It provides a solid C++ foundation to build upon.

I guess the title explains it all, this is an extremely beginner book; just the right amount of examples; to be honest this book works if you already know other language and just want to quick check the fundamentals and get introduced to std library; also help me to understand easily the differences between standards.
I know probably some blog posts could do the same, but still is a good book to quickly learn a bit about C++
