Blue Phoenix #1

Summer Sky

Rate this book
Sky changed her life for a man once, and she has no intention of doing it again - even if he is a six-foot, tattooed rock god who makes a mean bacon sandwich.

Sky Davis is fed up of boyfriend Grant taking her for granted, and when she comes home to find him wearing a girl, Sky suspects the relationship is over. She takes an unscheduled vacation and leaves the life (and guy) she hates behind.

Rock star Dylan Morgan is struggling with fame and infamy, sick of his life being controlled by other people. Dylan cuts his hair and walks away from his role as lead singer of Blue Phoenix, leaving behind chaos and speculation.

Outside the English seaside town of Broadbeach, their cars and worlds collide.

Sky decides Dylan is an arrogant guy with too many tattoos, and Dylan is amused by the smart-mouthed girl with no idea who he is. Dylan and Sky soon discover they’ve travelled to Broadbeach for the same reason - to escape from reality and head back to a place with happy childhood memories. Losing themselves in a world where they know nothing about each other, Sky and Dylan begin a holiday romance that soon heats up their rainy English summer.

Fantasies can’t last forever, and when reality crashes the party, Sky isn’t sure she wants to be more than his ‘summer Sky’ but Dylan doesn’t want to let her go.

Returning to the real world, public scrutiny isn’t their only problem. Blue Phoenix lead guitarist, Jem Jones, has a reason for wanting Sky out of Dylan’s life, and is determined to come between them. Some things won’t stay hidden, even when they’re paid to ‘go away’.

Summer Sky is a contemporary romance with a rock star flavour where occasionally more than the bacon sizzles. It is the first in the Blue Phoenix series.

The Blue Phoenix books are a series of contemporary romance novels and novellas centred on the fictional rock band Blue Phoenix.

**This book is not a standalone and has a cliffhanger. Book Two: Falling Sky will be released June 10th 2014**

Well, I toughed it out and finished this thing. I have a serious problem with not being able to put a book down if I don't like it - I NEED to finish it, it's a compulsion. Before I hit 100 pages I knew I wanted to put this down, but no. Here we are.

This story started off as a cute 4 stars. I was enjoying it, it was easy and light. But then Sky started getting a little crazy. Then Dylan started going a little stalkerish. Then Sky got worse. Then Dylan. This was a whirlwind of messy, unnecessary, *insert any other adjective that I can't think of* drama that I wish I never subjected myself to. Which sucks because I was really looking forward to this.

Most of Summer Sky floated back and forth between 2 and 3 stars, so at anytime my review could change between the two. 2.5 is probably a solid guess. I hate pretty much everyone involved. Then upgraded to only disliking Dylan but just kidding, I actually hate him again.

Oh and this ends in a cliffhanger. Excellent, I didn't know that. And now I'm going to find the next book, skim the crap out of it just so I can have some closure and then throw it at a wall.

The end.

Sky wants to be away from everything for a while and she goes to her family’s beach house. She wants to enjoy the silence and the beach there.
Dylan is a famous rock star that needs some time away from the fame and his band. He rents a cute beach house. When Dylan arrives there, he realizes that he isn’t the only one staying at the house.
Sky and Dylan spend the day together and have a great time together. They also spend the rest of their time together at the house. They feel comfortable with each other and slowly open up to each other. Neither of them want to leave the beach house, but the revelation of Dylan’s secret will change things between them.

Summer Sky is a good start of Dylan and Sky’s love story. It doesn’t end with a huge cliffhanger, but it’s clear that their story isn’t over. Dylan and Sky are barely together as a couple in this book. I loved their time at the beach the most. I loved reading about them growing closer to each other and them getting to know each other. I never understood why Dylan being famous is such a problem for Sky.

Dylan is a sweetheart. He never gave Sky any reason to doubt him or his words. He protects her when she needs it. He really likes Sky a lot and he wants to be with her. He isn’t letting her go without a fight. Dylan is a talented and rich rock star. He loves to make and perform music. He’s good friends with his band mates, but his band mates are having some personal issues. Dylan really needed that time away from everything and meeting Sky was a pleasant, great surprise.

Sky is sweet, insecure and a little stubborn. She knows what she wants. She has been hurt in love and she isn’t looking for someone. She wants to be alone, but Dylan changes that. Sky is so happy to be back near the beach. She has many happy memories there.

Did I like this? Was there potential? Would I read another one? All of these questions I can’t answer. I’m underwhelmed. I think maybe because I’ve read this story before with more likable characters. It started out well. I liked the initial meet up & where it was going before Dylan went all 16 year old boy at the beach “crushing” on a girl. Then it started going downhill. I hoped it was going to get better when the second half switched to dual POV BUT nope no such luck. Also the endless pursuit & flip flopping; I couldn’t deal with the heroine.

I was extremely lucky to be a beta reader for this book, and feel as if I have followed the characters journey for quite a while, and have loved every part of it.
Sky Davis is the down to earth, straight talking girl from next door. She's naturally gorgeous and has an equally natural personality. After being cheated on by her lame and lacking boyfriend of 5 years, she decides it's time to take a break. Leaving her home, ex boyfriend and job. She heads down to her childhood retreat for some thinking time. 1 car bump and crazy misunderstanding with cottage double bookings later. Sky has met 'The' Dylan Morgan. Although Sky has no idea that Dylan Morgan is the frontman for rock band Blue Phoenix, and that Dylan is also running and hiding in his childhood retreat too. So begins a sweet and funny meeting that grows into intense, hot chemistry in their holiday bubble. Away from the world they both have ran from.
Right from the beginning, I loved Sky. She's quirky and feisty and so normal you can't help but love her. The one liners she always manages to throw back at a shocked then secretly smitten Dylan, are so quick and sarcastic it's perfect.

"A dog ran out in front of me"
He looks into the road. "What dog?"
"The dog's not here now. I don't think the dog realised it needed to be a material witness and ran off" I narrow my eyes at him and he deliberately looks me up and down.

Dylan is the typical hot and brooding Rock star to start with, but after spending time with Sky, he soon starts coming out of his moping mood and starts to remember how to live.

"The water's bloody cold!" I step back and rub the water off my arms. "How can you stand swimming in this?"
"Because it makes me feel alive! Free. I'd forgotten how awesome this place is. I can breathe again."
Dylan's half talking to himself, I can't help but smile too. His happy enthusiasm is contagious.

The time spent at the cottage is charming and sweet, yet the undercurrent of building feelings makes all the moments really exciting. Waiting to see what they do.
Of course this dream bubble has to eventually burst. Sky has avoided looking to see who Dylan really is and after a glimpse at the real Dylan one day, she decides to take a look. Everything turns up a notch after that and it all goes from sweet yet steamy holiday crushes to intense real life with a harsh inside view of a rock star life, with stalking tendencies and ugly bad secrets waiting to come out. A week hiding in a secluded holiday cottage, indulging in a holiday crush soon becomes a distant memory for Sky and Dylan, but one that will stay with them forever.
There is a huge change halfway through when they come back to the 'real world' and you get to know the real Dylan and the people he spends his life and time with. Some very colourful characters and all pretty memorable.
What I really loved about Summer Sky is how you go from characters that are so like real people, people you can relate to and laugh along with.....

"Is this your underwear?"
I snap my eyes open, spilling my wine as I jump to my feet. Psycho-sexy driver stands at the bottom of the stairs with a pair of my knickers hanging off his long fingers. Not even nice underwear. The sort reserved for unsexy times of the month.

To the gorgeous, fantasy characters that I love to read about in my book escapism. There's so much going on in this book and it's all entertaining and addictive to read. Part sweet and easy to read romance, part rock star sexiness story. A mixture for everyone. Plus knowing the story continues on in a series is even better. There is so many characters I want to see more of and so much more to find out about. It will be exciting to go back to the Blue Phoenix world again.
A very justified and well earned 5 shiny stars!

This book totally sucked me in and I read it in two sittings. Apart from a couple of minor annoyances, I really enjoyed it. Love this author's writing style and will definitely continue the series.

The author brings you into the heart of the story from the get-go and straight away my interest was piqued. Sky is a likeable MC and I loved Dylan at the start; though later on I became more suspicious of his motives and wondered if he was trustworthy. A hot, troubled rock star god? Yeah, this was definitely my kind of book.

There was a part about a third of the way in where I grew a little frustrated as it appeared that the couple were going round and round in circles and the dialog became a little repetitive. However, it was only a minor speed-bump.

I loved the rock star world in the second part of this book and I felt the author did a great job of presenting it as outwardly glamorous but inwardly quite twisted and full of debauchery. It made for some great reading.

I loved the writing style and it was a very accomplished novel, in my opinion.

All in all a great read and I'd highly recommend it. I think fans of J.Lynn would especially enjoy this series.

I've already downloaded Falling Sky and I can't wait to get into bed tonight and continue the story, especially after that shocking cliff-hanger ending (love it).

Thanks to Lisa Swallow for promoting this book which enabled me to pick up a free copy.

As life throws challenges at Dylan and Sky, they independently decide to retreat to the town they enjoyed in their youth. But, as they literally run into each other on the way, a complicated friendship begins to form.

She has had enough of her under appreciative, cheating ex. He is just tired; career and life have taken their toll. She has no clue who he is, and he finds this refreshing. As the tensions of life fall away, Dylan and Sky live in their bubble by the beach. Can they return to the real world? Will Sky’s insecurities be too much for his world? Will his secrets end them?

Luci Hart/Lisa Swallow is a new author to me. I am always thrilled to find a new rockstar series.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Dylan è diventata la mia rock star preferita no. 2!

P.s. Oh mio Dio, LA RIVELAZIONE SUL FINALE. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, datemi il secondo volume! °_°

When Sky Davies leaves her boyfriend and job behind for some “me” time at the beach she meets Dylan Morgan. First, he rear-ends her car, then he picks up her knickers. But awkward and embarrassingly meetings a side, the attraction is instant and they try to revert back to their teenage self and starts a Summer romance. Dylan is also running away from his life. The pressure of being the front man of his band Blue Phoenix, is getting to him and he needs to clear his head. Dylan is not being upfront with who he is, and since Sky doesn’t know, Dylan finally gets to feel like a normal person.

description

The inevitable happens, and after a trip to a local town where Dylan is being recognised, Sky leaves Dylan to find his own way home. In the meantime, Sky Googles Dylan. What she finds causes her to run away from Dylan and their relationship. Dylan, try as he may, can’t seem to get Sky out of his head and he turns into a bit of a stalker. Sky wants nothing to do with Dylan and his fame, so she tries to stay out of the limelight.

For all his fame Dylan is a very down to earth character who can’t and won’t give up on Sky, even though, she keeps pushing him away. I did get very annoyed and frustrated with Sky. I feel that the authors attempt at making her a quirky, sassy and will strong character have failed. Her indecisiveness and thought process is bothersome at best, but the way she handles things is just so juvenile.

description

This book does end on a cliff-hanger but since all the books are out, it’s not really a problem.

I can’t really say that the plot is new but Dylan’s character is awesome – so much so that he makes up for Sky’s flaws and makes me crave more. On top of that, I absolutely love Lisa’s writing style so I’ll definitely continue this feel-good series.

This is the first book I’ve read by Lisa Swallow and I absolutely love her writing style, so it definitely won’t be the last!

*Complimentary copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

3.5 stars

Sky Davis is heartbroken when she comes home to find her boyfriend of 5 years in bed with another girl. She needs some time away to clear her head, so she takes off to her grandmother's beach house. On the way, she gets rear-ended by a pretentious guy in a very expensive car. He doesn't want to share his contact information with her, which freaks her out, so she decides to flee the scene. Imagine her shock when he shows up at her grandmother's house. Turns out her grandmother accidentally double booked the beach house.

Sky has no idea that the pretentious guy is a rock god. Dylan Morgan is the lead singer for Blue Phoenix. I wish we could have gotten a chance to see him perform! He is tired of people telling him how to live his life and decides to bail out on the band for a little while to think. Like Sky, his family also spent time during the summer at the beach house, so he has happy memories there. They both end up stay at the house....together. Their interaction was really cute and the chemistry was great. I found myself smiling a few times.
"Every funny thing you say, every time you blush, even just being in the same room fills me with an unexpected urge to kiss you."
Sky is so different from the girls that Dylan is used to meeting. She's not a groupie or fake. She's curvy and not afraid to say what she thinks. I thought she was funny. They have a great time together until Dylan is recognized and their trip is cut short. She agrees to leave with him, but at the last minute her insecurities make her flee. It was so frustrating to see her go back and forth. She was really insecure, which I guess would be understandable after being cheated on, but still, it was frustrating at times.

Dylan realizes he's in love with Sky and doesn't care if she doesn't fit into his world. He doesn't even want to be a part of that world anymore. Harassment from the paparazzi brings them back together and Sky decides that she wants to be with Dylan. But when she finds out the he's been keeping a huge secret, she isn't so sure anymore.

What knocked this book down from 4 to 3.5 stars for me was the insta-love. I couldn't wrap my mind around Dylan, who only sleeps with girls once and never talks to them again, falling in love with Sky in less than a week. Don't get me wrong, the book was entertaining and the cliffhanger left me wanting to read the next. Yes, you read that right. There is a big cliffhanger at the end.

Sky Davis would totally be my friend in real life. She is naturally down to earth, a sweet and spunky type of fierce female that I love in a novel. She is totally, heartbreakingly gorgeous which is why I couldn't see anyone cheating on her. But, her jerk ex did after five years of being together. Sky just needed a getaway. She goes to her childhood cottage- where her grandmother lives- and rents out the place- or so she thinks. After getting into a little fender bender, with an extremely attractive- but rude man, Sky arrives at the cottage. Apparently granny didn't understand what Sky was saying about wanting to stay in the cottage right away, so she double booked. The hottie from the car accident is the other guest and neither one of them is leaving. Sky then meets Dylan Morgan. Sky has no idea that Dylan Morgan is the front man for rock band Blue Phoenix, and that Dylan is also running and hiding in his childhood retreat too. And so their sweet and sexy love story begins.

Sky has such a sarcastic sense of humor- which I totally love, but then again, so does Dylan. Dylan is the typical hot and brooding rock star in the beginning, but after spending time with Sky, he starts to come alive again after feeling nothing for so long.

The time spent at the cottage is sweet, but there are also some very real feelings happening between the two of them that they don't want to admit- or at least Sky doesn't want to admit to herself.

Of course this bubble has to break open some time. Sky hasn't looked up to see who Dylan really is, but her curious mind gets ahead of her, and she can't turn back. Everything changes in a instant from sweet, bubbly vacation time, to the harsh cold world that is the life of a rock star. I feel bad for Sky in an instant- and awful for Dylan, who truly has feelings for Sky.

There is a huge change when they have to go back to the real world and you get to know the real Dylan and the people in his band and the groupies. Some of the band members aren't so nice- others are.

I am very excited to see what happens in the next installment, Falling Sky. I want their romance to continue, and I hope that Sky can deal with the pressure of being in the spotlight. She is strong, she just needs to give in to her desires, and I think she can do that with Dylan, who wouldn't want to?

I love this new story from Lisa Swallow and can't wait for more!

The most frustratingly good book I've read so far this year, a five star plus read ...

Summer Sky by Lisa Swallow is a rollercoaster ride of frustratingly good romance. The story follows Sky Davis and rock star God Dylan Morgan. They meet unexpectedly during a holiday at a beach house in Broadbeach where both are booked in to rent at the same time. They decide after a fair amount of banter to stay together and enjoy their holiday but of course romance ensues. As far as Sky is concerned it’s a summer holiday romance and it ends as soon as she leaves the holiday house, but Dylan has other ideas. He falls head over heels for Sky and wants to make her his. The time they spend at the holiday house is full of sweet moments and the sexual tension is overwhelming at times.

I absolutely loved this book. It was frustrating in the fact that Sky was all over the place with regards to Dylan. I wanted to reach in a slap her but I certainly understood where she was emotionally after just leaving a long term relationship .. she didn’t want it to be just a rebound relationship. There’s humour, there’s sadness and I just hoped that they would get this relationship on track at some point.

As you would expect Dylan being the rock star God he is, has a very messy past and it catches up with him in a very bad way. I can't elaborate because you need to read it but you just know as the hints develop that it’s not going to end well for either of them.

What I did like .. the story moves along well and I found it hard to put down. I liked the characters and their development. I liked Sky's independence and her sensible outlook. I loved Dylan he was hot, sexy and romantic.

What I didn’t like .. it’s a cliff-hanger, but I understand that there will be a second in the series Falling Sky. I also don’t like the fact that I will now have to stalk the author so I can obtain the conclusion to this wonderful story.

Well done Lisa Swallow on a wonderful story with lots of twists and turns. Your writing is outstanding and I give this wonderful book a five plus star rating.

Well, first everyone should know that this is a cliffhanger book. I guess the second one is coming out in June, so blah! I knew that this was part of a series, but since it had to do with a band, I was hoping that book two would be about a different guy. Unfortunately, that's not the case. There comes a point...about 70% in, where I wanted to just flip through because the whole thing was so monotonous and boring. It was the same thing over and over. Dylan and sky meet at the beach, she learns he's famous, but wants to stay in their bubble without learning more. Their attraction is so strong, but they don't sleep together. She knows it can never go further than her one week stay but just can't leave. They continue on this circle day in and day out. Getting to know each other...fighting about reality....kiss and make up, but don't go any further...start again. Then reality catches up to them and they return to their lives but Dylan keeps calling and texting and she keeps refusing to see him...round and round we go. Until....he outs her to the world and forces her to find safety from the fans with him at his house...but oh...she can't be part of his world, and around and around we go...again. She gives in, they try to make it work and then a secret comes out and she is back to pushing him away.
Very frustrating book, even more frustrating that there is a book two, meaning another couple hundred pages of the same bullshit. Eh...not for me. Usually I can't stand to leave a series unfinished...I think I will let their story end here! I get a pretty clear picture of how book two will go, and I'm not all that interested in banging my head against a wall. Maybe if Jem gets a book about cleaning himself up and Liam gets a book about getting rid of Honey...those might be interesting reads.

Interlude was previously published as Summer Sky by Lisa Swallow in 2014. This is a release under her new pen name with minor changes, such as the book title. A contemporary steamy British rockstar romance between Sky & Dylan. The second book “Falling” also releases the same day and is a continuation of their story. The rest of the series will focus on the other members in the British rock band Blue Phoenix.

Sky meets Dylan after he crashes into the back of her car. She doesn’t know who Dylan is and doesn’t figure it out until after they’ve become pretty acquainted with each other. Dylan is the lead singer in the quite successful band Blue Phoenix, which is also very popular in the media.

This was a solid book. The push/pull dynamic between the couple sometimes was a little frustrating. Sky lacks confidence when she is constantly comparing herself to the type of women Dylan has dated in the past, when she is clearly not that type. She wasn’t one of my favorite characters. However, I really liked Dylan. He was very understanding and supportive towards her feelings. I enjoyed the progression of their relationship and the introduction of the other band members.

Then my jaw hit the floor!! We are hit with a really big twist, making this book end with a huge cliffhanger! But, thankfully the second book will release the same day so you can dive into it immediately to find out how that ending plays out! I can’t wait to read that one!

Both books release on 4/20/2022.

I loved this book, absolutely loved it, except for one thing…I have to wait for book two to see what happens. Dang Cliffhangers. Seriously, this is a wonderfully, exciting book that kept my emotions in turmoil from the first word to the last sentence. The humorous dialog in the opening chapters had tears rolling down my cheeks; then as the story progressed, the tears were pouring for other reasons. There were times in the story when I wanted to reach in the book and shake these young, confused, immature people. Then other times I wanted to hug them for getting it right.

Ms. Swallow has done a wonderful job of building these characters and putting together a sensitive, passionate love story fraught with complications from each character’s past. The emotional tension lives and breathes in this storyline. I hope Ms. Swallow is working very, very hard on book two because I need some relief from waiting to know she fixes the mess Dylan has gotten himself into. I recommend this book to all readers 18 years and older due to the mature theme.

He clearly needs psychiatric help for being that dependent on another person. She acts like every little thing is the end of the world. This is true love, clearly. The end of the book seems to be thrown in for shock value and cliff hangers but will probably end up being a misunderstanding in the next book. I will read the next two since I got them as a boxed set so I certainly hope they're better than this one.

DNF at 40%.

This started as a solid 4 star read. Girl next door heroine and a rockstar hero. She doesn’t know he’s famous and he finds this refreshing. Yes, love this trope! They have a nice meet cute and then end up being roommates at the rental cottage. She still has no idea who he is, he’s hesitant to trust her but they start hanging out together. Then the first kiss happened after hanging out for 3 days and boom… everything went downhill fast. The back and forth going was annoying. But what annoyed me the most was this heroine. After getting all hot and heavy with the hero, he makes some crude comments and she’s immediately insulted that he wants to have sex with her. Because “she doesn’t sleep with strangers”. Although she was already having inner thoughts of licking his abs and having sex with him. So don’t go all Mary Sue now. Then there’s another similar scene with the back and forth going. They make out a little more and now she’s insulted he stops before taking things further. Then the next day a cliché bathroom scene where they “accidentally” have to pass in the hallway and her towel “accidentally” drops to the floor. Again with her “I’m glad I didn’t have sex with him” only to become a hussy the same night after a few glasses of wine. Look I don’t mind if you want to jump his bones after you just met him. Go you! But claiming to be “not that kind of girl” and undressing and climbing him like a tree the next minute just doesn’t work for me. At this point I decided to start looking at some reviews. And then it became clear this book ends on a cliffhanger and continues with a second book for this couple, where reviewers commented on the same behaviour of this heroine. So I’m out. I’m no longer invested in this book at this point, let alone to continue in their second book.

My shelves only apply on what I read so far, so in the remaining 60% it might differ.

Safety until 40%: safe. Heroine was with 3 men before. Hero was/is a manwhore. He’s a one and done type of guy. Very crude and only fucks groupies. No OW/OM drama. No cheating. No sex with OP.

I liked the writing style, however it felt a little dragged out, and ended on a cliffhanger. I will be continuing on to the next in the series as overall I enjoyed it.

Summer Sky is a story of two people meeting at a time when they were escaping from reality and hoping to find themselves in the process.

Sky seemed to think too much of sleeping with Dylan, or obsessed about his body. Granted, Dylan was hot and I would probably be thinking the same thing (lol), but I just felt like all her inner ramblings were about that topic alone. Despite wanting him, she didn't want to be in a relationship with him. She wanted him but not his life. It was frustrating how all over the place she was when it comes to her feelings for Dylan.

Dylan, however, more than made up for whatever complaint I had about Sky. He was sweet and there was power in the simplicity of his words. I guess these traits were noticeable because he was a famous rock star. He saw and experienced something new, natural and honest when he spent time with Sky. He was a very likable character. He was famous and rich, but instead of arrogance, there was vulnerabilty; instead of self-entitlement, there was sensitivity. I felt bad for him for most of the book. He was putting his feelings out there, making himself susceptible to pain, but Sky was fighting her feelings for him. It was a turnabout of the usual famous rock star & regular girl plot where the guy had a wall and the patient girl would tear it down. Dylan laid his feelings from the start and fought for Sky. There was no wall to tear down.

This ended in a cliffhanger and I'm hoping Dylan would get a break in the next book because a happy Dylan was hot and irresistible.

Ms. Swallow is a fabulous writer who has the ability to write riveting dialog and create strong visual imagery. I was sucked into Summer Sky from page one...

Sky Davis' life has just flipped upside down. A five year long relationship ends (with a snort out loud comment), leaving her heading to the beach house her grandmother owns in Cornwall to sort out her life. She's more than a little surprised to find a handsome and enigmatic man occupying her refuge.

Thanks to her grandmothers inattention, Sky Davis and Dylan Morgan find themselves sharing this quaint corner of paradise. Against her better judgment and all odds, the two decide to share the house, ending up forging a deep friendship... and perhaps something more.

The more is hard to determine, since Dylan's life is shrouded in shadows, and Sky doesn't do mysterious. She's a straight talking, balls to the walls kind of girl, and Dylan waffles just a little too much.

What is undeniable is their attraction to each other. Throughout the book Dylan and Sky reconnect, only to have their very different realities pull them apart. Layer by layer, Dylan reveals his true self to her, always hoping that her candid, "what you see is what you get" nature can help him find his way to the life that beckons him, but seems far beyond reach.

This is not a stand alone book - I greatly look forward to reading book two in this series.

I enjoyed this read, was a good in between book I was able to put down and get things done but was still interested to pick it up and continue when I had the time. First half is only Sky's pov then second its both hers and Dylan's.

This is about a Famous band member Dylan getting away from the life he is struggling with and Sky escaping to put her life back together. When their paths collide Sky has no idea who Dylan Morgan really is, he does tell her he is famous but just not how famous.

They spend a few days together where they realise their childhoods entwine and they get to know each other. Their relationship from here on gets so up and down, things go smoothly then next it's not. When Sky finally googles Dylan she knows she doesn't want to be apart of the spotlight and therefor be with Dylan.

This is where I loved Dylan's character, he didn't want to give Sky up, he kept going back after she kept pushing him away over and over. He could of tried forgetting her and moving on but he was not even interested.

I did at times get annoyed with Sky's character, her indecisiveness and her thought process and how she handled things.

This does end on a cliffhanger, there's secrets and a past that are coming out that need to be explained so looking forward to the next book.

"From now on, I'm me and the world can get knotted if they don't like the Sky I am."

The books starts off with a Sky and Dylan meeting because they have a little fender bender and it was an obvious fore shadowing of their chance encounter that would lead to a future romance. I actually loved this book. It was not hard for me to get into and it was a very quick read. They meet and fall in love in such a short time but it really didn’t feel unrealistic. It is sort of the fairytale type that all ladies love to have. Boy meets girl, boy falls for girl minus the happily ever after..because there is another book. Yes got ya sucker. I love how the author brings these two together. She does an excellent job in my opinion of making the characters not so apparent about their feelings for each other and lets it seem to progress naturally although it was very quick. There was just something different about this book it had all the emotions that I really like to a book. Just enough angst to keep me reading and enough to get me to want to read the other book. Worth reading for sure.

I downloaded this book for free not expecting much but I actually enjoyed it. The author is British and it's set in the UK although it did read like an American book but as that's mainly what I read anyway, it wasn't a problem. I like the theme of the story which is a famous person falling for an ordinary girl.

There is a bit of angst in the story as things do not go smoothly for Dylan and Sky due to the pressures of his fame etc. Dylan has been in a band since he was a teenager but now he is not enjoying the lifestyle. He meets Sky and she doesn't recognise him or know that he is famous and he finds that a refreshing change. The pacing of their romance is well written and they don't just jump into a sexual relationship. I liked both characters and I liked the writing style.

It does end on a cliffhanger but the next book is already out. There are other books to follow about Dylan's fellow band members. I'm intrigued to read Jem's story as in this book, he is not a nice character!

I really enjoyed reading this story! Sky, is taking some time off after breaking up with her boyfriend of five years, when she meets Dylan on the way to the little beach house that belongs to her grandma. She has no idea who he is, and doesn't really care, all she wants is some time on her own. Turns out Dylan is a huge deal and he's also taking some time off from the 'real' world.
They get to spend time together and realise their lives intertwined a long time ago. Sky didn't take crap from Dylan, which was very refreshing. And Dylan, well, he's just swoonworthy and so patient *sigh*
I'm looking forward to reading the second book in the series to see what happens with our favourite couple. If you love rockstar-badboy stories, I highly recommend this one.

Skye is heartbroken and needs to get away so she heads to grandma's summer house and on the way she has a fender bender with Dylan. Then to top it off he shows up at the summer house and they realize that there's been a mix up with the weeks so both of them have to stay. Sexy Dylan has walked away from his rockstar life and all it entails. He's surprised when Sky doesn't recognize him, so he decides to keep quiet because it been a long time that he's been able to just be himself. As they spend time together the sparks start flying between them. But what will happen when they have to go back into their real worlds? Summer Sky is a entertaining read filled with some humor and twist and turns that I couldn't put it down till the end, which ends in a cliffhanger boo.

A very good read! I have already started the next (2nd) book (even though the 2nd book cost me $3.99). I was so invested in the 1st book that I felt blackmailed into buying the next book because the first book just kind of ended in mid sentence. I have fallen victim to the "whole" listed amazon sale of $0.99 for a limited time deal. The advertisement didn't state that this book has a as^hol# ending that requires you to buy the next book to get some kind of result. I liked the book but the ending did not leave me satisfied.
