Trust no one. Love no one. Because if you do, everything comes crashing down.
I depend on no one but myself. But what happens when I’m so deep in a spiral of self-destruction that I can’t do that anymore?
Now, I’ve messed up big time. I’m drowning in a storm of pain, and Stone has been ordered to stop me from screwing up again.
He’s been given the freedom to control every aspect of my life, and no matter how much of a badass bitch I’ve become, I can’t stop him. Every icy glare, every word from his arrogant mouth challenges me, but his touch sparks heat I can’t ignore. Fate has forced us together—whether I’m ready or not.
But Stone isn’t just a sexy, powerful wolf shifter; he’s also Fae, and I’m soon at his mercy in Faery, a place as beautiful and lethal as him.
And there is no escape.
Stone
Shannon is mine and I will protect her with every part of my dark heart.
I’m a lethal wolf shifter and warrior and I’m not known for softness or empathy.
Shannon is the most infuriating, sexy, and damaged woman I have ever known. It’s true that she’s taken the brunt of my sparkling personality over the years. I love to hate her. Now we are a disaster waiting to happen because our toxic relationship must end when we are forced to face our demons head-on.
To stop Shannon’s spiral into self-destruction, I take her to the one place I know she’ll never be able to escape me. Faery.
It’s a risk worth taking if it means she can overcome her addictions and find peace. Except, peace of any kind is fragile and can easily shatter, especially when our enemies hunt us.
But I’ll slay every monster in Faery, even my father, to keep her safe.

I have pinned over getting Shannon and Stone’s story since the beginning of Shadow Sentinels. The tension and chemistry these two had was electric and just waiting to pop.
Which is why I highly, highly recommend reading it with the other books. The story is so full of high action, angst, drama and spice. Plus the amount of secondary characters creates such an immense world full of complexity, pack, the greatest found family trope and camaraderie.
My heart went out to Shan in this book. She’s always been such a strong, bad@$$ character that it hurt to see her break. But Stone…🥹…he’s always been the strong silent type but he stepped up and fought for Shan when she really truly needed him most.
I love how this book took us into the world of Fae. It was a very beautifully detailed world and I hope we get to return there again for the sassy Blue and Ventry.
A m/f shifter/fae dark fantasy romance.
Dual POVs told in first person
Main couple - Shannon - alpha wolf shifter female Stone - alpha fae/wolf shifter
Spice - 🥵 only soul mates can bring after years of denying their true feelings
Shannon and Stone’s story is finally here! I was excited for this one and it didn’t disappoint.
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this side of Stone. He wasn’t only a deadly lethal predator but he was also a loving and sweet protector. I also liked learning more about his past and Shannon’s as well.
Shannon had quite a story and past that helps us understand her better. I enjoyed the softer tone the story took.
There was also more about the fae world and other characters that I’m excited to read about later.
Tropes in this one were; hurt/comfort, alpha fae wolf MMC, fierce wolf shifter FMC, banter, praise kink, self worth, discovering oneself, healing, tragic past, touch him/her and x, forced proximity, tension, second chance, soul mates, and more!
While I didn’t care for the direction that Shannon’s character went at all. I understand it -
I just didn’t expect her to not care about her abilities at all and chose to pursue a different route where she could choose to be a follower rather than a leader.
That being said I did love how stone helped her heal etc. I just felt that she lost some of herself in the end… or perhaps that wasn’t herself at all I just was hoping Shannon would challenge stone more so they would be more equal.
In the end I don’t feel like they were on equal footing even after she recovers
If you love Fae and shifter romances you will love this book about two shifters who were totally screwed up by their fathers who were monsters in more ways than one. Will they work through their problems with the help of their friends? A good part is this is a stand alone book that will be enhanced by reading other Karen Tomlinson books because she uses the same characters over and over so you get to know them.

I throughly enjoyed this fae and shifter romance. Shannon is a great fmc who is struggling and so finds herself at the mercy of Stone a wolf shifter and warrior who takes her to Faery. It’s an exciting read, gripping, intense and the author had me hooked from start to finish as we follow this incredible couple down their dark path. The world building is incredible and descriptive and draws you in close as together they face their demons and enemies and try to find a hea.
This book was absolutely amazing. Shannon and Stone’s chemistry is off the charts and both with personal demons to slay. The ups and downs, twists and turns will keep you engaged from start to finish.
