Everyone’s fueled by something…

Cassidy Miller was living her dreams as an EMS helicopter pilot saving lives in Arizona but it all came crashing down. Suspended from her job and desperate to escape memories of that night, she jets to Europe and is swept along on a whirlwind world tour of Formula One racing courtesy of her father, an executive sponsor of a team. The last thing she needs is to get involved with a driver, who thrives on risk.

Sexy, daredevil British driver Ronan Hawes has no room in his life for anything but winning. Strategy meetings, press conferences, practices, sponsor events, and racing consume him. Halfway through the season, he’s on track to win the Formula One World Drivers Championship—a title that has eluded him for years—and no emotionally damaged woman, felon father, rookie rival, or rumor mill are going to run him off course.

From Brussels to Abu Dhabi, Texas to Germany, their relationship speeds across the globe, navigating the dangerous turns of life, love and racing.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

There aren’t many romance novels out there about Formula One. So far I’ve found two, one was quite the let down. I’m happy to say that this one blows the other out of the water and into space.

We’re introduced to Cass who is traveling the the world with her father, who is a Formula One sponsor. What we are not told right off the bat, that the reason she’s with her father is because she was involved in a tragic accident that took the life of one of her team members while flying a helicopter.

I was a bit confused at first as to why Cass was so messed up, needed to drink and become drunk in order to just fly on a plane.

Ronan and Cass meet at a bar, with Cass pleasantly drunk. They chat for a bit and decide to head up to Ronan’s hotel room. They both thought there’d be some sexy fun times, but turns out Cass had too much to drink and ends up sick in the bathroom.

She leaves ashamed and hopes to never see Ronan again.

But she sees him at the track the next day, and this is where the rivalry between Ronan, the sexy British driver and Maddox (I think thats his name!) a sultry, hot tempered Texan starts to heat up. And boy was the drama great! The had lively banter, and it was apparent how much both of them wanted to win the championship. But of course there could only be one winner!

Ronan and Cass start a rocky relationship, there’s hot sex, and tense moments, with each not wanting to reveal too much about their past. They would rather focus on the present, afraid the past will come back to haunt them.

Cass was so broken, she thought she was coping with her tragedy by drinking. But when she meets Ronan, she finds a new way to cope. Sex with him is amazing, best she’s ever had. But not only are they sexually attracted to each other, there is a definite connection between the two of them. They care for one another whether or not they want to admit it or not.

The racing aspect of the novel was very well done! It felt as if I were in the paddocks myself and could hear the roar of the engine. And it was accurate! The qualifying, practices, testing and the tracks! There were real F1 tracks in there and it just made me even more happy.

Their relationship is not all sexy times and roses. They have their ups and downs, Cass is unwilling to seek help for the issues she has developed since the accident, and Ronan is unable to put anything put Formula One first in his life, as well as deal with his father, and the mess that he created.

But they work through everything together, they no longer have to face their demons alone and that was what made the characters that much more real, well rounded and developed. They were fleshed out, had their positive and negative traits. Which was a nice change from all the other New Adult books out there.

I hope to read more of Ronan and Cass’s story! What an amazing novel, an excellent combination of Formula One and romance.

Anyone and everyone who knows me knows that I have had a major addiction to the world of Formula one since I was a little girl. The adrenalin rush, the sound of the amazingly fast cars, and of course those to die for sexy ass drivers! My other passion of course is romance!

So when ever I hear of romance being combined with Formula one I am the first to shout out" Heck yeah I am so there!"

In the world of fast cars and even faster men, there are also the fast woman. In this read we get to meet and see just how fast the heroine Cass goes from broken woman to healed when she falls in to the arms of racing driver Ronan.

Only living life at the fastest and best possible aim is what it's all about for Ronan and no woman especially not Cass is going to steer him away from his goal of being the champion he has always known himself to be. It's racing his heart out, having spectacular sex, taking the win and moving on to the next set of races. But does is his heart really in it to win it, or has his heart taken a turn towards love and happily ever after?

I adored this read from the first page straight through to the end. The characters were brilliantly written, the authors incorporated large amounts of detail on the world of Formula one and so brilliantly it was if I was right there. I could feel the earth moving under my feet as the cars rev up ready to ride, I could hear the crowd go mad and I could taste the victory of each and every race.

The character of Ronan was excellent! I very much enjoyed this look into the life of a Formula one driver, so often I think we forget that our hero's behind the wheel are also human. They hurt, they get angry and they have to face challenges just like we do, they are most certainly not just there just for our entertainment, they drive because they have a passion for racing, and this passion for racing was exquisitely depicted by the authors, I could feel his heart beating faster as the lights light up and I could feel that adrenalin rush as he tears his way towards the finish line.

The character of Cass, broke my heart. I felt really sorry for her and the demons she has to face, but I adored how the authors sent her on a flying 120 mph lap towards regaining her life when she meets Ronan. It showed the character as very realistic as I think we all hit a roadblock in life at some stage the tricky part is getting past it is of course the real problem, but if we can find the speedy road to recovery then it is a win win, but only if you acknowledge the recovery beacon. If you don't then you will never get out of the slump and instead remain in the pits, waiting for a win that will never come.

I am taking away a message of life moves at a uncontrollably fast pace, and if you don't hold on for the ride you will fall behind. Grab the wheel and let go before you know it you will be crossing that ultimate finish line of happiness !

I highly recommend this read for all fans of romance reads with scorching hot passionate nights, kick-ass awesome fast cars and a story of love found in a world of confusion, a totally, thrilling AWESOME read!

I very much look forward to taking another thrilling ride with these authors.

This is one of the few books on Formula One racing and I thoroughly enjoyed the descriptions and explanations of the sport, I felt like I was there. Very real like situations. Cass is traveling with her father a Formula One racing sponsor, she meets Ronan a sexy as hell British Race Car Driver at a bar, he knows Cass is hiding some major issues, although we don't learn to early what the extent of her issues are or why she's traveling with her dad but he's not sure he wants to get involved with her. Ronan and Cass are hot as hell together although their "relationship" didn't start out that way...Ronan is very focused he will not let anything or anyone stand in his way of winning. I enjoyed his character, although sometimes he was overly cocky or too sexy for his own good but he's also a emotional and caring person too. I thought the story was good, I enjoyed Ronan and Cass's relationship and what really happened with Cass, I felt for her and wanted her happy. Very exciting racing story with a emotional background. Enjoyed the characters and the over all story. 4 stars review by Nanee at upallnightreadallday.blogspot.com

How fun to have two of my favorite contemporary authors collaborate on a book together. I was eager to see if I could figure out who wrote what. Here's my guess...Ms. Craven led us through London, Venice, and the many other great international cities in this book. And I can definitely detect the hand of Ms. Cross in the sex scenes! If you've read her books, you know that she does those REALLY, REALLY WELL.

Ronan and Cass engage you from the first page. They come from very different worlds, but they both have insecurities and demons that drive them. In other words, they're human beings like the rest of us, not cardboard characters. Each is flawed, but as they find solace and then love in each other, they are made better and more complete. And isn't that what we all hope for, not just in a book but in life? I loved Ignited, and look forward (yes? hopefully?)to more collaborations between these two.

Right off the bat I didn't really get Cassidy and Ronan's attraction/chemistry. Cassidy was a self-medicating mess who drank too much. It's an issue that was pointed out on just about every page. Cassidy was a helicopter pilot and something she did killed a member of her crew (it was an accident). She does eventually get therapy; but it took the whole book. I did enjoy Formula One racing as a backdrop.
Most likely will not be reading the next since I didn't particularly care for Maddux and the synopsis doesn't grab me.

Cassidy Miller has experienced a trauma on the job as a pilot and her career in the future is uncertain. She takes some of her time off to travel with her semi-estranged wealthy father around the Formula One circuit. Ronan Hawes is an F1 driver who is set up to be a serious contender during this racing season. He is incredibly focused and has little time for anything besides racing. Cassidy and Ronan don't seem like people in a place to start a relationship, but they keep being drawn to one another.

This was a strange reading experience for me because I didn't feel particularly connected to either main character. Both have a lot of personal issues and challenges that have caused them to put up some emotional walls and remain fairly disconnected from others in general. I think in reading this I felt the emotional distance from them as characters throughout, but it sort of helped me feel that i could understand them a little better because of it. The sexual chemistry they share is undeniable, but I was unsure whether they would be able to really find a way to be together given the issues that they each faced, and the challenges they had to overcome. I think because of their unlikely pairing and the way that they both had to go through a lot of personal growth, I appreciated them and stayed engaged in the story. I think it is always an interesting experience to read about people that aren't like me, and I found myself hoping that these characters would be able to make it work and find the love they both deserve. 3.5 stars.

Ronan Hawes is a Formula 1 driver who is not only challenging for the championship, but dealing with his father’s criminal past. Cassidy Miller is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder following a helicopter crash. She was the pilot and blames herself for the death of one of her colleagues. She turns to alcohol to cope with the PTSD until Ronan helps her, standing beside her even during difficult circumstances.

As a keen Formula 1 fan, I was really excited to read this book. I wasn’t disappointed. Although the author didn’t stick strictly to the F1 schedule, and some details were a bit off, it didn’t detract from the story. And if you’re not a race fan, don’t worry, the core of this book is a truly great romance.

I really enjoyed the chemistry between these two characters and loved the fact that although Ronan was a hot-shot super-star he was still down to earth. I loved the way he stood by Cassidy even when things got difficult for him. But when Ronan has to choose between winning and her, it seems the relationship is doomed.

This is a great, sexy read, sure to please both the race fan and those who have never seen a Formula 1 car in their life. Four and a half stars but I round up.

Sport Romance books aren’t normally my thing, but anything Formula One and my eyes light up, mix the excitement rush of hearing the The Chain by Fleetwood Mac (BBC1 F1 theme tune), books and I am in Heaven. I came to reading High Octane: Ignited with an open mind wondering if it would be truly about F1 or just racing in general. I was pleasantly surprised. Ronan is the classic F1 driver personified. Perhaps a old style British driver from the era of James Hunt living life on the very edge both on and off the track comes to mind – playboy and speed demon. Cassidy shows more depth than the beautiful arm candy girlfriends they occasionally focus the cameras on during a race weekend. High Octane was a great read, lots of layers than made it much more that simply a sport romance book – Cassidy having to work through her guilt over the accident, was there something she could have done differently to change its outcome and then Ronan torn between wanting to have the best car to aid his burning desire to be champion or put safety first. A perfect week to release such a book especially as its the weekend of Monaco Grand Prix. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Review High Octane: Ignited

In an attempt to distance herself from recent traumatic events, Cassidy Miller accompanies her father to Europe, hoping she might lose her ghosts somewhere on the Formula One circuit.

Handsome and successful, Ronan Hawes is the skilled British driver with his eyes fixed firmly on the prize. This is definitely his year.

Love is the last thing on either of their minds.

I have to say, when I first received this ARC, I wasn't sure it'd be my cup of tea. Formula One racing is much more my hubby's thing than mine. To me, it's nothing more than loud, irritating droning coming from the TV on a Sunday afternoon...or morning!

I don't want to give anything away, but let's just say that this book is a very entertaining read containing some truly scorching love scenes. Together, Rachel and Ashlinn have produced a seamless story focusing on the love affair of two very 'real', and extremely likable, MC's.

The authors haven't made a F1 convert out of me yet, but even so, I'm hoping there will soon be another release in this excellent series.

Va-va-Vrooooom!

I really liked the relationship between Cassie and Ronan. Cassie is a strong independent woman who has experienced a life altering tragedy and is coping the only way she knows how. Ronan is at the top of his career, but past family issues are pressing down on him. Together they are learning to lean on one another and realize they can't do it all by themselves. They are two mature adults that are drawn together and immediately the sparks fly. I did feel like Cassie and Ronan's romance started off quickly and had a hard time seeing the depth of their relationship. It was mostly physical in the beginning. As the story progressed you see that their connection is not only physical, but that they have become friends and confidants. There is no major problem that has you screaming, "Don't do that!" while hiding behind your eyes. There is a slight misunderstanding, but I feel the angst in this story is believable, and handled in a mature manner. If you like lots of steamy-ness with your stories, this is the right one for you. Steamy-ness is high and frequent. While the story was a little too steamy for me at times, the pace was great and it held my attention.

I'll admit that Formula One isn't something that I know much about. But in no way did that hinder me from enjoying High Octane: Ignited! The thing that I enjoyed the most about this book (besides the amazing writing!) was that the romance was never cut and dry. There were ups and downs to it that made it seep with reality and drew me in that much more.

The characters of Ronan and Cassidy were brilliantly done. If you're looking for Mary-Sues, you won't find them here. Cassidy was someone that I softened to immediately. Her story is heartbreaking, and I was rooting for her from the start. Like I mentioned before, their story isn't cut and dry. But it was a memorable and enjoyable one.

The level of detail that these two authors pay to the setting and characters is outstanding. It really brought the story to life. Even if you've never heard of Formula One like me, you will love this story! It's the perfect balance of finding your own way in life and meeting the one that you can't live without!

This was a Fun Hot read! I have always been a fan of Formula One racing and of course romance books, so I was very excited when I saw this book and couldn't wait to read it. I loved the fact that both the hero and heroine were flawed and strong! Both had demons to slay and everything to lose.

Cassidy is a EMS Helicopter Pilot and Ronan is a British F1 driver, they both thrive in high pressure situations, but do not deal well when circumstances threaten to take all they have worked so hard for. They are able to find comfort and distraction in each other, but also complications that could threaten them from ever being happy.

I enjoyed the book and was anxious to see where it all was going to end up. If you like a fast-paced book with vibrant characters, I recommend High Octane: Ignited!

I received this book from GoodReads giveaways, so here is my review:

To be honest, I really didn't expect much from this book. Glad it was that way, because it allowed me to be surprised. It's not a masterpiece, but it was highly entertaining, especially because of the uncommon theme, the world of Formula One. I can't say I know anything about this theme, but that didn't put me off in any way, it just kept me wanting for more. The characters seemed realistic, specially the female lead, with all their troubles and situations to overcome.

This was a pretty good novel that kept me entertained for a few hours, I wish there was more.

I loved this book! I couldn't get enough! Page after page I just couldn't put this book down. I loved Cassidy! She is amazing. Ronan is well... He is super sexy and I couldn't get enough.

I loved the characters. I liked the car aspect. I have read a lot of books but none about the car circuit. I really enjoyed the dialogue and relationships between the characters. The characters were really easy to relate to. I found myself completely emerged in this read. A great read that I highly recommend.

I can never refuse a sports romance especially if it involves a sport that I love. So here's a Formula One romance to feast my senses on. Not to mention that I was reading this while the 2014 Shanghai GP qualis was blaring on the telly.

I am a fan of F1 and this book really took me by surprise. The combination of racing and romance and the two characters Ronan an Cassy is worth every minute reading. As a man I am not used to romance but this book took my breath away. Cassy and Ronans intense relationship make you sweat.
