All I ever wanted was to become a surgeon. But life had other plans, thrusting me into a war zone—quite literally. Instead of being saved by a prince charming, I ended up saving a certain silver-eyed devil. What I didn’t anticipate was getting so entangled in his life that I forgot my own. Every action carries its own price. And now it was time for me to settle mine.
Him

Content Warning 16+ Standalone Reckless Mafia Series Book 1
“The sight of her milky skin made Mr. Lorenzo Junior bounce excitedly, but much to my dismay, I had to push away those sinful thoughts for now. Just be patient buddy.”
"Because he became my breath. In that moment, he became my oxygen."
Once I had this book, I quickly read it despite being busy. There is a mafia guy, Lorenzo, who is at war with Russians after they stole his family's rare diamonds. Our girl wants to be a surgeon but can not continue her education because of financial reasons, and she is an orphan.
Simple. Right?
Nope.
Reckless Games differs from many mafia books I've read because of the intense/ strong portrayal of both characters. Despite having a rough background, broken dreams, and false hope, Angelo grows up to be a strong woman, powerful and meant to be Loernzo's Queen. She is a beauty only to admire from afar, and he is the ruthless King whose eyes you can not meet. Lorenzo and Angela are the perfect pieces in their missing puzzles.
One night after his father passed away, Lorenzo finds himself at war with his uncle, where he gets injured and meets Angela. She saves his life by getting him admitted to a hospital. Since year, Lorenzo kept an eye on her and her whereabouts. At the same time, Angelo knew nothing except his eye color and names. They both yearned for each other until they met again after one eventful event. Because of an expected fire in her apartment, she has no choice but to stay with Lorenzo. They become closer, falling in love. After an attack on his mansion by a Russian Mafia leader, they come to Sicily. He proposes to her with one of the ninth rare diamond pieces stolen from his family by the Russians. One night, she gets kidnapped, and it turns out she is a mole planted by the Russians.
Everything about this book was calm and needed for me.
Lorenzo Martinez became the Don of the Sicilian Mafia after his father passed. Now the most powerful man in Italy he must gain control of his father's empire and prevent people from trying to outmaneuver him during the change in leadership. He is ruthless, cunning, resourceful, intimidating, and heartless. He demands respect and rules his empire with an iron fist, one wrong move and it cost you dearly.
Angela is a beautiful, sweet girl who wanted to be a surgeon but had to drop out due to a lack of money. After the place she worked at was destroyed, she now works at a diner and lives in the home her parents left her in their will. Her life hasn't always been easy, but she tries her best to make it work with what she has.
When I say the twist in this book I mean THE TWIST IN THE BOOK, I did not see it coming at all. I was so shocked and blindsided I had to reread it a few times to process what I was reading. This story is intense leaving nothing to be desired and I love it. I love the romance that blossoms between Lorenzo and Angela and of course dramatic Emily in all her glory. It's a fantastic mafia romance that goes straight into the action and immerses the reader in the mafia world from the very beginning. If you love morally black MMCs and strong FMCs with spice and romance this book is for you.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
One of the wildest scenes? He literally fired a bullet at his own man just for interrupting her. That’s how powerful her presence is—when she talks, the world stops. No matter how urgent the situation, it can wait.
But the female main character (FMC) lost some points for me. She just nods along to everything—even after confessions like “I killed a person” or “I saw you kill”—just more nodding. It got repetitive and diluted her character’s strength. Be ready for a plot twist she might have joined hands with his enemy And be ready for second lead syndrome
The writing style just wasn’t for me—while it’s not bad by any means, it didn’t quite click with me personally. I also felt the story lacked some depth, and there were moments that didn’t feel entirely believable. The ending, in particular, seemed rushed and left me wanting more closure. Overall, it was okay, but not something I’d revisit.
