started, the situation that Jax was in had me cracking up. He is a smart a$$ (love that) and how he didn’t get himself beat to the ground I don’t know. To me, in that situation, he feels like that one guy that we have all known in our life, who can do just about anything, flash his charming smile and crack a little joke, and all is forgiven. (That is not exactly what happened in that scene, but that is just how he felt to me right off the bat.)

Then it moves into the heart of the story, Synergy needs a new lead singer after Nick’s retirement. They have two weeks to find one for an important deadline. Jax volunteers to go to Natalie, he is sure she is the one who can help them out. The other guys know about him breaking her heart and stealing her AC/DC album, and they start making plans for his funeral. :D (I feel like I should add they don’t really plan his funeral, for all of you out there who take things literally.)

And so the story goes.

It was hot. This is my favorite type of romance, a great story line with some super hot scenes that will you leave you wanting your own Jaxon Campbell. The first spicy scene? I was both laughing and fanning myself.

These two have amazing chemistry, I loved both of them. Both are extremely likable characters with the way they are written. I can understand why Nat is trying to hold herself back because of both how Jax was when they were first together years ago and because if his reputation as a ladies man now. I was rooting them both on though. These two were perfect together and I loved the book.

I cannot wait to get started on the other 6 books.

Thank you so much for my copy of Getting Played!

The warning does not lie, you guys. There was a lot of spicy sex in this book and you're going to want a cold beverage when you read Getting Played. There was a lot of funny parts in this book and was a lively romp of a read.

Jaxon Campbell was a famous rock star and charming, womanizing playboy. He gets himself in scrapes but always managed to get himself out with a winning smile and by cracking jokes. His band Synergy was about to call it quits after unsuccessfully finding a lead singer when Jax volunteered to talk to the one person he thought could help the band: his ex-girlfriend Natalie Thornton, now the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Though Jax broke Nat's heart and stole her prized autographed AC/DC album, she decided to help him. But in exchange for her help, Nat wanted mind-blowing sex with multiple orgasms like the kind he used to give her in return. Jax might have broken her heart but no one could satisfy her in bed like he did. To Nat it was a business deal, but Jax realized that the girl he let get away years ago might be the only one for him. Can Jaxon convince Nat to give him a second chance?

I really enjoyed Getting Played. Even thought it is the seventh in the series and I haven't read any of the other books (actually, this is my first by Lexxie Couper), I had no problems getting into this one. It was well-written and well-paced with some hilarious banter between Jax and Nat and silly hijinks. While there were a lot of steamy encounters, I didn't feel the story didn't suffered for it. Jax and Nat had great chemistry and both were very likable.

I really can't find anything to complain about Getting Played. I mean, it was not one of those "O.M.G. this is the best book I've read!" kind of book but it was a really fun, sexy read and I liked its effervescent tone. I might pick up a few of the previous books in the series or other books by Couper since I enjoyed this one so much. If you have a hankering for a fast, very spicy and lighthearted second-chance romance read, you'll enjoy this book. This is also a good book to read to get you out of a reading slump.

Jax needs to find a lead singer and fast as his band Synergy is on the brink of breaking up when they should be working on their latest soundtrack. So who does he turn to for help? Well the ex girlfriend whose heart he broke years ago by sleeping with many women when they had just started living together, of course.

Natalie is now the director of COM which is also where Nick's son goes to school. Natalie agrees to help Jax with a catch - a name for every orgasm he gives her. So what guy would actually say no to that deal especially one that is clearly still in love with her? Ok so maybe not so clear to him since he is still wrestling with why he gave her up in the first place. For Natalie it is more about if she can trust them together again and wanting some stability in her life.

One thing hasn't changed between them is the fire hot chemistry they have together. Even going to the movies....oh my. Natalie knows what she wants from Jax and is very vocal about it. At least one of her challenges made me cringe for poor Jax because it was all about torturing him for sure. At one point she just flat out tells him..."four orgasms now" and damn if Jax didn't just go ahead and serve them up on demand. Seriously...hot!

I loved reading Jax go through the thought process of why they broke up to being in love with her still. I also loved that we get to see the other guys in the band including Nick who gives Jax quite the talking to about Natalie and how he has been living his life.

I give Getting Played 4 hearts!

Lexxie Couper couldn't have ended this book on a better note!
Jaxon Campbell and Natalie Thorton don't hate each other but don't exactly love each other either, or do they. These two past lovers make a pact to use each other for their own selfish benefit. Add in a floor to ceiling window, a piano and zoo and you have the makings of a fiery love story topped with an AC/DC album.
Lexxie Couper is a must read for everyone!

Far from the best in this series, no real story, just sex, sex, oh - and a lot more sex. I'm not a prude, but I do prefer a story to actually have been written, so as to justify the otherwise gratuitous erotic encounters. It was as if this book was the "oh heck we have this other band member to write about and I've run out of ideas" one. No real character development, no filling out of the other characters - just the obligatory lead in to the next book.
