Beneath the tranquil canopy of Faith’s Creek orchard, secrets long buried are about to resurface, offering a love once lost a second chance to bloom.
Paula Wengerd never imagined she’d return to the Amish community she left behind years ago. Sent away in shame with a broken heart and a shattered future, she built a new life in Florida, far from the pain of her past. But when her daughter Charlotte announces her upcoming marriage in Faith’s Creek, Paula must return to the Amish and face the ghosts she’d left behind.
Frederick Cowper believed he had lost the love of his life forever. Misled by lies and half-truths, he mourned the tragic loss of Paula and the child he never knew. Now, years later, his journey to Faith’s Creek uncovers a truth that turns his world upside down—Paula is alive, and so is their daughter.
As they navigate the pain of past betrayals and the possibility of a future together, Paula and Frederick must decide if the love they once shared is strong enough to overcome the wounds that have festered for so long. With the support of their community and the enduring faith that has guided them through life’s storms, they find themselves drawn back to the grove where their story first began.
But can they truly forgive and move forward, or will the shadows of the past continue to haunt them? In The Grove of Second Chances, love, faith, and redemption intertwine in a heartwarming tale that reminds us that it’s never too late to heal and to hope.
I liked this romance that gave Frederick and Paula a second chance at love. They are brought together in Faith's Creek after twenty years of separation due to a teenage pregnancy where Paula's parents sent her away and Frederick's parents told him that Paula and her unborn child had been killed in an accident. That child was Charlotte and she now lives in Faith's Creek with her Aunt. Since she is getting married, Paula arrives from Florida to help with her daughter's wedding. When Frederick shows up with his Bishop from Oregon to deliver clothing, he and Paula know that God has brought them back together and Frederick gets to meet the daughter he never knew he had. I recommend this book for those who enjoy clean Amish romance. This is my voluntary and honest review.
This was a very well written Amish romance story. It was full of love, compassion and second chances. It tells the tale of an Amish couple reunited after having been separated by their parents for twenty years. I found it hard to put down and would highly recommend it!
What it was like to live for twenty years under the lies that their parents told them so they were forced apart. Amazing how love can change their lives and futures. A very good read.
Alas love is rekindled after twenty years apart. I liked how female characters Charlotte and Paula interacted. I love that Paula never gave up on love. I can relate well to the characters in this book and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys the Amish genre.
