The beginning of this book grabbed my attention. I think this might be my favorite Ivy Davis book. Plus I just knew it would be a fun ride with these two characters.
Not sure if this book is supposed to be a romcom or I've read so much dark romance this year that I have a twisted sense of humor. But Aurora and her inner monologues were so funny. Especially when she was plotting her revenge and all the ways she could get the job done.
Nico not wanting to watch the Titanic because "the boat sinks at the end" was so real 🤣.
Beatrice was something else, a whole mess and just plain crazy.
This whole book was a wild ride, it was predictable but not predictable at the same time. But a common theme with this author's books is the Mafia men forget how to Mafia. There is no way a Mafia don would punch a police officer, in front of witnesses 😅, especially when one of those witnesses is the officers armed partner. Nor would he just fire people who have so much dirt on him.
I'm giving this book 4 stars. I enjoyed it enough to finish it in a day, but wished the ending was fleshed out more. The book needed to be longer and I wished we got more of Nico's POVs.
Aurora is forced into a revenge plot against Nico after the murder of her father, but to get close she has to marry him. But will Nico show her a different side to the monster she believes he is? Or will she continue with her plan to end him? Well written, engaging slow burning violence, drama and more
Ruthless King, the first book in The Mancini Mafia series by Ivy Davis, is an explosive dive into a world where love and vengeance are locked in a deadly dance. This high-stakes romance pulls you in from the first page with its intense conflict and keeps you hooked with the emotional depth of its characters.
Nico Mancini, the man our protagonist is supposed to kill, is far more complex than the monster she initially believes him to be. As the layers of his character are revealed, you find yourself questioning what makes a villain and a hero, much like our heroine. Nico is ruthless and dangerous, yet there's an undeniable allure to him that makes you understand why she can't resist falling for him. His presence dominates the pages, bringing a captivating mix of power and vulnerability.
The protagonist’s inner turmoil is the heart of the story—her desire for vengeance is powerful, but so is the undeniable attraction she feels for Nico. The emotional battle she wages between wanting to kill the man who destroyed her family and giving in to her feelings for him is gripping. Davis does a fantastic job portraying the push and pull of her conflicting emotions, making her struggle raw and real.
The tension between the two characters is palpable, both in terms of their chemistry and the danger that constantly surrounds them. Every interaction between them feels like a tightrope walk, where love, betrayal, and death are always just one misstep away. It's a thrilling dynamic that keeps you on edge, never sure whether their story will end in love or blood.
Ivy Davis has crafted a dark, seductive world where the lines between enemy and lover blur, and Ruthless King delivers all the intensity, suspense, and passion you could want from a mafia romance. If you're a fan of stories where emotions run high and nothing is as simple as it seems, this book is a must-read.

An excellent story which was well written full of drama, suspense, intrigue and romance with a bit of action mixed in as well as a happy ending that brings everything together. A story about a young woman and a mafia boss falling in love and the death of the young woman's father as well as what happened to her father’s killer. At the beginning the young woman listens to her aunt about who murdered her father. The young woman marries the mafia boss but the marriage is only for convenience and not for love. At this time the mafia boss also has some problems with the police trying to pin crimes on him. The mafia boss’s second and personal guard doesn’t like the young woman and soon she gets the personal guard fired. The aunt still wants the mafia boss dead but the young woman knows that she can’t go through with it. The young woman and the mafia boss find out that they love one another. Not long after the couple goes through several problems with family as well as with other people. The lies that the young woman told were found out. Even after all the lies were brought to light the couple still wanted to be with one another but others tried to break them apart with false information to the police to have the mafia boss arrested but even after that they stayed together. At the end several people came up dead and the couple left the country starting their own family. The couple was happy and in love.

This is the first book in the Mancini Mafia series. Aurora was a virgin bride and she was seeking revenge for her father’s death. Thanks to her aunt, they figure out who killed her father (Nico Mancini) and concoct a plan to marry him. At first sight, Nico is taken with Aurora. He is gentle and kind towards her and does not force her to do anything she is not ready for. (Not a typical killer!)
Bring in Nico’s 2nd in Command, Andrew and you have someone who doesn’t trust Aurora – she is too clean for his liking and knows she is hiding something. Nico refuses to see this and grows closer to Aurora. Aurora starts to have feelings for Nico, and no longer wants to kill him. But her aunt is adamant that she kills him.
The truth comes out and Nico is torn at what he should do – he actually loves her and wants to be with her, but he can’t trust her. Leaving for a few days, he leaves Andrew in charge and Andrew doesn’t take care of her, when Nico returns he is angry and fires Andrew. Nico finds out that Aurora was hiding a secret and is hurt, but then is arrested for the murder of her father.
Will Aurora and Nico be able to be together, or will Andrew ruin everything for them? Great story and characters. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Ruthless King by Ivy Davis had a promising plot that instantly drew me in, but I couldn’t help feeling that its potential wasn’t fully realized. The idea of a mafia arranged marriage is always exciting, and this one started off interesting, but as I kept reading, I found some problems that took away from the story.
One major issue I noticed was the repetition throughout the book. Several phrases appeared multiple times across different chapters, which broke the flow. For instance, the phrase "I should be asking you that" was used in chapters 8, 10, and 11, which felt redundant and pulled me out of the story.
MMC was also a bit perplexing. Despite being portrayed as a mafia boss, he often seemed isolated and lonely, which didn’t quite align with the image of someone who should have power and a tight-knit network. FMC suffered a few too many injuries for my liking, which began to feel excessive.
That said, it was still an enjoyable, fast-paced read. Despite its flaws, I found myself turning the pages quickly and liking the ride it took me on.

This is the 1st story in The Mancini Mafia Series. We see how Aurora’s life is changed in a moment when her father is killed and her Aunt has her making decisions she never thought possible. Ruthless King was a major letdown for me and will likely be my first and last read by this author. The world-building felt weak, and the romance was practically non-existent. The lack of research was glaring, especially when it came to the mafia elements. Nico, the supposed mafia boss, didn’t come across as believable at all. The author treated the mafia like it was just a typical 9 to 5 job, where people could be hired and fired as if they worked in an office. That’s just not how it works in the mafia world. The antagonists were also too easy to figure out, which took away any sense of suspense or intrigue. Overall, I didn’t find the story worth the read, and I was left feeling disappointed.

Aurora's father has just been murdered and her aunt says that Nico Mancini is the murderer and that she must convince him to marry her so she can kill him for revenge. Aurora is very innocent and while she wants to revenge her father's murder, she wants proof that Nico actually killed her father. There are several bad people in this story, but I do not think that Nico is one of them. As Aurora spends time with him, she begins to feel that he is innocent and begins to fall in love with him. There are many twists and turns and my ONLY complaint about this story is that it was rushed to a conclusion at the end. I can't wait to see what the next story in this series holds for Nico and Aurora in their life of exile.

Aurora was a regular daughter to a rich man until the day she comes home to find her father shot and dead. It is only then that she begins to learn of his mafia ties. Word on the street is that Mafia Boss Nico Mancini is searching for a wife, so Aurora’s aunt hatches the “perfect” plan to get the revenge on the person she assumes happened to her brother/ Aurora’s father.
This quick love story was filled with a ton of action-packed events trying to pull them apart from his men, from her aunt and from the police that discovered Aurora’s father’s body. Just when you think that you have everything figured out, a twist comes along and soon you are cheering on Aurora and Nico!
I received this ARC from the author. This is my honest review.
You can't go wrong with a book from Ivy Davis. She had several Mafia series and I have enjoyed each one.
Mafia Age Gap Arranged Marriage
Nico is a Mafia man. Aurora is a Mafia princess. Aurora is an pure person in sevearl ways. Her father sheltered her and she is untouched. Her aunt sent her to marry and end Nico for the murder of her father. (I think it was her aunt that ended her father, let's continue to read to find out.)
Will Aurora take care of Nico like her aunt demands? Who actually ended her father? What will Nico say when he finds out she is not who she says she is? Will she become pregnant? What will Nico do about the one who actually ended her father? Let's finish reading to find out!

Ruthless King is book 1 in The Mancini Mafia and is Aurora Costa and Nico Mancini's story. Aurora is thrown completely under the bus from the very beginning of this story. Her aunt is unbelievable and uses Aurora for her own gains. Nico is going to be the target and Aurora's aunt will stop at nothing to achieve what she wants. Ruthless King is intense as is everything I've read by this author and will keep you on the edge of your seat from the start right up to the end. This couple is on fire together and though their journey didn't start out in the most conventional way they do find a beautiful HEA. Ruthless King is a great start to this new series.
Aurora comes home to find her father murdered. Her Aunt Beatrice tells her that Nico Mancini is the one who murdered him, and it is Aurora's duty to seduce Nico and kill him. But can she do this without proof that Nico actually was the murderer?
I liked this book for the most part, with lots of action and the mystery of who committed the murder. It was really hard for me to accept how clueless and naive Aurora was, allowing her aunt to manipulate her. She finally toughens up at the end and gets her HEA.

The title of the book is ruthless King a mafia arranged marriage. The only one in this book whose ruthless is the aunt for a Mafia book it's pretty lame. The situations are so silly if he's a mafia King you think he would certainly have the resources to check out a chosen bride. The story and the situation could have been good but it was like reading a comic book it was so silly. The writing and the editing was good and the story could have been good it was just so juvenile. I picked the book because of the title so you would think that the authors know that this is what their readers really want. So why pull a switch and bait.
This is a poignant story of Aurora Costa and Nico Mancini. She suffers a great loss and is then deceived by someone who she thought loved her. Aurora is forced into a revenge scheme by that person to take out Nico Mancini. Unfortunately he’s her husband. This is a Mafia story with murder, intrigue, lies, secrets and double dealings. It also has a possessive and protective MMC with an innocent and beautiful MFC.

This story is set against the backdrop of Mafia intrigue. After suffering a devastating loss, Aurora is betrayed by someone she believed loved her, only to be manipulated into a revenge scheme targeting her own husband, Nico.
Filled with murder, secrets, and double-crosses, this Mafia romance keeps you on edge with its twists and dark undertones. Nico is a fiercely protective and possessive male lead, while Aurora embodies innocence and beauty, caught in a dangerous web of lies and betrayal. A gripping story of love, loyalty, and deceit.
This is my first book by Ivy Davis that I have read. The story starts off with Aurora's father being killed. Her Aunt shows up and say this man done it you need to kill him. It's alot of back and forth between her and her aunt. Aurora is conflicted and she can't kill the man. Over the whole book not once do you see the man being "ruthless" in anyway. There's no "mafia" inside the story. Just that he owns said mafia and her father supposely was the L.A. Mafia. I was very dissappointed in this book.

A great story as Auro's life is turned upside down when her father is murdered. Her crazy Aunt Beatrice told her it was Nico Mancini who murdered my father and a revenge plot is started. A captivating story as she works her way into his life, his bed and seeks to learn his secrets. Did her really murder her father? Secrets, lies and a romance that neither expects as Nico vows to protect her, but never love her. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a g00d first book in this series. The characters are both unsure of the place in this world, but together they find that they are all that they need. They come together as an arranged marriage, but for different reasons, Aurora because she thinks he killed her father, and Nico because he wants a wife and children, something to make his life mean something. Together they come thur the fires of revenge, hate, and betrayal, to come out on the other side and their love remains strong and true.
OH WOW!!! This was steamy page turner and the suspense was too intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. These characters were sexual attract to each other. And the physical attraction was spicy hotness. She was post to kill him but she never thought that she would have fallen in love with him in this moment. Will he find out the truth about her motive at this time. Will he try to put hit on her life because she was so desperately desire to him. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones

Based on the description, this book had a lot of potential. Unfortunately, I found the writing immature, repetitive, and full of spelling/grammatical errors. It also felt extremely rushed. The reader has no time to get to know the characters, especially the two main characters, or how they are in the predicament they are in.
Aurora's whole world turned upside down when he father was killed. Her aunt decides Aurora needs to go after the person who killed him and get revenge. She learns that Nico Mancini, her supposed father's killer, is looking for a wife, and her aunt gets Aurora on the list of potential brides. When she is able to convince Nico that she will make a good wife, her internal strife begins. Will she be able to kill him and get the revenge her aunt wants? Or will he win her heart? What starts as a marriage of convenience becomes anything but. Enjoy.
I voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book.
Out For Revenge Aurelia’s Aunt tells her that Nico killed her father, but did he? In order to get close enough to kill she joins a meeting of prospective brides and Nico picks her. She should be thrilled making her steps closer to her goal but she finds she likes him, she’s even craving being around him. Did he cause her father’s death or is she just a pawn in a bigger scheme by her Aunt. And what will Nico do when he finds out her true identity?!
Another amazing page turner from Ivy Davis. This well written story hooked me from the start and the intense suspense and unexpected twist and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down and finished it in a day. A great start to a new series. I can't wait to read more. Definitely recommend reading.

This is the first book in the Mancini Mafia series. Aurora is a virgin innocent woman seeking to avenge her father’s death. Nico mafia ruthless Dom is looking for a wife and the mother of is children, he doesn'thave time for romance, an arranged marriage is the perfect option. Can they overcome all the secrets and have a HEA.

Very clickbait, which is something I really don’t mind in mafia books but in this book, nothing took it’s time to develop. Everything was happening too fast and I don’t mean it in a ‘fast paced’ kinda of way, I mean it in at least give the woman two pages of grief before moving on to the next plot point?
Good read tho. The romance was sweet and I liked how he wasn’t abusive to her at any point in the book, even with the betrayal, and still morally gray.
The world she knew was shattered when her father was killed. Thrown into a world, his world, she knew nothing about. Aurora has to play pretend to get close to Nico, a Mafia king, to avenge her Father. But things are always what them seem, lines get blurred, and truths come out. Even the most brutal seem to have a heart.
