25% helpful, 25% somewhat offensive and/or discomfiting, 50% common sense. I don't think I would like this author if I small-talked with him at a party.

Clearly above many communication books that are out there. I have enjoyed the read. The insights were delivered clearly and it was easy to understand.

Read the book, take the tips laid here and practice. This is the most effective way to obtain results.

THIS IS THE LAST COMMUNICATION/SMALL TALK BOOK THAT I READ. THE TIPS ARE GOOD, BUT MY REALISATION IS THAT WITHOUT PRACTICE AND CLEAR GOALS THEY ARE USELESS. take action!

I really need this book, but when I read it in the past I focused on the one thing I didn’t agree with and never read the book again until four years later. This is a good book but it is not a read it and put it on the shelf. This is a read and practice, review and tweak what you tried the first time that didn’t work so well. Practice until it becomes natural. Read it like you have to teach it to someone else.

Most of it was common knowledge and it was slightly offensive in places, but overall, it was an easy, interesting read

I'm sorry I wasted $8.99 on this book. As people have mentioned in their reviews the majority of this book is common sense and the remaining portion is crude and fairly tasteless. Perhaps Patrick King's other work is worth reading, and that is why I gave the book two stars as opposed to one.

Worth the read for the price

Very good pointers for someone like me who is inexperience in starting and keeping a conversation. I've definitely learned a lot and I'm looking forward to putting some of these tips in to action. I highly recommend this book.

This is a very, very basic introduction to how to have better conversations. Most of the people will find it common sense, but I guess some socially-inexperienced folks will discover a few good pointers.
