For years I kept my desire for her hidden. Until now. Lashe Piloting Ambassador Anna Abel’s transport shuttle from earth to my home, the living Destran space station, has been my assignment for five earth years. My orders are clear—operate the transport and leave her alone. When the shuttle is damaged, I’m forced to crash land on an uncharted moon. Now, we’re stranded on a storm-ridden planet with no chance of rescue. I may not be able to hide my desire in such close proximity, but I will find a way to keep her alive.
He’s quiet, strong and untouchable. Until now. Anna Being earth’s ambassador to the Destran people is a dream job, but terrible for relationships. Once again, I’m alone for the holidays, so when I’m invited to spend them on Destra, I accept. Lashe, my attractive transport pilot, is competent, polite, and has barely spoken to me in the five years he’s been ferrying me to and from the Destran station. When he admits to having secret feelings for me, our attraction blooms. But none of it matters if we can’t repair our ship and get out of here before a storm tears the ship (and us) to space dust. (Lashe is a standalone story that takes place in the Lords of Destra world.)
These sweet and spicy holiday tales are part of the Rescued by the Alien collection, a collaboration of authors telling holiday tales with a sci-fi romance twist. Each book is a standalone, containing its own Happily Ever After. They can be read in any order.
Kinda meh overall. I liked the set up, but the follow through was lacking. Anna switched gears from “I don’t really know you” to “let’s spend the rest of forever together” really fast, which seemed out of character for her.
Spice: 2/5
Triggers: beginning of suffocation, stranded in space, threat of being eaten, references to deceased parents
This was fine. I feel like there was a little too much backstory required (I haven’t read the main series from this author). I wish there had been a bit more to their relationship once it developed.

Anna is Earth’s ambassador to Destra. Lashe, a Destran, has been her shuttle pilot for five years. Neither realized nor acted upon their attraction to one another. An AI named Stelis adds a bit of levity while also being essential to their well being.
Lashe is transporting Anna to Destra when their shuttle is damaged, causing them to land on the nearest asteroid. Some of the repairs need to be done outside of the vehicle. Lashe is threatened by strong winds and intrusive micro dust. He is only able to re-enter the shuttle with Anna’s assistance.
The three eventually determine that what they thought was an asteroid is an alien life form. It intends to consume them once it breaches their defenses. Lashe and Anna agree that they may not survive and decide to succumb to their desire for one another. Anna discovers that she is Lashe’s fated mate and that he had known this the entire time he worked for her.
Lashe has to perform one more outside repair. The alien attempts to seize hold of him and he decides to sacrifice himself so Anna can escape. She appears at his side and the two manage to thwart what is later identified as an extremely rare toryash. They eventually make their way to Destra where their relationship is celebrated by their friends.

Lashe has the strong silent thing locked down so hard that Anna has no idea what he could be to her. Which is a shame because she and Lashe are gooooood together. But before they can be good, they have find themselves in a perilous situation with a low chance for survival.
Not that Lashe is going to let anything happen to Anna. Not only is she probably his mate, but she's also doing important work as the ambassador to his people. In his mind, her ambassadorship is more important than his feelings, so he keeps his distance. Until that distance gets obliterated and the truth comes out.
On Anna's end, she's locked down her feelings because Lashe has never shown even a hint that he might be interested. Let's just say that they both have a lot to deal with when THINGS HAPPEN.
A dangerous situation, a trap the duo can't avoid, a whole lot of suppressed feelings (that surge to the forefront), a male who denies himself for the good of his people, and a lady who finds the perfect someone for her right under her nose. GOOD STUFF!
3.5 stars This was good, but it seemed to be a bit too short and some aspects felt stilted/fake. The MMC has been the FMC's transporter for 5 years and has known that she would be his mate. In the 5 years the FMC was in a few relationships that all ended because the man broke up with her. She never broke up with them, because she felt that the relationship was good. Compared to other stories with mates this is off. It didn't really make sense that the MMC wouldn't try to get closer to his mate just because they have a professional relationship. Also, it felt really strange that the FMC had to suddenly save the MMC on the two occasions that he went out to the asteroid's surcface when the on-board AI and the MMC planned multiple contingency plans (and apparently none included the FMC helping or knowing about the plans). The MMC didn't take anything outside with him other than the one instrument. So it seemed like the only other plan was for him to die. Why didn't he take the laser for hostile boarding with him himself? That was a bit weird, but I liked the unique storyline.

Our MMC was a Destran, and I have to say, they’re one of my absolute favorite alien races! At first, I found myself wondering why this charming Destran was so far away from his home, the Solas. But as I learned the story behind it, I felt a mix of emotions—both sweet and a bit sad.
It’s clear that this duo is destined to find their happily ever after; I mean, who could resist a Destran? They have this incredible way of making you fall head over heels! Our FMC was definitely in good hands with her mate. But before they could get that fairy-tale ending, they still had a big challenge to overcome together. Let’s not forget the AI who played a big role in their escape.
Meh. This relied heavily on the fact they had been working together for 5 years instead of trying to build any connection or feelings at all. I know this is a short novella but it felt like there was barely any effort but into this lol. Maybe it would have hit harder if I had read other books in this universe but it's supposed to be stand alone so...idk And why would they make this the first book a new holiday alien collection? Again, idk weird choice and barely related to Christmas. Could have been a fun little read but I thought it was flat and luke warm.
This was so good!!! I wished it would’ve been longer and we could see more of their relationship develop. I loved how once Lashe told Anna she was his mate, she kind of doubted it but was open to trying it out.
I really liked their communication, especially Anna telling Lashe that while he knew everything about her (since he has been in love with her and has known she was his mate for 5 years) she didn’t know much about him. I loved how she took time to get to know him more.
I would’ve preferred it if that this was much longer so we could’ve had more developed relationships. Overall, so good!!!
Anna is the Ambassador between Earth and Destran and Lashe is her transport pilot. Anna doesn't know that she is Lashes fated mate and that he loves her. He works very hard for five years to keep that a secret. Little does he realize that she has feelings for him as well. All of that changes when they have trouble in Space and have to land on an asteroid to repair the shuttle. This is an action filled story with wonderful characters (not the least of which is Stelis). I was so happy to get to visit with the Destran's again in this fun Christmas-y story. I loved it!
When I started reading this lovely Christmas tale by Ella Blake I was thrilled to find out that Ann was a character from her Lords of Destra series which just happens to be a favorite of mine!. This tale is about Lashe and Anna on their Christmas trip to the Destra Solas. Of course the trip wasn't smooth and their discovery of each others feelings weren't either!! Grab it sit back balls and enjoy a return to Destra or an introduction to them!!!
This is a short and sweet romance between Anna, the ambassador, and Lashe, the warrior and her pilot. The book stops at about 90 percent unfortunately because it was really starting to form their relationship bond. The book was enjoyable and I would recommend reading it because it was sweet. Oh and Anna’s AI persona was very entertaining. Read On!
Story. The way the author slowly built it up with realistic misunderstandings and miscommunications between the future mated pairing was great. Especially loved the dramatic part. So creative. Only thing i wished was for more of their future. No mention of children and how realistic they would work together since she started off book mentioning how hard it was find time for relationships with her job.
First in this holiday series. It made me want to go back and re-read about the Destrans.
My favorite line: the MMC has been pining after the MFC for five years,
“And you are the most beautiful female I’ve ever laid eyes on. You’re brave. Strong. Incredibly smart. You’re responsible for saving my people, Anna. I look at you and I forget how to talk.”
What a wonderful and different adventure with an alien warrior. I also enjoyed the plot of a predatory asteroid. What an ingenious plotline. They, with the assistance of her AI assistant, rescued themselves and acknowledged their feelings for each other to get their HEA.
I enjoyed Anna and Lashe's story. Lashe has been flying Anna who is the Earth's ambassador to Destran. He takes her everywhere she needs to go but she had no idea Lashe knew she was his mate. The shuttle is damaged and has to land on a planet that is extremely dangerous. Will they make it out in time? Will they agree to complete their mating? Must read to find out.
This is a quick, fun holiday read! I'm really enjoying the holiday novellas this year. I loved the story of Lashe and Anna. I was impressed with the depth of the story, considering it was only a novella. I also liked that the author avoided complete insta -love even with the length. I look forward to reading some more of these short holiday romances.
An exciting, spicy adventure I enjoyed very much. New series to me but I’ll be reading more. Interesting characters, dangerous asteroid and the best happy ending!
Lashe and Anna's story is so sweet and full of romance. I like how they enjoyed Christmas Eve together. Beautifully written and has an awesome rock alien bad guy.
This book was interesting. I liked the characters and the story line was intriguing but it did feel like I was missing something for a lot of the story. I guess because I didn’t know any of the other character and the background story. But overall a good read.
This was an emotional experience that was so interesting and incredible. I fell in love with Lashe from the beginning and was so glad that she did too. I need to find the rest of these fascinating Aliens.
Glad to read more about Destra. Anna is the ambassador from earth to Destra. Lashes flies her ship and has for the last five years. One trip does not go as planned! Enjoy
I’m loving the series Rescued by the Alien Holiday Tails including Lashe by Ella Blake. Lashe has been transporting Ambassador Anna and loving her silently for five years. Now they are heading to see her friends for Christmas on a space station where the Destran reside. All is well until their craft is damaged and they land on an asteroid which turns out to be a giant alien! Then her AI assistant gets sassy, they get to falling in love, and they beat the giant craft eating space alien! Love this book!
