Astrid and Dean have their own issues but when they meet up they realize that there is a connection between them. Astrid is worried about her brother and discovers that their battles may not be over and tough decisions may have to be made. I am loving the start of this series which is concentrating on the band of misfits that Lucius forced to help him. As usual, great characterisations and I loved this introduction to Astrid and Dean and their friends. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Echo Of A Wolf is the first installment in the Misfit Shifters series. Echo Of A Wolf is the story about Astrid and Dean. Astrid is ready to put her past under Lucius's control behind her, but moving on is easier said than done. This is made more obvious when she meets Dean- a wolf shifter whose demons mirror her own-unexpectedly reenters her life. Dean has been a longer, grappling with a wolf that hasn't been quite the same since the dark days under Lucius's control. When Astrid reappears, she triggers something new and intense in his wolf. Before he knows what is happening, Astrid becomes the one constant appearance in his thoughts. Astrid is a raven shifter who is trying her hardest to move forward away from her horrid past and she struggles with doing that but can she learn to move forward away from her past with the help of a wolf shifter named Dean. Dean is in the same boat as Astrid with wanting to put his horrible past behind him. I felt sadness for both characters for what they both went through under the control of the jerk Lucius and I'm thrilled to know they were able to get away from him. Echo Of A Wolf is both suspenseful and a definite page-turner of a paranormal romance story. The storyline for Echo Of A Wolf is quite captivating, entertaining, and enjoyable to read. I thought this book to be well-written, beautifully balanced with action and a flare of romance, and is perfectly executed by Author Jennifer Snyder. Echo Of A Wolf is certainly a book that I would recommend for anyone who enjoys reading paranormal romance stories. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next for this amazing author.

Astrid was controlled by Lucas and is scared of her brother Xander, was made to do a lot of bad things but now he is dead. She is a ghost writer for different authors went to a coffee shop to maybe get passed her writer’s block went to get her coffee Dean took it and didn’t realize that two people had ordered the same thing so she accused him trying to take her coffee so she went to give him the coffee he wouldn’t accept it. He hated her for what he thought she hadn’t done when Lucas was making people do what he wanted them to do, Dean didn’t know that she had been under the influence of Lucas too. Her brother didn’t want her to do anything with Dean as he was a traitor to Lucas’ cause, Astrid thought that Xander was acting differently more now. She thought he was possessed by Lucas, Dean accused her of stalking him Ms Lynette gave him a box of pancake mix and syrup. When talking to others that had been victims too, he felt that someone was trying to get into his mind. Astrid started following Xander saw him go to Dean’s house but then she changed to her human form and asked Xander what he was doing there so he called her a traitor too. Xander got into her mind and was going to kill her Dean heard them outside his door and heard her screaming because of the brain torture. Dean got Astrid because of the mate bond before she was killed, he ran into Xander knocked him out. Astrid and Dean went to a bar to find the witch that could help Xander now have to find Xander.

The book started off a bit slow, as it is a spin off, continuing the story from the other side of the point of view. Xander is Astrid’s brother and they are raven shifters and Xander truly believed in Lucius’ worldview. Astrid, came along with the other misfits of Lucius’ forced followers because of that. Lucius’ ability to harm another shifter and control them with his mind didn’t die with him. Sadly, something weird is happening with her brother and Xander is following Dean, the wolf shifter that fought back against Lucius, pretty much the most.
Astrid is a ghost writer and living in the aftermath of Lucius and finally being free is both good and bad. Dean works at Mariam’s Diner as the cook. He is starting to work on getting his life back together in the aftermath. Bad things still continue and he and his wolf have been feeling weird things lately. Dean and Astrid keep bumping into each other and then he realizes that they are fated mates, as she does. We get to see things on the misfits side, the side that worked for Lucius against the Ashen tribe. I found the book to not be as fascinating and fun as the Ashen tribes’ books. Although the story was a bit slow, it was still good. I was a bit disappointed with it and the only good part was the interactions between Astrid and Dean. Plus the freaky stuff. I can’t wait to see what happens next and how everything gets resolved.

Jennifer Snyder delivers an enthralling blend of paranormal romance and shifter intrigue in Echo of a Wolf. This short story is packed with emotion, tension, and an undeniable chemistry between the characters that keeps you hooked from start to finish.
The writing is intriguing, pulling readers into a world where shifters navigate love, hatred, loyalty, and face previous trauma. The romance is perfectly paced, neither rushed nor drawn out, making the connection between the characters feel natural and deeply felt. Snyder’s ability to craft a vivid setting and engaging plot within a shorter format is impressive, ensuring that every moment counts.
If you love shifter romances filled with suspense, heart, and a touch of danger, Echo of a Wolf is a must-read. Snyder proves that she knows how to weave a compelling tale that lingers long after the final page. Highly recommended!
Another series based in Crescent Creek and first book in new series about the Misfit Shifters is as enjoyable as Jennifer Snyder's books. Knowing the background from other books makes for a deeper read but not necessary as each series of books have their own group stories with each book focused on a couple. The basic novella storyline of two shifters finding their mates, overcoming adversity and discovering each other runs through all the books in series. However, the beauty is each book has a unique perspective of the two characters coming together, finding something in each that brings them into one purpose and are just lovely, uplifting and fun books to read, short, sweet and adult. Lovely escapism.

Oh wow, I was completely sucked in and captivated by this story. There was intrigue and mystery shrouding the whole plot relating back to mind control and possession. Dean and Astrid, the main characters, were both survivors of Lucius (an evil Alpha). They were both trying to move on as best they could. When they were drawn together and confronted by Xander, her brother, a whole new slew of problems sprang up before them. They would need to find a way to trust eachother, and work together. Would it be enough? Find out more by reading and in coming books in the Misfit Shifters series.
I voluntarily reviewed a gift copy of this book and highly recommend it to others (mature readers recommend). Happy Reading Y'all 📚
Dean and Astrid story. The beginning of the Misfit Shifters. After Lucius demise, his controlling ofshifter minds left those with paranoid and disconnected thoughts. Astrid is the sister to Lucius's second in command, Xander. This made Dean see her as bad as them. He thought she didn't fight the mind control. When he catches Xander trying to kill Astrid, Dean steps in to help her. Now they and a group of dean's friends are set out to find Xander and a way to stop him from caring out Lucius evil plans. Drama, danger, action, fated mates, possession, friendship, steamy, wonderful characters, and Happily-ever-mated. I'm ready for more in this series.

Dean blames Astrid and her brother for what happened with Lucius, he thinks they were agreeable with him when in fact Astrid was forces just like him; her brother – not so much. When they do run into each other, it’s not pretty but when they touch, sparks fly. When evil rears it’s ugly head, Dean feels driven to protect Astrid. Dean’s wolf and Astrid’s crow preen for each other but Dean and Astrid are slower to see the light. This is a wonderful start to this series: I loved the idea of the Misfit Shifters and can’t wait for the next instalment. I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC copy of the book.
What a phenomenal start to the Misfit series, this story is setting the scene for the Misfits and you just know that the pack will be one of those that will worm into your heart, Dean and Astrid are already there, but the others wont be far behind I’m sure, there just seems to be something brewing and honestly I am not sure that it’s not something Ms. Lynette has in her bag of tricks. My mind is a ticking and I’m sure it wont settle until we get the next instalment of the Misfit series. I really enjoyed how open Astrid was about being a ghost writer, as it must be so hard being an author and having to put yourself on the line at every turn, and I am so pleased that Jennifer did.
Astrid Kincaid is a strong character trying to leave her troubled past behind, but things get complicated when Dean Voss, a wolf shifter with his own demons, unexpectedly reenters her life. Their dynamic is filled with tension, and every encounter brings out a deeper connection that I found really intriguing.
Dean’s journey as a loner struggling with his wolf adds depth to the story. His protective instincts kick in when a new threat arises, and it’s heartwarming to see how he steps up for Astrid. Their chemistry is undeniable, and I loved watching them navigate their feelings amidst the chaos of their pasts.
A wonderful shifter story, the story of Dean and Astrid keeps you glued to your book. Their meeting was difficult at first because Dean blamed her and her brother for what happened to Lucius, but he soon sees that it is different than he thinks. They see each other and the chemistry and attraction was there immediately and the sparks soon fly back and forth. But they can win the battle with the evil that is coming after them, Dean does everything he can to protect Astrid and keep her safe. I enjoyed their story and it is definitely recommended to read.

Astrid feared her brother had changed but he was why Dean does not trust her. Ever since Raven shifter Astrid and her brother were released from Lucius's mind control she has noticed a change in him. Wolf shifter Dean finds it hard to trust her after they were released and when he keeps encountering her thinks she is spying on him. Astrid finds it had to consentrate and rarely leave home frightened by the darkness see now sees in her brother.

I loved Echo Of A Wolf Book 1 of Misfit Shifters. Dean survived Lucius and so did Astrid but she let it happen, or so he thinks. For some reason they keep running into reach other. Something is going on with her brother, he’s possessed and he tried to kill her. Now they are working together but fate also has more in store for them. I loved the story and the characters. This connects to the Ashen Tribe. I would definitely recommend this book.

Astrid is a raven shifter, she is a ghost writer, who is just trying to find normal after no longer being under control of Lucius. Dean is a wolf shifter that has a lot of anger after what went down with Lucius. He blames Astrid, her brother, Xander, was Lucius right hand man.
Astrid has a feeling something is wrong with Xander and is saved by Dean when he gets too aggressive. It is at that time they realize that they are mates.

Although this is the start of a series there has obviously been some story that cam before it . You can read it as a stand alone and it does end in a sort of cliff hanger but it is such an intriguing story that I want to find the earlier mention of these characters too. Easily read in an evening and quite a spooky shifter romance.

Raven shifter Astrid and wolf shifter Dean found themselves under evil shifter Lucius's control and now that he was gone they had to find themselves. When their paths cross again they are drawn to one another but with another threat on the horizon will they get their HEA together? Well written engaging story and well developed characters draw you in to the action desires and more!.
As this is Book 1 of a new series I did not realise that there would be references to events that had taken place in a previous series.
Although I liked the story and the writing style, I could not completely follow the plotline which impacted my ability to fully engage with the events being depicted.

While this book can be read as a stand-alone, it will make more sense if you read the Ashen Tribe books first. This is Astrid and Dean’s story...and how the Misfit Shifters got their name. It’s fast paced, steamy, and ends with enough suspense to encourage you to read the next book.

I really appreciated the pace of this book. It didn't drag on, which was a good change. There was well-written tension in the beginning. Very nicely executed! Writing style was clear & simple not overly verbose or repetitive. I loved how the pack of misfits becomes so familiar and friendly as if they've known each other for ages. Looking forward to the next one!
Dean and Astrid are both survivors of Lucius’ mind control. Dean has a chip on his shoulder because he thought Astrid didn’t fight hard enough and was just complacent with it all. They are drawn together because Astrid keeps following her brother, Xander, who is acting strange. He was also a victim of Lucius, but he was his second in command, so he really wasn’t as under his control as the rest of the shifters were. Astrid and Dean find out they are fated mates and that changes everything for them. Will Astrid be able to convince Dean that Xander is possessed and to not just kill him out right?
I've been waiting to get back to Crescent Creek & read the next series since the last release.... I cannot get enough of these amazing series.....
The Wolf shifter Dean finds his true mate in Astrid, a Raven shifter. This couple care for each other after finding out their bonded. It's a match made in heaven so to speak. They have all the feels of a couple in love straight away. It's so romantic in parts of this story.
I am so glad I was able to get an arc from the author as it has made my day!!.
