Moonstone: The Battle Begins

Rate this book
In ancient times, cats were bestowed with special powers to balance and preserve order for all life on Earth. Kept secret from humans, these powers were forgotten as time went on and cats became more spoiled and pampered; until one day an evil witch plots to steal these forgotten secrets in a wicked plan to overtake Mother Nature. Only a few select breeds can reclaim and harness their powers to unite and defeat the witch – and the key to their success is the most powerful of their lineage, a Moonstone named Scarlet.

Imprisoned along with the other sought after breeds, Scarlet helplessly watches as the witch steals each cat’s power, one by one. Scarlet and the others must find a way to communicate and help her mate, Bijou, rescue them and unlock their powers from the witch’s evil spell. Finding assistance from a few animals he meets along the way, Bijou embarks on an epic journey to reunite himself with Scarlet and join forces with the others to thwart the witch’s evil plan and save the world.

This is a truly remarkable book, told from the point of view of cats and other animals which have very human qualities. I think if it were to be adapted it would work as animated or live action. From what I can tell, it’s part of a series, while this is the only one that’s been released thus far.
