**Finished notes: mostly these didn't work for me, but hard to complain about a charity boxed set. Glad to get it off my unread shelf finally.
I am going to add reviews as I read things because this set is so long and there's no way I'm reading straight through.
I Only Have Eyes for You by Belle Andre, previously read
On a Night Like This by Barbara Freethy, 2/5 stars
Firefighters! And I liked that part and also the unresolved dysfunctional relationship between Sara and her dad, but on the whole, I was mostly just bored while reading. Sometimes Freethy works great for me and sometimes she doesn't. Unfortunately, this was one of the latter times.
May Day by Heather Graham, did not read
Shopping for a Billionaire by Julia Kent, 2/5 stars
I can see why some people find this funny, but it's not a sense of humor that works for me. I'd be vaguely curious about the next book in the series since it's a continuation of this one, but since the reviews assure me that it's written in the same style, I think I will pass.
Built to Last by Susan Mallery, did not finish
I don't know where this book is set, but it's sure as hell not Madison, Wisconsin.
A Baby of Her Own by Brenda Novak, did not finish
Dare to Love by Carly Phillips, previously read
Executive Seduction by Jennifer Probst, no rating given
I finished this but forgot to make any notes, so it would not be fair to give it a star rating.
In Too Deep by RaeAnne Thayne, 2.5/5 stars
I probably would have given this three, because I mostly liked it and westerns aren't usually my thing, but unexpectedly throwing two kids for adoption on your spouse in an epilogue??? Hell no.
Fourteen Authors in one boxed set and all proceeds from the sale of A Sweet Life will be donated to the Diabetes Research Institute via Brenda Novak's Online Auction for Diabetes Research. An amazing collection of of novels and long novellas for an amazing price.
I Only Have Eyes For You by Bella Andre (The Sullivans)
The first I have read by this author. Sophie, the youngest Sullivan has loved Jake McCann since she was a child. Jake has never felt good enough for Sophie. Sophie takes a chance on one night, but can she convince Jake they belong together? I loved this story, and can't wait to read more!
On A Night Like This by Barbara Freethy (Callways #1) Another new to me author that I can't wait to read more of. The Callways are an Irish family of (mostly) firefighters in San Francisco. Aiden Callway took a different path as a firefighter but is back in town after tragically losing his best friend. The loss is leading him to question his career choice and leadership abilities, as well as his memories of Kyle's death. Sara was the girl next door and his sister's best friend. Sara has her own problems to figure out and has come back to San Francisco to see her estranged father. Thrown back together, the two lean on each other to while they look for the answers they need.
May Day! By Heather Graham Another first time read that I was a little lukewarm about. The story was good, but I felt a little like I missed something. Members of the Krewe of Hunters team plan a relaxing vacation to jolly old London for the English celebration--they never figured that a May Pole just might be murder.
Shopping for a Billionaire by Julia Kent A fun introduction to another author that had me laughing out loud at the situations Shannon got into or was surrounded by. Her friends/co-workers and her Mom provided additional comic relief. It made me think twice about trying to be a mystery shopper. I still can't believe Shannon met Declan..in the men's room.
Built to Last by Susan Mallery
I liked Marissa and Aaron. Both had tragedy in their lives, but Marissa channeled hers into the positive by giving back as much as she could. Aaron tried to hide from life, until Marissa decides he needs saving. Mallery does not disappoint with this wonderful read.
A Baby of Her Own by Brenda Novak I have read most of Novak's Whiskey Creek series, and now it looks like I will have to look into more of her Dundee, Idaho series. Delaney is a 30-year-old virgin in the small town of Dundee. Prospects are slim, especially since she grew up with all the men. She wants a baby, and decides to take matters into her own hands, never expecting her one-night stand to show up in Dundee with plans to stay a while!
Take Me, Cowboy by Jane Porter Of the 14 authors and stories in the set, this is the only one I have already read. It was an amazing read! After being jilted at the alter, the las person Jenny Wright wants to see is her high school crush and current hometown hero, bull riding champ Colton Thorpe. Colton rescues a damsel in distress, and he finds himself wanting to spend more time with Jenny.
Dare to Love by Carly Phillips
Riley Taylor is Ian Dare's half-brother's best friend, but sparks fly when they first meet. Ian has control and trust issues, as well as issues with his father's other family, so combined with Riley's trust issues, they have to work hard find their happily ever after. The characters were well written and extremely believable, but Ian was a little to dominant for me to really love this story.
Executive Seduction by Jennifer Probst After a betrayal by her father, Chandler Santell walked away from the corporate world and found peace and happiness opening a Yoga center. Unfortunately, to stay open, she needs Logan Grant to agree to give her Corporate employee stress relief program a shot. Logan, who worked hard and did whatever it took for his success, finds himself agreeing to give Chandler a chance. The two work hard to overcome their individual pasts to learn to love and trust each other. I loved both characters and enjoyed this story.
In Too Deep by RaeAnne Thayne Will Tanner goes home to Wyoming to recover from a gun shot wound. Will lost his wife and unborn son when he refused to take a bribe, and was shot. During his search for revenge, he not only almost lost his life, but he lost his connection to his daughter. He takes a temporary job as sheriff filling in for a friend, marking time until he can go home and bring his wife's killer to justice. Andrea McPhee also ended up in Wyoming to recover. Instead of marking time, Andie has found a home and has embraced the small town, the people, and life in it as they have her. When Will's sister, who is Andie's best friend, decides he needs his own place, she convinces both that Andie's guesthouse would be the perfect solution. Andie and Will fight their attraction, as old hurts run deep. I found myself rooting for these two, with huge emotions wrung from me. A great read!
Every Girl Does It by Rachel Van Dyken A novella that was a quick read. Amanda turned down Preston's very public prom invitation. This embarrassed him and ultimately made her feel bad. So bad, that she ends up dating more odd guys than she would have. Four years later, she is involved in another embarrassing situation and runs into a very attractive fireman who knows her name. With some investigating, she finds out that, yep, Preston has grown up nicely. I had a hard time with these characters because (and maybe this is me) they were and acted too young to be looking at a future. I just couldn't wrap my head around it. It was well-written, just not for me.
Homecoming Season by Susan Wiggs
Unspoken by Lauren Hawkeye
Sweet Memories by Steena Holmes
With such a variety of stories, there is something for everyone. For me, there were more hits than misses. This set is well worth the price, especially since all proceeds go to Diabetes Research!
What a great collection of contemporary authors to come together for a great cause to support diabetes. Fourteen authors in all. I have read many of the titles all ready by Brenda Novak, Bella Andre, Barbara Freethy and Jane Porter. A Baby of Her Own by Brenda Novak, takes you to Dundee Idaho, where Delaney wants a baby of her own, so she meets Connor one a one night stand, but does it turn out that way for them. I Only Have Eyes For You bu Bella Andre introduces to you the Sullivan family, the story of Sophie and Jake in San Francisco. They have a history of knowing each other twenty years ago, when they meet up again at a Sullivan family wedding. On A Night Like This by Barbara Freethy introduces you to the Callaway Clan from San Francisco. This is blended family of firefighters and loyality to their family, this story focuses on Aiden, a smokejumper and Sara. They have a history from teenagers can it blossom again. Take Me Cowboy by Jane Porter takes you Copper Mountain in Montana. This is the story of Jenny and Colton. They both have returned home, Colton only for rodeo but can it turn into more. I highly recommend this boxed set!
Review is specifically for the Krewe of Hunters, May Day novella.
Angela and Jackson are on a vacation in Scottland when they stumble across a corpse in a museum, and then another corpse. Poor Krewe just can't get a break. It seems like every vacation they end up investigating a murder (a fact that ends up lampshaded).
Aside from the occasional internalized misogyny, like the unfortunate emphasis on the beauty of the two corpses (would the death of less attractive women somehow be less tragic?), it was a decent enough story. Relevant too, considering the murderer was a man who abused his position of authority and trust who was protected by the rest of the local men with power.
They do need to stop saying that ghosts can't/don't kill people though. One tossed the murderer into his own pyre.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Each year, Brenda Novak puts on an auction to raise money for Diabetes Research (BrendaNovak.auctionanything.com) This year, as part of her 10th anniversary of the auction, 14 authors have collaborated to created a special box set of amazing stories. Many of these authors are already on my "favorites list" and it is a great opportunity to sample the works from those I haven't read. In this collection are these works:
I Only Have Eyes For You by Bella Andre (The Sullivans) The only woman wealthy Irish pub owner Jake McCann wants is the one he can’t have—Sophie Sullivan, his best friend's off limits sister. But when the beautiful librarian appears on his doorstep as his every fantasy come to life, even though Jake knows loving Sophie isn't the right thing to do...how can he possibly resist?
On A Night Like This by Barbara Freethy (Callways #1) From #1 NY Times Bestselling Author Barbara Freethy comes the first book about the Callaways, a big Irish family born to serve and protect, many as San Francisco firefighters.
May Day! By Heather Graham Members of the Krewe of Hunters team plan a relaxing vacation to jolly old London for the English celebration—they never figured that a May Pole just might be murder.
Shopping for a Billionaire by Julia Kent When mystery shopper Shannon Jacoby meets billionaire Declan McCormick with her hand down a toilet in the men’s room of one of his stores, it’s love at first flush.
Built to Last by Susan Mallery The tale of Aaron Cross, a man who doesn’t know he needs saving...until he meets Marissa Spencer, a heroine inspired by the real life founder of the Motheread/ Fatheread Literacy Program.

Dare to Love by Carly Phillips In relationships, Ian Dare offers the bare minimum—until one glimpse of sensual Riley Taylor changes his perspective. Their affair heats up and love comes into play, but Riley's secret past just might cost them everything.
Executive Seduction by Jennifer Probst When Chandler Santell turns to Logan Grant, the most ruthless CEO in the finance industry to save her beloved Yoga and Arts Center, she never intended to have seduction as part of the plan...

Every Girl Does It by Rachel Van Dyken Amanda gets a flash from the past when the nerdy kid she rejected in high school suddenly reappears in her life...dead sexy, he's all man and he wants her.
Homecoming Season by Susan Wiggs Miranda Sweeney and her family find hope and healing while spending an autumn at Willow Lake after Miranda survives breast cancer. Inspired by the founder of Cottage Dreams.
Unspoken by Lauren Hawkeye Once, Ellie Kendrick was the only thing that Dominic Gabriel wanted. Now she’s back and her version of what happened between them so long ago makes him question everything he knows about himself as a man...
Sweet Memories by Steena Holmes Thinking her marriage is over, Tessa is shocked to fall into the arms of her husband... literally. What’s a girl to do when her heart still goes pitter-patter for a man who ran out on her once but comes back determined to take another chance?
Take Me, Cowboy by Jane Porter Jilted at the altar, Jenny Wright is devastated that bull riding champ Colton Thorpe witnesses her shame, but tough sexy Colton is a man who knows what he wants.
What makes this collection extra special is that 100% of the proceeds from the sale will go to benefit diabetes research. I call that a "win, win"! It is a terrific bargain for a really good cause.
A Sweet Life is the perfect mix of contemporary romances by some of the industry's best selling authors! I was familiar with several of the authors & had actually read a few of the stories before; however, I'm happy to say that there were plenty of new-to-stories to enjoy!
Shopping for a Billionaire by Julia Kent is where I decided to start. What a treat. I was laughing out loud while I read this romantic comedy about a Secret Shopper & her run-in with a billionaire. Shannon Jacoby is a fantastic character. She's smart and has a self-depracating sense of humor that I found to be so enjoyable. I really enjoyed her point of view throughout the story. What's not to love about lines like, "If I had echolocation I could map out the terrain of ab muscles through sheer force of will. His cut body is meant to be relief mapped the way Braille is meant to be read. With my fingertips." If you're looking for a unique "meet up" between characters, this is the story for you. Never in a million years could I have imagined this scene. Julia Kent's humor shone through! I'm going to have to look and see if Ms. Kent has written any other stories about Shannon & "Mr. Sex in a Suit". I need more!
Executive Seduction by Jennifer Probst was my next read in this collection. I'm familiar with her more recent work & was thrilled at the idea of reading her first book (previously titled Heart of Steel). This was such a fantastic story. I loved Logan, the Man of Steel (not Superman!) that had a ruthless reputation in the business industry. Chandler was a great character. She is the owner of a struggling Yoga & Arts Center, determined to live her life according to her wishes, not her fathers. After having her trust shattered by her father and former fiance years before, Chandler is wary of relationships with business executives. She's certain that Logan is NOT what she wants, but there's no denying the chemistry between them. Following along as the story unfolded, I was never bored. I enjoyed their chemistry, I loved the drama & I thought their emotions were portrayed honestly. One of my favorite lines..."Be warned, sweetheart. Cards are on the table. Ante up." Yes, yes, yes! Definitely a story worth reading if you love alpha males that go after what they want!
Homecoming Season by Susan Wiggs was my final selection for this anthology. Wow! I had no idea what was coming when I started this story. Emotional doesn't even begin to sum it up. Susan Wiggs invites us to follow along as Miranda, a recovering cancer patient, struggles to figure out what to do once she's given the "all clear". She's a woman that can't remember what her life was like before cancer, but determined not to waste a single day of her life. I loved the honesty in this book. "She had lost a lot to cancer, but she'd gained at least one thing. Wisdom enough to realize that, sick or healthy, a woman needed to slow down and pay attention to the things that matter most-her family and friends. Her passions and her dreams." This book has it all, a family seeking to reconnect, an unfailing love between husband and wife, and a woman coming to terms with who she is at this moment in her life. I cannot say enough how much I think everyone should read this! I'll warn you, though...have the tissues handy!
I plan on eventually reading every one of the other stories that I haven't already read. I did want to get a review up as soon as possible because all proceeds raised from the sale of this boxed set will be donated to the Diabetes Research Institute via Brenda Novak's Online Auction for Diabetes Research. Not only do you get to read 14 great stories, you're supporting a fantastic cause!
I Only Have Eyes For You by Bella Andre (The Sullivans)
This story introduces Sophia Sullivan and Jake McCann. Sophia has always been the little sister of his best friend. However, things change the night of Sophia's brothers wedding. Sophia lands on his doorstep wanting something more then friendship. Will this make things between them change or will Sophia just stay the best friends little sister.
Having bought Bella Andre's books in the past I but not reading them yet I wasn't sure of how the authors story was going to be. I found that I really liked the story and how the throughout the story you learned about not only the main characters past but also that of other characters who would have future stories in books down the road. I am very interested to read the other books in this series to find out what happens to the other Sullivan Siblings.
On A Night Like This by Barbara Freethy (Callways #1)
Again the first book by an author that I have never read before. I really liked it and would love to read another one from Barbara!
May Day! By Heather Graham
I tried to read this book but for some reason it did not peak my interest so i skipped forward to the next book. I am still interested in reading another Heather Graham book just not this one.
Shopping for a Billionaire by Julia Kent
This was a short cute read about a mystery shopper and a son of a billionaire. It was an inserted but funny read and would be interested in reading more from this author.
Built to Last by Susan Mallery
Having read Susan Mallery before in her series books I was very aware of what the writing style was going to be like but wasn't sure on her stand alone novels. I found that I really like the book and found the story interesting.
A Baby of Her Own by Brenda Novak
Brenda Novak is another author that I have read before and have loved her Whiskey Creek books. I found this book to be as interesting as her other ones and was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next in the story. It also did not end the way that I thought it would and took an interesting turn. I am very interested to read the next book in the series with Rebecca and Josh's story
Dare to Love by Carly Phillips
Wasn't the type of book that I was used to from Carly Phillips but it was very interesting. Not sure if I will read any more in this series from her.
Executive Seduction by Jennifer Probst
Good book and interested in reading more from Jennifer.
In Too Deep by RaeAnne Thayne
I am a fan of RaeAnne's books and this book did not disappoint. Can't wait to read more from her.
Every Girl Does It by Rachel Van Dyken
I thought that this storyline was very interesting. Very interested in reading more from this author going forward.
Homecoming Season by Susan Wiggs
Great author, great read!
Review of whole book series:
I thought this was a great idea that the authors had regarding this book. It is a great way for readers to try out books from other authors by not buying them individually. It was also a great mix of new and old books and stand alone and series novels. In addition, it is a win win for everybody because the books as 2.99 and the proceeds go to help the diabetes organization. Would defiantly recommend this book to other romance readers and anyone interesting in trying any of these authors out.
I originally thought about not purchasing this collection as I had already read some of the offerings. However, when I realized a purchase helped such a great cause, I was on board, and boy am I glad I purchased. First of all, these are not “novellas”, these are full stories. And for the price? It can’t be beat. I have to say that I read and loved all of them. Bella Andre – no matter what name she writes under, I always enjoy. I love the Sullivan saga and own all the ebooks. Great read. Barbara Freethy’s book – oh, man, heartbreak city. The hero and the heroine deal with some very deep issues and it will break your heart. And I mean that in a good way! Heather Graham – not my usual genre but I did like the book. Julia Kent – Loved that this book is the first of a new series for her and I always enjoy a great billionaire story! And really, the premise is just hilarious. Susan Mallery – Please. I love anything she writes and this offering was no different. I enjoy that she makes her characters come alive for me. Throw in snarkiness and humor and she gets me every time. Brenda Novak – Again, I always love reading Ms. Novak’s books and this one made me laugh as well. Carly Phillips – I hate to repeat myself but I love her writing style and read all her books. And who doesn’t love a good comeuppance story? Jennifer Probst – She writes some steamy(er) books than some other authors but I always love to read about “ruthless” CEO’s! This one was very good as well. RaeAnne Thayne – She certainly knows how to write tortured heroes and heroines and does such a great job this time as well. I always love to read her stories. Rachel Van Dyken – My first time reading Ms. Van Dyken’s work but again, I love “nerdy” heroes. I really did enjoy this one, too. Susan Wiggs – Susan Wiggs has kept me hooked on her Willow Lake stories since the beginning and I liked the basis for this story. Lauren Hawkeye – Lauren has said that this isn’t her usual plot but boy did she nail it! It was very deep and the story was painful to the hero and heroine and let me tell you, the writing was so well done that you felt every stab in the gut. All I can say is “wow”. Steena Holmes – My first time reading Ms. Holmes but I did like this book. Jane Porter – For me, Ms. Porter has a quirky style that I love and I always love a good cowboy story. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed these books and recommend you purchase. You’ll be helping a great cause AND getting a fantastic deal.
What a fantastic boxed set filled with 14 stories by some amazing authors! All proceeds from the sale of A Sweet Life will be donated to the Diabetes Research Institute via Brenda Novak's Online Auction for Diabetes Research.
I'll leave reviews for a few of them just so you can get the idea of the amazing stories included in this set.
I Only Have Eyes For You by Bella Andre -- Who doesn't love the Sullivans? The princess and the tattooed bad boy are perfect! They bring out the best in each other. All these years and she's ready to make her move. The problem is that he doesn't think he's good enough for her. The fourth book in an awesome series!
On a Night Like This by Barbara Freethy -- The Callaway's are an amazing family that I can't wait to revisit. Sara's always loved Aiden. When they meet again after 10 years, will they be able to heal each other from life's tragedies? This is the first book in this amazing series!
May Day by Heather Graham -- Great mystery suspense! Another fabulous Krewe of Hunters story.
Shopping for a Billionaire by Julia Kent -- Loved it! Declan is too sexy for words! Shannon has an awesome sense of humor and I have to read part 2 to see what happens in this fantastic short story.
Built to Last by Susan Mallery -- Great story about grief and how we each deal with in our own ways.
A Baby of Her Own by Brenda Novak -- It starts with a poorly made decision and turns into a fantastic story about love and forgiveness. Loved it!
Dare to Love by Carly Phillips -- Two wounded souls with different tragic pasts. Can Riley handle Ian's dominant side after the incidents of her past? Can Ian handle Riley's best friend, which is his half brother, Alex? Did I forget to mention that Ian doesn't care for his half brother, Alex? This is quite the triangle. Fantastic story! I can't wait for more!
Executive Seduction by Jennifer Probst -- Loved it! Really, really loved it! Chandler found the perfect man to show her that not all business executives are the same but will she give in and let him show her?
These are just a few if the fantastic stories that are in this boxed set. Foreword written by Debbie Macomber.
(Fourteen Contemporary Romances by Bestselling Authors to Benefit Diabetes Research) Wow! What Can I say--14 Romances by some of the best writers around for only $2.99 and all proceeds benefit Diabetes Research. I would pay more than that for a single book by Julia Kent or Lauren Hawkeye or Bella Andre or you get the idea. I have not finished reading the whole set yet--1500 pages makes for a lot of reading--will update this review under each author's book as I finish.
I Only Have Eyes For You - Bella Andre A wonderful read that deserves 5 stars Book 4 in the Sullivan Series--Sophie Sullivan and Jake McCann's story. This is a wonderful, heartwarming story. Such deep characters and a well written story. Sophie and Jake have been in love with each other forever without acknowledging it to each other or anyone else. Sophie finally decides she is tired of waiting for Jake to notice her and takes matters into her own hands. You will have to read the story to find out what happens next. I will say, you can't help falling in love with Sophie, Jake and the entire Sullivan clan.
On A Night Like This - Barbara Freethy May Day - Heather Graham Shopping For A Billionaire - Julia Kent Built To Last - Susan Mallery A Baby Of Her Own - Brenda Novak Dare To Love - Carly Phillips Executive Seduction - Jennifer Probst In Too Deep - Raeanne Thayne Every Girl Does It - Rachel Van Dyken Homecoming Season - Susan Wiggs
Unspoken - Lauren Hawkeye ***Received an ARC of Unspoken in exchange for an honest review*** A wonderful read that deserves 5 stars. Unspoken tells the story of Ellie and Gabe, teenage lovers who are ripped apart and then how they meet up again ten years latter. You can't help but be drawn in emotionally as Ellie and Gabe try to sort through past misunderstandings and learn what had transpired in the years they were apart. This was an emotional read which even brought me to tears a few times.
Sweet Memories - Steena Holmes Take Me, Cowboy - Jane Porter
I was gifted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I was happy to see this boxed set come out. Especially when I found out the proceeds from the sale of A Sweet Life are going to be donated to the Diabetes Research Institute via Brenda Novak's Online Auction for Diabetes Research. I'm still reading all the books in this one. As I finish I will update with reviews as time permits.
I Only Have Eyes For You by Bella Andre (The Sullivans)
On A Night Like This by Barbara Freethy (Callways #1)
May Day! By Heather Graham
Shopping for a Billionaire by Julia Kent
This one had me laughing from start to finish. When Shannon Jacoby is forced to do 9 jobs as a Mystery Shopper at the last minute she doesn't really think about what she looks like as she literally runs out the door. Hair a mess.. check. Mismatched shoes ... check. Torn shirt and yoga pants... check.
What she didn't expect was to find handsome billionaire Declan McCormick in the last store she shops in much less running into him as she scopes out the men's bathroom for her survey. Talk about an unusual pick up place. Although it is apparent from the beginning that they are both interested, Shannon runs out as soon as possible without giving him her name.
Imagine her surprise when they meet later on that day at a business meeting where Shannon is the closer for her company who are vying for a contract with Declan's business. Sparks fly and soon a business dinner ends up being a lot more than what they intended
What an collection of good stories!! Good authors and limited edition collection of fourteen contemporary romances. All proceeds from the sale of A Sweet Life will be donated to the Diabetes Research Institute via Brenda Novak's Online Auction for Diabetes Research. I had already read and reviewed A Baby Of My Own written by Brenda Novak which I rated 5 stars. Following is my review : Welcome to the town of Dundee, Idaho and the start of a new series. The characters are well developed bringing the reader into the story. The main character is thirty years ago, wants a baby but there is no in Dundee she finds interesting. When her life long, wild living, loving roommate suggests a way to avoid artificial insemination by finding a stranger to help with her desire, the story is off and running……. There is humor, romance, two woman with very different personalities united by true loyalty, the town people, the foreman, the rancher, and his three malicious uncles. Good read and very enjoyable!! I will be reading and reviewing all the authors books in this set under the book title. Remember your purchase of A Sweet Life helps fight against diabetes!

I Only Have Eyes For You - Bella Andre - 5 stars A new author to me and one I will be looking for in the future. I have to go find the beginning of this Sullivan family series and start over from there. The characterization is wonderful and so true to life, I want to know the rest of the family.
On A Night Like This - Barbara Freethy - 4 stars Another new author to me and I will be looking for more in this particular series.
May Day - Heather Graham - 4 stars One of my most favorite authors. This is a short story based on two of the main characters in her Krewe series (which I loved and reread quite often)
Shopping For A Billionaire - Julia Kent - 3 stars I have read a few of this author's work before and did enjoy them, but this one was lacking something.
Built To Last - Susan Mallery - 4 stars
A Baby Of Her Own - Brenda Novak
Dare To Love - Carly Phillips
Executive Seduction - Jennifer Probst
In Too Deep - Raeanne Thayne
Every Girl Does It - Rachel Van Dyken
Homecoming Season - Susan Wiggs
Unspoken - Lauren Hawkeye 5 stars ***Received an ARC of Unspoken in exchange for an honest review*** A wonderful read that deserves 5 stars.
Sweet Memories - Steena Holmes Take Me, Cowboy - Jane Porter(less)
I received an advanced copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review. A Sweet Life is a romance lover’s dream! This is a 14 author book from romance powerhouses such as Brenda Novak, Bella Andre, Barbara Freethy, Heather Graham, Julia Kent, Susan Mallery, Carly Phillips, Jennifer Probst, RaeAnne Thayne, Rachel Van Dyken, Susan Wiggs, Lauren Hawkeye, Steena Holmes, and Jane Porter. I mean, seriously... could you ask for anything more? And to top it off, it’s all for a good cause. Every penny earned from the sales of this book will go to diabetes research!
Personally, I would have bought this book for the new Julia Kent series alone. She’s published book one of her new series, “Shopping for a Billionaire” here. Shannon, a mystery shopper meets Declan, the billionaire for the purposes of this story. It’s definitely lust at first sight... with the possibility of more. This first story in the series chronicles their hilarious first meeting and road to their first date, which is nothing short of outrageous. You will absolutely love this book! This book is quirky, romantic, intriguing, sexy, surprising, and of course HOT! Trust me. You will not want to put it down. You will want to run right out and buy the second book in the series!
If you’re a fan of steamy romance, you can’t go wrong with this book! Every novella in this book fits that bill and more. From cowboys to babies to billionaires, this book has everything you could possibly want. Each story will completely draw you in and you won’t be able to put this book down!
I received this book in advance for a review of Julia Kent's Shopping for a Billionaire, let me start there. This book has me hooked. I'm not a fan of serials (series yes, serials NO) but like all of Ms. Kent's book I have to read the rest to find out how this ends. It's set in Boston just like her other stories. It has a curvy heroine, just like most of her stories. And great characters and wise cracks, just like her other stories. Really I want to find out what happens with Shannon's best friend and Declan's brother. How crazy does her mom go to get Shannon and Dec together? And please let's put Steve in his place. I'm ready for the second book now.
But it's not just Julia's book. There are 13 other authors, great authors. After reading Bella Andre's selection, I Only Have Eyes for You, I had to go buy everyone of her Sullivan books (all 13, did I mention I love series). Jennifer Probst is my next big splurge after reading Executive Seduction, although I already have a few of hers. I have to wait a week or so to get to Carly Phillips and Susan Wiggs' selections because my bank account can't handle anymore.
If you need a good read, or 50, love an author or three, then read this anthology. Most importantly it's for a great cause all proceeds go to diabetes research.
A Sweet Life is a boxed set which contains 14 full length stories by well- known contemporary authors. The proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to the Diabetes Research institute along with the proceeds from author Brenda Novak's online auction for diabetes research.
I began by reading Bella Andre's I Only Have Eyes For You. I love the Sullivan series and had wondered who "Nice" aka Sophie would be paired with. I was surprised that the author paired Sophie and Jake together but , I absolutely loved this couple. It's my favorite of the series!
Susan Wiggs' Willow Lake books are one of my all time favorite series. I emphasized with cancer survivor Miranda Sweeney and enjoyed this story. It was very moving.
I am reading, Built to Last, Aaron Cross and Marissa Spencer's story by Susan Mallery and I am enjoying it!
The box set contains authors that I enjoy such as Bella Andre, Susan Mallery, Susan Wiggs and Brenda Novak.
I am looking forward to reading the contributions by authors Barbara Freethy, Heather Graham, Julia Kent, Carly Philips, Jennifer Probst, Raeanne Thayne and Rachel Van Dyken. The box set is a great way to try out a new author or two. I am going to enjoy the stories for several weeks.
Great cause, at $2.99 a super price and wonderful stories!
I have read several of the stories that are included in this boxed set. Brenda Novak's A Baby of her own is a great story from her Dundee, Idaho series. A 30 year old virgin is tired of waiting for mister right to have a baby so she travels to a bigger city and seduces a man. She is in fact pregnant and soon learns he is a new resident in Dundee and she will have to come clean about her deceit. Can he forgive her and do they have a shot at love? Bella Andre's I Only Have Eyes For You is one of my favorites from her Sullivan series. Sophie is the youngest Sullivan and she has been in love with Jake, her brother's best friend, since she was 5. Jake has loved her just as long but she is off limits. She finally seduces him and ends up pregnant. Now they have to navigate the mind field of love and family they created. RaeAnne Thayne's In Too Deep is a highly emotional book but one of my favorites as well. This is a story of two people who have suffered horrible tragedies. Neither wants to love for different reasons but fate has other plans. Can they make a life together even as one of them is in danger? A story full of suspense and love. All the other stories are written by great authors and this supports a wonderful cause. Definitely 5 stars.
A Sweet Life is a boxed set which contains 14 stories by well known romance authors. The proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to the Diabetes Research institute. I just love that Brenda Novak does so much to help this organization!
I read Bella Andres I Only Have Eyes For you and fell in love with the Sullivans all over again. "Nice" became my favorite story very quickly! It doesn't seem to matter what name Bella writes under, all her stories are just amazing!!!
A Baby of her own by Brenda Novak is my favorite so far! I seem to love Brenda more and more with each book that I read. What a talented lady she is. This book has some very real situations that will make you laugh and cry and you wont want to put this book down until it is done. Still a virgin at 30 and the things these ladies do had me cracking up.
Sweet Memories by Steena Holmes was a quick and fun read. I was captured within the first few pages and had a hard time putting it down. I was thrilled with how much the main character grew throughout the hard time she was going through and was even happier to see a happily ever after!
This is a fantastic set of books that I am very excited to keep reading for a long time to come.
What a collection of great stories and by amazing authors. One of my favorite authors is Brenda Novak & when you purchase this collection, all proceeds go toward Diabetes Research.
Brenda Novak's done it again With the first story in her Dundee series! With an opening line of, "Artificial insemination. of course!" You get a sense of what Delaney Lawson is considering. She wants someone to love and someone who will love her...but hasn't met the right guy yet. What will she do? Will she find Mr. Right or find a one night stand? Will she resort to artificial insemination? Brenda Novak brings you right into small town life with another fun read that leaves you unable to stop reading. Dundee, Idaho is the site of this story, and the first in the series. You will laugh and enjoy the romance.
Do something good for the world & purchase to support Diabetes Research.
Other authors include: Jane Porter, Steena Holmes, Lauren Hawkeye, Susan Wiggs, Rachel Van Dyke, Raeanne Thayne, Jennifer Probst, Carly Phillips, Susan Mallery, Julia Kent, Heather Graham, Barbara Freethy, and Bella Andre.
I've read several of the books in this set before and have them already rated.
Three that I thought were outstanding were new to me and we're terrific.
AAAA. BUILT TO LAST by Susan Mallery centers around a social worker, Marissa Spencer, who is very involved in her community, Aaron Cross, on the other hand, builds high quality and sought after fine furniture and is a bit of a recluse.
AAAA. IN TOO DEEP by RaeAnne Thayne is about a small farm/ranch owner who also owns and runs a preschool in a small town in WY. Will Tanner, a widower with an 11 yr old daughter! is here to be acting Sheriff while he heals from his own gunshot wound and guilt and grief over the death of his pregnant wife while he was a cop in Phoenix.
AAAA. A BABY OF HER OWN by Brenda Novak. Delaney. Is driven to have a baby. She sleeps with a fellow for that express purpose, assuming she'll never see him again. WRONG! Conner Armstrong is enroute to her same small town in Idaho.

Why you need to buy this set: 1. Your purchase supports diabetes research. All of the authors have pledged their proceeds from this book to this worthy cause. 2. 14 amazing books for only $2.99, that's less than $0.22 per book! 3. These are 14 amazing authors! 4. Even if you only have time to read one of these books, Shopping for a Billionaire by Julia Kent is worth more than the entire purchase price for this entire set. Ms. Kent is starting a new series with this book, and from what I have read this is one hysterical romance. Ms. Kent keeps you laughing page by page, even as we fall in love with her two main characters. I can honestly say that i'd never even thought of meeting a man in the men's restroom. Ms. Kent's work is inventive and charming. 5. There is a story here for everyone. 6. You're still reading... hurry click "buy now"
Oh how the mighty fall. Those that protest the most, fall the hardest. Adam is definitely one of those types of guys. I loved his big ego, because he was also a really great guy. Besides being a handsome and sexy Sullivan, he was also a smart, talented and sweet family man. I love how close this family is to each other. Kerry seemed like a straight-laced, all business type of woman at first, but I lived getting to know her better. She was fun and flirty, but she was also scared of losing those she loved. That held her back and broke my heart. What she had to go through with her sister was very sad, and I felt for her. These two had great chemistry together and complimented one another perfectly. I can't wait for the next Sullivan family and all of their wonderful stories to come.
Great reads from some wonderful Authors! You can't get much better then this.
Juila Kent - Shopping For A Billionaire is going to have you on the edge of your seat and rolling in the floor! If you haven't read one of Juila's book this one is a great start. I have fallen in love with Juila's quick wit in her writing she can pop some good ones out there that have you laughing so hard people look at you like your crazy! I can't wait to read the next one in this series.
Awww Rachel Van Dyken and Jennifer Probst are up next to read out of this box set. I'm doing this by books squeezing them in since I have a few others that I need to read for review. I'll update as I go but I can tell you you will not be let down by any of this great authors!

All great reads. I do have a favorite one Shopping for a billionaire by Julia Kent, I just love her work.
I read the book written by Julia Kent - Shopping for a Billionaire Book 1 -included in this amazing book bundle which is helping with the cause to fight diabetes. There are 14 books in this bundle of books which includes books by Jennifer Probst ,Heather Graham and Debbie Macomber just to name a few! I must say that this book by Julia Kent is a little different from her others but it is so very her style. Shannon is sassy, funny and subtle! Declan is handsome, rich and flirty! This book had me laughing out loud and not just a chuckle but a real come from the toes laugh! I can not wait for book 2 in Julia's Shopping for a Billionaire series. Remember that purchasing this book helps with the fight against diabetes.
This collection is full of excellent full length stories written by so many wonderful authors. These well known authors have come together to help raise funds for the Diabetes Foundation . I applaud Brenda Novak for her yearly effort of raising funds for diabetes research.
Each story will sweep you away on an adventure in romance and self discovery. A few of my favorites are Susan Mallery, RaeAnne Thayne, Susan Wiggs Bella Andre, and Bella Andre. I even discovered a couple of new authors that I will diffidently be checking on their current books. Even if you've already read one or two of the stories, there are hours worth of happy reading for everyone. This would also make a great Mother's Day present.
